I have a water damaged iPhone 3GS, the red indicater is red where you would plug the charger into. I have tried drying it out with a hairdryer, left it in rice, etc but with no luck. Has anyone had any success with bring one back to life?
If not, are there any other options? I read that Apple will sell a replacement at a reduced cost?

Sometimes they recover, other times they dont .
An out of warranty replacement is £146.

It is a one way color change. If it got wet, then there is no going back. They wont sell on at reduced cost. You can buy a new one at full price or if your carrier has an upgrade period and you are in that upgrade window you can get a subsidized one cheaper at the cost of extending your contract.
