how I recover pictures from PC When Iphone won't recognize them

My iPhone 4 stopped charging and won't charge anymore ideas

I was charging it and listening to pandora when my phone started to feel really hot! I couldn't really touch it. The USB port that plugs into the outlet was hot, along with the actual USB plug in. And then the plug that goes into the phone was very hot too, and the bottom of the phone where the charger goes in was hot. So, in long story short, everything was hot. That was the first time I experienced that, and it scared me so I quickly unplugged the cord and it started to cool down. Not it is completely cooled, the phone, and the cord, and when I try to plug it in again to charge it doesn't charge. I thought maybe it was just the cord. So I got a different one, and it still didn't work. I even tried plugging it into the computer, and still no luck.  Some additional information, I was using an extension cord, and was laying in bed. I also have been experiencing issues where the phone would be plugged in, and say that 'it is not supported' or something like that, and would stop charging.  And also earlier today I upgraded my phone system to the 6.1.3  Please help!!!!! Will I have to send it in? I hope my phone isn't completely dead! :(

iPhone 5 ringtone

I was lucky enough to get an iPhone 5 this AM and I'm trying to set up a song as a ringtone.  I've followed the old instructions - created AAC version, changed file extension to M4R, etc.  Despite this, the song doesn't appear on the list of ringtones.  Is there some new trick I need to know?  I'd like to have an option besides the standard ringtones preloaded on the phone.  One thing I noticed - I renamed the file by adding .m4r but Windows still identifies it as an M4A file.  Do I need a file conversion program to do this instead of simply renaming the file? Thanks, Chris

downloading app in different country iPhone 5

Hi, I am an event producer who's moving into new markets. I use apps within the context of launch events and now that I am moving into a new market I was positively surprised by the response I got and today I have been challenged to organize an event on 22-Oct  Now the issue is, my app is registered in one country only and I obviously cannot download it from my target country.  Is there a way I can  request an extension of the countries where my app can be downloaded? Is that something that can be done in a couple days? Is there another way other than the "normal" going around Apple's Ts & Cs and "creating new accounts"? I do not support that AND my customers cannot be bothered to jump that many hoops... HELP!!

When I call someplace with a touchtone menu (like the pharmacy for a prescription refill or an extension) it does not recognize my choices.  I have an Iphone 4 - it's pretty new to me still so I am hoping I just don't know the right "trick" to make it work.

looking for an old Samsung alert tone called Starry Night. Can t find it online way to get it upload it to my iPhone

I have an iPhone 4, used to have a Samsung Eternity a few years ago.  I really like the sound of the old text message alert I had, called Starry Night.I have searched online for that tone/sound, but can't find it.  Any way to find it?  Any way to upload the sound onto my iPhone?  Appreciate any help in getting my old Samsung Starry Night tone back.  OK, I did find this info, but sounds complicated: "And to really have fun...you can make your own alert tones, simply: 1. Get the sound you want (like off YouTube, or use a song)2. Cut it to where you want and try to make it around 2-4 seconds using an audio or video editor3. Export or convert the file to an .AAC (iTunes can actually convert .wav or .mp3 to .aac if you do not have an audio converter)4. Fine the converted file that iTunes or your video/audio converter made and change the extension from .m4a" to ".m4r" or from ".aac" to ".m4r"5. Drag the file into your ringtones section of iTunes and it will be there." Thanks!

How I get an email file attachment extension off of my phone iPhone 3G

All I want to do is get an email file attachment off of my phone and on to my computer so I can use it.  I don't want to open it on my phone, it could be an AutoCAD file, a programming langauge file, etc.  I want the option to save the attachment to local memory on my phone and then transfer it to my PC via USB.   This worked all the time with my Blackberry, but it seems impossible or extremely difficult with the Apple IOS. The available phone memory would look like a USB stick drive to my PC.  I am at job sites all the time where I do not have internet access from my PC, but I am within the cell network area of coverage so this would be an option. I spent almost an hour with Apple Tech support today and they must have thought that I was on drugs asking for such a simple thing.  Apparently, the available phone memory is protected by the IOS so that the PC can't see it or use it.  They said this feature would be all App based.  The key then is finding an App that would allow the email client on the phone to give the user the option to open or save the file to a location that my PC can see. Does anyone know of such an App?   If I can't find a workable solution I may have to go to an Android device.  Thanks.

How I display an extension to phone number iPhone

Many of the numbers that I call since switching jobs have extensions.  Can they be added to the phone number listing as shown when making a call?  Currently, I have been adding the 'notes' field to the contact lists when someone or a particular department needs to be accessed.  I find it confusing sometimes and would like it displayed even though it may not dial it.  Can it be displayed?

