I restored my iphone today, and now when im trying to connect it to itunes it says there has been an error i have the newest itunes and everything but it hasnt connected and its been over 2 hours please help me Gateway none

iphone Tethering disabling USB 3G

I have an iphone 3G with tethering enabled, but heres the thing. I want to be able to leave tethering on so I can tether wirelessly with my laptop via Bluetooth, but if I leave tethering on, when I connect it to my iMac to sync with iTunes, it automatically starts tethering the iMac! I dont want that! I just want it to tether over Bluetooth, not USB! Wont go past apple Screen iphone 3G

My phone wont go past the apple screen. It will not show up on iTunes, and it wont restart any way I try. Ive tried different cords, different power sources, etc. Ive tried leaving it alone, Ive tried to restart it 50 times in a row, Ive tried everything. At this point Im thinking about sending it to this iphone repair place, because I need a freaking phone and dont want to drop 200 bucks. help!

Restored lost vital information iphone 3G

Went thru a restore on my iphone, now my fliq notes, and personal notes, photos are no longer on my phone. Overheating while still cool iphone 3G

I have the iphone 3G which I purchased in January of 2010. My phone has occasionally overheated and been cool to the touch. I called AT&T and spoke to apple support and it fixed it self to where I could use it. They gave me a trouble ticket number and said to call back if iit happened again. Well last night it started overheating every hour for at least 30 mins. Now this morning it wont stay off for 10 mins without overheating again. The whole problem is that the phone is not hot. Its completely cool to the touch. Im not sure if I should try to wipe it and see if that fixes it or call apple to replace it. And Im not sure about the replacement options either. Will I get refurbished, will I be without a phone? Those kinds of things. Does anyone have any advice? iphone 3G iphone OS 3.1.3

dual account issue iphone 3G

I set up a second iTunes account when I created my mobile me account at the time of purchase of my iphone. I did have an iTunes account before that however... Before I caught my mistake, I had downloaded and installed apps using both accounts. I tried to merge the two in some sort of 3am digital debacle and think I just scuttled the original account and confused myself with a password change. I dont know the PW and the email associated with the original account, and it seems to not be on record.I am not able to update the apps from the account I first set up and used to DL & install apps.From the phones app updater it prompts me to enter pw for each account, but wont access the store for my old account due to the password not being correct, but will install updates for the new account I set up. From the iTunes interface while trying to update apps I get an error 414 message and none of my apps update. iphone activated Pop-Up Will not sync 3G

Heres the story: I was using TweetDeck and it froze so I reset the phone. After it booted up again the iphone is activated pop-up came on. I hit dismiss. A few seconds later it came on again. About every 5-10 it re-pops up. I talked with ATT and apple and reset the network settings, and when that didnt work was told to sync the phone and do a restore. When I got home to plug the phone in to restore it iTunes popped up with An iphone has been detected but could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iphone and try again. I recently reset all my settings.for some reason after doing so my iphone fails to open.The apple logo appears for a few seconds and then the loading circle appears.it then seems to freeze in this position.I have a suspicion it might have something to do with battery.The phone when plugged into power supply does not show the charge battery.could it be that its trying to start up but has no power? HELP iphone Freezing Missing Calls Missing Texts 3G

Hello All!I am having by far the strangest issues with my iphone 3G. It started yesterday when someone was calling, usually you swipe left to right to unlock and pick up the call. Well the slide was non-responsive, as if it didnt recognize my finger. Then after the call rang through the contacts picture and name stayed frozen on the screen. After a minute of trying everything I eventually had to hold the power key and the home button on the front to reset the phone. That happened 4 or 5 times during the day, other times it answered fine. Also Id go to my recent calls to call someone back, and select their name, it would highlight in blue showing it was selected but would freeze, not dialing the contact or allowing me to scroll up or select any other contact. The only way to break loose was to hit the home key and get back to the main screen. It also happened with my text messages, after Id type the whole message when I hit send the button would go blue but not actually send the text and it would lock up, again only being able to get out of it by hitting the home button. Same issue with my contact book freezing when I selected a contact. On top of that, I talked to people later who said they sent me a text but I had no record of their text, or people who said they called yet I had no record of their call.All of these issues were intermittent, the phone would be screwed for 10-15min Id set it down, come back to it in a couple hours and it was fine. Itd work for a couple hours then just flake out again. I work in computer repair myself so obviously I tried to think what was the last change I made to the phone that would cause this. The last thing I did was download an app from the apple store, but that was two weeks ago. Just the same I deleted it, however the problem still persists. I am very confused, and I cant find anyone else with the same problem, has anyone else heard of this or have any idea whats going on? 3G iphone OS 3.1.2

