I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4, I recently went on vacation overseas and was using a gsm sim from that country, naturally the iMessage and all werent working but I figured it was because I was out of the US. Since I've gotten back, and started using my old sim, my iMessage, icloud, Facetime, and MMS messaging aren't working. It wont even allow me to activate, the buttons are gray, it's locked or something. And its not a network problem because my sim is working fine, internet, apps everything. Except for iMessage, icloud..etc. Can anyone help?

This whole problem started when I first got my Iphone 5 around christmas time of last year. And i did the normal activation of my new Iphone and syncing my old iphone 4 with this new phone. I synced everything and it was all good, but i started to get these random text from people in my message log. I soon found out that i was recieving every text that was sent to my sister. And if i replied to someone who was texting my sister it would show up like she texted them, not me on a seperate number. Also when i text my sister she would get the text but immidiatly after i sent her it, i would also get a text from myself saying what i sent her. I will literally get a text message from my own number to myself, (Weird ****). So its like my sisters text messaging is fused with mine. Its only messages though, no images or anything else. In the beginging i didnt care about this becasue she wasnt recieving my text i was only getting hers. But now just today she tells me she is getting my text too. And thats a problem! This problem lasted all the way up to about 2 months ago and then i stopped getting her messages. But i gave one of my friends my old iphone 4 and once they activated it for there own use it started to happen again. They use a seperate plan then i do and there number on the phone is different. Before i gave them the phone i wiped everything off of it. i took off the contacts, messages, everything. They use a different apple account and icloud account now on the phone. So idk why it started up again i need help. Here is some background. My whole family shares the same apple account with everything. We have seperate phones, numbers and data for the most part. But with dealing with icloud and itunes anything like that, we use the same account. My sister uses a Iphone 4s btw. With my old Iphone 4 i had no probelms with this, everything was normal. But once i switched to the new iphone 5 this problem has occured. Idk what this is about, i havent heard anyone else with this problem, but i need help! btw my other family members on their phones do not have this problem. So i think it has to do something with the icloud but im not sure! This is a serious problem and i need help! Goodluck!

Apple recently replaced my broken iPhone 4s with a new one. Everything was great, the backup on my computer worked and I had all mystuff from the day before it was replaced. However, when i plugged it in to add a few new songs, they didn't sync. In fact, my itunes never finshes a sync anymore, it just stops here for no reason. Any suggestions?

So I got my iPhone 5 around Christmas time, and I feel as though I need to start fresh. I want everything to be as good as new. I am absolutely getting frusturated with icloud right about now. I already put all my pictures on my computer (not connected to icloud), and my contacts are in a vCard folder on my desktop. I don't have music on my iPhone, and my apps I'd like to keep. How do I back up my iPhone to ONLY my computer... When I tried deleting my icloud account, it deleted everything (including the contacts that I backed up to ONLY my computer). Long story short... I hate iCloudI want my phone good as newI want my appsI want my contactsI want my text messages if possible.I don't mind resigning into all my email accounts and app accounts. When I do have my iPhone good as new as when I got it, then I will later on ask a question on how icloud specifically works... with such a tight schedule like mine, it is hard to go to the genius bar and ask all of these questions... Hi, I held down the off and home button on my iPhone 4S 64GB and i thought it just turned off but it reset the apps and i still have photos and apps and everything but when i open any social aps it comes up with "connect to iTunes to use push notifications" and also before this event i was using iMessage all the time aswell as texting and now when i use iMessage it doesnt let me send or recieve messages anymore on my iPhone but it does on my iPad and it lets me recieve Texts. Hopefully someone here can help me...  My icloud always shows my backup as being 4.8GB, even with EVERYTHING turned off. After downloading iOS 7 I figured out the problem: I have 4.8 GB of  "Messages (Saved)". This is even after deleting ALL my messages. I'm not sure what this could be. I tried PhoneCleaner, i FunBox, and everything else I can find, but I can't find a way to access or view these messages to delete them. Could someone help me? Today I had my iPhone 5 replaced at an apple store and when I attempted to restore it after leaving it started asking for the password to my old apple id address even though I changed the email address months ago. Is there anything I can do? I really don't want to lose my 100's of pictures. Please and thank you. I'm stressed out about this.

I have been having trouble with my iPhone - sudden decrease in battery life, apps not working, Wifi not working, icloud not working (don't ask me why, but when I go to Settings>icloud>Storage and back up, the toggle is off and greyed out, giving me no option to turn it on). I was advised to back the iPhone up on my mac, reset the iPhone to factory settings and then restore it from the Mac.  So, all my apps have come over, but none of my contacts, SMS's, nothing. I can probably live without the SMS's but it will take me a long time to re-enter all my contacts.  However, they are all still in the Mac.  But I can't work out how to get the Mac to send the addresses back to the iPhone.   As previously stated, the icloud doesn't work, so I can't use that.  I looked through previous entries and the advice was: Open iTunes. Connect the iPhone. Select it under the Devices heading in the iTunes sidebar. Click on the Info tab in the main window. Check the Contacts box then sync. However, when I do this it say in contacts "your contacts are being synched with your iPhone over the air, over-the-air sync settings can be changed on the iPhone" But I don't want them synched over the air, because over the air (I assume this is icloud) isn't working.  How do I set it (either iTunes or the iPhone) so that it synches, via USB cable, with the contacts on my Mac? I am totally, utterly confused and a bit cross as I am now worse off then before I reset the phone and was told that it would just back up from the computer.  And even more annoyed when I know the data I want is all still there (on the Mac in address book), I just can't drag it across.