Retrieving extra tracks on Tap Tap Revenge 4 iPhone 3G

I bought a Wiz Khalifa extension track from Tap Tap Revenge 4, and I was billed for it but I never actually got the song. what should I do? Why is the phone not giving me the content I purchased? I am running version software iOS 5.0.1 on my iPhone 4S. I would rather not update to the newest software (5.1.1).

Why can t IPhone dial an extension from an email

If I receive an email or appointment with a phone number in the format of 123-456-7890 x123, it will allow me to click it to dial but then just dials all the numbers.  It should pause at the extension and wait to dial it until i click to do so.  My older Blackberry had no issue performing this task.  Seems like a major programming oversite on Apple's end.

About AppleCare for iphone 4s

Hi! I have bought an iphone 4s last November. Unfortunately I have not purchased an applecare for the phone as I thought that you can just purchase an applecare warranty extension within the year before the 1 year basic apple warranty for the phone expires. I see that there is a new type of applecare name applecare + for the iphone 4s and it has a new policy that it must be purchased together with the phone on its date of purchase or within 30 days from date of purchase. 30 days has already pass since I bought my  iphone 4s and I'm afraid that I am not qualified for applecare anymore. Is there a way to enroll or purchase the applecare program for my iphone 4s even if after the 30 days have elapsed from the date of purchase for the iphone? Is the prevous version of applecare for iphone  been discontinued by apple?  Because I only see the new applecare+ that can only be purchased in the U.S. while the old version of applecare for the iphone is still offered in the other countries where apple has an online store. And lastly I dont have anymore the original store sales receipt for my iphone 4s but it is properly registered on apple and has a valid purchase date record on apple's database. Is there I way to have applecare even if I dont have anymore the sales purchase receipt for the iphone? My iphone 4s still has 10 months remaining on its basic 1 year apple warranty left.  Hope anyone can help. Thanks!

headphone extension cable with full mic remote signal at last iPhone 4

A year ago, I asked about a way to extend the iPhone's headphone jack without losing the mic or remote controls. The only response to my old thread was this product, which works, but has too big of a plug "jacket" to fit the headphone opening in most cases. (It is also expensive for what it is.) After much searching, I may have finally found something - that is, other than those cheap ones on Amazon.com that get terrible reviews. It comes from Radtech, and it's called the ProCable 3.5mm Audio Extender. There is a standard "3-Pin Model," and also a "4-Pin Model" listed as "iPhone Mic Compatible." The item # is 16021 for a black one and costs $8; they also sell them in white. Additional info from Radtech also states: 3.5mm male to 3.5mm femaleExtends tight-fitting audio jacksExtends any 3.5mm audio sourceIdeal for using some large 3.5mm plugs with protective cases I've ordered one and will report back if, indeed, it works as expected. Here's the direct product link. I haven't seen these for sale anywhere else but the Radtech site. http://www.radtech.us/Products/procable-shortz-audio-extender.aspx

iPhone 4Si Update iOS 6.0 not working iPhone 4S

I bought an iPhone 4S off of eBay, and it had the "i" update pre-installed, making it run on iOS 6.0.2, the newest version of iOS. Siri, along with iNteract (the main "i" feature), and iSync Pro are not functioning properly. It does have the distinct "icall beta" feature that does work, but all other iOS 6.0.2 features are not working. How do I activate Siri, iNteract, and iSync?

Telephone Number Issue iPhone 4S

The screen of my new iphone 4S goes black after I dial a phone number and the number connects.  Because of this I cannot input an extension number.  The Auto-Lock Setting is "never".  Is there a solution to this problem?  I've never had a problem with an Apple product before.

Cannot complete call if phone number includes an extension Blackberry can iPhone

Most business associates include an email signature that contains their phone number with extension (i.e. 1-800-800-8000 ext 800). On the iPhone, the clickable link is completely unusable because it converts the letters to numerical equivalents and tries to dial everything in one shot. So, if I click the link in the signature the iPhone will attempt to call 18008008000398800 (where the 398 is numerical equivalent of ext). As expected, the call cannot be completed as dialed.I was a former Blackberry user before moving to the iPhone. As much I wouldnt go back, the way the iPhone treats these phone numbers with extensions is easily my biggest gripe. The iPhone should either;a) Dial the number only until the call is connected (at which point it would enter the extension). This is how a Blackberry does it.b) Only make the phone number linkable (that way, I can dial from the link and only have to remember the extension portion which would be entered manually)Thanks!P.S. I called my network provider but they indicated it was not a problme they could resolve. iPhone 3GS iOS 4

iOS cant handle forwarded emails iPhone

Ive just run headlong into a major email problem after setting up an associates email client to automatically forward selected email addresses to her during a three week trip carrying only an iPad and iPhone for email access. The only available option for the automatic forwarding is to forward the email as an attachmentThe problem is that the iPads GMail client simply presents the attached emails as cannot open attachments. This is not only the GMail client, but the problem is there for other as well, so, the email client appears to be common except for the setups. These attachments do have a filename extension... it is .eml (which is a long existing and standard extension for email attachments)imho, this needs immediate attention. The only (apparent) current options are to manually forward the emails inline or to use a webmail interface... if it happens to be GMail, there are additional problems. Upgrade to os4-way to get lost information-CONTACTS and TEXTS iPhone 3G

