Hello Dear Sir/Madam, I want to ask a question about my broken iphone 5 screen. Unfortunately, I could not find a discussion title about that topic. The subject is that I want to change my broken iphone 5 with a new one paying $220 and giving back to you mine. And my question is what am I required to do that in any apple store in US. Could you give me the details about like do I need to give back my iphone as the way I bought it I mean with all iphone stuff like charger and headphone.. etc. And the additional and important question is here, I need an official paper written by Apple, which says that the old iphone is changed with the new one (indicating the IMEI numbers of both) to use it in my country legally, because I have already payed tax amount for the old one and I registered with the old one so to make the new one active.In my country,then legislations say that each person has a right to register only one mobile phone in 2 years; so  I need to prove that the old one is given to back to  your side. Is that possible? If you can answer my all questions as soon as possible I will be glad becuase I will be in New York in a few weeks so I need to learn all details about the topic to be prepared. Thank you.

Greetings.  Trying to set up new iphone 5.  Backed up iphone 4 (old phone) with icloud.  In going through the set up process with iphone 5 (new phone) I am stuck at the "choose backup".  It is not allowing me to select the most recent back up because "No iCloud backups are compatible with the versin of IOS (6.0.1) on this iphone).  Any suggestions?   Thanks.

iphone 5 won't wake up from sleepstandby

Hello, I am having a really strange problem with my iphone 5 for last 3-4 months. Sometime when i want to use my iphone from standby/sleep mode it dosent do anything! sleep/wake button, home button even silent/sound button dosent work. I know the silent/sound button dosen't work cause normally it vibrate when I turn it on. So the problem is my phone wont wake up from sleep/standby mode. The screen stays black and nothing works. If i press the home button and power button for 10-15 time very quickly, then it takes a screen shot and wakes up!! Sometime it stays in this stage for 5-10min. So here is what i did to solve the problem.1. I restore the phone from phone and ituens.2. I delete all icloud backup and started as a new phone3. I went to apple store and replace the phone with a new one!!4. I jailbreak it at last to see if it solve the problem!5. turn off the icloud to see if it works And sadly nothing of all this solved my problem! Now im not sure any specific app causing the problem but it almost impossible to find it out. So if anyone have any similar problem or any suggestion to solve it, then it will be really helpful.

URGENT HELP iphone 4S

Last night i went on my phone to make a phone call but all my contacts were somehow deleted i tried turning off my iphone and then turning it on but still had the same problem. I dont know what to do i had icloud but never used the backup for it infact i had not signed in to it till the next day. I somehow managed to get a few of my contacts back through my messages. There were many important numbers in there. To top it off the most important thing to me was all my information on my calender list like my appointments, and many other important events. I do not know hot to retreive it if anyone could please help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you

Hello Everyone Who loves Apple most I DO Anyway I would like to make this chat about the iphone 5 like for tips and tricks and stuff like that but first of all... How do you save battey life. I close all the apps in the multitasking bar, turn the brightness down to 50%, turn the weather and stocks widget off, set the nonifications I want to reminde me, and I also, turn off WiFi and 3G when not using it but my BATTERY STILL GOES TO QUICKLY! backup Issues Deleting Other Files iphone 4S

I recently replaced my iphone screen and afterwards I discovered that my camera roll had crashed. With it, I lost all of my pictures and videos. Luckily, I recovered them from a program that I had downloaded. However, the storage that used to take up my photos and videos on my phone had transfered to the "other" section on itunes. Is the only way to remove/decrease the storage of the "other" file by restoring your iphone? I don't want to restore my iphone because I am also having issues with backing up my phone. Whenever I try to back it up on itunes, it says "the backup was corrupt or not compatable with the iphone". My phone has never been backed up because of this issue, so if I were to restore my phone then all off my files would be deleted. I have tried reseting my phone, but the "other" section is unchanged. Is there anyway I can delete the corrupt files on my phone? I have tried removing all pictures, videos, apps, and music in an attempt to discover the source of the corrupt files but I haven't found them. Also, if I was to "restore backup" with my iphone from my ipad, would that mean losing my messages? 

Crashing and screen flickering problems. iphone 4

I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iphone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple Store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone.However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iphone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "Restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info.She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iphone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!

