Hello to all! Am new to iphone. Mt previous inexpensive had this feature: I could bar any number from which I get uneeded messages. I have tried to do so on my iphone 5 and have not been able to find such a feature. Is there any such feature on this phone? If not, are there any apps for the same? Thanks in advance.

This whole problem started when I first got my iphone 5 around christmas time of last year. And i did the normal activation of my new iphone and syncing my old iphone 4 with this new phone. I synced everything and it was all good, but i started to get these random text from people in my message log. I soon found out that i was recieving every text that was sent to my sister. And if i replied to someone who was texting my sister it would show up like she texted them, not me on a seperate number. Also when i text my sister she would get the text but immidiatly after i sent her it, i would also get a text from myself saying what i sent her. I will literally get a text message from my own number to myself, (Weird ****). So its like my sisters text messaging is fused with mine. Its only messages though, no images or anything else. In the beginging i didnt care about this becasue she wasnt recieving my text i was only getting hers. But now just today she tells me she is getting my text too. And thats a problem! This problem lasted all the way up to about 2 months ago and then i stopped getting her messages. But i gave one of my friends my old iphone 4 and once they activated it for there own use it started to happen again. They use a seperate plan then i do and there number on the phone is different. Before i gave them the phone i wiped everything off of it. i took off the contacts, messages, everything. They use a different apple account and icloud account now on the phone. So idk why it started up again i need help. Here is some background. My whole family shares the same apple account with everything. We have seperate phones, numbers and data for the most part. But with dealing with Icloud and itunes anything like that, we use the same account. My sister uses a iphone 4s btw. With my old iphone 4 i had no probelms with this, everything was normal. But once i switched to the new iphone 5 this problem has occured. Idk what this is about, i havent heard anyone else with this problem, but i need help! btw my other family members on their phones do not have this problem. So i think it has to do something with the icloud but im not sure! This is a serious problem and i need help! Goodluck!

I want to start over iphone
So I got my iphone 5 around Christmas time, and I feel as though I need to start fresh. I want everything to be as good as new. I am absolutely getting frusturated with iCloud right about now. I already put all my pictures on my computer (not connected to iCloud), and my contacts are in a vCard folder on my desktop. I don't have music on my iphone, and my apps I'd like to keep. How do I back up my iphone to ONLY my computer... When I tried deleting my iCloud account, it deleted everything (including the contacts that I backed up to ONLY my computer). Long story short... Receiving US number s imessages to international number iphone
Hi all, Haven't been able to find anything on this. I have an iphone 4s which I had been using to iMessage over wifi with my friends while I'm in China (took out my Verizon sim card). I got an international (China Mobile) SIM card today after unlocking w/ verizon, etc. But now my old number is not "registered" with iMessage (I checked this in messages on my macbook) and changing my number in my phone isn't helping. Is there a way that I can readd my US number so that when people iMessage my US phone number it goes to my iphone which is now a different, international number? My Apple ID still has my old number registered in it, but the messages settings in my phone show the new international number without a means to add my old number. I'd rather use my US number over my Chinese phone number if theres a way that I can set it back to that number. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I held down the off and home button on my iphone 4S 64GB and i thought it just turned off but it reset the apps and i still have photos and apps and everything but when i open any social aps it comes up with "connect to iTunes to use push notifications" and also before this event i was using iMessage all the time aswell as texting and now when i use iMessage it doesnt let me send or recieve messages anymore on my iphone but it does on my iPad and it lets me recieve Texts. My girlfriend recently broke her iphone 4 and had to get a new phone -- ever since she got a new phone, my iphone 4S is missing hundreds of texts from her. The last text my phone shows from her is from over two months ago. At first I thought that only the iMessages were missing, but we have exchanged hundreds of SMS and iMessages in the last few months and they are all missing. After she broke her phone there were a few days she texted me via iMessages on her iMac -- and those texts are all missing too, iMessages on her computer is also totally messed up. I can understand why she would be missing a few messages on her new phone since she hasn't backed her phone up in a few weeks, and using iMessages between multiple devices is still glitchty -- but why did my girlfriend getting a new phone cause hundreds of texts to be deleted off of my phone? Why no international warranty option for iphone 5
Why is there not an option available to extend the iphone warranty to an international warranty? Especially with a phone that you tend to take with you whenever you travel having to go to the country you bought it originally is a pain and sometimes not feasible. In my case : when I travelled from Hong Kong to a business trip in the Netherlands and then on to the US my iphone 5 got stolen at the airport in Hong Kong. luckily I only had a prepaid SIM for Hong Kong in the iphone so I went online and ordered a new simlock free iphone 5 at the Dutch online Apple store to be delivered in Amsterdam a few days later. So far, so good. I am currently in China and my iphone 5 sleep button broke down. As I had to be in Hong Kong last week I thought I would stop by the Causeway Bay Apple Store after making a genius bar appointment. They checked the iphone 5 and confirmed the sleep button was broken and it would be swapped for a new one. However on checking my serial number they told me I had to go back to The Netherlands to get it fixed.... So here is a problem, I am not planning on being there any time soon. Why is it not possible in the global economy we live in to get an international warranty? I called Apple Care and they suggested I could try in an Apple store in North Carolina where I am due in a few weeks, but they could not guarantee they would swap the phone. Now the end of July I am due in the UK and from what I read now an iphone bought in any EU country could be swapped in another EU country. so that would mean I could swap it in London? Very odd. Always travel with my MacBook Air and MacBook Pro and these do have international warranty.

