iPhone images won t restore after phone reset
Hi, I am hoping someone can help me as my wife's iPhone completely froze up after synching with the latest version of iTunes. In the end, the only thing she could do was re-set the iPhone, thereby of course losing everything. Reconnecting to her laptop restored music and most apps, it seems she has to re-download the other apps again direct to the phone. Now the problem is images. There is an ipod cache directory on the laptop Pictures directory, and in this are folders labelled F00, F01 etc.. and a "Photo Database" file. In each of the Fnn directories is a series of files, called Txxx.ithmb, each of which is about 1,500KB. Doing a backup from the laptop indicates there are about 2900 files overall.Altogether there is about 3GB in this folder, so it looks to be a lot of space. Pointing iTunes to the directory containing all this and synching, still results in zero images being found. She went to the local Apple store for help, to be told these are not the images, but then elsewhere I have read that these are the full files, and this proprietary format contains three different resolution images. If the images taken on the iPhone are not here, where are they? Finally, how on earth do we convince iTunes to recognize these files and imporrt them again? Sorry to be thick but losing everything thanks to the latest iTunes was rather catastrophic! Any help/ideas/suggestions greatfully received... The photo files were a mix of photos taken on the iPhone and images previously uploaded from the laptop. Cheers Chipontheroad

Hi all, everytime I want to edit text I'm entering into the message box, I'm not able to do it, since the cursor always jumps to the end of the text.This makes it impossible to mark & copy some or all text, as well as rephrasing or correcting typos. The only 'workaround' I found is to keep the finger on the target position (and having the looking glass active) and then type one character (or delete on). I'm a little bit curious since my friend and me are experiencing that issue for a long time now though I found no reference on the net for it yet (except one to a wordpress app). It happens on a 3GS as well as on a 4, at least all 6.* versions of iOS, with the previous (2.3.1) as well as with the current Viber version (3.0.0).Also experienced on iPad (3rd gen, cellular edition) with 6.1.3 / 3.0.0 Any hints or tipps are very welcome! Before I purchased my iPhone 5 on 12/31 I read a lot of reviews saying how updating the version of iOS from the original one that comes with the iPhone 5 has a bad effect on battery life. Because of the countless reviews featuring this complaint, I have never updatd my software from iOS 6.0.1 since I got my phone over 4 months ago in fear of experiencing future battery life problems. 6.1.4 came out a week or so ago and I'm wondering if the battery life issue has been addressed by now. If I choose to update, will my iPhone eat up battery life faster? I am very meticulous with closing apps and being able to go over 24 hours without having to charge my iPhone. Please advise. Thanks!
Was able to get an HK iPhone 5 replacement in Canada
My iPhone, purchased in Hong Kong, suffered water damage in Canada and the personnel at the Apple store was unable to provide me with a replacement phone. Their reason is that HK model is different from the North American versions that they carry, hence replacement would need to take place in Hong Kong Apple stores. I am wondering if it came across anyone's situation where they were able to get a replacement iPhone 5 in Canada, even though it is not the North American version. Alternative solutions are also welcomed. Thanks!

Following the most recent ios version update, my iPhone 5 completely crapped out and had that little usb symbol on the screen. I called Apple...they walked me through transferring all my almost 3000 photos/videos to my computer (obviously not able to do through iTunes/iCloud when my phone wasn't functioning). I asked if everything else (about 250 apps...no music) would be in the most recent cloud backup which was only a couple hours before the phone crapped out. They said yes. I did the restore and only about 30 of my 250ish apps restored! I never saw all my apps in my iTunes for some reason and all the apps that I can see in my iTunes have been restored. I wasn't at capacity for iCloud storage either because it happened a couple months ago and I bought more storage space. I've only been an iPhone user since Dec 2012 so PLEASE HELP if you can and let me know if there is anymore inof you need from me to help me troubleshoot. PS=I use a good 30-40 of those apps while I'm running experiential marketing campaigns in the field...one of which is a HUGE campaign I'm managing starting tomorrow. As golfer I would like to use my Iphone for distance measuring on the golf course instead of a dedicated Golf GPS device. There are a number of such applications avaliable. The issue is that USGA and R&A (the owner of the golf rules) will render the device (my Iphone 4s) non-conforming when its a compass istalled on the device! If it would be possible to reemove the compass I can use my Iphone but I'm not aware of any possibillity to do that. Is ther any?! Ideal would be if the (visuable) compass application have to be installed from Apple Store as optional in next OS version!

Issues after 6.1.4 update iPhone 5
IS anyone else having issues after the 6.1.4 update? Here is what I have experienced in the last two days. 1- Unable to access a locked or secure network. It asks for password initially. When entered, it is unable to connect. I restart and then go to Settings, find the network and click. I never get a prompt for the password, just "Unable to Connect" 2-Bluetooth. I can after a few attempts to connect my Bluetooth headphones, only after I get a "Failed attempt" a few times. Then only music works, unable to make phone calls. This happens with two different products. A SENA SMH 10R and LG HBS 700. 3- Music play - I found this issue out when trying to figure out problem with Bluetooth. I can start to play a song fine, but if I click on the ">>" or "<< " it freaks the player out and then skips multiple songs or stops play and goes back to the playlist. At first it was doing this with the Bluetooth headphones when using it to make selections. So I deleted the devices and the iPhone continued to do it when selecting functions on the screen. Some playlists did it and some don't. Creating a new playlist did not help. Additional Info.Apple Store replaced my iphone on Saturday 5.4.13 because if antina issues. The issues above came after I restored from backup and updated the OS. I have erased the phone 2 times since getting the new phone and restored from back up and rebuilt from Itunes and neither way makes a difference above. What is going ON? After my latest update on my iPhone 4 my phone started just shutting down and restarting by itself. I have tried to restore the phone with the latest version of iTunes but now get the error message that iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode. Well that's fine, I selected recovery and when it appears that the recovery mode is going to go through the recovery mode returns an error code. The first code I received is the error 1656, then a 26, then the final attempt I got an error code 21. This phone has never been dropped, mishandled, or taken any physical damage. It was working great before I attempted to update. Please if anyone else has experienced this let me know how you resolved these errors. I have attempted every trouble-shooting step indicated on the Apple support site. HELP!