I have been spending hours, and hours, trying to figure out what happened to this phone. I upgraded to os4, and when I did, I lost everything (contacts, texts, pics, apps, etc.), eventhough I backed up everything on a weekly basis. Not sure where Apple dropped the ball on this major issue. I have been looking for hours to find a fix. I came across a post that was helpful in finding a way to solve some of my problems, including FINDING MY LOST CONTACTS! I have to manually enter them into my phone again, but at least I have them! Like, me I am sure many of you dont memorize phone numbers anymore. I have just added to a post I found by Somebody2 on another forum (http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11831613), as a starter, and added to it, to give more specific directions. I am extremely thankful; to have found this! I am still looking to find a way to get back my lost pictures, but that may be a lost cause. Hopefully this can help some of you out there, like it did me(....sigh of relief). Anyway, here is a way to find those lost contacts and texts:Here are the main steps, assuming that you did backup your iPhone using iTunes recently:1. Use the following tutorial to install FireFox with SQLite Manager add-in and point it to your backup folder:http://www.skyontech.com/blog/iPhone-app-data-access (**when following these directions, make a copy of the backup folder, and paste it on your desktop to make the overall process a little easier)**2. Once you have opened SQLite, Click on the options (hammer/screwdriver icon) at the top. Change the Default file extension for SQLite files to mddata then click OK. Next, Click on the word Directory at the top, just under the menu bar. Then select choose Select default directory. Choose the most recent folder inside the backup folder you copied to the desktop, then click OK. **3. Now the more time consuming part (took me at least 30 minutes). Beside the word Directory you can now choose files from a drop down menu. The easiest way I found to do this is to click on the 1st one, then click go. You can continue down the list using the arrow key, and click go each time you go to a new file... As you do this, you will see the left side change. Sometime it has nothing (No directory found), and other times there is a list of menus (master table, tables, views, indexes, triggers). I found mine in the 38...range out of the hundreds of files.**4. Continue to go through the files until you see ABGroup under the tables menu as an options (it does not show up under the master table menu, just under tables).5. Once you have found ABGroup, Click on the Execute SQL tab in the SQLite Manager and copy/paste the following:====================SELECT First, Last, Organization, Note, value as Phone FROM ABPerson, ABMultiValue WHERE ABMultiValue.property=3 AND ROWID=record_id ORDER BY First====================Then click Run SQL button. You should now see the list of all contacts backed up from your iPhone. You can also highlight all rows with the mouse and the SHIFT key, then right-click and select Copy Rows as CSV for Excel, then paste them to Excel so that you can print your contacts spreadsheet.NOTE: You can do the same thing for finding text messages. The only difference, is that you want to look for the word message under the tables menu instead of abgroup.I have never posted here, but this was a HUGE help to me, so I thought I would try to share a more detailed way to get these back. I know its not easy, but IT WORKS!! I am so relieved, and thanks a lot Somebody2!!!! If anyone knows how to recover lost pictures, even if it is a process like this, please, please, please post it. Headphone extension Cable-Controls Not Working Issue iPhone 3G

Afternoon,I have a set of apple headphones for my iPhone that work perfectly fine when connected directly to the phone, however if put a bog standard 3.5mm jack extension cable on the end of them I loose the ability to control the iPhone through the control button located on the mic. I am assuming this is something that 3rd band on the jack does as that 3rd band isnt on the extension cable jack? The reason I bring this up is that a lot of the extension cables that are on the net and advertise themselves as iPhone 3G and 3Gs compatible show a picture that has a 2 banded jack, so they cant be compatible can they?Is the cable I am using faulty (works perfectly for audio) or is it a limitation of the cable itself?Message was edited by: DTWD - Changed Title iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.1.3

questionable business practices iPhone 3G

Broke my screen via a drop and walked in to an Apple store to talk to a genius (I guess that makes me an idiot). Anyway, told they would not repair the phone. I would either qualify for an upgrade through ATT after a two-year extension and $199, or I would not and I would have to pay $399 for a new phone. When I told the genius that I could fix it myself for $59, they said it would void my warranty. Im not that smart, but if they will not fix my phone then what good is the warranty? Is every proud owner of an iPhone facing the same fate? Does this even seem legal? dell Windows 7