Hello, and thank you for reading. I have an iphone 4s, and my primary email account is Gmail. I can receive emails, but I can't send them. When I try to click on the little pen icon to write an email, the app crashes/quits and I'm sent back to the homescreen. I saw that most people who can't send email receive an error message, but I've never received an error message, the app just stops. I checked in the Settings, and every thing seems to be in order (I'm not extremely tech savvy, so I could be wrong). I started to experience this problem maybe a week ago. Also, my messages app can be a little sketchy sometimes too. When I'm connected to Wifi and trying to send an iMessage, the message won't send and there will be a little red exclamation point next to the message. My messages app works sometimes, but do you all think that the problems are linked somehow? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I'm out of the office a lot, and it's an inconvinecne that I can't send emails while I'm on the road. I mean, that's why we buy an iphone, right? Hopefully someone here can help me... My iCloud always shows my backup as being 4.8GB, even with EVERYTHING turned off. After downloading iOS 7 I figured out the problem: I have 4.8 GB of "messages (Saved)". This is even after deleting ALL my messages. I'm not sure what this could be. I tried PhoneCleaner, i FunBox, and everything else I can find, but I can't find a way to access or view these messages to delete them. Could someone help me? It's almost 6 months since I've encountered this problem. I already requested my carrier to have my iphone 4s replacedand a series of testing was done to my iphone 4s before they found out this it was defective. Now, I have my new iphone 4s but the same problem was again encountered. The message delivered late and sometimes messages aren't received at all. Though I have a complete network bar as seen on the upper corner of the screen, incoming calls aren't received and outof coverage area. Hope you can help me on this.

I have an iphone 4S. My software and iTunes versions are up to date. My computer runs Windows XP (not so up to date, I know). Here's my dilemma: I'm in the middle of a legal battle (details don't really matter). Point is, I need the ENTIRE conversation to use as evidence in court. Phones are not allowed in the courtroom so I'm left with no other option except to figure out how to print them. I have called my service provider to try and get the transcripts. They told me to call the Apple Help Center. I called Apple, they told me to talk to my service provider. The typical run around. I finally spoke with someone who somewhat sounded like they knew what they were doing, but their only suggestion for me was to download an app that would allow me to export the messages off of my phone onto my computer. Unfortunately, he could not suggest any app inparticular (go figure). Here's my other problem: because I'm in the middle of a legal battle, I'm a little short on funds. Does anyone know of any programs for download that are similar to BackupTrans that I can use for free? OR, there is an app in the AppStore called "SMS Export" made by Fabrizio Farenga for $5.99... Can anyone tell me if this app is worth the 6 bucks to purchase (does it actually work?)? I desparately need this conversation to use in court. Someone please give me some ideas!
vodafone issues iphone 4S
Hi all, i will list my problems and see what you all think,,,,, i have a iphone 4s on vodafone running 6.1.3 firmware, for the first 11/12mths i would say this phone was faultless ( taking around 200 calls a day), recently the phone refuses to make calls and send txt messages, it wont even connect to the internet using 3g, it has to have wirelesss connectivity for the browsers to work. i took it to the local vodafone shop and they insisted it was the sim card at fault, even though i did try it in my other phone (nokia E50-2), so i took the replacement sim anyway. checks already done:- i have taken my vodafone contract sim from the iphone and placed it in the nokia, it works fine sending and recieving both calls and txti have taken my vodafone PAYG sim out of the nokia and placed it in the iphone, it refused to work but worked fine in the nokiai have reset the network settings, i have deleted all apps from the iphone and done a full restore, but it still refuses to workit shows full signal strength all the time where i live, as does the nokia, if i try to call it from the nokia it tells me the phone is not available even though they are sat side by side with full signal, if i try to call the nokia it comes back called failed.i have tried to send a txt message to my own phone number only for it to come back failed, yet in the nokia it sends no problem.vodafone refuse to admit it is a problem with there network and it is an iphone issue, the phone is now 13mths old and out of warranty (typical), i requested the iphone be unlocked from vodafone to check other networks, this has now been done so i put a spare O2 sim in the iphone and it sends and recieves both calls and text with no issues, yet vodafone still say it is not a network problem!!!!!!! is anyone else having similar problems to mine??? or is it something wrong with the phone???? i personnaly think when the phone was updated to the 6.1.3 firmware it has a problem with vodafone, plese tell me what you think, i am going crazy with this phone, cant believe its not kissed the wall or other hard surface yet.

Hi everyone, I have an interesting situation going on here. Today, I had my iphone replaced due to an issue at the Apple store in Las Vegas. I have an iPad in addition to my iphone. Prior to the replacement, my iPad and iphone were fully synced in iMessage. Now, however, after setting this up again, I have lost all of my messages on my iphone. They are still, however, in my iPad. How can I get them to sync back with my iphone? I also had my iphone replaced once before, and I believe it synced right back and I didn't have this problem then (although I didn't have the iPad with me at the time, so that is weird); I don't remember how I did it though. Hoping to get some help with this, thanks in advance!

