hi basically i got an iPhone 5 on contract from Carphone Warehouse (it has 1 year warranty from apple) about a month ago, It had a few small scuffs out of the box which i didn't really worry too much about at the start however i used a case i purchased through the apple store taking it off and cleaning and putting it back on about every week or so and have noticed some quite bad scratches on the side ( some visible without light shining on them and many with ) i have phoned apple who said they cant replace it as it is not a technical fault ( I did not mention scratches out of the box ) and carphone warehouse told me to speak to apple to get it replaced.Is there anything else I can do? Hello! I live in Singapore. Our service provider allows us calls to countries around the world at no addional cost if we dial 019 first. However, I can't seem to use it with Siri. If i want to call my brother in california, I would have to dia 0191818xxxxxxx   It works when i punch it in, but siri won't actually make the call. says it's unable to. Same with anyone else overseas. (I live in this country alone.. all my family is abroad and I would like to be able to use Siri to make calls to family and friends internationally using 019).  Please let me know if there is a fix for this. I've just upgraded to an iphone 5 and when I'm on a call in the car, the call keeps cutting out and the other party get a message saying the person you are talking to is driving and cannot speak, please wait.  I've taken the phone to an Apple shop and they say it isn't possible for my phone to do this but it keeps doing it.  Any advice greatly appreciated.

I am pretty frustrated i bought a Iphone 4 from a friend for $50.00 USD. I'm very unhappy to say i wish i would of spent that $50.00 USD on a Htc or Galaxy i would like to have a disscussion or for apple to see that all apple devices should have speak to text or talk to text ( Microphone on imessage or the default green message app ) so that people can be hands free when they are texting . Will Apple warranty become void for battery issues if physical damage to phone iPhone 5

Hi, I purchased my iphone 5 in April 2013. I have dropped it down twice since and each time there have been slight damages to the phone. There is a visible dent at bottom right corner (happened 1.5 months ago) and the display is slightly chipped on the top left near the volume control buttons (happened 15 days ago).  Im now having issues with my battery and need to take it to an apple store. If incase there is a major problem and there needs to be a repalcement would Apple refuse to do the same because of the physical damages to my phone? My battery was excellent until now. I usually can manage for 24 hrs without recharge under normal usage (wi-fi on. whatsapp frequently. a couple of hrs over the phone). I havent had any major issues with my battery until a couple days ago. When i leave my phone at !00% charge without any apps running in the background, through the night (8 hrs) the battery drops down to 56%. Normally i wake up to a 95% - 92% battery.  As far as i can remember this has been my recent activity.  * I updated my software (6.1.4) a week ago without any issues with the battery. * I downloaded facebook Messenger and updated Genius Scan. Both have been deleted now, since i doubted these to be the possible culprits.* I have even deleted Facebook.* I have tried Force shut down. Switched off my my phone multiple times. have kept it off for about 15 minutes after power off. * Location services have been disabled for all apps except Google maps.* Notifications mostly banners and sounds diabled for almost all functions. I cannot seem to figure out why my phone is suddenly acting funny! I called to Apple to tech support and they told me they could not assist me because they only assist people from Mexico and Canada, and that I had to speak to an authorized service center in Argentina, so I went to the place they told me, in that place I say they can not sorting the problem, that the only solution is to travel to USA to change.Because they tell me that if in legal terms of the warranty states that if Apple so you can make changes determined through some mail? Why not give me that option? I have the right to use my iPhone in its 100%, the truth that without wifi and bluetooth is how to use it by 50%.Any recommendations?

Iphone 5 connected to USB gives shock when touched to ear to speak

I usually charge my iphone5 with usb connected to laptop. past few days, i got a call while charging the phone with usb. I raised the phone to speak, as soon as it touched left ear, I got a decent electric shock. The shock was pretty powerful. I ignored it first time, but after that, the same happened about 5-6 times. Now I do not speak while connected to usb. But I think this is not a normal behaviour of an iphone since other phones do not shock the user. Can someone help me?

Long story short - went on a 15 mile bike ride with my iphone 4 stuck into my sportsbra - took it out to wipe it every so often, but moisture did get trapped in the case. Anyways, after the bike ride I went to Starbucks, phone was working fine. Pull phone out 2 minutes later - it has shut off. Nothing. Held home screen and lock button together, etc, nothing. Plugged into charger, nothing. I immediately ran to CVS, got rice, phone is in a cup of rice submerged as we speak. Am I screwed/should i go order a refurbished iPhone at the Apple store tomorrow? Or will I maybe be in luck with leaving it in the rice overnight/until Friday? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!!!

My iPhone 5 has a badly cracked display.  As I'm out of the UK at the moment, I took it for a Genius Bar appointment in the USA.  They told me it wasn't possible to get a replacement from them, and I would need to contact Apple in the UK to find out if I could get a replacement shipped to me. Before I spend money on expensive international phone calls, does anyone know if it's possible to do this?  Are there any other ways I can get my screen fixed or phone replaced while I'm out of the UK?