Please HELP Transfering applications from one computer to another iphone 3G

So, heres the problem, I have an older computer, Dell running Windows XP that I originally synced my iphone to. I just purchased a new computer, Dell running Windows 7 that I attempted to sync my iphone to and it has failed miserably. i care little for the music as I have backups of it, the items I do not have backups for are my applications. When I attempted to transfer purchases it only transferred 30 (out of 116) of my apps. Ive already attempted the following:1. Transferred iTunes library from my old computer to the new one2. Authorize my computer to transfer purchases. Even though I did this 66 of my purchases will still NOT transfer, I honestly dont know why.3. Backing up the phone on my old lap and transferring that backup to the new computer and trying to restore it from the new computerI am seriously game for trying anything. My old laptop is on its last leg, so I really need to be able to sync my phone to the new one so that it works! Every time Ive tried to sync on my new computer it just erases ALL my applications and leaves the 30 that it recognizes. This is beyond frustrating! I understand that the iphone can only be tied to one computer, but if thats the case they should have provided the ability to unsync it from one to resync to another! I really dont want to repurchase apps because iTunes cant sync properly. And before anyone suggests I dont have to pay apps again, apparently the apps are not tied to your account, they are tied to the iTunes, because Ive already tried that as well. iphone only works on Auto-lock "never" or on charger

My iphone 3G 8GB will only work if on Auto-Lock "Never" or on a charger. The Battery stays charged, but if it locks it goes to the Black screen with white apple and no button combination will bring it back until I put back on charger. Any thoughts? I have restored and downloaded all latest versions of software.

Tonight I was using my iphone to listen to some audio files. When I finished I unplugged the headphones and left the phone for a while. Ten or fifteen minutes later I went to use the phone and could not get anything on the display. I assumed the phone had turned itself off so plugged into Macbook to charge. Surprisingly the phone connected to iTunes, did a backup and synch and showed the battery was mostly charged, but still a black display.Has my phone died? If I try calling it I can hear it ringing on the line but the phone itself remains silent with a black screen. Why can't the iphone GS, latest OS, trasfer data to the 920T? As retired engineer, this looks like a no brainer. Is this a apple Issue? Or a TomTom problem? I bought both items, with this in mind. iphone wont sync 3G

Went to sync by phone last night, downloaded the new version of Itunes, plugged in my iphone, it took awhile to recognise my phone, first started to charge it, then started to sync, then went off, then started to charge it, then tried to sync etc... this just kept on going like this until I got an error message. ITunes did recognise the phone when it tried to sync it initially, then it just stopped. In the end I gave up trying to sync the phone. Hi,My iphone 3G can only connect to the 3G network. If I turn off 3G, then I cannot connect to any network (GSM, GPRS, EDGE). Hello! I have an iphone 3gs. Yesterday, I mistakenly left it at a guard post at a federal building after it had gone through the x-ray machine. I was unable to return to the building to retrieve my phone before the workday was over. So it sat at the guard post until this morning, when I picked it up.The weird thing is this: The screen now only displays, from bottom to top, an apple USB plug and an arrow pointing upward toward an iTunes icon. The top of the phone says no service, along with a padlock icon and the battery meter. The lower right hand corner includes an i with a circle around it, and when I tap that, I get a window displaying an IMEI and an ICCID number.What the heck does this mean? iphone 3gs iphone OS 3.1.3

Mail doesnt function well on 3G network iphone

I have an iphone 3G and have been experiencing problems with sending emails. I get an error message that the account name or password is incorrect. I can receive emails but they will not send. I initially thought that it was an account problem. I have tried restoring the iphone. I have also deleted the account and replaced it. What I realized today is that when I am on the 3G network, the error message appears. As soon as I return home to my wifi network, the email will send normally. Any ideas as to why this will occur. Im on 3.1.3 and I have been having problems which have been getting progressivly worse now I have no signal at all however it still finds my current location with tomtom and the maps app this seems bizarre to me unfortunately my iphone is just outside the warranty, although it was a replacement phone from apple and the problems started not long after I recieved it but I was overseas so couldnt get it sorted until I returned to the UK after the warranty had expired. I cant help but think that this problem was a pre-existing condition of the refurbished replacement phone Id been really happy with apple customer service up until now but this has soured it for me as theyre not really interested now. I was going to buy my gf a 3gs but have Bern put off now!Anyone got any suggestions as to what cause of the problem might be or how I might get it fixed? iphone wont sync with iTunes properly 3G

I recently bought an iphone 3G, and have been trying to connect it to iTunes. It connected the first time and transfered all apps that Id bought on my phone onto iTunes.However, when I tried to sync the iphone to transfer the apps and my music back onto the iphone, the iphone wouldnt sync properly; iTunes connects to it, and I can press sync, but it finishes syncing almost immediately, and nothing is actually transfered from the computer to the phone.Ive tried the first 4 steps on the apple support website to rectify this problem, and none of them work. i recently purchased a new 3g and had been using it before i synced it with my itunes. how i permanently disable location services for specific apps iphone 3G

