If email has PDF attachment I cant read text portion of email iPhone 4

I noticed that if the message had a PDF attachment, then that icon is all I see. The text portion seems to have been ignored, although I can see it in the preview of the message. Very strange.RgdsKen 2.8 Dual Quad Core Mac OS X (10.5.5)

I just wanted to post this topic as Im curious if the Apple monster will even read this or address them. I hope I get surprised. Apple makes, hands down, the most high quality of devices, but they tend to have it there way more than ours. I guess thats what makes them Apple. Without further ado, here is my list of bugs Ive noticed and I hope youll add to it. I would just love to see Apple address these:1. Performance issues with Podcasts and multiple-tasking. Youll hear stuttering on occasion, sometimes often while playing a podcast or even music. Ive noticed this at random and also at times when the phone locks or when switching out of the iPod.2. I just noticed this one: if you take the time to write on this exact site, you will find yourself getting lost, as sometimes the text goes on, and the screen doesnt follow it. Suprising that even on the iPhones home site, it cant perform the way it ought to. Youll also notice that below here, its asking me what hardware Im using and what OS. It should be clear what hardware Im on and even what OS Im running. Brilliant, considering this is Apple.com, I selected the iPhone 4 section, and the browser can report the os version. Oh wow, I just lost my text again and had to press the expanding icon on the bottom right of this pane. Also, sometimes i lose my text permanently where I should be able to scroll down to find it but there arent scroll bars... The attention to detail of the aesthetics of the phone cant be matched on the outside, but again, leave a lot to be desired on the inside.3. Echo for the remote callers own voice when my phone is plugged into a stereo through the headphone jack. Even when my volume is so low, I cant hear it.4. While heavily texting, if I exit out to the home screen after/during the send of the text, my phone will freeze for a good 60-120 seconds. If I press too many buttons, trying to get it to respond, it will reboot itself instead of coming back to life. Again this only happens (very seldom) when Im sending texts to multiple random people and I abruptly go home while a message is being sent (or maybe received?).5. While playing music, the quality will often drop drastically when entering a game or application that has sounds. This has only happened in two places so far. While talking on the phone, if I go to play music on the iPod to hear in my headphones, and when entering Bejeweled 2 Blitz with the in-game music off and the sounds on, while iPod music is being played. I do not believe this is Bejeweled at fault. Try it, make a call and try and play some background music in your headphones. The quality drops to a very unacceptable level.Thats actually all I can think of for now! Please fix these issues Apple and I will gain a good bit of respect, knowing you heard and acknowledged this. Also, please, everyone post your findings as well, in addition to the Bluetooth, and proximity bugs that have seemingly been addressed but not resolved. iPhone 4 iOS 4 4.0.2, thanks for the option above, and for not already knowing that.

Automatic text While on Phone Call Preset text Message iPhone

I have my first iPhone and cant figure out how to send an automatic text. When I am on a phone call and another call comes in, I am used to hitting a ignore and send text button or something similar that will send a message to the person calling me. This is a preset text that says something like I am on the phone, please leave me a message or similar that at least tells the caller that I am busy. So, the questions are:1. iPhone wont turn on

I think I am fuked. My iPhone was constantly freezing today. I did a reset (holding down home and power button) I did that twice. I wanted to sync my phone into iTunes so that I could have all of my photos on my computer before my phone stopped working. Well no point. Wont sync. I try turning it on and syncing and all it does is show the apple logo then it shuts down. I am about to cry right now because all my photos from my trip and my text messages are gone. Hits the send button so it sends the random text to the recipient.. Then enters another conversation, typing more random text and sends.. And it all happens very fast. Iphone 4 calling issues. screen wont blank out when on call

I am hoping someone can help me. I have just upgraded from iphone 3G to an Iphone 4. When I am on a phone call my face will touch the screen and activate other calls or actions on my phone such as facebook and text messaging. My old 3G phone screen used to black out when on a call so this problem didnt happen. Downgrade from 4.0.2 to 3.1.3 iPhone 3G

Okey, here is the deal.I just got a Iphone 3G and was totally extatic about it and couldnt take my hands off it from about a day (lol). And then i plugged it into itunes today and it told me to upgrade to 4.0.2, so i did... now it takes about 5 seconds to open a text and another 3-4 to get the keyboard up... iv had it less then a day and its already sh*t... iv scanned the forum and im not the only unhappy person, is there any solid way to fix this and downgrade back to 3.1.3? I want my blinking phone to work after iv payed such alot for it =/. Question about screeningrejecting calls etc iPhone 4

