Non Ear Bud Headset with Controls iphone 4

I cant stand ear-buds, but I love the inline controls that come with the iphone ear buds. I see lots of on-ear and over-ear headsets with volume control, but nothing with the advance/reverse buttons. Does apple (or anyone) make non ear bud headsets with the full inline controls? And if not, why dont they? Lots of people dont want to ruin their hearing completely, or find ear buds very uncomfortable, or have hearing aids, etc. PC Windows Vista

Assassins Creed Discovery-game fail iphone 4

I purchased Assassins Creed Discovery on 6-24-10 and have never been able to play it. I have both the latest version of iTunes and iphone OS 4. Every time I get to the end of the tutorial it crashes. Ive closed out the app in backgrounding and restarted, no change. Ive restarted my phone, no change. Ive deleted it from the phone and redownloaded, no change. Ive deleted it from iTunes, no change.I contacted Ubisoft and was told they are aware of this and that was it. I tried their solutions, no change. At this point I want a refund and tried going though the report a problem link from my purchase history and apple says they dont support issues with the apps and to contact the developer.I want my $6 back and all Im getting is a runaround. iphone 4 iOS 4

Muffeled audio using Bluetooth headset iphone 4

On my iphone 4 everyone is complaining that they can barely hear me when Im using my Bluetooth headset. I have a few headsets that I have tried, which never had any complaints in the past with my previous iphone, but are all having this problem with the iphone 4. Even using the apple earphones I get complaints. Anyone else have this problem? No problems with iOS 4 on 3G or 3GS, only iphone 4. iphone 4 iOS 4

After update to OS 4.0.1 GPS not working-only trinangulation iphone 3G

I did update of my 3G to OS4.0.1 or 0.2, after that my GPS functione gone. This is second device what Ive got from my dealer. First was with the same problem and they changed to new one. New 3G with factory settings and 3.1. worked perfectly. GPS was very precise, but now after getting 4.0 works only trinangulation. I dont want to go again to the service center. Maybe somebody has the same problem. By the way Im very angree to apple for this. Because its not normal situation. I always trusted to apple quality but now it seems to me its gone. iPhone3G iOS 4

cannot connect to itunes iphone 3G

Guys,I have windows 7 x64. My wifes 3G just wont get recognized by itunes 9. I have opened a ticket with apple where they made me uninstall and install itunes like 4 times already, had me do a bunch of stuff but nothing has worked. I finally installed itunes on a XP machine and it was able to sync fine but I have no idea what the issue is on the Windows 7 machine that wont let itunes recognize my phone. itunes works fine with my 4G but whenever i connect the 3G itunes just freezes up for a while and then nothing. I do hear the connection sound when i connect the phone which tells me Windows recognizes the 3G being connected but itunes does not.If anyone knows a fix for this, it would be very appreciated!thanks,Ken Windows Windows 7

nice updatesfixes but what about reception issue iphone 4

Dont want to beat a proverbial dead horse, but what about making the iphone 4 a better receiver of calls? My 3Gs was the BEST phone I ever owned. I rarely had a dropped call, I was able to make and receive calls in places where no phone I had owned previously could. When I read that this phone had the best reception of any iphone (according to apple) I went and made the switch. Yes, I read many posts where folks say just that, great phone. I am on iphone 4 number three and all have been plagued with reception issues, thought the first two were worse than this one. I go to the same locations every day and the 3Gs sent and received calls remarkably better. Just sayin..... iphone 4 Number 3 Mac OS X (10.4.7)

iphone 4 Vapor Case

iphone 4 Vapor CaseI found this case (http://www.elementcase.com/iphone4.html)Pics http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/element_case_vapor-540x281.jpghttp://timenerdworld.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/586_vapor.jpgI have been informed by ElementCASE, you will be able to add your own engraving to there product later on down the line.I would like this product if it has the same bottom as the apple Bumper as in has 3 holes in the bottom(1 for the speaker, mic and charger) rather then one big hole. also the removal of the logo which i take it will happen when they allow us to engrave own logos or name in.I am sure you have all seen this case befor. Billing zip and last 4 of social required iphone 4