I accidentally deleted my iTunes library. How I transfer contents of iPhone to new iTunes library
Okay. So this was what happened: I was updating my iTunes library to the latest version. All of a sudden, my netbook crashed and eventually was hanging. So I removed the battery and restarted my netbook. I later found out, my iTunes got deleted. I didnt panic at first since I deliberately deleted my iTunes before and reinstalled it again finding all my files back in the iTunes. But this time, when I reinstalled it, all my files were gone! With this situation, can I transfer all my current files from my iPhone to my new iTunes library? I don't mind losing my music but I just want to safely sync my iPhone to this new iTunes library without erasing my current apps and photos. Hope you guys can help me!

No restores resolve it. I have tried all angles of resetting it. To me it looks like the screens are woking but the os is bugging out... I can reset, reboot, restore and it goes throught the strange black and white screen (obviously the apple logo startup screen - then goes to the multicolored line screen - which is some freaked out version of the home screen.

I'm new to the iphone; I switched from android. I'm trying to find a data app similar to what I used on my old phone. It would show me the data amount, allow me to put in the data limit and start date. It would also show me the apps that were using the data. The app was Onavo count I think. I tried the iphone version and its not the same. It wants me to set up a VPN?-is that safe? I just want a good data app that is accurate and allows me put in my data limit and start date -bill cycle date. Is there an app free or paid; free hopefully that will do that? I have an old 3G as well as a 4S. Initially I set up a separate iTunes account for the 4S as I was worried I'd lose my old apps for 3G (as older, compatible versions aren't kept in the iTunes store so once they're gone, they're gone...). 3G is set up to sync with iTunes, 4S is inly syncing mail and conatcts through Exchange but hasn't been synced with an iTunes library for the reason above. Is there a way to sync both phones off the same iTunes account, so I can set up each phone with some music, as well as apps, without iOS 5 versions overwriting the exisitng apps for the 3G? To complicate things further, I don't want to sync photos, contacts, messages, etc. I just want to avoid having to duplicate all my music and pay for all the apps all over again. Suggestions? Cheers
iPhone 4 stuck in Apple logo screen
I have an iPhone 4, that I had to replace the LCD, power switch - proximity sensor cable, and home button on. After I had made the repairs (after making sure everything was reassembled correctly) I then proceeded to turn the device on.Now it will only display the Apple logo at startup.When I turn the phone off (via the Home + Sleep/wake method) it will sometimes revert back to the Apple logo screen. I have reset the phone (gone through recovery mode) at least 5 times to correct the issue, yet it still is not working correctly.The only software change that had been made to it, was that I had updated it to the most recent version of iOS. And that was approx. 2 weeks before the issues with the phone.Is there another solution to fixing this phone, or is it basically done? (If I can, I really need to get this phone fixed (if at all possible).Thank-you.

hi, tonight my iphone5 camera stopped working. i am running os version 6.1.3 when i select camera app it opens but appears with the shutter stuck in closed position and nothing will unlock it. i have tried the following: 1) hard shut down phone & restart2) reset phone3) done a restore from back upnothing worked. anyone have any suggestions please? thank you,wayne
new iPhone 5 no sound
Hello, I bought a iPhone 5 64gb yesterday from a dealer, went home & tried to change the ringers & noticed I don't have any sound at all.Yes, I had tried the switch on the left side of the phone. Music plays with headphones, paused music took the headphones out & tried playing a song to no sound yet again. Did a factory reset, nothing. Have the current version of iOS. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Cannot figure out how to set a sound alert for Find Friends notifications. I only get an alert banner but not sound which seems more useful when waiting for notifications.I have the latest version and cannot find anything close to setting this up, maybe there isn't????

Windows 7 Laptop and Iphone 4S
I have a laptop with Windows 7 with current version of ITunes 11.0.2.26 and have the IPhone 4S with the current iOS 6.1.3 Itunes is seeing my IPhone, but the laptop is not seeing it properly. Once the IPhone is connected it will charge and connect to ITunes, but Windows doesn't show the device as having the proper driver. In "Hardware" setting of the laptop, the IPhone doesn't show up so I can not make the IPhone to show up in My Computer as a hard drive device. My reason to get this to work is to remove the videos from my phone. I have tried to use ICloud to transfer to other devices and download, but it won't accept videos just my computers. I need assistance to get the IPhone to show up as a hard drive, but as previously mentioned the problem lays with the laptop not having the proper driver. I have done the following corrective measures: Uninstall and reinstalled ITunesI have held the powere and home button on the IPhone while being connected to the laptop.I have looked into registry correction, but the incorrect text is not in the registry. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to lose these videos because non compatibility issues. If this is going to be on going occurrence I will have to give up using Apple products. Thank you.
