iPhone sound not working on games 3G

I have the iPhone 3G. The sound for the games worked when I first got the new phone but now it doesnt.. I have done everything I know to get the sound to work (turn up volume, sound settings, etc).. Still nothing..The iPod feature plays sound through the external speakers so I can still listen to my music files. The telephone part works.. Even Pandora will play sound.. Yet Bejeweled, iSlots, and a few other games will not play the sound that I know works on others iPhones..Any suggestions? Dell LapTop Windows Vista

New Headphones iPhone 3G

I was curious if anyone knows if it will be possible for these headphones http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB770G/A?fnode=MTY1NDA3NA&mco=MTgwMjc4MQ will work with iPhone 3G in any of the next firmware updates. Theyre pretty much identical to the ones that came with the phone with the only addition being the volume control. It would be pretty nice to use those to control the volume to I wouldnt have to take the phone out of my pocket. Now I know that sounds like laziness but with what I do in school with darkroom photography, printmaking, ceramics and stuff like that, my hands can get pretty messy. What I really want to know is if the volume control will work with iPhone 3G through firmware updates in the future or if its completely hardware based for the volume control to work. Having trouble with volume iPhone

I have the original Iphone...I have had no problems, until last week. While making a call I cannot raise the volume and I can hardly hear the person on the other line. Otherwise I cant get the volume to increase to how it has performed for the last year. Help! Original Iphone

Cannot hear phone calls iPhone

Hi, I have an iPhone 3G thats been fine til today. When I use the phone, I cant hear anything. The caller, however, can hear me. The speaker in the phone is fine; I can play songs and hear them fine over the phones speaker. The problem seems to be only when I use the actual phone. When I press speakerphone during a call nothing happens then either. Its as though the act of using the device as a phone kills the speaker. As soon as I hang up the call, I can hear the speaker again.Ive been through the troubleshooting tips... Turned off bluetooth, use earphone jack to make sure no dirt is built up in the headphone jack...(Its a clean iPhone!) Ive done the two-fingered reset -- all to no avail. All the audio works except the telephone and even though the call completes - and the person on the other end can hear me - I cant hear a thing. Theres no sound at all... no hiss, nothing, when the phone is in use.Apart from the phone/audio anomaly, everything else is working fine. Have I done something stupid? (Yes, Ive tried cutting the volume up and no, it doesnt say headphone when I do) I rarely use a bluetooth headset (bluetooths now off anyway) and havent had my phone connected to anything other than my MBP to charge the battery. The area I live in doesnt support 3G, so thats turned off to save battery power. And if no one might know of a cure, where the heck do I get my phone fixed? I bought it at an AT&T store... will they take care of it if necessary? Online, it appears that Apple will let me see if its under warranty by keying in my phones serial number (and it is!) but then stops there... Wouldnt it be great if they had a link from that warranty status page to either an 800 number or some kind of email tech support... or anything useful? I would imagine the need for support is the #1 reason people look to see if they have time left on their warranty. Its almost as if Apple thinks the iPhone is infallible and will never need service because they sure dont like to tell you how they go about fixing one if need be.Sorry - rant over. Im just glad I kept my land line. Any help or advice on where I might get service - assuming its not something silly Ive done that I can fix - would be greatly appreciated. Oh - Im on version 2.2 of iPhone software, I think. Thanks very much for any help! MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.2)

After using my iPhone 3G for 3 months, I noticed this morning one of the infamous cracks between the mute/volume button. Have never dropped the phone and baby it like an obsession. Read that many got it exchanged for the same reason. Living in Canada where iPhones are only sold through the carrier, I wasnt sure the Apple Store would exchange it... iPhone3g infinxx motorola I need help

