Just got a new 4S to replace my old 3GS.

 

I went through this backup/restore procedure but both iTunes and my new phone are only recognising a few recent free apps I've downloaded and not my paid apps that I've had for a while (the only one I really care about is a GPS one called Metroview Australia).

 

Looking at the 3GS in iTunes it isn't Sync-ing apps and if I try to sync them it tells me "All existing apps and their data on the iPhone will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library." Presumably meaning it'll delete the ones I want.

 

iTunes is authorized using my one and only account, the one the old phone and new phone are registered to.

 

How do I get these across?

Turns out my notebook iTunes had the apps and I was able to do the Backup/Restore there.

 

However I'm getting rid of this notebook soon... how do I get the apps on my desktop?
