Missed Phone Call Alert Notice-Where it iPhone

Did a few searches, but did not find the answer I am looking for.. only found for MMS / SMS.When someone calls and I dont have my phone close enough to hear it ring, I dont know that someone called. I am forced to physically check the phone each time I a near it to see if I missed any calls. I missed an important biz call yesterday and a voicemail was sitting on my phone for 3 hours before I decided to make a call and noticed one was there.All my past phones will beep letting me know a call is missed. I can see where I can configure repeat notices for text messages, but not where to set it up for missed phone calls.Am I missing something obvious? Thanks in advance. Dell Laptop 9300 Windows XP Pro

Anonymous Incoming Texts iPhone

Hello. If this has been covered in another forum please feel free to point me to it.That said, heres my issue:I have the new 3GS phone. Love it, of course.I am frequently at different clients offices.If I am at Client As office and Client B sends me a text, I want it to show up as New text (or something similar) and NOT show the Clients name or number as it is in my address book. Many of my clients enjoy the fact that I keep them to myself and not name-drop as to who they are. So, if my phone is on the desk near me, as it often is, and a text pops up, I would rather it not show Client a who Client B is.I went under settings and turned off the preview in the text Settings, but that does not do what I want.Is there a way or a hack even, to do what I want?Thanks for any help with this.-Jason MacBook 2.4 GHz Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Ive had my iPhone for a while and this just started happening, I try to send a text to my best friend and when it says its sent she doesnt get get it or we already are texting and my phone stops sending texts for no reason. Stupid O2 rule on iphone 3g replacements when faulty

HII got my iPhone 3g in FEB 09. and I was having a few problems and the aol account password problem. So last week I took it in for repair.I got another iphone back which from what I can make out is a refurb.it starts with a 5 on the serial number.but the point is this iphone did not even last 24 hours. i was able to restore it after it restarted and locked up at apple boot logo. i was playing the game cops and robbers on it at the timeAther the rstore i started the reinstall of apps etc and it restarted part wa into the install. and locked up againThe day after I was able to enter recovery mode again and restored it again. but his time when it came to install apps it did a kernal panic and put up a load of text.I told 02 i wanted a brand new handset as I was not happy the one i got was faulty more than mine was. but i was told NO, 02 do not give out new ones as it was in there terms that they do not.Is it me or am I getting conned I am not willing to pay £810 for what is a secondhand phone.I keep trying to look for the terms on 02 website but it keeps saying its down.And what really stinks is I was told that if I had taken out insurance with 02 i would have got a new iPhone. I have a BIG problem with restoring my iphone 3g. The problem was when i tried to upgrade my phone from OS 2.2.1 to 3.0. Now whenever i try to restore the phone all i get is a black screen with white text in it giving possible location of the error. I am quite sure that it is kernel panic. SMS Contact Names Not Showing iPhone

Hi folks, Im hoping someone can help here. Ive just updated to 3.0 and now Im getting numbers instead of contact names showing in my text messages (both through Apple Messages and iRealSMS). The numbers are in international format which is probably the issue as theyre entered in my Contacts without the international prefix. This wasnt an issue before the update. Hi all,I know the iPhone saves in its text messaging history both text messages to individuals as well as to multiple people. However, Ive been looking for a way to reference a frequently used group of people (and an easy way to edit that group, if it should change) to send a text message to all those people instead of having to scroll through my text messaging history to find the exact recipient list I am looking for.a good analogy would be something like an email alias, but for text messaging.E.g. Say I have a group of friends that I always like to play basketball with - lets call them Ray, Bryan, David and Jeff (could be more, but just for examples sake. Id like to be able to enter an alias, like bball in the recipient area of the text message screen to send a message to each of those guys who would be part of that list, instead of scrolling through my history trying to find the last message I sent to Ray, Bryan, David and Jeff. And lets say that one of those friends moves out of the area, so I want to modify that group to just have Ray and Jeff. Currently, you cant modify mass text message recipient lists. Does that make sense?Are these things possible? Does anyone know of a solution? Will Apple add this seemingly easy-to-do feature soon?Any input would be great!Thanks,Davep.s. Receiving an MMS. Am i doing something wrong iPhone

Hey guys,Just wondering if anyone knows why the MMS feature does this (on my phone anyway).When i receive an MMS from someone who is saved in my contacts, i receive the MMS fine (text and photo), but their details show up as their phone number and not their name.If i dont recognise the number i have to go through my entire contacts until i find them.I then have to save the number the MMS was sent from (it includes Country Code) under their contact.Replying to their MMS goes direct to them, but when they reply back to me with an SMS, they appear twice in my messages box. One for the MMS and one for the SMS. Isnt there a way of just having it all combined?I hope i havent confused anyone. Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Can anyone tell me what the score is with getting decent ringtones onto your iPhone, on the apple site it suggests that via iTunes, this can only be done in the U.S Store. I just want to get a tune that i have downloaded and use part of it as a ringtone. How can I retrieve deleted text messages iPhone

My BF deleted several text messages on his iphone. I suspect he is cheating on me. Since he deleted those text messages he has syncd his iphone with our pc and downloaded the 3GS upgrade. Can those deleted text be retrieved? Are they on his iphone or on the pc now since he has syncd it? Please help! Application sync causes iTunes crash . iPhone 3G

