Well after reading round the communities I see that lots of people are having wifi issues with iOS 5.1.1. Well I am another person. I recently had a new home bitten installed then I checked the wifi and nothing came up just 'choose network' with no networks under it. By the way I can normally pick up 6 routers from my house and I mainly use 3G jus need wifi for apps and games and iTunes sync. I can't reset my network settings because I am on giffgaff and I would then need wifi to download the Internet settings. So what can I do?? Does anyone have any ideas or are apple doing a fix or what??

No, sorry... you're mistaken.
Is Wi-Fi actually turned on in Settings > Wi-Fi?
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?
Frankly resetting network settings is one of the simplies things to try and is most likely what will need to be done short of a restore as new to rectify the Wi-Fi issue. If you refuse to do basic troubleshooting there is little to nothing that anyone here can do to assist you.
Well yeh a lot of people are not millions of course but enough people to write in the community you look and all sorts of devices are playing up with their wifi and I want to know if anyone who has had this problem can tell me how they solved it. And is my wifi even on? Daft question friend I am good with phones and If I didn't have a genuine issue I wouldn't come to the community for answers, thanks anyway
