Non Ear Bud Headset with Controls iPhone 4

I cant stand ear-buds, but I love the inline controls that come with the iPhone ear buds. I see lots of on-ear and over-ear headsets with volume control, but nothing with the advance/reverse buttons. Does Apple (or anyone) make non ear bud headsets with the full inline controls? And if not, why dont they? Lots of people dont want to ruin their hearing completely, or find ear buds very uncomfortable, or have hearing aids, etc. PC windows Vista

Music suddenly starts playing on its own iPhone 4

I have a iPhone 4 (32GB) running 4.0.2 and over the past week or two I have noticed that once in a while whatever music I have currently paused on my phone will just start to play. In fact it just happened again now. The iPhone was just sitting on my desk next to me in sleep mode and the music just suddenly started to play on it. It happened a few days ago as well when I was walking around a store with the phone in the side holster I have. I have tried rebooting the phone (even a hard reboot). Is there some app that might be causing this? Many times it has happened the iPhone is in sleep mode (screen locked) so it isnt as if me touching it in some way would do that. It happened again today when I ran the Weather Channel app on the iPhone the iPod started to play. Very strange. Intel Core i7 920 windows 7 64bit windows 7

CLEANING OLEOPHOBIC SCREEN iPhone 4

A friend has been cleaning his IPHONE4 with various cleaners intended for cameras, LCD and other lenses. After 2 months his screen lost some of that nice shine and glare. Be careful what you are using on the screen as chemicals will damage it. windows XP

3G update to v.4.0.2 heads-up iPhone 3G

Just updated to iTunes 10 & then ran the OS 4.0.2 update on the phone. Shut down the phone & restarted it after syncing and the thing couldnt fine my SIM. Rebooted again & still couldnt find it. Shut down & removed/replaced the SIM & restarted and it found it. So, just wanted to throw that out there in case someone else has the same problem. Now I wonder what else Im going to find. Updated iPhone Photos Lost

HelloMy computer was stolen some months ago and I have only just replaced it. This means I had been nervous about losing or breaking my iPhone because it hadnt been backed up in so long.I tried backing up my iPhone tonight on my new computer, and also updating it with the new software, which it did at the same time, but in the process I have lost most of my photos (I had 1100, but only 154 random photos are remaining).Does anyone know how to get these photos back? cannot connect to itunes iPhone 3G

Guys,I have windows 7 x64. My wifes 3G just wont get recognized by itunes 9. I have opened a ticket with Apple where they made me uninstall and install itunes like 4 times already, had me do a bunch of stuff but nothing has worked. I finally installed itunes on a XP machine and it was able to sync fine but I have no idea what the issue is on the windows 7 machine that wont let itunes recognize my phone. itunes works fine with my 4G but whenever i connect the 3G itunes just freezes up for a while and then nothing. I do hear the connection sound when i connect the phone which tells me windows recognizes the 3G being connected but itunes does not.If anyone knows a fix for this, it would be very appreciated!thanks,Ken windows windows 7

use Skype on iphone4

Hi,I was wondering if any of you knowledgeable people could help me. I have an iphone4, and my daughter has a Mac with a web cam at college. She is able to video chat on her computer, and does so with friends computers, but when I try to Skype her (I downloaded the Skype app on my phone) her mac and my phone dont offer the option to video with each other. Is there a fee that has to be paid for me to be able to do this, or am I doing something wrong? (I can face time with my husband on our iphone4s so I know the video button works) If I cant video with her, Skype is a waste to have, because I can just call her to talk to her on the phone. I have a 3G iPhone with software version 4.0.2. and iTunes (in Spanish) version 9.2.1., after connecting the iPhone to your computer (windows XP) copy the data from the iPhone and is not synchronized, the Apps and iTunes music will not appear on the iPhone.Any ideas? windows XP

A new game centre dedicated to muliplayer games will also be added. I was wondering if anyone here had tried using a bumper and a screen and back protector. I am currently using my Luxe original because I do not want to scratch my back. I would rather use the bumper for cosmetic reasons but do not want any scratches. iPhone 3G no longer recognized by iTunes