I resold my iphone 4 to a buyer, and never turned on and activated the phone. When my buyer recieved it, he claims that he cannot activate the phone unless he has my billing zip code and last 4 digits of my social security number.I have no reason to distrust this buyer, but this baffels me. When I asked apple if the phone being sent to me was locked to me personally, they assured me that it was not, and it would only be locked to a phone number after activation.Has anyone else encountered an issue like this? How can I instruct my buyer to activate his iphone 4?

iphone 4 Bug List-iOS 4.0.2

I just wanted to post this topic as Im curious if the apple monster will even read this or address them. I hope I get surprised. apple makes, hands down, the most high quality of devices, but they tend to have it there way more than ours. I guess thats what makes them apple. Without further ado, here is my list of bugs Ive noticed and I hope youll add to it. I would just love to see apple address these:1. Performance issues with Podcasts and multiple-tasking. Youll hear stuttering on occasion, sometimes often while playing a podcast or even music. Ive noticed this at random and also at times when the phone locks or when switching out of the iPod.2. I just noticed this one: if you take the time to write on this exact site, you will find yourself getting lost, as sometimes the text goes on, and the screen doesnt follow it. Suprising that even on the iPhones home site, it cant perform the way it ought to. Youll also notice that below here, its asking me what hardware Im using and what OS. It should be clear what hardware Im on and even what OS Im running. Brilliant, considering this is apple.com, I selected the iphone 4 section, and the browser can report the os version. Oh wow, I just lost my text again and had to press the expanding icon on the bottom right of this pane. Also, sometimes i lose my text permanently where I should be able to scroll down to find it but there arent scroll bars... The attention to detail of the aesthetics of the phone cant be matched on the outside, but again, leave a lot to be desired on the inside.3. Echo for the remote callers own voice when my phone is plugged into a stereo through the headphone jack. Even when my volume is so low, I cant hear it.4. While heavily texting, if I exit out to the home screen after/during the send of the text, my phone will freeze for a good 60-120 seconds. If I press too many buttons, trying to get it to respond, it will reboot itself instead of coming back to life. Again this only happens (very seldom) when Im sending texts to multiple random people and I abruptly go home while a message is being sent (or maybe received?).5. While playing music, the quality will often drop drastically when entering a game or application that has sounds. This has only happened in two places so far. While talking on the phone, if I go to play music on the iPod to hear in my headphones, and when entering Bejeweled 2 Blitz with the in-game music off and the sounds on, while iPod music is being played. I do not believe this is Bejeweled at fault. Try it, make a call and try and play some background music in your headphones. The quality drops to a very unacceptable level.Thats actually all I can think of for now! Please fix these issues apple and I will gain a good bit of respect, knowing you heard and acknowledged this. Also, please, everyone post your findings as well, in addition to the Bluetooth, and proximity bugs that have seemingly been addressed but not resolved. iphone 4 iOS 4 4.0.2, thanks for the option above, and for not already knowing that.

iphone restore stuck

I know there are many threads on restoring the iphone but i could not see anything which helped me resolve my problem. Against my better judgement last night i tried to update my iphone 3g to the new iphone software 4.0.2. Well i wish i hadnt. My iphone is now stuck in recovery mode. I go into itunes to restore it. The green bar on itunes gets to about 75-80% and then just gets stuck there!!!Ive gone through all the steps in the help sections and other forums but it just keeps getting stuck. I even left my phone overnight last night in case it was just taking a long time and it was at exactly the same point i left it!! Any ideas. Ive got a ton of contacts and stuff i cant really lose but dont know where to go from here. Thank you. iphone 3g