My power button on my phone stopped working so before I went to the apple store today I backed up my phone to the computer (itunes) instead of icloud. Now I have my new phone plugged in and I hit restore from computer. It restored all of my texts, pictures, contacts, voicemails etc. Most of my apps restored except for like 10 recent ones which were all PAID for apps. Then a message popped up saying not enough icloud storage to finish restoring. Hey, there: I have my phone set to back-up to icloud.  I assume when it says "screen locked," that means the little toggle on the upper left. In any case, when I am in iTunes, I find my "libraries" file or whatever has all my voice messages.  But where are the text messages?  I want to both back them up and make hard copies, as I use them for things that need a record. I am of course being clueless.  Thanks. Kenneth

Using OSX 10.8.4 on a Mac mini late 2012 model, trying to sync Calender on mac to calender on my iphone 5 running ios 6.1.4 No matter how many youtube videos I watch or how many threads I read, my iphone calender will not sync with the calender on my mac. Any ideas?I have both my mac and iphone setup in icloud settings just as described in every video. Everything syncs just fine, from notes, contacts, reminders, photostream, it all works as expected except for calander. Please Help! Thanks,-Dean

But now when I restore from my backup the apps are missing but the rest of the stuff are there such as photos and the Apple's original apps Maps, Passbook, etc. How do I solve this? My phone will not connect to itunes long enough to get it to reset.  Is there any special key combination that I can use to brick the phone so that I can start from scratch, but without connecting to itunes?   The phone will not restart and stay on.  It just continues to go on and off on and off.  I get the apple logo, then to the home screen, but the slide to open bar does not glow, and then it just shuts off and starts over.  It never is on long enough to register with the computer.   I have tried both reset techniques.  neither works.  (holding down home key and on/off key until i see the apple logo, or holding down just the on/off key(never see the power bar).   I have an appointment, but would rather not go into the store.  If there is another way to brick the phone, I could then restore from backup.   Thanks!

When setting up my apple ID i put in the wrong email address initially, I typed it wrong. I resolved this by correcting it with the right email address then popping in the correct password. Everything seemed fine initially. But now I keep getting Apple ID popping up with the wrong email address asking for the password (which doesnt exsist). It doesn't affect anything as when it matters, eg app store icloud etc, it always asks for the password for the correct email address. But this window will pop up constantly, whether I'm in settings, App Store, iMessage.  I've tried looking for a way to stop it from popping up but can't seem to see anything. I really don't want to have to reset my phone so hoping someone out there has some useful advice for me...

I lost all my pictures from Africa on my phone. It was the first time I plugged my iPhone into my laptop and iTunes was there. I did hit set up new phone but it said your phone has been restored for some reason. Lost all my contacts and photos as I didn't realize set up new phone meant it would do that. I thought it was just setting it up as a new file or whatever since it was new. Didn't know about icloud at the time so no it wasn't turned on. Is there any way to get them back? Please help  The guy at apple store said to go do this and then if its on there from the date I lost them (6/2/2013 4pm) then the pictures should be there still. I just dont know how to see them or find out if they are still somewhere saved. They are not in my pictures folder or recycle bin.

Hi there, something weird happened to me and I don't know how to fix this... Now I have about 300 Facebook friends and since the iOS update I have had my facebook friends appear in contacts and I merged the contact in my phone With the contact on Facebook so obv I have it all merged into one, with updated profile pic of fb and link to there facebook all into one neat and tidy  Well for some reason and out the ordinary it has just disappeared, all the fb contacts have gone, when I untick the icloud box on contacts and just the Facebook box when I go into groups only like a handful of fb contacts are actually there....I've tried unchecking the box in preferences and uninstalling the fb app itself to get these all back and pressing update all contacts in settings too and even though I have like 300+ fb it just says updated 16 or something ridiculous.. Anyways really hope someone can help!  Cheers

Springboard Problem and Cannot Save SMS messages iPhone 5

My wife took her phone to the Apple store for a bad speaker and short battery life.  They replaced the speaker and ran diagnostics and determined that Springboard was bad.  They can reflash the phone, and she can restore content from the cloud, but will lose all her stored SMS messages.  She can do a full backup to our computer, but Apple said if she restores from that, the problem will return to Springboard. This was incredulous to me that Apple would mix data with programs and have this issue.  Another appointment at the Genius bar and I went with her.  Same story from Apple.  They even gave me an analogy that if you car has a problem caused by bad oil and you drain the oil and fix the problem, and then put the old oil back in, the problem returns.  I thought a more apt analogy is having to remove the radiator to fix your air conditioner, and putting the antifreeze back in the radiator after reaasembly.  It will NOT break the A/C again. I found some third party applications that may do what is needed for $20-$70.  The Apple store had their canned spiel on third party applications. Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a workaround?  And is it believable that the world's largest technology company still writes their software this way?

Hey gang.  Having an issue.  Maybe someone can help me.  Did a backup of my son's iphone 8GB with iTunes.  I have read I can read the msgs with SMS and this program, MesaSQLite.  I cannot find the .mddata file on my Macbook anywhere.  Says it should be in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/backup.  I don't have this directory.  Mine is ~Library/Application Support/Mobile Support.  But, nothing there. Any suggestions? Thanks, Hugh