I dont know what happened. I havent changed any settings on my pc. I updated my phone software to 4.0.2 last week with no apparent problems. I think Ive charged on my pc since but cant remember for sure. Now when I hook to usb, it goes on and off. Like not the power, but it (the iphone) will connect and show charging and I get the windows message that the apple camera is connected and what do i want to do. then it blinks off, like shows my welcome screen, not charging. then a few seconds later it shows up again and shows to be charging. it goes through this over and over. And iTunes does not recognize the iphone, says an error occurred.Any thoughts or suggestions? Dell XPS 410 windows XP

iPhone wont connect sync show up in iTunes-HELP

Hi All,I recently moved my iTunes library from my PC to Network drive.During the move due to my stupidity I lost my playlists.I have 2 x iPhone 3Gs and a 160GB iPod classic.The iPod classic can sync with iTunes no problem.When I try to sync either of my iPhones nothing happens.I am using the same cable as my iPod and it starts charging the phone.My PC recognises the phone as it asks me if I want to few photos.However iTunes does not recognise the phone.I am not sure what to do as nothing has changed with the exception of where the music is located.Does anytone have any suggestions?I have been trying to get this sorted for the last 5 days with no luck. windows XP

URGANT iPhone 4 stuck on recovery mode

I just got my iPhone 3 days ago! (Saturday) I went over to my cousins house to add some songs. When I connected the USB cable to his computer and my iPhone it went straight into recovery mode. I thought it was his computer so I went home to my computer and the same problem occurred! I searched everywhere to try to solve this issue. I even downloaded some stuff that supposily forces iDevices out of recovery mode but nothing worked. I also tried holding the 2 buttons and bam, nothing. Please, anyone with a solution, please help me.update Whenever I try to restore, I get an error message. It happens for firmware 4.0,4.01, and 4.0.2. Hi, when I go in a shop and loose signal, I have noticed it stays on searching.... Even when coming back out of the shop where there is good coverage. Wont SYNC iPhone 3G

Im trying to sync my iPhone through iTunes but its not working. First it says something about a duplicate file. Then it says an internal device error has occured. It also sometimes says the required file cannot be found (Im trying to sync a new ringtone onto it and I have NOT moved any previously synced files).I have the latest iPhone update and the latest version of iTunes. iPhone wont turn on

I think I am fuked. My iPhone was constantly freezing today. I did a reset (holding down home and power button) I did that twice. I wanted to sync my phone into iTunes so that I could have all of my photos on my computer before my phone stopped working. Well no point. Wont sync. I try turning it on and syncing and all it does is show the apple logo then it shuts down. I am about to cry right now because all my photos from my trip and my text messages are gone. Synching New IPHONE 4

Ok..so I recently upgraded my IPHONE to IPHONE 4. Now I was not that great in synching the old phone iwth I Tunes but I did have my contacts and photos up to date on the phone itself. When I got the new IPHONE 4, I went to the Apple store so they can transfer all the photos and the contacts...it worked great. When I got home, I plugged in the new phone and everything went out of wack. I tunes went to the last backup of the old phone which was 4 months ago and updated the new IPHONE with outdated information...What do I do? Belkin Clear Hard Case iPhone 4

The Shield Micra case. This was my free case through the case program. Cant say anything good about it. Literally 3 cents worth of plastic and the top and bottom are completely open and not protective at all. Opening for volume buttons is too small btw. No one with average hand size will like it. I have another clear case I really like (no brand from handhelditems.com). But I thought, well try the Belkin. A half hour later I finally succeeded in getting my phone out of the darn thing and had to be VERY careful not to damage the phone in the process. There is NO EASY WAY to take the phone out to clean. My iPhone 3G clashes when upgrading from 4.01 to 4.02

I need some help or advice. My iPhone crashed when I upgrade from 4.01 to 4.02. It asked me whether I would like to reset. I said yes thinking it will take me back to 4.01. Actually it takes me back to the day I purchased the phone. That is to say, I lost all my programmes ( I can download them again). The worst part is, I lost my phonebook and emails account. Battery percentage issue iPhone 4