Gap between glass and metal band. iphone 4

I have a really thin gaps between the glass and metal band in the upper front and back right corner, and was wondering if anyone else has noticed small gaps between the glass and metal band anywhere on their phone. ive had nothing but crappy customer service at both apple stores near me, but was eventually told by the genius that i could come back with another appointment before the 30 days and swap for a new retail phone in the box. The only thing that worries me is getting a whole new phone with more different problems then the one i have with only the gap issue. The genius also told me that im the first one that has had this issue, yet ive seen threads about a month or so ago with people saying they had the same issue. so as an update, has anyone noticed this now?Message was edited by: xalexinchainsxMessage was edited by: xalexinchainsx 13" MBP Mac OS X (10.6.2)

iOS4 restore not keep app folders iphone 4

Ive had to restore my iphone 4 twice now from a backup, and each time Ive had to spend over an hour recreating folders and reorganizing my apps back into the folders the way I last had them. I guess this is a feature request for backups to retain folder placement and contents, please! The data structures needed seem to exist already and are used by iTunes to remember the apps layout there. iphone charging help

ok, i need help. i bought an iphone 3g 8gb and replaced the battery with a new one. i plug in the usb cable and a battery shows up exactly as the one on the left from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476 , a minimum red power battery with one lightning bolt. then like 3 seconds later the apple logo appears, and another 3 seconds the screen goes blank. is my iphone charging? iphone 3g iOS 4

iphone 3g will not charge and buttons dont seem to work this normal

help please, i put in a new replacement battery in my iphone 3g 8gb. then i plug in the usb cable and for a few short seconds the battery shows with very little red power and also the lightning bolt below. then a few more seconds later the apple logo shows, and a few more seconds and the phone screen turns blank, no buttons do anything. is this normal? i once got it to the plug to itunes screen by holding the home and power button, just by luck. but besides that one time, the buttons are unresponsive, and i dont know if the **** thing is even charging the new battery at all. iphone 3g iOS 4

Had glass screen replaced now iphone randomly shuts down

My wife very recently had her glass screen replaced after a nasty crack. Everything was fine for the first 24 hours or so; now the phone continues to randomly shut off. The screen was replaced (for free!) at an apple Store Genius Bar, not a random cell phone store. Shes performed a couple hard resets, but no luck. At this point Im thinking she should take it back in and have it troubleshot by them, however her time is precious (busy business professional!) so I was curious if anyone on the boards had any ideas before making another appointment...Any input is much appreciated!! Glass Shattered iphone 4

Ive got proof that the glass shattered and im not a happy camper. I was putting something in the trunk and the phone slipped out of my hand and on to the pavement. It was in a case that cost me $35.00 I was sick, had the phone only 2 weeks and the front glass cracked. I went to AT&T and explained what i had did. They were no help here, not covered even if you buy the warranty. So they told me of a phone repair close by. They told me that they could fix it by replacing the screen and it will cost me $179.00 dollars to get it fixed WHAT. Ouch just bought it two weeks prior for $299.00 . What a the huge expense . After hearing all the pros about how flexible the glass is , dont belief everything you read or hear. I still have the phone, tucked away in my purse cause i dont want anyone to see how ugly it looks with the glass cracked. It still works so unhappily im having to make due with what i have very very frustrated. Ive owned a ipod and a previous version iphone, cheaper products by apple that were more rugged and durable, so i am not new to apple products. Perhaps after my contract is up in two years i will not rough be returning to an apple product. What a money making opportunity for a repairman, mine was a simple thing falling out of my hand but what about others who can be tuff on phones because of job, ie contruction workers, cooks etc or how about a family with young children who play a game and start running with it in there hands because a parent is chasing after them to get it back, excited giggling and putting down the phone thinking of the consequences that lie ahead just saying it could happen. I can see this happening the glass shattering. What about people with medical conditions and the phone accidently dropping beyond there control, will it cost $179.00 everytime you do it to replace the screen because afterall we signed a 2 year contract to get it for $299.00. iphone 4 iOS 4