Hi, Im new to the forums as of today. I had a 3G for a while, upgraded because of the OS4 issues (to a Samsung Galaxy) then went back and ordered an iPhone 4 instead because, well... I love the interface, apps, and my iTunes music that I was unable to port over. Not a fan of the mp3/computer interfacing of android phones, I think the sync stuff with iTunes is far more user friendly. But...onto my real issue/questionLong story short, I did like one feature from the Galaxy and that was to auto-reject a call with a filler text message such as Im driving or will call back, and I cant figure out how or if we can do this on an iPhone.Ive done some research on this and some google suggestions such as http://www.programmerfish.com/send-auto-sms-on-iphone-4/ say this feature is automatic on this phone since its an iPhone 4 but every time I double click the power button it just sends the call to voicemail with no such interface to send a reject message etc. Does anybody know what the deal is? Multitasking Music and text iPhone

I am considering getting a iphone 4, and selling my ipod touch. Although I like to listen to music a lot and I would also like to text and talk on the phone. Does this phone allow me to listen to music and also talk on the phone at the same time, or listen to music and text at the same time? This would probably be done via bluetooth. I want to bluetooth stream music to a set of speakers (in my car or at home) and still be able to talk and text freely without disturbing my music in the car. Is this possible? Gateway Windows Vista

I am currently using a PC and have my iPhone 3GS synced to that unit.I decided to upgrade my PC to a MacBook Pro two days ago and have received my new iPhone 4 today.My question is – how am I able to get my current iPhone 3GS back up that is on my PC on to my new MacBook pro so that I can sync my music/contacts/notes/messages etc to my new iPhone 4?I have avoided syncing my current iPhone 3GS to the new MacBook as I knew I would be receiving my iPhone 4 this week.Please help – Losing my iPhone data is not an option as I have extremely important contacts/text messages that I need to keep for legal reasons. Keyboard effectiveness degraded after iOS 4 iPhone 3G

Anyone noticing a difference when using the keyboard after upgrading 3G to v4? I used to be able to text pretty quickly with my thumbs (I have small hands). But now it seems like there is either a lag or my taps are not registering. Strangely, its mostly the spacebar. I have it set to the double-tap adds the period, which doesnt always register. Dial strings with non-numerics not pass from email app to phone app iPhone

Ive noticed that I can create a contact with a dial string that includes non numerics, and can successfully place a call from that contact entry. For example, the following dial string, 1115551212,,123456# will dial (111)555-1212, pause for a few seconds, and then enter 123456#. This could be useful for dialing into a corporate voicemail system and then having the phone automatically transmit your password digits so you dont have to fumble with manual password entry.However, Ive discovered that if the exact same string is included in the subject of an email, when you click on the number youre asked if you want to dial the number (same as clicking on any number in an email subject line or text body), but when you click on Dial, nothing happens. It appears that the mail application is unable to pass a dial string with non-numerics to the phone application, even though you can dial the exact same string from a contacts entry successfully.Anyone know if theres a fix in the works for this issue, or possibly a workaround? iPhone 3GS iOS 4

Greetings! Im very new to iPhone and this discussion site, and looking for some answers. Im in Toronto, Canada and I ordered my iPhone 4 from the Apple online store with no voice/data/text plan - I think this would make it an unlocked version. I will get my iPhone 4 delivered tomorrow (at least thats what Fedex tracking site says) and Im planning to use it with my existing Rogers no-term contract for the time being. I hope I would be able to use it also with other carriers, if needed, or other pre-paid (micro)SIM cards. I do have a SIM card on my Rogers no-term contract (obviously) - does anybody know if Rogers will make me buy a new micro SIM card (as this is the only format iPhone 4 accepts)? What if I use a micro SIM cutter and adjust my current SIM - would my iPhone 4 work without having to involve Rogers? I guess I would still have to activate it - is this done using iTunes only, or do I have to involve a Rogers rep?your help is truly appreciated!

Iphone Loosing 3G and or EDGE connection during long phone call.

I have called AT&T twice on this issue and still the problem exists and described to them what I am writing below. However I do think this problem is a carrier issue and not a hardware issue but I do think other users and apple should be made aware of this problem I am having beginning at 19:31 hrs C.S.T. I initiated 1hr and 31 minute phone call. My setting was set to have 3G enabled and 3G data enabled. At the beginning of the call I looked I had 4 out of 5 bars and 3G was indicated on the top left corner of the screen to the right of the AT&T logo somewhere mid stream during the call I noticed the 3G logo was gone the E for EDGE logo was gone , I had 5 bars full strength but no 3G nor E , tried to send a MMS message to the person I was talking too since 3G allows both voice and text or MMS capability. While Edge does not. Of curse the Multi Media message failed indicated on the screen message fail and a red icon next to the picture. So I hung up the phone and closely watched the screen a small circle quickly appeared next to the AT&T logo then it turned to an E then back to a small circle then back to an E this process went on for about 40 seconds then the icon changed to 3G. I made the phone call from my home in central Texas about 20 miles east of Fort Hood in Belton Texas along the I-35 corridor according to at&t map we are in a 3g coverage area. My uncle I was talking to was on I-20 west bound rolling in a semi truck between Fort Worth TX and Abilene TX on his way to Lubbock Texas. This time he was rolling or moving in a vehicle last week when the same problem occurred he was sitting stationary on the east side of Dallas Texas near Mesquite TX. iPhone 4 doesnt vibrate when on call

