Hi, I recently set up a new computer and connected my iphone to it. For some reason, the iphone will continually connect and disconnect to the computer/itunes.Ive tried a bunch of different stuff but Ive yet to resolve this issue. Im pretty sure its not a problem with usb, because other devices work perfectly. Hoping someone here can share their experiences related to my questions:Im a long time AT&T customer. I was eligible for a phone upgrade last month. My wife is eligible March 28, 09. Wed both like iPhones.Currently, only I have a data plan. We have a Family Plan of 450 shared minutes, unlimited data for my phone (20.00), and 1500 texts for my phone (like, 10 or 15 dollars). We also have a 15% employer discount. Our bill comes to around $95/month.Question 1: If I switch to 2 iPhones with the data plan and 1500 texts, what can I expect the phone bill to be? (after taxes and fees)Question 2: Do I have to wait to upgrade us both, til March 28? Difference in method of outgoing voice-PLEASE HELP iPhone

Im curious if anyone knows if there is different hardware used for outgoing voice when switching from normal talk mode to speakerphone. Im having a problem with my 3G iPhone (version 2.2 software) that could be software or hardware related but Im not sure. Basically, outgoing voice is fine over speakerphone (on EDGE and 3G) and WiFi (using Truphone app) but garbled over EDGE and 3G in normal talk mode. Anyway, if anyone can explain the differences between the outgoing voice in each mode it could probably help me resolve the problem or at least narrow it down before swapping out the hardware for no reason.Thanks. How to manage ringtones Timing of what ringtone not syncing iPhone

Does anyone have any idea if there is an app or a way to manage your ringtones in terms of time of the day? During work hours, I would like my ringtone to be a vibrate, or something unobtrusive, since its quiet. However, outside work hours, Id like it to be something more obtrusive so I dont miss it. This is similar to profiles for blackberry users. Any ideas? I dont see anything in settings, but not sure if Im missing something, or if there is an app that would provide this functionality. Is it possible to use the iPhone 3G as just a phone? Ive read other forum posts about people turning off their edge/3g networks to prevent their iPhone from connecting to the internet and at he same time retaining the voice plan. I was told by the ATT CSR that the iPhone 3G uses the internet to make and receive phone calls and removing it would be suicide because they charge $10 a kilobyte, is this true? I just need people to confirm what the truth is and such. Unfortunetly, this being the second iphone i purchase due to having my previous one stolen, i then agian misplaced it. I do know this one was not stolen but was completly my fault. This brings me to my question of, how come apple cannot locate my phone using the amazing gps the phone already had available on it?. A charge would be completly appropriate, but i believe it would just bring somthing more to the table. Everyone at one point either misplaces or reports their phone stolen, so why not a nifty idea of having the phone completly trackable so no one would ever even think of stealing this phone again? i think this is a great idea, but perhaps i am over looking an application that is already available. please, and references or commments, i am more than happy to listen to. iphone 3G windows XP

iPhone Outgoing Voice Garbled on 3G and EDGE

About 3 days ago, I started to experience an issue with my 3G iPhone running 2.2 software. On incoming and outgoing calls I can hear the person on the other end but my voice is garbled and/or filled with a lot of static. This occurs on both the AT&T EDGE and 3G networks with and without the factory-provided headset. However, if I switch the speakerphone function on, both parties can hear each other normally. What I thought was particularly interesting is that when I use Truphone to make a VoIP call, everything functions normally as well. While I first thought that this could be some sort of hardware issue, the last test made it seem more along the lines of a software problem. I have powered on/off the phone, rebooted the phone, restored it to backup and restored to a new phone all with the same result. Has anyone else experienced this issue and been able to resolve it? I have an appointment at the Genius Bar on Friday but am hoping to be able to resolve this on my own.Thanks. HP windows XP

iPhone sound not working on games 3G

I have the iPhone 3G. The sound for the games worked when I first got the new phone but now it doesnt.. I have done everything I know to get the sound to work (turn up volume, sound settings, etc).. Still nothing..The iPod feature plays sound through the external speakers so I can still listen to my music files. The telephone part works.. Even Pandora will play sound.. Yet Bejeweled, iSlots, and a few other games will not play the sound that I know works on others iPhones..Any suggestions? Dell LapTop windows Vista

