Hi. I recently updated my itunes to ver 10.2.1I am now using a 16GB iPhone 4 but i used to have an iPhone 3GS.I didnt have any problems with my 3GS but for some reason I cant download the iOS 4.3 software using my iTunes for my iPhone 4.I tried using other iPhones with my PC but it seems that the iTunes in my PC is the problem because the other phones can download the iOS 4.3 using other computers.I tried reinstalling iTunes but that didnt solve the problem. So what I did to upgrade my phones iOS is I downloaded the iOS from a website and then i held the SHIFT key before clicking update in iTunes. Now my iPhone is running iOS 4.3 but I would feel a lot better if someone can tell me how I can get my iTunes to download the iOS directly from Apple.I did the network connectivity diagnostics test and this the result:Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 6002)Dell Inc. Iphone 3g, running 2.1 - will not sync. Have tried three computers, three cables, include my PBook 15, fully current - that works fine with my phone and has also synced with this phone in the past. Also, tried Windows XP, and Windows Vista-64 - which had worked in the past too. When plugged in - the phone starts charging but no itunes recognition on any of the systems. DFU mode - nothing. Resets, nothing. Complete reinstalls of itunes - nothing. Seems like this is an actual, real life, hardware problem in this phone unless there is another magic reset. Ive examined the connector under high magnification - seems to be undamaged and clean.Any ideas? Ok I have a faulty iPhone4.Two weeks ago it ended up in the washing machine... not a full cycle because I realized it a few minutes in that it was in a pocket and I couldnt find it.So I took it out of the washing machine (it shut itself off, btw), and I dried it with a towel and a blow dryer on cool. I headed out to the store and got a bag of dry white rice. When I got home, I took apart the iphone and put it in a bag of rice (known trick to dry out wet cellphones - works for many people). Now I tried getting it working again in a few days, but I have the same result, so back in the rice it went. Now today is the two week anniversary of this event, so I figure if I cant get it to work, its hosed. So heres what happens...Without the battery, if you plug it into the PC, the screen comes on and it shows the new iTunes icon along with a usb cable pointing to it. iTunes detects the phone in recovery mode and attempts to update it. When it goes to update, it reboots the phone maybe 3 times. You see the screen flash, then apple logo, then the connect to itunes screen. So that happens a few times and thats it. iTunes will say error 1611, the phone remains on the Connect to iTunes screen. So with the Battery inserted, its a different experience. First of all, its much harder to turn on. Im not sure how I got it on, but it was some combination of holding home and the power buttons. So it shows the apple logo, then a usb cable with an arrow pointing to iTunes. Again iTunes detects the phone in recovery mode so I click Restore. After iTunes extracts the software and does preparing iPhone for restore, the iphone screen flashes white then black, and then shuts off. In the meant time I hear the Windows 7 device connect / disconnect sound a few times. So iTunes effectively shuts off the iPhone, and then I take it after awhile it times out and presents an error 1604.Any ideas? Is this thing hosed? The screen is flawless. Right now Im using an old slow as a snail 3G. I was able to use electrical tape and finagle the microSIM in the correct position in the 3Gs sim card tray, so Im not without phone service. Just the 3G is so slow and the VNC program doesnt even work on it (crashes- I think it doesnt have enough memory). Anyway Id love to get the iphone4 back to life, its amazing how much you miss it when its gone.Heres some of iPhoneUpdater 15.log dated today.2010-12-18 18:45:28.413 8840:1e34: <Recovery Mode Device 00ACA4D0>: operation 4 progress -12010-12-18 18:45:28.453 8840:1e34: bootstrapping restore with iBEC2010-12-18 18:45:28.460 8840:1e34: <Recovery Mode Device 00ACA4D0>: operation 31 progress -12010-12-18 18:45:29.460 8840:1e34: <Recovery Mode Device 00ACA4D0>: Recovery mode succeeded2010-12-18 18:45:30.083 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::OnInterfaceRemoval: ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{ED82A167-D61A-4AF6-9AB6-11E52236C576}IB0000#3b5b4e6f2010-12-18 18:45:30.132 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07507c58, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:30.132 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07752038, notify: 2, connected: 12010-12-18 18:45:30.132 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::NotifyDisconnect: IBOOT, IBOOT ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{ED82A167-D61A-4AF6-9AB6-11E52236C576}IB0000#3b5b4e6f, inst: 0x77520382010-12-18 18:45:30.132 8840:1bb0: IBOOT, DFU ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{B8085869-FEB9-404B-8CB1-1E5C14FA8C54}0000#3b5b4e6f, inst: 0x77520382010-12-18 18:45:30.132 8840:1bb0: _AMRecoveryModeDeviceFinalize: 00ACA4D02010-12-18 18:45:30.174 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::OnInterfaceRemoval: ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{B8085869-FEB9-404B-8CB1-1E5C14FA8C54}0000#3b5b4e6f2010-12-18 18:45:30.176 