When I charge my phone to 100% overnight (wall) and unplug it, the battery literally drops to 99% within a minute of usage (email checking etc). It happened this morning and then I rebooted the phone which knocked it back to 100% for an extra 10 mins or so till it went to 99%. It also seems to drop fairly fast...I tried exiting all my background apps which helped a bit but not really. restoring the phone, etc...Ive got push email on, wifi on, push notifications on, Bluetooth off. Right now Im at 88% battery usage with 1 hr 5 mins usage (browsing) and 1 hr 22 mins standby. Does this seem weird?Ive restored with backup, restored as a new phone and same problem. I was thinking it might be a rogue app but Ive exited everything - an app couldnt cause battery drain just by being installed could it? Dell windows 7

Syncing Bookmarks Creating .dat file iPhone 4

Every time that Im syncing my bookmarks some 300 .dat files are created (*.dat.*) as a bookmarks in IE, scattered around my favorites. Battery Charging Life Span iPhone 4

Hey!First and foremost, I would like to thank the community here who have provided really amazing comments and tips about the iPhone. As I am still pretty new to the Apple family and with my very first iPhone, I would say I have gleaned a lot from you guys! Thank you once again as you have been a really great help in my journey of discovery and learning. I have been doing a lot of reading up on battery management as after deducing what I have learn, I would like to ask if what I have is right. As we know, the battery of the iPhone is extremely important and I happen to be very particular about it. Smartphones are never known for their extraordinary battery life considering all the fantastic features it holds. Therefore here is what I have found out:1. It is highly recommended to keep your iPhone plugged in whenever you can (if you are not moving about), especially at the office or when you are sleeping at night. 2. Unlike conventional phones, the iPhone has a special battery management system that prevents the battery from overcharging. Therefore you cannot overcharge the phone and leaving it plugged in for the whole time you are at the office or at night will not damage the battery.3. In fact, keeping the iPhone plugged in either directly to the dock or original USB wall dock is said to keep the battery in optimum performance and life.4. It is also advised to use the iPhone while it is plugged in for battery intensive applications like 3G / wifi serving, video playback, 3D gaming or movie editing (yay to iMovie!). This is because you are actually using the AC power instead of the battery. This follows on even after the battery has been fully charged. Doing this too does not damage the battery.Now with these findings, I would like to ask if these were so, does that mean if I am to keep the iPhone plugged in for the most part of the time with the exception of it unplugged during my travels and movement about, that the battery Life Span would be prolonged? This is because rather than using the battery and having to go through the charge cycles more regularly, I am using the AC source more regularly now.Does this theory hold true and will the Life Span of the battery be prolonged?With all these said, I do understand the iPhone is meant to be a mobile device and the Apple Care Plan does take care of the battery replacement. Ok i got the iphone4 and sold my ipt and hhone 3g to a friend, his sim card is in he can recieve calls and text but for some reason no ring or text sound and volumn is all the way up and it plays the sound when u choose it but not if recieve call or text, i restored back to factory settings and updated the phone to the newest updates, he can make calls and send texts but for some reason no sound. help would be appreciated. dell windows 7

iPhone Speaker Busted

The one where you hear calls/listen to voicemail..that speaker.Okay, I got syrup in the speaker, & tried getting it out with my nail & then used a toothpick. I got all of the syrup out, but when I checked my voicemail right after that happened, you could barely hear anything. I also made a phone call, still couldnt hear. I can plug my headphones in & hear. This also happened to one of my old phones (PalmCentro) but I fixed it by pushing the speaker back out from behind. iPhone you cant do that, because theres no way to push it out. random clicks and moving dead spots iPhone 3G

Anyone know why my iphone 3 would have dead spots that appear sometimes, appear in different sections of the screen, and sometimes are not there? Also, there are times when my phone just clicks on stuff by itself. Ive tried cleaning the screen, not using a screen protector and even getting a new digitizer, but no luck. Any ideas? Syncing new iphone 4 problem

I am computer illiterate. I have a new Iphone 4, which is recognised by itunes (an account created for use with my ipod touch). Whilst podcasts are synced I cant sync the complete music library, it seems only to sync a couple of albums purchased through itunes and not find about 20gb of music I have in the library.
