I am trying to decide whether to get apple care for new iphone or verizon insurance for my daughter.  I am most worried about breakage, but she is traveling this summer so a little concerned about theft? Also for breakage which plan is better?

Complete battery failure iphone 4S

On Friday of last week my iphone 4S began to rapidly lose it's charge.  By this I mean from 100% to 65% by 9:30 am, and completely dead by 2:30 in the afternoon.  I turned off my location services and "killed" all the apps running and it did not change my rapid depletion.  This morning I noticed my phone was warm to the touch and when I checked it my battery was down to 10% by 8:30 am and this was after having been at a 100% charge at 07:00 am.  I turned my phone off completely at 8:30 and when I went to turn it back on I got no response, not even the picture of the battery that indicates it needs to be charged.  So when I finished my work shift at 3:30 I put my phone on the charger and it has still yet to turn back on.  Has any body heard or had an issue with this?

My camera frozen iphone 4

Have tried restore on iTunes and restore to new on phone.   The issue is not changing even with that.  Happened about a month ago and haven't been able to get it to work since. As soon as I click on camera, whatever the camera is facing is what it is frozen on.   Sometimes the shutter won't even open and the video does not work either.  None of the apps that you can take a picture with work either like Instagram, pict stich etc. Not sure what else to do. seberia8

Camera app doesn t work iphone 3G

I got my first iphone as a gift the other day (32GB iphone 5 from verizon). However, the camera app on it does not work. When I launch it, either the closed shutter is displayed, or the screen is completely black and none of the "buttons" (i. e. Options and switching between front and rear cameras) work. I have tried completely closing out of the app and doing a restore of my iphone through iTunes, but it still does not work. I have a case, but the lens is completely visible. Any help would be appreciated!

WiFi iphone 4

Ok so here's the deal.  At work I barely get one bar on our wireless network, but at home I of course have full signal.  At work I turn off the wifi because at that weak of a signal, it takes forever to send email or a picture on my phone. So I switch to the cellular network, and bam it goes fast.   But then when I get home I want it on the WiFi and keep forgetting to turn it on.  So my question is (without Jailbreaking) hasn't someone come up with an app that will set timers for wifi to turn on and off?  That seems like one that should have been out in the first year of Apps? 

Camera problem with iphone 5

I purchased my iphone 5 in January 2013 in India. For past couple of months, my phone camera dies frequently. The first time it happenned, I update the phone with iOS 6.1.3 and it started working. Next time when Camera was not working then I reset the phone and it started working, Now, I have the same problem, when I open the camera, shutter does not open and I am not able to click any picture. Does anyone has a similar problem with their iphone 5? Ios 6.1.3 Red Eye Correction iphone 5

Today I was taking pictures of my family, and I was using the flash on my phone because the light in the room was very dull. After taking the pictures and looking at them, I noticed the red eye thing that happens when you use flash. I decided to get rid of them with the red eye correction tool in the stock camera app, and after about 15 taps of pressing the red spots on one of the eyes on my cousin, the tool kept making dark spots in the wrong spot each time, and then the photos app just crashes. Um How can I fix this issue? because its persistent with every picture I Do it too.

I'm restoring my iphone 4S on iTunes 11.0 and it's stuck on restoring firmware

My phone won't send picture messages to any phone other than an iphone and when I googled it, the solution was to restore it.So I did. Downloading the software itself took nearly 3 hours, but whatever. My phone restarted, but now the bar is stuck at ~3/4 done and it's on "restoring firmware". It's been this way for over 20min. I use iTunes 11.0 and Windows 7.Can anyone help me out? Would it be bad to reboot my computer at this stage?

iphone 5 not ringing or alerting of texts calls going to voice mail

My iphone 5 recently started having problems with the ringer.  The ringer will be turned all the way up, the mute button is NOT being used and the phone will not ring for calls or alert for texts.  It is not always happening, but more so than not.  I have tried rebooting the phone, the OIS is up to date and I do not have the "Do Not Disturb" set.  I can be in the same spot with LTE and full signal have a call/text that is missed then receive a call/text and it rings.  Does not seem to matter if the call is coming from a land line, same verizon carrier cell or different carrier cell there is no noticable reason.  Any ideas???