Fixed my phone but display still doesn't work iphone 4S

4S got run over by a car. I changed the broken display, functionality (sound, vibration, cameras, wireless, mobile data, emails and other notifications come in, I can here SIRI, etc.) is working (tested via cylay).  Battery always low and phone turns off pretty fast after unplugging from the charger. Plugged in it turns off itself after about five minutes and restarts immediately again + display doesn't work (sometimes gets bright but there appears no clear picture only some grey tones). It worked about three times though that the display was clear and I could use the phone for about five minutes before it lost its picture again.  What could be broken?

iphone images won t restore after phone reset

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me as my wife's iphone completely froze up after synching with the latest version of iTunes. In the end, the only thing she could do was re-set the iphone, thereby of course losing everything. Reconnecting to her laptop restored music and most apps, it seems she has to re-download the other apps again direct to the phone. Now the problem is images. There is an ipod cache directory on the laptop Pictures directory, and in this are folders labelled F00, F01 etc.. and a "Photo Database" file. In each of the Fnn directories is a series of files, called Txxx.ithmb, each of which is about 1,500KB. Doing a backup from the laptop indicates there are about 2900 files overall.Altogether there is about 3GB in this folder, so it looks to be a lot of space.  Pointing iTunes to the directory containing all this and synching, still results in zero images being found. She went to the local Apple store for help, to be told these are not the images, but then elsewhere I have read that these are the full files, and this proprietary format contains three different resolution images. If the images taken on the iphone are not here, where are they? Finally, how on earth do we convince iTunes to recognize these files and imporrt them again? Sorry to be thick but losing everything thanks to the latest iTunes was rather catastrophic! Any help/ideas/suggestions greatfully received... The photo files were a mix of photos taken on the iphone and images previously uploaded from the laptop. Cheers Chipontheroad

Please help- its my understanding that iphone stores where you have been (location history). when I was searching the Internet to see if I could access this info, I found Pete wardens iphone tracker download (I think it came out in April 2011), but then I read that apple fixed this problem of storing this info on your computer too, by releasing a software update shortly after. Is that correct? If I backup my iphone to computer will it have a file on there that stores the history of where I and my iphone have been? Or is this no longer the case? I desperately need a log with time stamps, I need to prove where I have been in the last week (marriage problems). iphone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used

I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me.  About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped.  It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again.  It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back.  I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff.  SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty.  I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Hey everyone, so as an ongoing issue i have around 9.5gb of 'other' data on my 16gb iphone 5. i have restored my iphone from icloud and a pc backup. Set up as new iphone. and restored from back up. deleted every app and reinstalled them all. i have deleted music and reinstalled it. i went through the phone with iexplorer and tried to find the files and its just not happening. HAS ANYONE GOT A CLUE ON HOW TO GET RID OF THIS BUG?!

My iphone 4s has a bad operating system (confirmed at Apple Store)  I was given a new device and we restored my settings, etc. from backup.  I was warned that there was a possibility of the glitchy iOS being transferred to the new device.  Well after a couple weeks, this proved true.  Next step is to restore device as NEW.  Before I attempt this, I would like to be as prepared as possible to avoid losing anything permanantly.  I am looking for advice with this - since I won't be able to restore from a backup, will I need to create a new iCloud account?  Can I remove previous backups from both iTunes and iCloud?  Thanks in advance for any help! This has been an ongoing issue since I purchased the phone new in January and it's beyond frustrating!

Just did restore but only 30 of my 250ish apps restored PLEASE HELP iphone 5

Following the most recent ios version update, my iphone 5 completely crapped out and had that little usb symbol on the screen.  I called Apple...they walked me through transferring all my almost 3000 photos/videos to my computer (obviously not able to do through iTunes/iCloud when my phone wasn't functioning).  I asked if everything else (about 250 apps...no music) would be in the most recent cloud backup which was only a couple hours before the phone crapped out.  They said yes.  I did the restore and only about 30 of my 250ish apps restored!  I never saw all my apps in my iTunes for some reason and all the apps that I can see in my iTunes have been restored.  I wasn't at capacity for iCloud storage either because it happened a couple months ago and I bought more storage space.  I've only been an iphone user since Dec 2012 so PLEASE HELP if you can and let me know if there is anymore inof you need from me to help me troubleshoot. PS=I use a good 30-40 of those apps while I'm running experiential marketing campaigns in the field...one of which is a HUGE campaign I'm managing starting tomorrow.  I'm toally FREAKING out right now with my apps not all restored even though the restore is complete. PLEASE HELP -super grateful in advance Julia

