Will Apple replace my iPhone for free
Reply TopicOk so my aunt went to at&t and brought me a new iPhone for my birthday about 5-6 months ago. she didn't tell me weather it had a warranty or not and I cant ask her since she out of the country right now. Well the thing is a week afterwards we canceled the service but the iPhone was still working fine but you couldn't call or text obviously cuz it didn't have service but I started using it as a iPod but 3 weeks ago I dropped the iPhone in water and since then its been in rice. But yesterday I took it to apple and the technician told he'd give me a brand new one for $150 and I think its a good price but my dad said we should take it to apple again and this time not mention the water damage and they'll give us a free one. their are no obvious signs of water damage so do you think they'll be able to find out.? also they cant connect it to a charger because there a piece of rice stuck in the charge hole.
Now my questions are.... ^^Please read fist^^
Will he be able to find out that its water damaged?
Do you think they'll give me a free one?
If they will give a free or we decide to pay $150, will they ask me about the warranty # or something?
How long does the original warranty last?
Would it matter that I don't have at&t service anymore?
Will they give me an unlocked iPhone?
And lastly for what reasons does apple replace iPhones for free?

B) They'll check

No, they may look up the serial number if they need to.
Would it matter that I don't have at&t service anymore?
Will they give me an unlocked iPhone?
If the phone was originally purchased on AT&T's network then you will get an AT&T phone.
And lastly for what reasons does apple replace iPhones for free?
If there is a hardware defect with the device and was NOT physically damaged by the user (for example, water damage, cracked screen), then it would have been free.