Fixed my phone but display still doesn't work iphone 4S

4S got run over by a car. I changed the broken display, functionality (sound, vibration, cameras, wireless, mobile data, emails and other notifications come in, I can here SIRI, etc.) is working (tested via cylay).  Battery always low and phone turns off pretty fast after unplugging from the charger. Plugged in it turns off itself after about five minutes and restarts immediately again + display doesn't work (sometimes gets bright but there appears no clear picture only some grey tones). It worked about three times though that the display was clear and I could use the phone for about five minutes before it lost its picture again.  What could be broken?

This is my second iphone 5 on verizon, I had the first one swapped but this one is t any better:/I tried restoring it AS NEW but no luck, my friends on att&t is fast, has great recpetion fast on wifi and letMine inside buildings is horrible and wifi is unusable!I know my wifi is fast bcuz my 4s is fast on it.The phone is also laggy. My phone will not restore properly iphone 4S

I just bought a second hand (perfect condition) iphone 4S today, the user sold it because they had upgraded to an iphone 5. The previous user did not restore the phone they just deleted all of their previous data (contacts, pictures, applacations, they left their 1,100 songs though), so I planned on restoring it later tonight to start fresh. I had it activated to my phone number at the verizon store on my way to a family party and used it throughout today but put barely anything onto it knowing I would be restoring it tonight. I got home and plugged it into my laptop and went to iTunes found "Emily's iphone" and then hit the restore button like normal, it worked perfectly fine and went the whole 14 minutes it said it had to. Then my phone went to the "connect to iTunes" screen when it was already connected. I checked to make sure everything was plugged in correctly, and it all was perfectly fine. I tried the manual reboot (holding the home and lock buttons for a few seconds) and all it does is shut off and bring me to the same "connect to iTunes screen".. someone please tell me how I can restore my phone! Thank you,    Emily

iphone 5 on verizon upgraded to 6.1.4 (over the air, not via iTunes) has resulted in the phone giving priority to 3G in areas where LTE is available. I am able to get LTE when I disable and enable the radoio (Airplane Mode). Unless I force this, my phone is either on WiFi or 3G.  LTE is enabled (Settings -> General -> Cellular -> Enable LTE: On).  Is anyone else experiencing this?

iphone 5 lockscreen green glow

Hey. My iphone 5 is currently on firmware 6.0.2 and there is an apparent green glow in the lower parts of the lockscreen when I unlock the phone and it gets more prominent if the phone has been unlocked after a longer time. The glow is a lot like the screenshot of other users facing the same problem. Now, I saw that everyone was getting it fixed by asking for a replacement. My problem is, the phone was bought in the UK and I am currently in Bangladesh where there are no official Apple stores. How should I ask for a replacement and what should be the procedure for it?  Really would appreciate some help in this matter

Power button stopped working on my 2 phones one else iphone 4S

The power button on my daughters iphone 4S started to work only intermittently, I thought it was her phone, I have the same phone and not my power button doesn't work at all.  The phone itself seems to work fine, just the button. Has anyone else had this happen? It's obviously defective if it happens to both phones. I've taken very good care of my phone, always in a protective case, screen protectors, etc. I have the warranty coverage that verizon offers, but I don't think I should have to pay a high deductible for a new phone if the phone has a defect. Help please!