Hey, there: I have my phone set to back-up to icloud. I assume when it says "screen locked," that means the little toggle on the upper left. In any case, when I am in iTunes, I find my "libraries" file or whatever has all my voice messages. But where are the text messages? I want to both back them up and make hard copies, as I use them for things that need a record. I am of course being clueless. Thanks. Kenneth
iphone 5 doesnt accept ID password facetime and imessage not working
Im not sure if its to do with the new update 6.1.4 but my imessage suddenly stopped working. I checked my settings and saw that my email addresses associated with it were deleted. I would do hard resets but it wouldnt solve the problem. Then imessage was only partially working, sending imessages to certain individuals and text messages to the others. When i would try to add my email it would say that my password or ID is incorrect. I was thinking, no this could not be. I signed in and out of Itunes with no problem. I even signed on appleid.com and it worked. I tried it on my ipad which worked. I was scratching my brains. so I had an idea, I proceeded to reset network settings......BIG MISTAKE!!! Now, along with my imessage and facetime problems, I cannot connect to my wifi at home. when I enter the password it says it is incorrect. I have also tried entering the wifi manually but to no avail. I connected my iphone to itunes but it wont back up my data saying an error occured but it doesnt specify the error. Iv also noticed that if i press and hold an app, and it starts shaking, the crosses next to the apps that I hav purchased whether it is free or not does not show the 'x' next to them so I cant manually delete an app. What is going on? Is so frustrating because now I have to rely on my data and its depleting fast. Iv booked an appointment with the Genius bar for next week but I am hoping I can sort this out before hand. My first iphone and I was enjoying it up to now, not happy at all!

A couple days ago, I dropped my iphone 5 in water. I put the phone in rice to dry out. After letting it sit in the rice for a couple days, I took it out. The phone works completely fine, I'm recieving calls and text messages, and I plugged the phone into the computer and it's at 60% battery. However, I can't access my phone. When I try turning it on, the screen is black, and it remains black. I've tried holding down the power button and the home button, but the Apple logo doesn't show up. How can I get the screen to start working again? I got my phone from Sprint, would I be able to take it into Apple and get help or would I have to go to Sprint?

I just got my iphone 3 months ago, brand new. First, it gave me problems because the lock button stopped working, (an issue I was told by a genius that I would have to pay for because I couldn't drive an hour a way at 16 years old to get to the closest Apple Store), and now it isn't sending text messages to anyone that doesn't have an iDevice. I am so done with this iphone, it's only been three months and I'm DYING to get a droid. i woke up to a black screen, the home button wont turn it on. i have shut off and turned back on from sceen memorization. luckly siri still works so i make calls and reply to messages that way but i cannot see anything im doing. the phone is fully functional i just cant see anything. i have tried to restore it by pressing both the home and lock button at once but i didnt have any luck. is there anything i should try? has this happend to you? should i just take it to the apple store?

When I receive a text on my iphone, it will show that one message an not the rest of the conversation and freeze where I cannot send any messages. I also says I haven't opened the message. I've tried deleting the conversation and it just reappears. I can eventually get it to start working, but it just happens again and is getting more frequent. Any help?

Springboard Problem and Cannot Save SMS messages iphone 5
My wife took her phone to the Apple store for a bad speaker and short battery life. They replaced the speaker and ran diagnostics and determined that Springboard was bad. They can reflash the phone, and she can restore content from the cloud, but will lose all her stored SMS messages. She can do a full backup to our computer, but Apple said if she restores from that, the problem will return to Springboard. This was incredulous to me that Apple would mix data with programs and have this issue. Another appointment at the Genius bar and I went with her. Same story from Apple. They even gave me an analogy that if you car has a problem caused by bad oil and you drain the oil and fix the problem, and then put the old oil back in, the problem returns. I thought a more apt analogy is having to remove the radiator to fix your air conditioner, and putting the antifreeze back in the radiator after reaasembly. It will NOT break the A/C again. I found some third party applications that may do what is needed for $20-$70. The Apple store had their canned spiel on third party applications. Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a workaround? And is it believable that the world's largest technology company still writes their software this way?

Email virus on iphone 5
I received a suspect email on my iphone 5 yesterday, which contained only a web link. I deleted it without accessing the link but despite this my phone sent out mails to everyone in my contacts this morning. I have had two returned as not delivered as they were picked up by the antivirus but assume all the others have reached their destination. Do I have a virus or has my mail been hacked? What can I do to check? Help!
iphone 5 stuck on Searching and will not make or receive calls
As I have stated, iphone will not pick up any network and just stays on searching. Also, when "call" button is "pressed" the buttons does the graphic of being pressed, but doesn't make the call. Also des bnot receive calls or text messages. Have tried turning on and off/rebooting, turning airplane mode on and off, checked to make sure cellular data is on, resetting network settings. No changes. Anyone?
