iphone 5 and backing up corrupt

I'm trying to back up my iPhone to my computer, and I'm getting the message"iTunes could not back up the iPhone [my_name] because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone"  I sorta know how it happened.  I lost a hard disk, but kept a current backup of my entire iTunes library on another drive (because I've lost drives before) and when I replaced it, itunes worked again, except for this...  Anyhow, I've googled this problem, and found a solution; in Device Preferences > Devices, delete any backups that appear, and then try again.  But... The box is empty.  There are no backups listed.  I used to have one, I know I did.When I try to back up again, thinking it would create a Device Backup, I get the error. I'm not interested in recovering anything from the backup, as I have original on the phone, as well as the current library. I just need to delete something in the iTunes folder in order to clear this problem, but I don't know what.  (I'm an advanced user, I can handle it.)  Help! thanks

iPhone 4S continuously shows low load balance notification

It all started when I took some pictures today, then after couple of photos, the Camera app crashes. Tried to open up the camera app again and attempted to take some photos but it crashes immediately again. Couple of seconds later I get this notification. Lots of it. Next thing I did is to hard restart my iPhone but although the notification appears again even though I don't take pictures now. It seems for me that this issue isn't influenced by the camera at all but more on iOS issue. From then on I keep getting this notification to the point whenever I wake my iPhone, I keep pressing the DISMISS button. This is really annoying and frustrating as it attempts to consume my load. For additional info:iPhone 4S 32GBiOS 6.1.3Not jailbrokeniPhone is not set for any 3G/data subscription, whatsoever. The device functioned normally and after an update, it did not take over my chip and says the device is locked (is asking to put a valid chip). After several attempts, I got in touch with the Apple of my country (Brazil), and to my surprise, the search for the serial device, they reported that the device is locked by Sprint and manufactures do not accept support or exchange (The unit has 1 month bought with full price in amazon), telling me to settle with Amazon. I insisted informing them that the unit was purchased unlocked and they also reported that this device is aimed at the European market, it works with CDMA and GSM and Apple Brazil suporPelas just the research I have done and talking to some people, I passed the information that Sprint can easily inform this code (or Imei) not sure which unlocks the device again, but have no information on how to get or do that. I contacted Amazon stating what happened and I'm waiting for a position within it, is to send the code or return the handset. I just got the iPhone 5 last month. I did an OS upgrade not too long ago. My phone seems to be draining very quickly. Twice I thought it was because some how, a number was called and I thought the line may have stayed open a good long time. Now I don't know. I mostly text, do no web surfing, ocassionally check my email. The past week I keep getting battery low message. Any thoughts/suggestions?

iphone 4 randomly freezes-what hardware to swap

Good Afternoon, ive recently started up my own business fixing mobile phones - mostly cracked screens and chassis replacements. Just recently i thought id got a bargain on ebay regarding an iphone 4. It was described as working correctly, can make / receive calls and send texts etc but randomly locks up. Ive got the phone today, unfortunately its locked to the 3 network so ive got a micro sim on the way so I cant actually proceed further at this point.  Although it did crash once on me when i tried to select language's etc - had to hold the home and power button down until it turned off. Ive read on the forums that this is a common fault, and can occur to any iphone - faulty or otherwise.  And the main concensus seems to be to take it back to the store for a swap. My main question is - seeing how im likely to come across this fault again - is the fault software or hardware related? If its hardware related what circuit board is likely to be the culprit?  If we could identify the problem then im sure I could just order the required part on ebay. The fact that apple havent recalled the iphone and that they will accept these faulty iphone's back and swap for new suggests to me its an easy fix - its just easier for the technicians to go in the store room and get a brand new one. Secondly ive just got another iphone 4 white - bought cheap as its totally dead.  Tried a new battery and still nothing.  Got a new dock / charging connector on the way - is it likely to be this at fault?  Doesnt seem to be any sign of water damage, and it wasnt described as this on the ebay page. When id swapped the new battery over i tried to charge the phone ( to see if id fixed it ) and it got extremely hot - so i disconnected right away and left it to cool off. Whats likely to be the issue with that one? Thanks, and hope someone can help Adam

Iphone 5 / factory unlocked / USA purchase..  Whenever i compose a new message (SMS), i already have a text (one of the previous sms that i hv sent to someone) there in the message box. I have tried resending the same to myself and other numbers and it gets delivered aswell. But what is annoying is everytime i have to compose a new message and click on icon on top right corner in message app to create a new sms// i have the text alrdy in my typing box and have to select all and delete it.  And when i click on any previous conversations with my contacts and reply them this problem does not exist. This is only when i click new message compose icon or have to start a new conversation with someone. To me it seems as if some kinda signature is added in SMS but i couldnt find any option for the same. Please advice !!