iphone 4 gets very hot

Hello everyone. I have an iphone 4 16gb with iOS 6.1.3, so yesterday i was using it normally, put it back in my pocket with 36% battery. After 1 hour or so i pick it up again and I had a nasty surprise the phone was very hot and battery drained down to 15%, i didn't have 3G, wifi, bluetooth, locations or other stuff or apps running, the phone was in standby. I get home and try to do a restore and i got another surprise, while it was connected to the PC instead of recharging it the battery went down and the phone shut off. Managed to restore it eventually, it stopped heating in standby but whenever i am at the menu doing nothing again with no apps or other stuff turned on it starts to get hot in the upper right part, people say it's the CPU..i don't know what to think anymore, last time it did this a restore solved it but not this time..any ideas?

This has been going on for a while now. It did have some sort of hot and cold phase. E.g. one day the speaker for Siri works then the next it doesn't. But now it doesn't work completely. It's been really bugging me.  I've been hearing a lot of rumours that the iphone 5 has had loads of technical problems. Such as, delivered broken and certain other things that do not work. Knowing if this is true, I do not know. However, the iphone still works when I am on the phone to people.  People have suggested to me to restore my phone to factory settings. I have backed it up onto my PC, then did a full restore, then restored my backup. How I restore my Outlook calendar after it got deleted when I synchronized it with my iphone

I synchronized my iphone with iTunes and my Outlook calendar.  By doing so, I deleted all of my Outlook calendar events in Outlook and on my iphone.  How do I reverse that action?  I tried restoring my iphone with the backup.  when I do this, my calendar events come back on my iphone but as soon as I plug it into my computer, it syncs with iTunes and deletes everything all over again.  I have tried changing the sync settings to not sync the calendar but it still synchronizes and deletes everything.  PLEASE HELP!

iphone 4s battery meter unsolved mystery

I have an iphone 4S. In January, I started to notice that it would die at 30-40%. Gradually, it started to stay stuck at 100% almost all day then die around 60-70%. Then it went completely bonkers. It would go from full charge to 15% to 0% in minutes. Plug it in and it would go from 0% to fully charged instantly. I took it to Genius Bar, diagnostics showed the battery was fine and they told me to restore it and set it up as a new phone. That didn't solve the problem. Went back that day and this time, the diagnostics showed the battery was bad so they replaced it. It worked normally for a little bit before it started doing the same thing again. So I took it back and they replaced the phone. After a few weeks, the same thing happened with the new phone... stuck at 100% for a long time, dies at ~70% (keep in mind I set it up as a new phone so rule out any software issues from a previous backup of the original phone). At this point, I'm thinking it's a faulty charger or something that's screwing up the hardware. So I was back in the Apple Store again. They replicated the problem and told me to restore the phone and set it up as a new device. Having been through this before, I asked them to restore it right then and there because I knew it wasn't going to fix it. Sure enough, it happened after the restore. So they replaced the phone again. That was three weeks ago. I started using a completely different charger (Apple charger, not third-party) and even changed outlets, but the new phone is doing the same thing again. Over the weekend it died at 48%, then 50%, now 56%. I don't know what to do anymore. I can probably go get the phone replaced again, but it probably won't make a difference. Any suggestions? I've done several hard resets, tried to calibrate the battery, let it run out completely and sit there for a couple hours before plugging it back in...nothing works.

Hi Everybody!I got a factory unlocked (originally was Vodafon locked) iphone 4s with firmware 6.1.3.when I insert my sim (Hungarian Telenor) when only EDGE is on it founds the signal and seems like everything is working.After a few hours or sometimes even a day passes by a phone stays on full signal with Carrier logo and Edge on, but my friends reporting that they cant call me(like im offline) and i cant make calls either.The interresting stuff is that the Edge connection is fully working during that im offline for my friends via Calls and i can send and recieve imessages and viber messages.when i switch 3g on it disconnects from service drops the EDGE and never finds the way back and stays 'searching' or 'no service' at all.. I thought that its my Carrier's fault so i went to spoke with them and tried 5different micro Sims( cause i wrote that 4s-s are sensitive to SIM card types).. this thing not worked either, Then i tried the phone with a T-mobile SIM card.. it does the same..connects to the services,but with 3g switched on not finding service..so totally like with my sim. Here Comes the bumm... i Tried the phone with vodafone sim and everything works.. simple connectivity to 3g with full internet usage,can make and recieve calls...I spoked with all of the Carriers and also Apple and no body can give me nothing..the phone is off varranty so changed to a new one isnt an option..Anybody? Something? im beginning to give up .. please help if you can..Thanks!!   ps.:i restored over 20times,reset network settings,switch off and on automatic setting time.. every little possible things that people wrote on forums before..