Hacked Removing spyware from iphone 4s iphone 5

Spyware is very easily accessible and requires nothing from the Apple store, and although I realize some of these posts are several years old-at this point, it is simply misinformation.  All one needs is a similar program to the one in the link above and not only can your sms messages be accessed, your calls be intercepted and recorded, but the camera in your phone can be remotely accessed and activated at any given time without your knowledge.  As you tap away on your handy little iphone you love so much, in whatever possibly "compromising" or embarrassing position you may be in at the time, a creeper can be looking you straight in your face or observing your enviornement at their leisure.  Imagine the horror in finding out that you were sitting there on the toilet gaming and someone was watching you the whole time or better yet, while you were involved in an intimate interaction while your phone sat charging on a dock on the nightstand next to the bed?  How about knowing that every incoming and outgoing communication is recorded and documented for the creep to scroll and read through like a book?    This is some scary stuff, and it's been used on me via an encrypted picture message.  I've done a full restore of my iphone and the pc used for backing up via iTunes to ensure that the spyware wasn't then rooted into the pc or the iTunes, and was even told to create an etirely new Apple ID, but aside from this and there being no true scanning software for malware, spyware or viruses for the iphone-how can I be sure that this encrypted software has truly been eradicated?  Is there an antiviral program that I am unware of?  I'm not looking for a secure AVG browser, I'm looking for a detect and destroy scanner program. <Link Edited by Host>

I just got a brand new iphone 5 yesterday and was in the process of performing a "sync" to copy some music. iTunes alerted me that a new software update was available for my phone so I started this process. The process crashed and despite removing the old software, it has not installed the new and will not pick up the phone at all when I plug it in. The phone just has a picture of the lead and an arrow pointing to the iTunes symbol. Help!

Turn off everything except GPS iphone 5

I have a CDMA iphone (verizon), and I frequently hike using an app that tracks my route with GPS. However, the battery drains completely in 3-4 hours partly because the phone is looking for a cellular network. I tried turning on Airplane Mode, but that also disables the GPS. Of course, I have turned off cellular data and bluetooth, but the phone keeps looking for a cellular (voice) network. I have checked forums and people with GSM phones simply remove the SIM card, but I can't do that since I have a verizon phone. Is there any way to turn off the battery-draining search for a cellular network when I am in remote areas?

Hello! I´m soo frustrated right now - it seems i can not get my new iphone 5 to work... I broke the screen my iphone 5 aproximatley 4 mounths ago, and bought a new screen on ebay. I bought this for over 300 dollars, and got a friend to fix it. (and paid him as well) He broke one of the thin wires when he was changing the screen, making the front camera and speaker useless. Except that, the phone worked just fine. Then he bought a new wire, installed that, and i got it back. But now, it wont work! When i start it just a picture of an USB cable towards an itunes brand appear... and i have litterally tried everything. No matter what I do, I can not fix it, or restore it - the error code 1611 or 1603 appears om my mac screen when I connect it to itunes, and I get no further than that. And Ive uptaded all the programs, tried holding in home and of/on-button, go into the "hosts" on my mac (if you dont understand what i ment by that, just ask) Can somebody please help me?  Im cryin here, Ive used so much money on this and it does not work. Whats wrong with it? Ive tried every possible solution that appears on google, NOTHING works. I didn't bought the phone from Apple, but maybe I can send it in to them and I can get a new one? I dont expect that, but Ive would be in heaven

Can't hear just one person through my iphone 4

Okay, so lets see if this works. So I've had my iphone 4 for about a year and a half, I've never really had issues beside the normal glitching and having calls drop here and there. Recently I've had an issue with my iphone connecting with just one individual. Yes, I know it sounds weird but keep reading. I have been able to make calls and recieve phone calls fine, however I cannot with just one single individual. They to also only have the same problem with me, however the only difference is they can hear me but I cant hear them or anything. We're able to text and send picture messages without any issues. Now sometimes when I try to call them, itll ring twice and then the line just goes dead, but thats usually them picking it up. I cannnot hear them at all. I've already done the reset on my phone and I've already contacted apple about this issue and their about as lost as I am because it doesnt make sense that this is only happening with one individual. I've also blew out the speakers and such like people have suggested. I use my head phones that came with my speaker, and ive connected and reconnected them incase my iphone thought they were plugged in.  Let me give you a little bit more info. They have an android phone, we have the same carrier which is verizon and they live in another state (not sure if thats helpful). I'm completely lost because this has been going on for about 4 days now and its driving me crazy. This happened a few weeks ago, however it magically fixed its self ( im thinking it was because I had bad service). If anyone has any solutions that might help, please, please let me know.

