Belkin Dock damaged my iPhone 's charging port iPhone 5

I bought a Belkin Charge + Sync Dock for my iPhone 5 (the one that includes the cable) in February. It was a flimsy, crappy device from the start, but I figured I might as well use it.Four months have passed and now the lightning port on my iPhone 5 has started to deteriorate very quickly and noticibly. I would only charge my phone with the dock and I wouldn't use the lightning cable that came with my phone or any other cord for that matter. I went on a trip so I took my lightning cable with me and it would only charge at an odd angle. I also noticed the plug was very loose inside the port. This became true with the dock as well. The dock was flimsy and wobbly at the start and now would only charge at a very odd angle too. Any cord I use barely works, and my phone does not charge at night anymore. I know it is not a problem with my cords, because I tried my friend's cords and they also did not work. I know the dock ruined my port because that was the only thing I charged with for four months.Who should I go to for help? Should I call Belkin and ask for a return? Would my Apple 1-year limited warranty (I do not have AppleCare) cover a new phone?

Full correct steps should be like this : 1) Select a favourite song in iTunes program to be made into Ringtone...-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------2) "Get Info" on that song name and make any 0:30 seconds portion of that song.... (specify "Start" & "Stop" time - under "Options" – to any 30-seconds duration and click OK)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file...(when done iTunes will create a Chime)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------4) to locate the created .m4a file easily, Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Show in Finder" from the pop-up list...(iTunes will automatically point the folder location of the original .mp3 & the newly created .m4a files... keep this window open for later...)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------5) change the .m4a file to .m4r as suggested... (rename to whatever you like but you must change the extension to .m4r)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------6) At this point, the m4r(original) file isn't a "Ringtone" file yet... which we'll need to change now...) Iphone 5 has a slight ticking/rattling noise coming from the inside. I held the buttons down & shook it and the noise still existed, no it's not loose buttons. It's not real loud. whatever it is, is in the top section of the phone.

How much will it cost to repair smashed back of my iPhone 4

Okay, so today I leant over to pick up my ruler which I'd dropped and my iPhone slipped out of my pocket. Ironically, I'd put it in the inside pocket so it wouldn't slip out, and I've had it for 6 months and have been very careful with it until today. Needless to say I am absolutely gutted about this, and am hoping to replace the back of it. Looking online, some people claim that if I took it to an Apple store, they would either replace it for free or I would have to pay £29, however I'm not sure whether Apple have changed their policy about free first time repairs since the release of the iPhone 5/4S. I'm willing to pay because it was my own fault, but I wanted to know how much it would be before waltzing into an Apple store.  One other thing, would I have to tell my Mum? Because she recently told off my younger sister for smashing the screen of her iPod and used me as an example of being careful, and I know she'd be devastated by this too. (Not to mention how much she'd freak out about it!)  I don't want to replace the back myself with cheaper parts from eBay because I know it'll damage my warranty if I do (I'm not sure whether smashing the screen comes under the warranty, I don't think it will.).

Why my iPhone 4S stuck on 1 battery charge despite being charged for 30 hours

I have had my iPhone 4S for barely ten months. In the past, I have had small problems that would either fix themselves or just stop occurring, such as freezing issues.  But recently my phone was drained to a 1% and after realizing this I quickly plugged it into a car charger. About 15 minutes later, I noticed it had switched to an 100% battery charge. I blew it off and the next time I glanced at my phone it was back to 1%, so I turned it off thinking it would reset it and I would leave it to charge. I came back to the phone maybe 30 minutes later to power it up and it displayed the red sliver of battery with a lightning bolt underneath it. It stayed like this for a good while and eventually came on. Since then it has been stuck on this 1% battery charge. One last thing I noticed was that the bolt inside of the battery on the top right hand corner sometimes shows a plug, saying its fully charged. I'd rather not turn it off because I'm not sure it will come back on. what do you guys suggest I do?

No ringing while connecting to number on an iphone 5 ATT but they can hear me and I can not hear them.

I have an iphone 5 with ATT and sometimes (very randomly) when making a call, it does not make a ringing sound (like it is not connecting), but it has connected and the other person can hear me but I can't hear them at all.  When I do try and say "hello" to see if they can hear me all I hear is my own voice echoing back.  Other times the phone conncts and rings immediately and I know then that the call is working. I actually got it to do this while on the phone on my landline with applecare. I did all of the resets with Apple and they determined it was a hardware problem and I received a new phone. It seemed to be ok, but three days after activating it, the same thing happened. There does not seem to be any common factor.  It happens with landlines, cell phones, inside, outside and it does not always do it to the same number twice.  It is a complete crap shoot. I have noticed that is it much more likely to happen if I go through "contacts" or "recents" to make the call. It has also happened a few times when using Siri to call. I never know until I don't hear the ringing sound that the call is messed up.  This is awful when trying to contact a business and you have to keep calling them back.  Anyone else? 

iPhone 5 damaged in lifeproof what to

my iPhone 5 cracked inside my lifeproof case! then I continued to use it, I ran a water test & it worked fine. took it in no less than 3 feet & then came back on & is now suffering from battery damage. i don't have AppleCare! what to do? :( I've already had my phone replaced under warranty because my 3G wouldn't work. I just got this phone around march. I'm paranoid.

