Can I upgrade my iphone to an older or intermediate ios software iPhone 4S
I have an older iphone 4s in hand with iOS 5 on it. I know that the current iOS is 6.1.4. Still, on my laptop is an older 6.1.2 iOS in iTunes since my last download. Is it possible for me to choose to upgrade to the older iOS, instead forcing to download the latest software? It is true that Apple always forced us to be on the latest iOS software? Thank you in advance for any intelligent inputs and thoughts.

iPhone images won t restore after phone reset
Hi, I am hoping someone can help me as my wife's iPhone completely froze up after synching with the latest version of iTunes. In the end, the only thing she could do was re-set the iPhone, thereby of course losing everything. Reconnecting to her laptop restored music and most apps, it seems she has to re-download the other apps again direct to the phone. Now the problem is images. There is an ipod cache directory on the laptop Pictures directory, and in this are folders labelled F00, F01 etc.. and a "Photo Database" file. In each of the Fnn directories is a series of files, called Txxx.ithmb, each of which is about 1,500KB. Doing a backup from the laptop indicates there are about 2900 files overall.Altogether there is about 3GB in this folder, so it looks to be a lot of space. Pointing iTunes to the directory containing all this and synching, still results in zero images being found. She went to the local Apple store for help, to be told these are not the images, but then elsewhere I have read that these are the full files, and this proprietary format contains three different resolution images. If the images taken on the iPhone are not here, where are they? Finally, how on earth do we convince iTunes to recognize these files and imporrt them again? Sorry to be thick but losing everything thanks to the latest iTunes was rather catastrophic! Any help/ideas/suggestions greatfully received... The photo files were a mix of photos taken on the iPhone and images previously uploaded from the laptop. Cheers Chipontheroad
Desperate- way to extract location history of my iphone where I have been
Please help- its my understanding that iphone stores where you have been (location history). When I was searching the Internet to see if I could access this info, I found Pete wardens iphone tracker download (I think it came out in April 2011), but then I read that apple fixed this problem of storing this info on your computer too, by releasing a software update shortly after. Is that correct? If I backup my iphone to computer will it have a file on there that stores the history of where I and my iphone have been? Or is this no longer the case? I desperately need a log with time stamps, I need to prove where I have been in the last week (marriage problems). If iphone only keeps this info on the phone now, can I access it somehow?Thanks for your help-Alisha

I have been trying to update my iPhone's software for the past few weeks due to my current provider not being found. (A bar that says "Searching" is always at the top where my 3G should be.) Yet whenever I try directly from my iPhone, it always end with an error message. So, yesterday I tried updating directly from itunes and I let it download the new update and all that. However, after it finished trying to update my iPhone, it put my iPhone in a recovery mode and I've been trying to fix it eversince. I can not access my iPhone, all it has is an icon saying to connect to itunes. I've tried troubleshooting, checking my software, updating my computer etc. yet it still leaves me with this message: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1)." I've looked on the apple site and I've made sure my security is up to date, my computer is up to date, my itunes is up to date and that I have restarted my computer. I am very irritated and I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do because my warranty is over with apple and I still have a few years on my contract. This problem has become relatively frequent with the replacement I've received from apple. Please post all suggestions or ideas to help with my problem, Thank you for your time. -Applefanatic23
Had to redownload things from iCloud but my photostream did not completely download help iPhone 4S
I had to redownload my phone through iCloud because of a malfunction in the system, so I could not back up the phone. I had almost 800 pictures on my photostream before, some duplicates, but for some reason less than 100 photos re-downloaded to my new iPhone. It stopped downloading the pictures, and has not turned up any new pictures for about nine hours. Is there any way to get back those pictures? Thanks for any help!

Hello, ok so i have this huge mess in my hands, lets start by saying this: I had an apple id which had no creditcard whatsoever on it, it was configured for USA app store right? ok so i get a debit card and it turns out i need to be from my country appstore to be able to use it, so i created a new apple id, and well the thing is i have about 30 apps or something which 15 are from one apple id and other 15 are from my other apple id, umm i cant seem to remember which were from one APPID and which were from the other, so i need help, cant i just reset the phone and download the apps again? (some are paid) please help!