Okay. I have the 16 gb iphone 3g. I recently bought a ski helmet with a motorola a2dp bluetooth device which allows the helmet to answer calls, voice dial (not on the iphone!), control mp3 player volume and pause etc. On my first day using it, I connected the iphone by the built in bluetooth for the phone features and also connected a cord for mp3. The mp3 controls didnt work!!!Then I bought the infinxx ap23 bluetooth transmitter adaptor. I was able to get 100% phone and mp3 functionality through my helmet controls (this is critical as I dont want to ski to the base and remove all of my gear to do something) However, I went skiing a few days later and only got the mp3 player going bluetooth. I could hear my phone ringing in the helmet but I couldnt answer it. During a lunch break I played with my helmet and bluetooth adaptor trying to get them to work like they did before. I still cant figure out how I got it to work! I know it has the ability to do so!Thanks in advance for any help! Macbook Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Headphone volume extremely low How to fix iPhone 3G

I was using my 3G iPhone (with the latest updates) at the gym the other day and I could barely hear the music. I was using them with the standard iPhone headphones. I had the volume up all of the way but it was so low I couldnt hear it.I tried it with sound check on and with it off. Not much of a difference. I checked to see if the volume Limit was on and its not.The thing is that I know when I used it at the gym months ago I didnt have a problem and didnt even have to turn it up all the way to hear it well. The phone volume and the speaker volume are exactly the same as they have always been, its just the volume out of the headphones. I have even tried other headphones (iPhone and 3rd Party) but its the same levels. Is there anything that can be causing this? Is it possible that an application that I installed could be causing this? Has anyone else experienced this? Is it from the latest iPhone update? Its really driving me crazy, and Im at the point where Im going to try to find a pair of headphones with active volume boost or something like that so I can use the iPhone with headphones.Does anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?Help!iPhone 3G, Headphones, volume low, low volume MacPro 2.66 / G4 867 Quicksilver / PM7100AV / IIsi Mac OS X (10.5.4) iPhone 3G

iphone thinks earphones are plugged in unable to make phone calls etc

Ive been having the same problem with my iphone on and off for a couple of months now.For some reason it thinks the headphones are plugged in, this means that I cannot listen to music using the speakers, I cant make any phone calls because if I make an outgoing call, I cant hear it ring nor the person speaking, because it thinks I have the headphones plugged in with the mic.The phone doesnt ring out loud when I have an incoming call, so I miss a lot of calls..If I try to change the volume, it has headphones in brackets, or something similar, which is how I know it thinks I have them plugged in.At first, I thought this was a problem with my headphones, because they were faulty, but Ive had them replaced, and at the same time, the lady I spoke to from apple told me this problem can be overcome by re-installing itunes, updating the iphone software version and resetting the iphone (home button and off button until the apple logo appears) Well, I did this and its still happening..Can someone please tell me what Im supposed to do, because my warranty runs out in less than a month and Ive already tried everything suggested, and its still happening. Thanks, Lou iphone Windows XP

Ringer switch-ATT clerks nothing iPhone 3G

I just bought a 3g, had it a day or so and it quit ringing regardless of the software sound settings. When I realized it wasnt ringing, I happened to be near an AT&T store, so I ran in and asked one of the clerks what was wrong. She went through the settings and tried calling my phone. No ring. Then she did a soft reset by holding the power and home keys. No ring. Finally, after consulting with another clerk about it, she tells me Youre gonna have to call Apple, and starts explaining Apples top-notch tech support program to me (which Ive been familiar with since my first Mac years ago)... So when I got home, before I called, I searched the support site and of course, quickly found my solution. I had accidentally flipped the silencer hardware switch next to the volume control.I cant believe the AT&T employees didnt know about a hardware switch on the phones theyre selling. Ill bet the Apple support guys answering the phones wish AT&T folks were just a tad more savvy in answering simple, basic questions like mine. G5 Tower Dual PPC 2.7ghz Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Incredibly loud volume from headphone jack-happened only once. else iPhone 3G

