Can an iphone be used as a modem with a laptop like most smart phones? I think they call this tethering. Can an iphone tether?

I believe there is a thread on this. search tethering and it should come up. I think its not permitted with at&t.

This is not allowed on AT&T. An app from the iTunes app store was just pulled off because it used tethering.

Not allowed on AT&T? AT&T Blackberrys can do it.
This is the only missing feature keeping me from an iPhone. GRR!