Hi Its becoming incresingly annoying that I'm having to charge my iPhone twice a day. Its always 100% at the start of the day and come around tea time its down to around 30%. I do use it for whatsapp but thats about it during the day and after having an iPhone 3 & 4 I've never experienced such issues. I was told the battery life was improved with the iPhone 5?  My main point is that its not always been like this and with having over a year left on my contract I need to nip this in the bud before it gets any worse. Things I have tried so far (To no avail) Closing all apps that are open.Lowered my screen brightness (I can only just see it)  Any suggestions as neither of the above two have worked. Cheers Gareth

Iphone 5 - No Service & WIFI keeps dropping I recently upgraded from an Iphone 4 to a 5 and since then I am having a nightmare with connectivity.  My phone constantly says No Service or doesn’t pick up WIFI in places my old phone worked absolutely fine.  I am with the same company, Orange, so it isn’t a change to service provider.  I know the phone is at fault as I commute the same way every day etc and never had this issue before.   Any ideas?  Orange (bandits!) won’t speak to me as it is outwith the 14 days cooling off period!

Hi there, I was wondering how I could go about speaking to someone regarding issues with a massive amount of excess data usage since having iphone 4s. I have spoken to my provider and have been advised to speak you regarding this issue. In the last 3 years i have had problems with 5 iphones and each time have been replaced due to battery problems. The only reason I decided to get another iphone was because of this convenience but am starting to get pretty over these constant issues. Iphone 5 battery life great after ios 6.1.3 update

Hello Folks, Created this thread so that people know that not every iPhone 5 has a bad battery issue. I got the iPhone 5 32 GB Unlocked version last week and i was going through all the forums checking the battery issues people had since updating their iOS version. I saw that a lot of people have issues with their battery which put me on backfoot for upgrading the OS. Then too i took the leap of faith with the thought that it is "Apple!!" a premium brand.. And i am glad i did. Now i know a lot of people had issues with the ios 6.1.3 Upgrade. But for me it was smooth. When i got the phone i was by default on 6.0.2 and battery life was ok. It was les than ATT Galaxy S3 i had before as in they battery used to die in 14-16 hours which was not bad i would say.  Since i upgraded, it was on 100% in the night at 12:30 AM. I woke up, and it was still 100%. So stand by battery is super awesome after the upgrade. As for the usage now, it is 4:30 PM here in NY and the battery is about 55%. The stats that i see is 17 hours stand by time and 6 hours usage. So i beleive my battery life is improved. Also my LTE is off as we dont have it in Long Island. In the night I was on Wifi, I am in office now and wifi is disabled, listened to an hour of music on spotify, notifications are off for all the useless apps, mail frequency is 1 hour, use whatsapp a lot. Thats it. So atleast for me, the upgrade was a beneifit. And the battery life has difinitely improved.  PS: I have not created the thread to poke people with battery issues, just an FYI to people that not everyone is having battery issues. Peace....

iPhone 5 ear speaker stopped working.

I have power cycled.I have turned the volume all the way up while in a call.Plugged headphones in and back out. Siri raise to speak also not working. iPhone 5 AT&T black 64Gig.  The ear speaker below the Facetime camera has stopped working.  Sound comes through the speaker phone. Anyone know of a fix, other than taking it in for a replacement? ThanksWillGonz

iphone 5 no audio from speakers

My iPhone 5 suddenly lost its audio function. There is no sound from the speakers: no music, podcasts, ring, ringtones, game sounds, etc. Rings from incoming calls do not sound. Voice mail cannot be heard. When I speak to someone via the phone they hear me, but I cannot hear them while using the phone's speaker.When using the audio-out jack I DO hear sound. Also, the phone's vibrate feature works.This loss of audio occurred suddenly while I was speaking at a desk, not moving. I then checked the Apps, and I found I could not hear their audio output from the phone's speaker. I could only hear their output from the audio-out jack. I have restarted the iPhone 5 several times. I restored the software on the iPhone 5.  I am using IOS version 6.1.2 (10B146). Has anyone had a similar phenomenon? Any suggestions to resolve this problem?

Does anyone have store managers email. My phone couldn't switch off but I never realised until I took flight.But my screen was broken but the staff told me even though he knew  its not due to the broken screen he refused to give me a new phone.Instead I had to pay $200+ to get a new one.I think it depends on who you speak to at that time.

Hello everyone.. I'm very confused here; I own an iPhone 5 which I have on O2. I bought it outright from the Apple Store in Belfast and just transferred my Business Sim to a Nano Sim and use that in the phone. I am going to the USA soon (Miami) to be a leader at a Summer Camp for 9 weeks and need to use my iPhone while I'm over there. I have been researching AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verzion all for prices, but I'm still very confused.. I want to call back to the UK for a low price, as well as use the web for whatsapp and FB messenger etc. Will not be texting back to the UK. I need to know the answer to these questions: 1. When I put my O2 sim into my iPhone (which was bought sim free) does it lock to O2?2. What carriers will support the UK iPhone 5 for LTE? Would like to try this feature out as Northern Ireland hasn't been hit with this yet (probaby never will until 2040 ffs) I understand Verzion will not work as it is CDMA.3. What carrier would be most suited for using in Miami? 4.