Replacement iPhone 5 Scratched

I received my replacement iPhone 5 a couple of weeks ago and assumed that it was a brand new device, so I decided to keep the back plastic on and put it straight into a case to protect it.A couple of weeks later I was cleaning the phone and decided to remove the plastic off the back, I then discovered a scratch that had gone undetected before due to the plastic. There is no possible way I could have done this as the plastic was on the back the whole time.I contacted Apple support and they said that the item is a refurbished replacement but insisted that it had been tested and gone through three times more checks than a new one. I explained that I had the plastic and the case on the device the whole time but he explained that even though he has his device in a case it still has scratches due to dirt that gets trapped inside.The phone is still fully functional and I know that I’m being maybe a bit over the top for one scratch but when I pay £599 for a phone I expect it to be in a perfect condition even if it is a replacement device.I am reluctant to contact support again as I feel as if I’m being over sensitive, however I would like to get some opinions on if you think I should be entitled to a replacement or not. Used iPhone 4 in rain despite working has few concerning issues.

I was making a phone call yesterday and it had started to rain. I wouldn't call it a torrential downpour but it wasn't a light one. I didn't think much to it thinking the phone should be okay as it wasn't directly subjected to the rain. Towards the end of the phone call, the earpiece did start to crackle so I hung up. I am presuming the rain did the following: 1. The camera had moisture in it. I could see droplets of moisture inside the lens but that soon disappeared. The camera however remains locked in near focus and won't focus anything in the distance.2. The battery life has gone from decent to poor. 100% to 95% used to take a couple of hours on standby. Now it takes about 20 minutes.3. The phone itself emits a small popping/sizzling sound intermittently. It's hard to describe, but it sounds like a candle wick being put out by water. I put the phone itself to my ear and the sound is definitely coming from inside the phone, rather than the speaker and earpiece. The sound rarely happens when the phone is off, but happens often when the phone is on.4. I've had a few small shocks from the phone itself. My nearest Apple store is a while away so I'd appreciate any advice before making an appointment. Unfortunately my phone is older than a year so it's probably not covered by a warranty, however I'm only five months away from a new phone from my contract so I would like to keep the cost of sorting it out down to a minimum.

Excessive dirt in iphone 5 camera

Strange noise by iPhone 5 when shaking

Hey! I've just bought an iPhone5 and started to use it today. After activting and having the first look at it, I came to realize that it gives a really strange noise when I gently shake it. It sounds as if something would not be properly fixed inside the phone. The sound comes from the top of the phone (around the camera part). Im wondering whether anyone else had the same issue with their iPhone5, bacause I have not experienced anything like this with my two previos iPhones. what can cause this sound? Should I just take it back and let them replace it?! Thanks in advance!

iPhone 5-digitizer busted

My iPhone 5 is less than a year old, it is still covered by the regular warranty, i do not have apple care. I dropped my phone from a height of about 3-4 ft, and the screen loss all sensitivity. The screen itself is intact,however on the inside of the prhone some vertical lines are now visible. I have been told something called the digitizer is busted. Will apple replace this phone for me, or fix it? I am aware that more than likely i would have to pay for this service, but i was wondering how much, if they would be willing to do anything at all. thanks

I got Iphone5 to give gift to my mom on motherday i bought it from online i have also proof of purchase i go to apple store to book an oppoitment in regent street but i find the guy who treat me very badly first he too my phone go inside the lab after 20 minutes he com back and ask me proof of purchase i showed him after he told me can you come tomrrow we will fix it it will take time i said to him keep my phone for fixation and give me one paper as a receipt after he replied me we will fix it now please wait for 20minutes i said ok after 20 minutes he came back and said we can not fix this because you dont have proof of purchase i said i show you early but he said we dont accept that we cant deal with you.It seems may i criminal the way he treat me or something else i am shocked because next to me there is a lady and she is attractive as well one of apple employe treat such a nice way i feel happy the way he treats him she brings her sister phone the Apple employe change her phone straight way but in my case they ignore me.I dont know what is wrong with me because the way he treats me just ignoring me...i book oppoitment as name of(sazzad ahmed) at regent street time was 8.50 i cant remember the name of your employe because i was shocked the way of him to treat me such a worse thing for me in my life.Every time we preffer apple product because of his warranty services.please do something for me i am lso feeling ashamed this phone was a gift .

