This is my second iPhone 3G (I got this one a month ago) and I am unable to make or receive calls. If I dial a number, the other persons phone rings once, then my iPhone says Call Failed. Also, when receive, I touch Answer and the iPhone freezes. The signal bars and the internet E disappear when calling too. Texting (SMS) and the App Store work perfectly. I just tried to enter the serial number to connect with an Apple expert and Were sorry, but that is not a valid serial number. Please try again. appeared. Is there anything I can do besides sending it in to fix this?

Hi,
Try restarting the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 34 of the iPhone User Guide.

I have tried restarting it as well as erasing all content and settings then resyncing it.
Dell Dimension 8400 Windows XP (none)