My built in apps have disappeared how can person reinstall Safari Siri or App Store on an iphone 4S

I have lost my built in apps and do not know how to reinstall them on my phone.  The Safari and App Store icons are gone.  I can no longer surf the net on my phone and the little "microphone" key has also disappeared when I send text messages etc.  I now have to actually type the message instead of speaking into my phone.  Siri has also vanished.  Any advice?

Has anyone noticed that since the last couple of updates (6.1.3 and 6.1.4) the search feature on the iPhone doesn't work. You can search ok but when you press what you're looking for is puts you at the end of the message without going to the area you need. Apple please fix it. Sooo annoying.

I contacted Orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone  because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. How to get to spotlight text message search results iPhone 3G

This is my issue. I have been using the messages app and spotlight to search keywords and/or phrases in old text messages.  Scenario: Using the search bar in the messages app, I lookup Mac. It returns 2 results. I click the message I want to view and it opens the most recent message in thread. So I tried using Spotlight. Granted, it returns more results (about 6,7), but when I click the message to finish reading it, again, it opens the most recent message in the thread. Is there an app that actually searches messages and lets you view the message?

My IPhone wont turn on after updating

My Iphone 4G was updating to the latest i.OS software on itunes (on my windows computer). As usual, my phone had to restart. It turned off, but as it was turning on (when the screen just shows that silver apple logo) an error message came up on itunes saying that it couldnt update the software (I forgot to get the error number). But my phone is stuck with that silver apple logo on it. My computer tells me to restore my phone, which I tried, but everytime I do that, itunes says "extracting software" and then it says "preparing to restore" then it comes up with an error message (number 2009). I have tried restarting my computer. My phone is stuck like this. what should I do? Please help!

iPhone 5 audio fail

does anyone have audio fail problem on their iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.4)? This happeded twice on my iPhone. First time was when I was using my phone as usual and it just suddently truned into mute by itself. The other one was when the alarm was ringing but no sound just vibration. I'm sure that I did not turn into silent mode. Except the sound, it still functions well. System just poped up a message asking me to reboot my device. It recovered after restart, but I still want to know how to deal with this problem.

Lost Mode Alarm continues-I found my iPhone 5

Hi.  Last Saturday morning I lost my phone and immediately went onto iCloud and entered the phone into Lost Mode, sent the message and Played Sound.  Spent all that day reporting the loss to the police, insurance and Vodafone and generally panicking.  Went to bed that night, put hand under pillow and guess what, found my darling phone!!!  what a relief!!  Cancelled Lost Mode on iCloud and restored passwords, Vodafone etc.  HOWEVER, at various times (and obviously I never get any warning), the lost alarm still sounds and in public, people must think I have stolen my own phone!!!  I have tried different ways to stop the alarm happening again eg setting Lost Mode over again and then cancelling it again but the alarm still goes off.  All I have to do is press the on/off button to stop it sounding but the fact that it goes off in the first place is the problem.  It should be cancelled!   Why does the alarm still go off?  Can anyone help please? Many thanks Susan

I have been trying to update my iPhone's software for the past few weeks due to my current provider not being found. (A bar that says "Searching" is always at the top where my 3G should be.) Yet whenever I try directly from my iPhone, it always end with an error message. So, yesterday I tried updating directly from itunes and I let it download the new update and all that. However, after it finished trying to update my iPhone, it put my iPhone in a recovery mode and I've been trying to fix it eversince. I can not access my iPhone, all it has is an icon saying to connect to itunes. I've tried troubleshooting, checking my software, updating my computer etc. yet it still leaves me with this message: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1)." I've looked on the apple site and I've made sure my security is up to date, my computer is up to date, my itunes is up to date and that I have restarted my computer. I am very irritated and I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do because my warranty is over with apple and I still have a few years on my contract. I tried downloading an update via wi-fi and it has locked up my phone.  It says to plug in to itunes and I did but I get a message that it cant connect to the itune server,  what now??

When my iphone 5 is locked the volume buttons are not working. I have to unlock my phone in order to change the volume using the volume buttons. Is this normal for the iphone 5 or is there something wrong because I know that the volume buttons can be used when locked when I had the iphone 4

iPhone 3GS unable to activate after updated to iOS 6.1.3

my iphone 3gs had lower version of iOS and i wasnt able to download watsapp. during downloading its says update iOS 4.3 and i did connect my phone with iTunes. and i did fully update with 6.1.3 version.now I not able to activate my iPhone3GS after updated to ios6.1.3. The message said the activation server is unavailable but it has been unavailable for more than 24hours. It's abnormal, please help. Hello!  I have an Iphone 4s. Some time ago, I deleted some persons out of my contact listand and also the messages in my inbox. But when I slide to the right (search screen) , I can still find their names and the first sentence of the message.  Can I delete this?  Thank you so much for helping !