iphone 5 won't charge correctly. Only charges when I put pressure to one side on the connector. I know you're thinking "It's the cable or the wall adapter. It's not. I have 5 genuine apple lightning cables, happens with all of them whether plugged in to an ac outlet, USB on a pc, or in my car. This is my 3rd iphone 5 since my original purchase in October.  The other 2 phones failed with this exact problem. The last time, I took the non charging phone in to a verizon store (no apple stores near me) and asked them if they had seen it before, they told me that my phone was the only one they ever seen with that issue. So they offered to call apple and ask if this is a known issue with iphone 5's, they also responded that they haven't seen this issue. Is this true? Am I the only one with this issue, for 3 phones in a row?? Seems unlikely. Anyway, I ask if anyone else has had this happen because if this is in fact something that happens often, I'm going to get a different phone. I love my iphone 5, but not enough to go through this every month or two.

I have had an iphone 4 for a little over two years now and feel like recently, my battery is dying so fast.  When I go out for the day it always dies before I get home, what I think it is, could be that I take a lot of pictures and use many picture apps, but I don' think that it has always been this bad. NO matter what I do, when I go out to shoot at the park, it dies within a few hours. I hardly use it for other things besides that and it still dies. Yesterday when I left the house at 12, and came home at 5, it was dead.  I did all of the things I read about that I need to do, like closing the apps, etc.  I don't get it, is it me, or the battery being old or what? Should I buy a portable charger or do I need a new phone? I have a question about charging the battery as well. A coworker of mine told me that you need to let your battery die out every time, and then charge it, but I never do that. iphone 5 not holding proper LTE signal Sprint

So I've been reading a little bit about some issues with people's iphone 5's not properly connecting to LTE on verizon, but I was wondering if the same issues were with Sprint users as well. I called Sprint the other day (local store and Sprint National Hotline (*2)). Both of these sources said that they hadn't shown any problems with the LTE on any of the towers in my area, and this is in a very strong LTE coverage area. Is it hardware within the phone or an issue with the network? I've tried the cellular network update multiple times.... Thanks!

I have an iphone 4 and recently purchased very good golf coaching app. However being vision impaired I have trouble viewing videos in app. I got an HDMI plug n play adaptor and cable but all I get on my TV when I plug them in voice

When I plug my phone into the adaptor and connect to the TV via the HDMI cable I can hear the voice from the videos but I get no picture. Perhaps there is a special HDMI adaptor for the iphone 4. My daughter has a 4s and the adaptor works perfectly with her phone. Any suggestions?

iphone 4 Sound Isn t working

Hey guys, I have a iphone 4,I noticed when I switch the silent button off it doesn't show the picture(symbol) on the screen. No sound when typing, Recieving calls or messages, App sounds (background music etc) . Although i can play music just fine, When i go into my setting > (sound) i can select the ringtones and messages and they play back... Just wont play back when i recieve phone calls or messages.  (I've tried resetting everything, turning the iphone off.... Nothing made a difference)    I'd be gratefull if someone could resolve this Problem

I take pictures often with Instagram and SnapChat but yesterday I wanted to take a picture and the back camera is all blurry all the sudden. I googled this and it seems others have had the same issue but I could'nt discover a solution. It's able to focus on close ups but cant focus any farther than that. How I get iMessage to start working again iphone 4

For about a week, iMessage has not been working on my iphone 4. It is turned on, I have wifi, and service. It is not just my phone, either. Friends with iPhones have had the same problem. I thought at first, that there was something down with verizon, but users with AT&T have had the same issues. Has anyone had the same issue or know if something is going on?