With no particular reason when I sync iTunes would crash. No new apps or app updates. So I deleted apps off the phone, turned off app sync, etc. Still happened so I did a restore. That helped for a bit, I could at least get my music and podcasts to sync again. So I decided to download a few apps (previously purchased) and again it crashes upon sync even if I then turn off the app syncing. So another restore and all is well again.Deleted backups, removed apps. I thought it was a particular app so after restoring I will turn on JUST app syncing. No matter which apps are selected to sync, it ALWAYS crashes on the second app. So back to crashing again.Defiantly app related and I did do a quick search but no one seems to have this exact same issue.I have not restored and setup as new phone. Cannot send text message to NEW contact iPhone

I dont know if this is because of the 3.0 upgrade....I can still send a text to someone who Ive already sent texts too, and I can simply click their name, and continue the text conversation.But if I click the icon to select someone NEW to send to, it allows me to select the contact (or contacts), but I cannot move the cursor to the text area to type!Am I missing something?No matter what I do, I cannot get the cursor to move from the contacts line, to the text area to begin typing my text...Any ideas?Thanks! Contacts conflict with international code iPhone

Dear all,I have iPhone 3G factory unlocked and I upgraded its software to 3.0 but after the upgrade, everytime i recieve a call from a local number that is saved in the contacts with its international code it appears on the phone as a number (no name) so I have to delete the international code from the saved contact to make the name appears again! iPhone 3G SMS Issues Post-3.0OS Upgrade

**Please note: I am trying to send just regular text messages, not picture text messages.**After updating my iPhone 3G to the 3.0OS, I noticed that my text messages started to get really flaky (i.e. could not send messages, only receive). I thought that Rogers (Canada) was having difficulties due to the iPhone 3.0OS and iPhone 3GS releases, so I waited patiently and thought this issue would resolve itself.I have spent over an hour and half on the phone with Rogers (Canada) representatives and the only thing they have done is told me to “Reset Network Settings.” Finally, after a lot of troubleshooting I have figured out what my problem is. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the situation.1) In order to send a text message to someone outside my area code, I MUST have no prior conversation with them stored on my iPhone. I can send unlimited SMSs to them, but as soon as they respond back, I cannot simply touch reply and respond to them. I have go into Messages, touch EDIT, then delete the entire conversation. This means I have to do this every time someone from outside my area code SMSs me. This is not only annoying, but defeats the whole purpose of the “conversation/chat” style of the iPhone.2) If I am outside my local area, then I must perform the above steps in order to send a message. I MUST have no prior conversations stored in my iPhone.3) Everything is fine and dandy for calls within my local calling area. No error messages.I am wondering if anyone has these problems as well. I did not experience any of these problems prior to upgrading to the 3.0OS. Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.***P.S. I have also tried manually typing in the phone number, by using both 10 digits and the “+1”-then area code. Visual voicemail iPhone

I went from iPhone 3G to 3Gs and have data plan and unlimited text. I get everything to work except visual voicemail. When I go to phone icon and hit the voicemail button, it dials my voicemail (similar to when you would push and hold 1 in the pre iPhone days. AT&T can resolve and have switched out phone. Texting iPhone

When constructing a text, if it happens to be a long one, (which mine regularly are!), I used to like the fact the boxed area you were writing in only went so far up the page so you could scroll and look at the message which youd been previously sent. This no longer happens and the box youre writing in fills the screen and you cant look at the previous message you had been sent. Well title says it all, I can send messages no problem but Im not able to receive text messages. Fortunately i think my phone is working as it should aside from this problem. Cant text after iPhone 3.0 update

Ever since I got the update, there are a couple of people that I cannot text. I could receive their text, but when I send them a message a little exclamation point comes out next to it. And no matter how many times I send it again, the messages wont go through.Ive called Apple and AT&T, and the problem still seems occur. Ive restored it to a new phone. Slow Backups iPhone 3G

I have loads of trouble everytime I sync my Phone. The backup takes forever or its freezing. It stops about a quarter of the way through. I cant even download 3.0 cause it cant get past the backup stage. I have mobileme so I have all things synced to it not on the phone itself. Very few apps only one page if you know what I mean. Removed photos, text conversations I dont know what to do. I have also tried a default reset but it only works once. I dont know what it could be... HELP!! Slow iPhone 3G after 3.0 OS update

Has anyone else had their iPhone 3G slow down after updating the software on it? For me, its not super slow, its just a delay of about .5 to 1 second, but when I notcie it, it is exremeley annoying. And when I try to turn the keyboard to the side to text on it, its also kinda slow. And if anyone knows how to fix this, please tell me. When you are entering an new contact phone number in the Macbook WHY does it make you enter the dashes. It should know you are entering a phone number like it does on the IPHONE.Also, why doesnt the main screen of the IPHONE text area not have a comma? text messages dissapearing iPhone

Hi, I had the very original iphone and just upgraded to the 3gS. I synced it with iTunes and it loaded up all my old settings just fine--contacts, past text messages, pictures etc. My problem is this:When i receive a new text messages, it would often open a 2nd entry for a text conversation with the same person. I thought maybe since the update it got confused, so i deleted ALL my texts and started from scratch. Now when i get a new text, i can see it on my main screen when it beeps and says New text from ____ and shows the message but when i go to SMS, there is still absolutely no messages there. I can send messages just fine, and it will keep the sent message in my SMS tab temporarily, but when i receive i response (which i can read on the initial beep you have new message...) it disappears completely. I have noticed that since the recent OS upgrade, when i receive a text message the name appears on the screen and says text message. But on the old OS you could turn this off if you went into the Passcode Lock in Settings. Does anyone know if this can be done anymore am i just completely blind and cant see where to turn it off again, so that when a message comes through all you hear is the message tone and nothing is displayed on the screen??!!P.s.