I realize the answer to my question is you cant and thats why I would like to suggest apple make disable location services permanent within apps. I love my phones GPS but I dont want Twitter and 12 other apps I dont need GPS help with asking me to turn on location services for their apps every 15 seconds. Location services should be a required option in every apps settings so you can hide it from yelp but leave it on for google maps etc. HP Windows XP

Islide iphone

I have an idea for the iphone. Im sure you have heard of it already, but i believe everyone involved with apple and the iphone should give some serious thought to enhancing the iphone once again. I think it would beneficial to apple to create what I call the Islide. The layout is essentially the same as the Phone but I would give the camera a flash, and a slide out keyboard. Possible a slide-out touchpad keyboard. Please give me feedback on your thoughts via email or (if your a user)just reply back via post. Thank you for your time.

iphone goes into to Auto lock and then black screen

Once my iphone 3G 8GB goes into Auto lock mode after 2 minutes the black screen with the white apple comes on and will not respond. Not even a reset. Only putting back on a charger will bring it back to life. The battery is fully charged. I have downloaded latest versions from iTunes, also did a restore. Nothing is working.

Hello,I have just been to the O2 shop, who have sent my iphone for repair. It should take between 7 and 10 days (they say). I have synced my iphone with iTunes before going to the shop and I understand that when the phone comes back (or it could be a new one), everything will be wiped out. My question therefore is do I need to do a normal sync with iTunes when I get my iphone back or a restore? WiFi wont connect to network iphone 3G

Hey GuysIm having real trouble with WiFi. My iphone wont connect to ANY network, regardless of the networks security. It sees the networks just fine, and for the protected ones it asks for login details, but Unable to join network xxxx is all I ever get.Ive restored the phone twice, update firmware, reset network settings, hard reset/restore mode, messed around on my home network adding MAC addresses etc.. No go. The networks I have tried to access have all been very easily accessible by my friends iphone.The iphone is second hand so I dont know if its ever been able to connect to WiFi, but it certainly hasnt been able to while Ive had it.Actually, these is one exception. The only network Ive been able to connect to is through my MacBook. I think its whats called an ad hoc network, and its set up simply by selecting Create Network under the Airport icon, and hitting OK. Any advice would be most appreciated. iphone keeps turning on and off 3G

My phone is seriously messing up right now. For the last couple of hours it has been on the start up screen with the apple on it. It will be on that for about 2 minutes then there will be a little circle (I think its supposed to spin) on the apple for about another 2 minutes. Then it will turn off and back on and do the same thing. Ive taken my sim card out, tried to do a hard reset many times and its the same thing every time. I dont know what Im supposed to do. Import iphone 3G locked even on official carrier

Hi, Ive bought an unlocked iphone 3G from Thailand a year back for use in Singapore with M1 (Singtel the only iphone retailer). Since then, my telco M1 has become a supported carrier as well. Recently, there has been an update which I went for, and now my phone is locked. Both apple Singapore and my telco has said that there is nothing they can do. The error message says insert sim card by supported carrier. I have already done so. I have tried other avenues but nothing has worked so far. iphone 3G no longer shows charging or recognized by PC

iphone 3G 3.1.2 no longer shows to be charging when connected to my PC or to a wall outlet. The computer does not recognize it at all, tried putting it into DFU and still, no recognition. What Ive discovered is, that it does actually charge when plugged in, just doesnt show to be. Like, I get no lightning bolt when plugged in. I let the phone stay on until it died, ofcourse once I powered it on, I got the black screen with the red battery, so when I plugged it in to the PC, I got the lightning bolt and the phone turned on. Still doesnt show to be charging once inside the Iphones OS. I thought it might have been a faulty dock connector, so i bought another and replaced it, nothing changed. I have 2 other iphones and they work perfectly fine with the same cable and same computer. I thought maybe a restore would do something, but I cant even get the PC to recognize it, so thats out of the question. Does anybody know what it might be? Why doesnt apple kill stolen phones iphone

Hi all,If I understand this correctly, and my grasp on this/reality is tenuous , the first time my daughters stolen iphone logs into any system, with her SIM chip or not, the apple computers will know what IP address is sending - am I right? And, if so, why cant apple be forced to provide this info - especially if there is a police report. Dont tell me privacy - Im the one who bought and paid for the thing, its mine!! What about my rights - or is this a case of finders keepers, losers weepers? OR, is this Apples way of generating never-ending iphone sales? This is so frustrating. The same thing with AT&T - they will gladly authorize any phone - doesnt matter if its stolen - give them the money for a new SIM and youre out the door with someone elses iphone. Hi, I just upgraded few days ago from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 and now my iphone will not get out of the recovery loop.. I tried the 2 restores using Win7 and the other 2 on a MAC and it will not go out of restore.Is there a way i can go back to 3.1.2 because it was working fine. I restored my iphone 3G a few weeks ago to try and sort a technical problem, the backup was succesful as i restored it to that backup afterwards.