Hi Everyone,One day I went to start playing music on my iPhone as I always do (through the headphones) but for some reason the phone glitched and played music incredibly loud (much louder than highest volume setting). To give you an idea of how loud it was, my colleagues at the other end of the room (10m away) were startled by the squealing coming from the headphones. I immediately stopped the song (my ears hurt!), rebooted my phone and all went back to normal.I now start playing the music through the headphones, check it is at normal volume then put them in my ears as - Ive also had a ringing in my right ear for the past week. Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar?ThanksMike Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.5) iPhone 3g

iPhone 2.2 and bluetooth headsets problem

I have the 16GB 3G iPhone just updated 2.2 and now I have a problem with 2 bluetooth headsets (Apple Bluetooth and Motorola H700 SYN1311B).The problem is the other person on the line will have a problem hearing my voice. My voice is very low in volume and every other word is dropping in and out. It is not the range issue because while using the headset, I hold the phone in my hand.I can hear everyone just fine (much louder than before) it is just the others cannot hear me. The problem is exactly the same on both headsets (Apple is a little better in the volume but Motorola is the worst). Ringer defective on new phone guarantee options iPhone 3G

Hi folks,First Ill fend off the usual solutions. The phone isnt set to silent. The phone doesnt think headphones are attached (adjusting the volume displays ringer). The loudspeaker/ringer has never made a sound on this newly bought phone. Incoming calls cause vibration but no ring. Music does not play through the loudspeaker. Key clicks dont happen. All of these sounds do work through headphones, though.Ill be happy for any suggestions for a fix. The only thing I havent been able to try yet is an update or restore, since my network connection is too flaky right now. However, I also need to understand my guarantee situation and the timing is awkward. I bought the device new in Italy. This is, I must stress, a normal, legal, non-simlocked phone as is available on the Italian market. Im now in Austria, but only for a few more days, when I travel home to Ireland. The retailer indicates that her only option is a return for repair or exchange from Apple, and I cant wait for that. Im assuming that the usual EU-wide guarantee will apply in this case, but Id like to verify this with Apple Ireland. However, I can only find a phone number for iPhone support, and its not one I can call from Austria. Can anybody shed light on the problem or the best way to pursue a resolution?Thanks... iPhone 3G Other OS

iPhone 3g-very srange button problems

HiHoping someone can help me with this problem....I was using my iPhone this morning to send a few texts, and during the 2nd one, it kept locking itself. And then the volume box came up, and stayed up and kept moving up and down (but motley down) then locking itself and then going to the slide to shutdown page. I was not hitting any of the buttons. So I turn it of and on a few times and its still doing this. When I press the screen in the top 1/4 then it activates the volume / off switch. Also, if I put normal pressure of holding a phone onto the top or sides, that also activates the buttons.Im trying to backup and restore, but it basically wont get to the end of a sync either! Im pretty sure its a hardware problem though, as I dont see how else it could be thinking the buttons are being pressed when there is very slight pressure near them. So, anyone had this strange problem?Know how to fix it?Cheers, Kath x macbookpro Mac OS X (10.4.4)

iPhone 3G 2.2 Speaker phone function broken

One of the things that impressed me about the iPhone was the great speaker-phone capability. Nice, loud and clear. Makes hands-free conversations very easy. Now its broken! After updating to 2.2, when I press the Speaker button while making a call, the audio vanishes. Yes, I have turned the volume all the way up. I have rebooted the phone. I have plugged in earbuds and removed them. Everything works as expected except the speaker-phone function...the speaker sometimes emits a little static pops when I turn on the speaker-phone function, but thats it. Switching the speaker-phone function off returns the call to normal--I can hear the audio from the ear piece again. Also, the iPod function plays fine out the speaker. iPhone 3G 8GB Other OS firmware 2.2

I think Ive found best iPhone 3G case What you think

Just wanted to post some feedback on my experience with the ivyskin Glass Touch-Thru Ultrathin iPhone 3G Case.Yes I signed up just to write this review after being a perverse voyeur on these forums for awhile now, but I am no way affiliated with ivyskin. I recommend this case hands down, it has all that I was looking for in one. Its hard shell case with real glass touch screen built into the case. All ports are covered with a soft silicon so is the home button. The best part is that theyll be introducing a QuattroPac battery extension that fits into this case later next month. Putting it on is simple but you need to be careful about the volume switch, you need to insert the iPhone into the case from that side as instructed on the manual because I didnt want to break anything or scratch my phone, anyway it is quite simple. You should check this case out before you look at anything else, or after you look at all the cases to compare. mac Mac OS X (10.5.5)