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07507c58, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:30.176 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07752038, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.405 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::OnInterfaceArrival: ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{ED82A167-D61A-4AF6-9AB6-11E52236C576}IB0000#84d584302010-12-18 18:45:39.405 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::AddAppleDeviceToDeviceList: ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{ED82A167-D61A-4AF6-9AB6-11E52236C576}IB0000#84d584302010-12-18 18:45:39.430 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::EnumerateHubPorts: DoesDriverNameMatchDeviceID failed2010-12-18 18:45:39.458 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::EnumerateHubPorts: DoesDriverNameMatchDeviceID failed2010-12-18 18:45:39.485 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::EnumerateHubPorts: DoesDriverNameMatchDeviceID failed2010-12-18 18:45:39.513 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::EnumerateHubPorts: DoesDriverNameMatchDeviceID failed2010-12-18 18:45:39.513 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::CreateDeviceLocationID() failed, Error: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.513 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::AddAppleDeviceToDeviceList, CreateDeviceLocationID failed 2, error: 1359.2010-12-18 18:45:39.513 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07507c58, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.514 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07752038, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.534 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::OnInterfaceArrival: ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{B8085869-FEB9-404B-8CB1-1E5C14FA8C54}0000#84d584302010-12-18 18:45:39.534 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::AddAppleDeviceToDeviceList: ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{B8085869-FEB9-404B-8CB1-1E5C14FA8C54}0000#84d584302010-12-18 18:45:39.561 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::EnumerateHubPorts: DoesDriverNameMatchDeviceID failed2010-12-18 18:45:39.581 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::EnumerateHubPorts: DoesDriverNameMatchDeviceID failed2010-12-18 18:45:39.618 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::EnumerateHubPorts: DoesDriverNameMatchDeviceID failed2010-12-18 18:45:39.645 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::EnumerateHubPorts: DoesDriverNameMatchDeviceID failed2010-12-18 18:45:39.645 8840:1bb0: AppleDevice::CreateDeviceLocationID() failed, Error: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.645 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::AddAppleDeviceToDeviceList, CreateDeviceLocationID failed 2, error: 1359.2010-12-18 18:45:39.645 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07507c58, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.645 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07752038, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.743 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::OnInterfaceRemoval: ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{ED82A167-D61A-4AF6-9AB6-11E52236C576}IB0000#84d584302010-12-18 18:45:39.746 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07507c58, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.746 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07752038, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.802 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::OnInterfaceRemoval: ?USB#VID_05AC&PID_1281#{B8085869-FEB9-404B-8CB1-1E5C14FA8C54}0000#84d584302010-12-18 18:45:39.805 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07507c58, notify: 2, connected: 02010-12-18 18:45:39.805 8840:1bb0: winamrestore::ProcessDevNodesChanges: device: 0x07752038, notify: 2, connected: 0Message was edited by: cypherx PC Windows 7 Iphone4 4.2.1

A while back my laptop crashed, so I am now using my dads laptop. I downloaded iTunes 10, then plugged in my phone. It started a backup but froze. I updaated the software on the iPhone to iPhone1,2_4.1_8B117_RestoreI started to sync some new podcast and apps that I found, and releazed that all my data on the iphone was gone, even before I started the sync. I tried to restore with a backup, but it does not work. I tried to restore with RESTORE because my iPhone no longer appears in iTunes, but it did not work either. I also uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled, I shut down the iPhone and started it again, I shut down the computer, and nothing, is my data somewhere in my dads computer? Can I restore any info? I tried to restore the contacts, but it is not working either. And now I can no longer access my iPhone in iTunes, my computer only recognizes it as a camera. Here is a list of the actions I took: 2010-09-29 16:36:32.131 5548:13f8: restore library built Aug 6 2010 I am having some problems. I replaced my iPhone 3G screen and got the white screen and was told to restore the phone. I did that. Now It just reboots continuously and sometimes has the little loading symbol that spins like when you are loading a video. The iphone is on iOS4. I have tried both restore mode and DFU mode. I am able to reload the OS on itunes but it just does the continuous boot all over again. Here are some logs i found. Ever since the 9.1 update I have received the error stating iTunes was unable to load dataclass information from sync services and have not been able to sync my iPhone to my laptop PC. I have tried the following with no success:1. Reinstall iTunes2. Per a suggestion on the forum I ran MobileMe to look for an error when that started up, but it started no problem.3. Look for duplicate .dll files on my pc, but none were found4. Checked http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2690 , but none of these apply.I can sync the phone up to another PC. Does anyone have any suggestions? Below is the diagnosis I ran. Thanks for any help you can give.Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)Dell Inc. Hi, hope someone can help me. I connected my iPhone to my computer to transfer my photos from the phone to the PC. I have automatic syncing turned off. When I connected, I was prompted to update the iTunes version, which I did. Its now version 9. Then I attempted to update the iPhone version. I got a message saying I had to transfer my purchases first, which I did. Then I tried the update again. The update seemed to take awhile, then I got a message saying it failed. There was a More Information button which just prompted me to send info to Apple, which I did. Unfortunately I didnt save the info. At that point all my iPhone info no longer showed in iTunes, and the only active option is Restore. It does say Your iPhone software is up to date, which would seem to indicate that the update did work...I tried disconnecting and reconnecting my phone. When I do this, I get the message iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.I would rather not Restore the phone unless I have no other options, since I have 600 pics, contacts, etc on the phone...Of course not backed up since this is the first time Ive tried to transfer data.So I tried a few things:I disconnected and reconnected the phone several times.I restarted the computer several times.I went to the Apple site and tried the troubleshooting steps for stuck on connect to itunes screen (which is what my phone is currently doing).I ran the diagnostic checks in iTunes (output below - I ran this while the phone was plugged in yet it says its not found).I held down the Home and the Sleep/Wake button until I see the Apple icon.I went to My Computer > Manage and tried to update drivers, but the phone doesnt show in the device manager. I tried a different USB port and there are no other devices connected to the machine.Nothing worked, my phone is stuck on the connect to iTunes screen and I get the error message every time I plug it in. I havent tried another computer bc I dont have one and Im not sure how to create/use another user account on this machine.I wouldnt mind calling support but my phone doesnt work...Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.============Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)ASUSTeK Computer INC. 1005HAiTunes 9.1.0.79QuickTime 7.6.6FairPlay 1.7.16Apple Application Support 1.2.1iPod Updater Library 9.0d11CD Driver 2.2.0.1CD Driver DLL 2.1.1.1Apple Mobile Device 3.0.0.102Apple Mobile Device Driver 1.46.0.0Bonjour 2.0.0.34 (214.3)Current user is an administrator. The current local date and time is 2010-03-31 02:42:39.iTunes is not running in safe mode.Video Display InformationMobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset FamilyMobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset FamilyExternal Plug-ins Information ****No external plug-ins installed.Network Connectivity Tests ****Active Connection:LAN ConnectionConnected:YesOnline:YesUsing Modem:NoUsing LAN:YesUsing Proxy:NoSSL 3.0 Support:EnabledTLS 1.0 Support:EnabledFirewall InformationWindows Firewall is off.Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful.Connection attempt to iTunes Store was successful.Secure connection attempt to iTunes Store was successful.Secure connection attempt to iPhone activation server was successful.Last successful store access was 2010-03-31 02:22:42.iPod/iPhone Connectivity Tests ****iPodService 9.1.0.79 is currently running.ituneshelper 9.1.0.79 is currently running.Apple Mobile Device service 3.0.0.0 is currently running.Universal Serial Bus Controllers:Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB Universal Host Controller - 27C8. Unable to load dataclass information from Syncservices. Please reconnect or try again later. This has been going on for weeks. Now that I updated to the new firmware, I had to restore my iPhone, because it stopped working altogether. After buying a new laptop, I installed iTunes 8, and all went well. When the iTunes 9 upgrade became available, I installed it, but it was slow and jerky and was not recognising my iphone, and was crashing everytime I connected the phone. So I uninstalled iTunes 9, and reinstalled iTunes 8, but same results; program fine until I connect iPhone, whence it crashes. Diagnostics says that it recognises the phone, but cannot sync. I have tried all USB ports - same result. I have used a different connection cable in all the different USB ports - same result.I have followed all Apples uninstall/reinstall instructions numerous times, but no luck. I have even uninstalled all programs, deleted all directories, and deleted every reference