Here's what I submitted TO apple.
"I would like to request a security feature on all iOS devices.
The feature would enable the owner to have the iOS request that a password must be entered whenever the device is being powered off.
SECURTIY REASON
At the moment If some one steals your device, all they have to do is power it down disabling the wipe, find, and alert features in iCloud, and then at their leisure they can plug it in to a computer and do what they like.
All Apple has to do is add an option that allows the owner to require a password to power off the device.
EFFECT
This way the owner would have the remainder of the battery life to locate, wipe, or send messages to the device.
My fathers iPad was stolen and we saw the thief run away with the iPad. I immediately used my iPhone in an attempt to use the iCloud to locate, wipe, ect.
My father had cellular Internet on and paid for, but the thief turned the device off and we never recovered it or had a chance to wipe it.
What's the point of The iCloud "find me" feature if all the thief has to do is turn it off?
Please add this as a securit feature. "
If you would like to request this too just click here.

The more people request the more likely it will happen someday.
Well the reason it's a question is because I was curious as to if anyone would have a explanation to why it's not there already.
I know some features are missing because if laws, security risks, and other various reasons that could be prohibited becuse of the iOS.
But it seems like something that should be there considering the thought behind the "fund me" features, so I thought there may be a good reason it's not.
Btw I did submit it.
Thanks

Yes thank you guys. I am aware I can request it myself and have done so about 4 times in the past. Which is why I am bring it to other peoples attention.
Hopefully it can gain some traction and added soon.
Idk does it bother you it's not a feature or am I alone in this crusade! Lol
It's just such an easy work around for thieves.
Maybe I should request to the jailbreak dev team instead?
Maybe that'll get apple to open their eyes. ;)

It personally doesn't bother me, as I have a passcode lock set on my phone, so the thiefs would'n'tt be able to get into my phone. Also my phone is 90% in my possession or in my line of sight.
You are probably not the only one in this crusade. As I've seen a post on here early saying the say thing about having a password to power off your phone.
then if apple does do it, your going get a bunch of people complaining about having to enter passcode just to power off their phone.

Reply something about Why can t be password to power off iPhone or iOS devices or Post a New Thread