iphone 4 unlocking in UK-o2

I have an iphone 4 on a monthly contract in the UK with o2. My 3GS was unlocked without a problem, however o2 tell me that they cant/wont unlock my iphone 4.I asked them why they wont (as I understand that EU legislation forbids enforced locking) and they told me that apple have said that they arent allowed to unlock iphone 4s. They said that they could do the 3GS, but apple wont let them do the 4s.Does this seem right?! iMac Mac OS X (10.5.6)

iphone 3G no longer recognized by iTunes

I dont know what happened. I havent changed any settings on my pc. I updated my phone software to 4.0.2 last week with no apparent problems. I think Ive charged on my pc since but cant remember for sure. Now when I hook to usb, it goes on and off. Like not the power, but it (the iphone) will connect and show charging and I get the windows message that the apple camera is connected and what do i want to do. then it blinks off, like shows my welcome screen, not charging. then a few seconds later it shows up again and shows to be charging. it goes through this over and over. And iTunes does not recognize the iphone, says an error occurred.Any thoughts or suggestions? Dell XPS 410 Windows XP

poor quality glass panel iphone 4

I am writing to complain about the quality of my new iphone4. As owner of all the previous generations of iphone, I am extremely disappointed that the glass panel of the new iphone was so fragile, that it could not with stand a light fall from about 1.5 feet when I get off the car, the back panel was smashed and I think its totally unacceptable for a product from apple. The broken pieces are with sharp edges and very easy to get people cut!!! And the claim on apple website about the glass is a total lie!!!All the breakthrough technology in iphone 4 is situated between two glossy panels of aluminosilicate glass — the same type of glass used in the windshields of helicopters and high-speed trains. Chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, the glass is ultradurable and more scratch resistant than ever. It’s also recyclable.I request a full refund/replacement for this. iOS 4

Help I have typical question iphone 4

Buy iphone 4 before 9/30,can get a free bumper. But i buy it on 9/1,when i get it,its already October.( if factory and delivery has cost 5 weeks.)How will apple treat these kind of customers the same case like me? Wheather 30 days after you buy it means 30 days after you receive it? iOS 4

I thought it was his computer so I went home to my computer and the same problem occurred! I searched everywhere to try to solve this issue. I even downloaded some stuff that supposily forces iDevices out of recovery mode but nothing worked. I also tried holding the 2 buttons and bam, nothing. Please, anyone with a solution, please help me.update Whenever I try to restore, I get an error message. It happens for firmware 4.0,4.01, and 4.0.2. No Service restore still No Service restore iphone 4

OK, so a few days ago I finally got around to upping to iOS 4.02. The next day, I started getting an abhorrent number of dropped calls, fail to connects, no internet service, the works. Mostly while driving, making this more annoying (the little bzzzzzzzz of a dropped call in my earpiece, not so fun.I am, in fact, in possession of a clue (as well as a degree in Information Systems), so I start troubleshooting on my own. Jumping into an out of Airplane mode (force to look for network) results in a temporary fix - as in, about 3 seconds of connectivity. Resetting ALL network settings seems to result in about the same. After three or four cycles of this, the phone drops service again, but displays a message saying that it was unable to make or recieve calls, and that I needed to preform a restore.Which I did. And it worked. For thirty seconds, and then I got the same message. So I restored. Again. Reset network settings again, just to be safe.It just dropped a call on me to my mother. Im going to have a lot of fun hearing about how I hung up on her, except that I have... you guessed it, No Service. No restore message though.Im using a silicone case, the phone is sitting on my desk now, wasnt touching it, let alone the antenna when any of this happened, using my headset actually, my wifes got 5 bars of tower even using the death grip, and so does my old 3G (work pays for it, so I have 3 AT&T lines) and Im less than a mile away from a tower, and we usually get really good service here. I dont think its an AT&T problem b/c my other lines are fine.Im out of suggestions. Anyone else seeing anything like this? iphone 4 iOS 4 ?