Whenever Im on the phone and I receive a text message my phone doesnt vibrate. I have it set to vibrate on silent and if the switch isnt moved to silent it makes the sound for a text when Im on the phone but if its on silent it never vibrates.My old 3G would but now this one wont. Weird SMS bug iPhone 4

Here is the weird glitch...first enable SMS character count. When I am typing a text I tried to send my friend the word limon (with the accented o) but the character count goes from n/160 to n/70 (n being the number of characters) and then he never receives my text. I also notice this problem doesnt occur when just typing the accented o by itself, only when I made the word limon. no way to make incoming SMS simply vibrate iPhone

Hi,Am I missing something? jerky Folders animation normal iPhone 4

Hi guys,I have a 16GB iPhone 4 and its now running iOS 4.0.2. I have 58 apps total and about 6.38GB of free space left. On my home screen Ive set up 4 folders with 3, 12, 8, 3 apps in each folder. Every time I tap on a folder to open and close, especially the ones with more apps in them, I get a slightly jerky animation. Like a split second jerk before it opens up totally. Do any of you have this effect on your iPhone 4s? My brother has a 16GB 3Gs also running iOS 4.0.2 and his folders open up smooth like butter even with max number of apps in them. Scrolling text, lists and websites and swipes are all fine. Only my folders opening and closing animation isnt as smooth as Id like it to be.I dont know if i should call this a problem since its really no big deal. Just an irritant. When I connect my iPhone 3G to iTunes and try to update to the most recent software, this message pops up: Updating to iOS 4.0.2 will delete all media, including iTunes Store purchases. To preserve your media, apply this update on the computer where you sync music, videos, and photos. Updating on this computer will only preserve apps, contacts, calendars, text messages, and other settings. Please do not interrupt the update, which may take an hour or longer to complete. iTunes will verify the software update with Apple. It then gives me the options to update or cancel. But heres the dilemma: I recently got a new laptop and am in the process of transferring all my files and data and such from the old laptop to the new one. I read a few posts here about battery drain. Me too! I went to bed with almost a full charge and woke up with it saying Less then 20%. I saw one post that thought it might be texts that you get. Its not every night but I did notice this morning I had 1 miss call and 1 missed text message. There may be a link between missed call and or text messages waiting for you. Hello, Ive got an issue with my iphone 3G with iOS4.Im from Spain and my operator, in this case Yoigo, requires different APNs for Data and MMS.The point is that when the APNs inputed in Settings>General>Network>Mobile Data Network>Mobile Data APN and MMS APN are different, the text inputed in the MMS APN field doesnt get saved. Texts messages are hidden iPhone

Since I upgraded my iphone to os4 it will tell me that I have new text messages on the home screen but when I open messages, I cant see it. I have to use the search option and if I put in the correct contact, it will show up.Once I have read the message, either the blue button indicating an unread message does not disappear or the button disappears but the number of unread messages on the home screen doesnt change.This is leading to me not discovering messages for days or not even realising that I have new messages to read!It is driving me INSANE! How do you text to a promotional code on the iPhone? For example, if the promotion says text 72008 and receive automatic updates, promotional texts, etc. I texted the number but it automatically changes it to 720-08 which comes back as invalid. I cant seem to get it to not try and put it into a phone number format. Also, can I text a code without have a message body? iPhone 4 iOS 4

iPhone4 sending dozens of text messages without my knowledge

I think the iPhone4 has a virus.Since I got it three days ago, it has sent over 48 text messages to SMS number such as 49988 and 2639. The messages are cryptic such as <snip>From: 1613 xxx-xxxTo: 2639August 12 2010 07:43 PMSTATE</snip>It also receives SMS from 49988 like so<snip>From: 49988To: 1613xxx-xxxxAugust 12 2010 07:09 PMREG-RESP?v=2;r=4327d673;n=+16138510973;s=014E647B2CFFFFFFFF94A13D1F520AA05404617C9271159D1E9184CE5E</snip> These messages dont show up in the messages dialog. The only reason I know my iPhone4 is sending and receiving them is that Rogers has a service that provides emails copies of all SMS sent or received.I asked the genius at the genius bar about it and he didnt have a clue.I have seen this behaviour on two iPhone4s (incidentally the first iphone4 I had for only 2 days, kept going dead and required a hard start to get going. I now have a refurb from the genius at the Apple store.) Anyway, if anyone can shed some light on these mysterious messages, I would appreciate it. They are burning up my SMS quota.