Something rattling in my iPhone 5 else have this problem

Something inside my phone moves and it is loud. I was told it was something with the hardware and it could be a lose battery. Has anyone else had this problem. This phone was replaced a month ago for another type of problem so there should be nothing wrong with it since the new phone came from an apple store.

Fixing wet Iphone 4-flash light and on screen dead iPhone 4S

There seems to be a lot of people out there dropping their Iphone in the bath so I thought I would share my experience of fixing mine.Firstly if its in warranty consult your dealer - if this doesn't help try the following: A lot of people say stick it in bags of rice / silicon, etc but here is a quicker, more reliable way which is far less likely to contaminate one of the connectors. You do not need any special equipment. Make sure phone is off (If you can still see the screen) - hold sleep and Home for 5 seconds and tap the red off button that appearsPop your oven on a low heat ( less than 100C) for 5 minutes.Wrap your phone inside a sock, doubled over a couple of times so the phone is well protected.Turn oven offPop phone into oven for 30 minutes or longer preferably You could use a hairdryer but be very careful to keep it moving to avoid any localised heat spots that could damage components. If the phone got really soaked you might want to jump down to taking the phone apart - if it is still full of water powering up or charging could result in further damage Let the phone cool and try to power up, if nothing happens check for any signs of water vapour still in the phone and repeat if present. Otherwise try charging and powering up Still no success? this step requires a very small crosshead (some need a 5star) screwdriver, don't compromise and try and use a larger one, damaged screws will cause you even more expense. Very cheap on ebay. Unscrew the 2 small screws at the bottom next to the speaker, slide the back up and lift away. Unscrew the very small screw holding the battery connector in place and pry up the connector (lift the side nearest the edge first). Be careful not to lose the screw or the small metal bracket under the connector. Use the plastic tab sticking up half way along the battery to ease the battery out (usual there is a small amount of glue on them). This will reset the phone (you will not lose anything but the phone will hopeful power up when the battery is replaced). This is a good time to try the drying procedure again to ensure there is no more moisture present. Reconnect the battery screw everything back in place and press the wake button. If this has not succeeded you may need specialist help to test more components.Good luck ( and I cannot stress enough - keep the temperature low when drying)

Two reasons why I would not by an iPhone again

Hi all, yesterday I had two requirements from my iPhone 4 and none of them was fulfilled, so I decided that this is my last Apple device. If any of you can change my mind, go ahead a try. 1st, I wanted to copy a file (pdf) from my local drive at home and then open it in ezPDF Reader. So I used NetPortalLite to access my drive and downloaded the file inside the NetPortalLite. But when I wanted to move the file to ezPDF app it didn't let. Why it is so complicated to move files between apps? I have tried to copy in NetPortalLite, then paste in ezPDF Reader... it didn't work! 2nd, I wanted to access my local drive at home to run a video file. This function is available only in paid apps, although other mobile OS have this ability. Why it is not possible to browse local drives directly from the iOS or Safari? Is it so hard to implement this function to the iOS and make it available by SMB://IP_ADDRESS or \IP_ADDRESS? Thanks

Mailed back new iphone . what will happen next iPhone 5

I ordered a new unlocked iphone trough the Apple store, but it arrived damaged. The outside had everything ok, but as soon as I grabbed it I noticed that there was something loose inside the phone it also made noises. So I returned it back in to the box and mailed it back. It’s been a week since I returned it and I haven´t received any mails. Also there was no charge in my credit card. Will I get a new iphone or what will happen?

iphone wont turn on

my iphone 4 wont turn on. its been on charge for about five hours now. it says its charging because it comes up withthe battery with a lightening bolt, but the battery is off course red. how do i get it to work again? also latelt my phone has been randomly turning it self off and saying it has no battery when it had about 70% before it turned off. in order for it to turn on i have to put my phone on charge and works. i have noticed this when i go from a warm place (like inside) to a colder place (like outside) its starting to get annoying. How do i fix this?