Ringtone in iPhone Ringtone folder not on phone

I posted this again from another forum where it didnt seem to get any attention.I had 4 ringtones on my iPhone 3G. I made a few more ringtones tonight: used audio editing software on a song, selected a 15 sec clip, bounced each as AAC, put each on my Mac desktop, changed each extension to .m4r, and dragged each to both the iTunes Ringtone folder, AND the iPhone Ringtone folder. As I dragged them to the iPhone folder, the SYNC IN PROGRESS prompt came up on the phone, so I knew it was doing something. The first one went fine. Then, the second one ELIMINATED the first on the phone, even though the iPhone folder in iTunes shows both ringtones. I changed names, used a different song, and tried a number of suggestions on the web, but I cannot get any other of my homemade ringtones to take on the iPhone, even though they are in the iTunes>iPhone>Ringtone folder. I now have 8 ringtones in each folder (iTunes and iTunes>iPhone), but only 5 ringtones on the actual iPhone. If the iPhone only holds 5 custom ringtones, why doesnt it eliminate the oldest one, and keep adding new ones? Plus, I read one poster who has 27 ringtones. They are all .m4r, all less than :16 sec, all playable in iTunes, all in Ringtone folders, but I cannot get the iPhone to recognize them. Creating iPhone Ringtones in iTunes-Not possible anymore 3G

And then they would show up under Ringtones.but for some reason this does not seem to work anymore, any ideas? has this changed with the firmware / itunes upgrades?

iPhone not recognized by iTunes 9 3G

Okay, Ive read posts and solutions here for 2 days and tried them all, so that is why I am writing here.I upgraded my iTunes to 9.0. My iPhone is at 3.0. I plugged in my phone to upgrade it to 3.1 but iTunes does not recognize it. iPhoto does, and I have backed up all photos. I have mobileMe so I should have all my contacts synced. So, it does seem then like an iTunes issue. Ive read the article on removing iTunes, etc. and mobile app extension and done that. And reinstalled iTunes 9. Wall Charger for iPhone extension cable 3G

I have a wall charger and standard iPhone cable but its too short. I was thinking of adding an extension cable but would it be safe to use in conjunction?By too short as in the surge protector is on the ground and the desk is 4 feet high and the cable is less than 4 feet high and when I put it on the ground it takes the iPhone with it. I want 3GS-but not with noose around my neck iPhone

I like the new features in the 3GS, BUT I wont be getting one because of AT&Ts punitive pricing tiers for their existing customers. what broke the camels back for me is the requirement to extend the contract for another 2 years. Is AT&T Wireless so afraid of its churn rate that it believes that it cant survive without an indentured customer base? This is coming at a time when carriers are starting to revert back to 1-year contracts.I would have been happy to spend $700 (now) for a 32GB 3GS - BUT Im not going to pay full price AND extend my contract for 24 months. If I bought the 3GS, I would have then dumped my 16GB 3G on eBay or Craigslist - and that would potentially have given AT&T a new customer. That is AT&Ts loss.I believe that AT&T dropped the ball on this one. IMO, the 3GS purchase options should have been something along the lines of:1) pay full price with no contract extension. Why? Because your current contract is already paying off the subsidy on your current phone.2) for new customers - purchase a subsidized phone and a new 24 month contract.3) for existing customers whose current phone is subsidized - allow customer to pay off the subsidy on the current phone, pay full price with no contract extension or purchase a subsidized phone and extend their contract for another 24 months.4) for existing customers greater than 24 months (aka: month-to-month customers) - pay full price with no contract extension or purchase a subsidized phone and extend their contract for another 24 months.Check out this link: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13924_3-10263278-64.htmlI am eligible for the upgrade in December 2009. My 24 months is up at the end of July 2010. Ill upgrade the battery in my 16GB 3G this autumn to a higher capacity battery - this will extend the life of my iPhone. Then I will wait for the summer of 2010. I want to see if Apple comes out with a new dual-core iPhone in 2010, on a different carrier - or at the very least for the price to become lower. For now, there are not enough features-to-cost for me to justify paying full price for a 3GS and extending my contract for another 2 years. 32-bit/4GB and 64-bit/8GB installs of Windows Vista + iPhone 3G 16GB (black)

extra long iphoneipod usb cable

I was at my local Apple store today and connected to one of their laptops was a extremely long USB iphone/ipod cable. It must have been easily 10 feet. I was told they do not sell them and are for apple use only. Am I the only one that thinks that Apple needs to get with the program and make these cables available for purchase. I have to keep my iphone on the floor next to my bed because the usb cable is not long enough to reach the dresser. I can use an extension but Id prefer a clean single cable look. If you agree that Apple needs to make these 10 ft cables available for purchase, leave feedback. HP Tablet and Mac unibody laptop Mac OS X (10.5.7) iphone 3g, ipod 160GB classic, 1TB time machine
