When I am using a headset or earphones while talking on the phone, my voice echoes back at me. When I take out my earphones, the echo is gone and everything is normal. But when i put the earphones back on, the echo continues. I tried turning on the speakers and turning it off some seconds later, but it makes no difference. I recently purchased an iPhone 4, 8gb just the other day.

Did you try a different headset?  Are you referring to a cabled or Bluetooth headset?

Whether i use apple earphones or a different brand, such as Sony, nothing is solved. I do not use bluetooth.

Try the basic troublshooting steps as needed, as described in the User Guide, Appendix B:

 

Restart

Reset

Restore in iTunes using a backup

Restore in iTunes as new (without using a backup)