I had to take my phone in because the camera was broken.  I backed up the data on itunes and took the phone into the Apple store.  They gave me a new phone and said to just restore it from my latest backup.  when I select the restore point to use, itunes asks me for a password.  I didn't set a password when I backed up the old phone and iTunes doesn't accept my iTunes account password.  How can I get my new phone restored with the backup I did just prior to giving my phone to Apple?

Another iphone disabled question- iphone 4S

Hi All, So I have disbled my iphone 4s by forgetting my passcode (like it seems many other people do!). Also as the phone went dead as I was away for the weekend the SIM is also locked. I have often backed it up to iCloud but I never had the camera roll back up option ticked as I cannot see it when I sign into iCloud. I dont have iTunes on my laptop or access to the original iTunes where it was synced a year and a half ago. My question is can I get the phone unlocked by Apple? ( I have the IMEI number and proof of purchase) Is there any way of keeping or getting my photos/videos and messages? when I had my phone plugged into the laptop and was clicking backup through wifi will this have also backed up my photos? Thanks!

Just had to restore my iphone 5 for the latest update (btw, why?!), and the latest backup iTunes will let me restore to is 11/18/12 (the day I started storing all backups to iCloud).  Using my iPad, I accessed iCloud and it said my iphone was just backed up on 5/4/13.  How do I restore with the iCloud backup instead?  Thanks very much,

Issues after 6.1.4 update iphone 5

IS anyone else having issues after the 6.1.4 update? Here is what I have experienced in the last two days.  1- Unable to access a locked or secure network.  It asks for password initially.  when entered, it is unable to connect.  I restart and then go to Settings, find the network and click.  I never get a prompt for the password, just "Unable to Connect" 2-Bluetooth.    I can after a few attempts to connect my Bluetooth headphones, only after I get a "Failed attempt" a few times.  Then only music works, unable to make phone calls.  This happens with two different products.  A SENA SMH 10R and LG HBS 700.   3- Music play - I found this issue out when trying to figure out problem with Bluetooth.  I can start to play a song fine, but if I click on the ">>" or "<< "  it freaks the player out and then skips multiple songs or stops play and goes back to the playlist.  At first it was doing this with the Bluetooth headphones when using it to make selections.  So I deleted the devices and the iphone continued to do it when selecting functions on the screen.  Some playlists did it and some don't.  Creating a new playlist did not help.  Additional Info.Apple Store replaced my iphone on Saturday 5.4.13 because if antina issues.  The issues above came after I restored from backup and updated the OS.  I have erased the phone 2 times since getting the new phone and restored from back up and rebuilt from Itunes and neither way makes a difference above. What is going ON?   Message was edited by: Karl Kroeker  Corrected Version update

Spyware is very easily accessible and requires nothing from the Apple store, and although I realize some of these posts are several years old-at this point, it is simply misinformation.  All one needs is a similar program to the one in the link above and not only can your sms messages be accessed, your calls be intercepted and recorded, but the camera in your phone can be remotely accessed and activated at any given time without your knowledge.  As you tap away on your handy little iphone you love so much, in whatever possibly "compromising" or embarrassing position you may be in at the time, a creeper can be looking you straight in your face or observing your enviornement at their leisure.  Imagine the horror in finding out that you were sitting there on the toilet gaming and someone was watching you the whole time or better yet, while you were involved in an intimate interaction while your phone sat charging on a dock on the nightstand next to the bed?  How about knowing that every incoming and outgoing communication is recorded and documented for the creep to scroll and read through like a book?    This is some scary stuff, and it's been used on me via an encrypted picture message.  I've done a full restore of my iphone and the pc used for backing up via iTunes to ensure that the spyware wasn't then rooted into the pc or the iTunes, and was even told to create an etirely new Apple ID, but aside from this and there being no true scanning software for malware, spyware or viruses for the iphone-how can I be sure that this encrypted software has truly been eradicated?  Is there an antiviral program that I am unware of?  I'm not looking for a secure AVG browser, I'm looking for a detect and destroy scanner program. <Link Edited by Host>