There was a wrong buy , an app called mobile selling platform. For travel agents to do their flight booking thro ipad . . This happened by mistake , as normally when u download any app it would ask for the password , but some how this time it did not and the down loaded happened . I tried stopping the down load by putting off the power button , but still did not work . Hence this situation. I tried reporting a problem thro the link in the invoice , but to no success .error is reported . I need a refund and reversal . As I have of no use of the apps . I am no travel agent and tried calling the India office but was told that they had closed for the day . iPhone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used
I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me. About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped. It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again. It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back. I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff. SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty. I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... ' I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue. My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ? Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i? Hi Its becoming incresingly annoying that I'm having to charge my iPhone twice a day. Its always 100% at the start of the day and come around tea time its down to around 30%. I do use it for whatsapp but thats about it during the day and after having an iPhone 3 & 4 I've never experienced such issues. I was told the battery life was improved with the iPhone 5? My main point is that its not always been like this and with having over a year left on my contract I need to nip this in the bud before it gets any worse. Things I have tried so far (To no avail) Closing all apps that are open.Lowered my screen brightness (I can only just see it) Any suggestions as neither of the above two have worked. Cheers Gareth

Hey everyone I have been holding back from updating my iOS on my iphone 4s (I know - not a smart move) I am currently still on 5.1.1 and trying to update to 6.1.3 (finally) from the phone itself (not via iTunes) I am trying to downlaod and install the update using Wi-Fi connectivity, but it just wouldn't let me? Kept saying An Error occured while downloading... It didn't give me any error code or any other explanation. It just simply won't update I know it was silly of me to begin with for not updating for so long, but I don't understand why my phone is rejecting the update? If this is even what is happening.. Also I sent my iMac for repair recently, came back with a Lion (which was what I had on there previously anyway) but it wasn't updated? So I couldn't just open iTunes and restore all my contacts.. AND I am still currently in the process of downloading the updates - but something always happens as well, an error occured that I have to re-download the update, internet drops on and off, etc. -- The reason I wanted to update was (this is a whole separate problem) my 4s kept crashing the apps, not doing anything out of ordinary - it just crashes everytime i start or a open an app. So I would hard reset my phone (turning it off and on again) and then I would find all my contacts gone. No other entries are gone, just my contact names! All messages and calendar entries are all still there - just no contact names in my address book. ***? After sleuthing here and there, and found no real solution to this problem. I decided to update my iOS because one of the discussion thread I found told me to try that. Heck, why not. SO I tried uploading and this is where I end up.. Does ANYONE have any idea what the **** is going on? Does anyone else out tehre have the same problem? Surely this is not just me!!

The content of my iphone is: 1.40 GB's of music, 761.1 MB of photos, 779.6 MB of apps, and 3.39 GB's of other. I don't know how to get rid of the "other" part that takes up half my storage. Matt00 was nice enough to suggest a solution to no avail. I feel it's a bug in the new app that hopefully will be fixed in next fix. I wouldn't mind using a wire through iTunes but now using a Mophie juice box for a iPhone 5, their wire won't download or manage iTunes. They admitted they can't but could with a iPhone 4. Any other suggestions anyone. I can't believe I'm the only one. Subscribed podcast are Rush Limbaugh 24/7 and Kim Komando 24/7.PS: It's very difficult to remove the Mophie juice box from the iPhone 5.

I have been getting this error message for a while... it seems to be the only thing that helps is deleting all my photos and all my music and the bigger space sucking apps.... however what good is the phone if i have to delete everything i use in order to download something new.... iPhone apps not opening-have tried all usual fixes
A few days ago I got my iPhone unlocked from my provider (Telstra) as I am about to travel and wanted to put a country specific sim in it. Since then no non-Apple apps have worked.I have tried (many times) to :- 1. restore from a previous backup (plus multiple syncs) and using different backups2. delete an app and reinstall it3. download a new free app (and when that didn't work I deleted it and retried installing it)4. sign in and out of the app store on the iphone5. sign in and out of the app store on my iMac6. de-authorise and re-authorise my iMac7. wipe the iPhone clean and start with a fresh install8. And reset the device too many times. Nothing I have found on any site has worked. I thought the wipe the phone clean would have done it but it hasn't.I have wasted about 20 hours trying to get this thing working again. If I wasn't going on vacation tomorrow I would be at my provider getting them to fix their mess but I can't. Can anyone help? Please? iPhone 4S (Apps are active - just won't stay open)