i purchased iPhone 4 , 5 days ago and i notice slight gap (as shown in pics).I could easily insert piece of paper inside the gaps..this gap is at top, bottom and on right side (near SIM tray) . should i be worried? will Apple service centre replace it with a new one OR REFURBISHED ONE ? . iphone 4 dead

hi guys... i have an iphone 4 running ios 5.01 i believe..  about 3 weeks ago, suddenly it just died for no reason. i didn't drop it or anything.. i pressed and hold the home and spring board buttons, but nothing happened.  the phone would only turn on if it is being charged. even then, it is not functioning at all.. it says no service on the top left, the wifi is greyed out..  most of the apps wont work. when i selected any of the apps, they flashed briefly then go back to main menu.  and the phone dies again as soon as i unplugged the it from the charger. the battery says a 100% while being plugged.  there is an alarm icon on top of the main menu..  last night, all of a sudden, the phone just started to function again while being docked to the charger... after being unplugged for about a week or so.  and everything just works... but this morning after i have been using it for a few hours since last night, it died again...  so it looks like there is a loose connection inside the phone or there is a chipset or something thats beginning to fail inside phone..  just wondering if anyone has experience this kind of issue with their iphone 4..  its very irritating.. i never drop the phone, never got in the water.

7 different faults-it hardware failure iPhone 4S

I've had my 4S since January 2012.  All was well for about a year, and then the fun began.1) When the weather got colder (Less than five or six degrees), the phone would suddenly claim to have a flat battery, and turned itself off.  Plugging in an external battery pack brought it back to life.  Taking it back inside a warm building would bring it back to life again.  2) About twice a month, it crashes, and wipes all my contacts/calendar data.  I started backing up to iCloud, so then it would restore from there, but muddle my contacts' photos up.3) It refuses to sync with iTunes.  It says there's not enough memory.  Sometimes on the phone, sometimes on my PC.4) At least once a day, it loses the ability to join any mobile network.  Turning it off and on again usually allows it to rejoin my network (T Mobile).5) Instead of T Mobile, it randomly likes to show my operator name as 000-0000.6) It helpfully closes all my Safari tabs if I minimise Safari and use another app.7) The GPS is failing, which is a real nuisance because I use Nike+ for my daily jog. T Mobile's tech help were not very much help as soon as they realised I'd had the phone for over a year, and was therefore no longer covered by their warranty.  They reckoned it was a hardware failure.  I've purchased Apple Care today, and booked a Genius Bar appointment for Friday.  Does anyone have experience of any of these problems?

I dropped my phone and screen blue iPhone 4

I dropped my iPhone 4 today, which had a case on it but the screen is messed up. It isn't cracked anywhere but shows blue streaks. It also isnt dead because I am getting texts and can turn it off and on. Hi, we purchased a new iPhone 5 16 GB in balck through our business account with Vodafone.We’ve had this phone just under 2 month and it has had a battery issue that seemed to only get worse by time. We tried the usual fixes by applying the latest iOS and doing a complete restore to factory settings with no results.The battery would not hold charge for long and the user had to keep constantly charging it through the day.  We’ve had similar issues in the past with iPhone 4 and the 4S to which the fix was always to take the iPhone back to the Apple store and get it replaced under warranty.When I went to the Apple store after inspecting the phone they told me that they can not service nor replace the phone as it had “Random Code Stickers” on the inside of the phone which are not consistent with any repair work done in any Apple repair store and that a “water sensor “ attached to the inside of the screen was missing as well as “Burn marks” to the back on the screen.Has anyone had a similar problem with their phone?

iPhone 5 says fully charged even though its only at 34

My original iPhone 5 charger broke. An internal wire had split, so I purchased a new charger. It was working fine (from flat battery to 34%) and then it stopped and showed the fully charged icon (the little plug image inside the battery in the top right). I did a hard reset and tried a different plug socket, but to no avail. Unfortunately, I don't have another charger to try it on. So I was hoping you guys can help me out with some suggestions. brand new iphone 4 problem with speaker grill

Hallo guys I just bought a brand new iPhone 4 8GB and sadly i noticed just after I opened the box tha the right grill of the speaker is not completely flat like the left but itit bend inwards like it was poked with a needle  Is it possible to have done some damage in inside or there is enough space between the speaker?Also I am covered from the warranty right? (The phone was sealed before I opened it)

I'm having problems with my Iphone 5 charging.

It's not the cables to charge it, it's the actual port. It may have gotten a little wet, i don't see how. Their may be some corrosion on the inside port and I don't have insurance.

Cannot remove nanoS card tray from iPhone 5.

I just bought an iPhone5 but needed to change the SIM card for a new one. I insert the little pin into the hole, the tray pops out, but I can only pull it further for 2/3 millimeters... I believe the SIM is loose in its space inside the phone and doesn't let me to remove the tray. Is there anything I can do to solve this? I have no phone at the moment, for the SIM inside it is inactive and I need to replace it with the SIM I just got today.