Hi everyone. Day before yesterday in the evening i was talking to my friend and once i finished my call, i hangup the call. Suddenly i realised my external speakers were not working. i havent backed up data for more than 5 weeks so i decided to update my iOS from 6.1.2. Then i connected my windows laptops with itunes 10.6 i tunes i tried updated my phone. now my iOS 6.1.4 but i cant fix that external speakers problem. It wasnt working still. I forgot my backup password How I reset it iphone 3G

I upgraded to the new iOS yesterday, and just before that, I backed up my phone. Now it asks for a password in order to restore my old content to my phone. I don't recall creating a password. How can I reset this password?

since updating to 6.4.1 my iphone 4s Wifi has been greyed out i have reset back to factory settings backed up lot nothing works help

i have backed up my device several times - restored from backup and restored to factory settings - ive cleared network settings - turned phone on and off - turned airplane mode on and off - checked my router... its not like ive not tried to fix it myself i can seem to get the wifi to work its just completely greyed out so i cant even switch the thing on  anybody help me out ???

Can I recover my iphone backup encrypted password iphone 5

I forgot and (apparently) didn't write down my password for encrypting my iphone backups in iTunes (on a Windows 7 PC). Is there anyway to undo encryption or reset the password without erasing and resetting my iphone to factory defaults? Thanks for you help (hopefully).

iphone 5 keeps shutting off

About a month ago my iphone 5 turned itself off. It does this now a couple times a day and I have to hold down both the menu button and the power button for almost 10 seconds to have it restart. Lately, I go to take the phone out of standby and it shows a power cable conneted to the iTunes logo. I still have to hold down both the menu button and the power button for almost 10 seconds to have it restart. The phone holds its charge and I make sure I am charging the phone everyday. Not sure what it is causing this. This morning when the power cable and the iTunes logo appeared I plugged the phone into my computer and opened itunes. It found the phone, but said it needed to repair and install everything from a previous backup. So I did that hoping that would solve the shut down issue, but it did not. Has anyone heard of this happening. The phone had been working great. Any thoughts?

MY iphone 4 16GB IT SWITCHES OFF AUTOMATICALLY EVEN when I HAVE MORE THAN 60 BATTERY AND when I CONNECT IT TO MY LAPTOP IT restarts WHAT COULD BE REASON PLS SPECIFY AND SOLUTIONS FOR IT SHOULD I VISIT AN APPLE STORE FOR IT

My iphone 4 switches off automatically with 60% battery balance and doesnt start, also when i connect it to my laptop it starts back and shows the battery balance and it stay on for another few hours even without recharging. what is the reason for this. do i need to take it to the apple store to get it checked pls inform as its a costly phone and i cant just take it to any roadside person. awaiting your reply

It's happening to me again iphone 4S

This problem has happened to me with two DIFFERENT iphone 4S's in the last two weeks.  I went as far as backup/restore with the first one before I went in the the apple store and they replaced the phone.  Now it's happening AGAIN with my new phone.  After the replacement, I restored my settings onto the second phone and the wifi worked for about a week and a half before the mute button started going crazy, then the phone wifi stopped working as an option.  Tried reset, hard reset, reset network settings to no avail.  Any ideas?

iphone apps not opening-have tried all usual fixes

A few days ago I got my iphone unlocked from my provider (Telstra) as I am about to travel and wanted to put a country specific sim in it. Since then no non-Apple apps have worked.I have tried (many times) to :- 1. restore from a previous backup (plus multiple syncs) and using different backups2. delete an app and reinstall it3. download a new free app (and when that didn't work I deleted it and retried installing it)4. sign in and out of the app store on the iphone5. sign in and out of the app store on my iMac6. de-authorise and re-authorise my iMac7. wipe the iphone clean and start with a fresh install8. And reset the device too many times. Nothing I have found on any site has worked. I thought the wipe the phone clean would have done it but it hasn't.I have wasted about 20 hours trying to get this thing working again. If I wasn't going on vacation tomorrow I would be at my provider getting them to fix their mess but I can't. Can anyone help? Please?  iphone 4S (Apps are active - just won't stay open)