to itunes /iphone /apple /quicktime /applemobileservice /Bonjour etc in the registry via regedit, restarted, reinstalled iTunes 8 and 9 - same result. These are the iTunes Diagnostic results, with iTunes 8 installed:Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (Build 6001)SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. Hi,I bought the iphone 3G yesterday through Virgin Mobile. I was told to activate my iphone I need to sync it with iTunes. I plugged in my iPhone and it try to sync for a while then an error message pops up. (*We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occured. (-50).There was an error in iTumes store. Please try again later*.)Ive tried several things, reinstalling iTunes, change the options in my internet browser (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5), turn off my anti-virus software. But the problem still occur. I can access iTunes store and my playlists etc, but when I click on Sign-in and then click on create new account the same error message pops up again. Ive tried to run diagnostics on iTumes. It says that secure link to iTunes store failed. Ive passed all connectivity and sync test. Hey Guys,I have an iPhone 3G and it worked fine for its first few months. All of a sudden it wouldnt sync or even show up on iTunes despite my HP laptop (with XP) making the hardware found noise when I plug it in and the removed noise when I pull it out.I have tried every USB port, re-installed iTunes, re-started the laptop, re-started the iPhone, been through the diagnostic testing both on iTunes & FAQ. You name it, Ive done it!This is the error code I received after the iTunes diagnostic test:Microsoft Windows Vista Home Edition (Build 6000)Hewlett-Packard HP G7000 Notebook PCiTunes 8.0.2.20QuickTime 7.5.5FairPlay 1.1.11CD Driver 2.0.7.5CD Driver DLL 2.1.1.1Bonjour 1.0.6.2 (118.5)iTunes Serial Number DA45C****7EFCurrent user is not an administrator. The current local date and time is 2009-01-11 23:43:26.iTunes is not running in safe mode.Video Display InformationIntel Corporation, Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset FamilyIntel Corporation, Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset FamilyExternal Plug-ins Information ****No external plug-ins installed.iPod/iPhone Connectivity Tests ****iPodService 8.0.2.20 is currently running.ituneshelper 8.0.2.20 is currently running.Apple Mobile Device Service not found.Universal Serial Bus Controllers:Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2830. I have an iBook G4 running 10.4.11 and iTunes 8.02. I have been previously able to use it with my iPhone 3G with no problems. Abruptly, the iPhone stopped appearing in my iTunes sidebar. I have restarted my computer, the iPhone, re-installed iTunes about 5 times and nothing has worked. The ituneshelper application is running as verified in Activity Monitor. The phone is recognized by the computer since it appears on the USB bus in system profiler and I can view pictures on it in iPhoto. This happens regardless of which USB port I plug the phone into. The phone appears in iTunes on other computers (both Mac and PC).I want to upgrade to 2.2 but I have extensive contact/calendar changes to sync so DFU mode is not a route I am willing to take. What other fixes should I try? iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.11)

DAYTIME: I work on a desktop G5 at my home office. I listen to my music library on iTunes. I charge and synch my 3G iPhone on the G5 desktop. Ill buy a few tunes and load up a few apps to the iPhone.NIGHTTIME: (relax and entertain me self)I have yet to try this.... but before I plop into my recliner and open my MacBookPro 17 notebook, the ONLY way I might guess to duplicate my DAYTIME use for accessing my iTunes Library is this: Firewire connect my MacBookPro to my G5 and transfer EVERY friggin component. I have no idea what the resulting actual state this transfer will produce in my MacBookPro after the transfer attempt? Will my iPhone Apps be intact? Will my iPhone contacts (from G5 Address Book) be intact? Dare I plug in the iPhone to the MacBookPro and try a synch ? Ive spent several hours surfing the web on this and be damned if I can find a clear answer. Lacking any advise from replies on this discussion posting, I would attempt to copy the folders below to my MBP and replacing them with those already on the MBP:Music folder — Containing the iTunes Folder — which holds the iTunes Music Folder, iTunes Library.xml, iTunes Library, iTunes Library Genius.itb, iTunes Library Extras.itb, Mobile Applications Folder, Album Artwork Folder, Previous iTunes Libraries Folder, iTunes Music Library.xml (dated 7/3/07)User Folder: Library: Preferences: com.apple.iPod.plist, com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist, com.apple.iTunes.plist, com.apple.ituneshelper.plist, com.apple.iTunes.00145165fbf8.plistTheres gotta be a better way? And if not, it needs to be invented. This must be a pretty typical use scenario — Desktop and iPhone/iTunes on a work Mac during the day. Notebook Mac and iPhone/iTunes during the night. Synchronization? This support page was interesting -- but talking about iPods, not iPhones. (sigh)http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329(Oh yea. I forgot about the video clips and pictures that Ive loaded into my iPhone from the G5. The devil is in these details)(hmmm.
