Unable to Restore iPhone

My iPhone 3G 16GB suddenly stopped working. I only get the Connect to iTunes screen. Tried to restore 2x and it still goes back to the Connect to iTunes screen. When I touch the i button it read at first that the IMEI and the ICCID were unavailable, but now theyre listed to no avail.
Advice please!

Sounds like your iPhone 3G has been nobbled by Tampa Bay, eh?
Sorry, unhelpful I know, but a little smile sometime helps me to cope....how about you?
Try a reset: hold down Sleep and Home buttons past the point of powering-off and then wait a few seconds before holding the Sleep button until you get the Apple logo appear AND THEN WAIT.......

Thanks for the smile, yes (even though Im from Boston...the Rays torture me wherever I am). Unfortunately, the Reset has failed me multiple times! Even after restoring 2x.