Home button doesnt work iPhone

When I press on the Home button, nothing happens. When I press on it a second time, it takes me to Favorites as if I had done a double-click on the Home button.The phone still can send and receive calls, and can sync with my computer. I just cant get to my home screen.The phone also doesnt power down. Holding the power button does nothing until I release it, after which it goes into a sleep mode.Trying to reset the phone doesnt work. Problem updating to 2.2 iPhone 3G

1. I have now updated my Iphone three times. This last update was to 2.2 from 2.1. My Lenovo X300 WIN XP PRO will not finish the installation it just hangs checking the phone. I have to connect the phone to another computer preferably a Mac and then complete the recovery process. I know many others have had this problem. Any hope for a solution?2. The second problem was the most frustrating. After updating to 2.2 my downloaded programs had disappeared. During the software upgrade process it did a successful backup and I restored after updating (otherwise I wouldn’t have had my contact music etc.). iPhone 3G-Dead on Arrival

On 24Dec2008, I decided to do a handset upgrade with Vodafone (in Australia, we have mobile phone contracts, and to keep you with them the telcos will offer deals if you sign for another 24 months) to get a 16Gb iPhone 3G.I took it home, plugged it into the AC charger, then I plugged it into my laptop.Nothing. The Apple Logo appeared on the iPhone screen, but (the latest version of) iTunes didnt open, and my computer (a windows XP OS) did not recognise that a device had been plugged in. I changed USB ports, to no avail. I got my sons iPod Nano, plugged it in, and recognised immediately.I went online, saw lots of hints and tips, and tried them (including holding the Off and Home buttons until the device turns off), still nothing.An important note - I have not attempted any hacks - I am quite happy to use the iPhone on my Vodafone network.So my Christmas was ruined.I took the phone to my local Vodafone dealer, only to be told I had to take it to the dealer that I got it from. I took it to the Apple shop, and after he moaned about people buying Apple products from somewhere else and expecting Apple to support it, he at least tried to initialise it for me. No luck.So I rang the place that I got it from (they are about 70 km away from where I live, so I wasnt going to drive to them for no reason), and they said they would order me a new one. It is now the 7th of January, and they are telling me maybe next week.Is my iPhone truly dead, or is there a secret thing I havent tried yet? I am almost ready to go get a Blackberry Storm. Reboot Iphone once day

So I got my new 3G iphone one week before XMAS and after a couple of days I noticed that: 1. my phone is unresponsive after finishing a call. (requires a reboot occurs at least once a day)2. Apps close all of a sudden when in use. I took my iphone to the apple store last week to the King of Prussia store and I was told that this was occurring because the iphone software was corrupted and that a system restore would fix this. A couple of hours later the same problems kept occurring. I restored my phone two more times at home, but I still kept having the same problems. I also synch my phone daily. I made another appoint for today and a different guy at the genius bar told me that this occurring because my system memory is low and that caused my reboots. He even said that everyone that has an Iphone or any smartphone should reboot their phone daily. I was really puzzled and upset that he told me I have to reboot my phone once a day. I have never heard this before and I wanted to know if other people have been told this, or was this guy just full of it. My iphone was replaced and I have not seen this problem occur so far. iPhone speaker not working

Serious problem here! Audio just stopped working using internal speaker. Went to YouTube to show a friend how it works, and video was fine, but no audio. So I switched to iPod mode, NO AUDIO!!! Sorry that was a little vague due to space limitations.. Basically, I got a replacement phone, and the guy at the genius bar said that my data would be restored to it when I sync it. Im a little concerned because sync-ing just got the black data off my phone when I had installed enterprise support months ago. so I thought Id ask if I should be doing anything special for the first sync to get as much info back in the phone as possible. side question: I noticed I have none of my address book despite using my old sim card. Some small problems with my new 3G iPhone

Having some small problems with my new iPhone, nothing major, just annoying.1. When I plug my iPhone in to charge/sync my Adobe photoshop keeps trying to download the photos on my iPhone, which causes an error message from Adobe that it cant download and it stops all syncing and removes my iPhone from iTunes. I have to unplug and reinsert USB cable and sometimes it works ok and sometimes I have to reinsert again. Also when charging, it will disconnect, reconnect and the samething all over again, photoshop trying to get photos and an error message.2. Cant send e-mails via 3G?