iphone 4-painfully slow wi-fi performance

Ive been experiencing painfully slow wifi performance (about 1/4 the speed of 3G performance) while connected to Wi-Fi.I tried following the advice given in an apple Support article which suggested resetting network settings. I then had to re-enter the password for my wi-fi and it seemed better for a few minutes while after doing that. But then its back to snails pace again.Has anyone else see this? My Wi-Fi router is a Linksys WAG325N with firmware v1.00.12. Its working fine with several macs, an iPad, an iPod Touch and an iphone 3GS. Its only the iphone 4 which has this problem. I can load a given web page on both my iphone 4 and 3GS and the 3GS normally finishes before the iphone 4 has even loaded the page title. Its that bad!Any ideas or suggestions appreciated!thanks,Andrew iphone 4 iOS 4

iphone wont turn on

I think I am fuked. My iphone was constantly freezing today. I did a reset (holding down home and power button) I did that twice. I wanted to sync my phone into iTunes so that I could have all of my photos on my computer before my phone stopped working. Well no point. Wont sync. I try turning it on and syncing and all it does is show the apple logo then it shuts down. I am about to cry right now because all my photos from my trip and my text messages are gone. I cant even get my phone on to even try and reset it. I dont know what to do. Windows XP

Who Has Had Perfect iphone 4 Experience

My iphone experience has been flawless! I ordered on 6/16 in the evening with no problem. Received a ship by 7/14 date and a deliver by 7/14-7/19 date. I received an email from apple on Friday that the order had been released and tracked the package a couple of times over the holiday at my lakehouse for the holiday and received it today (7/6) in mid-afternoon. The sync process was seamless, everything came over. Using the phone around town today, taking photos, sending and receiving texts, and I have not had problem #1. No dropping calls, no damaged or colored screen, no missing iphone when I opened the box. The process has been very well done and the iphone is really outstanding. The screen presentation is amazing, the new form factor is much easier too handle than any of the previous versions. Given that I cant believe everyone writing in is hallucinating, or incompetent or worse, lying...I wonder how many have an excellent experience like I have? I, for one, say thanks apple, great job and also have to extend condolences to those that seem to have less than a great experience. iphone 4 iOS 4 iPad 32 Gb, MacBook Pro 13", Max OS X 10.6.4, apple TV, Time Capsule

Something caught in iphone 3G Dock

I think Ive got some debris or something caught in my iphone 3gs dock. I can still put wires etc in there, but only at an angle. I cant seem to get it out, and dont really want to damage the iphone further by trying anything. Would apple be able to help me? Thanks! iBook G4 1.2Ghz Mac OS X (10.3.x)

Moisture on screen iphone 4

Hi,I bought the iphone on Saturday and I also installed the invisible shield by zagg.On Sunday i was made a call(about 1 hour and the phone was in my ear) and when i close it i saw something like water on the right up section of the screen. On Monday this thing has gone to all the right section of the screen but it somehow starting to disappear. Its not down of the screen protector because i took it off.Its inside the screen.I contact with apple in Greece but because they dont have authority to fix it they just contact with apple in UK to see if the problem exists. They told me that is somekind of common and ill have to wait for 7 days for the moisture to get away of the screen. Is this normal?Did you hear any similar cases?Best regards,Vasilis. iphone 4 iOS 4

Cant update iphone 3G Unable to connect with iTunes

Last night I set up my iphone 3G to upgrade to iOS4, when I wake up this morning it has the connect to iTunes screen. No problem I thought, can sort that out. But iTunes says it cannot fix it as it needs to be the latest version of iTunes, which I have, I even reinstalled it from the website haha.Edit: OK, managed to connect it using another user on my Mac, just need to work out how to restore the old info, as this user still doesnt like it :PMessage was edited by: steffanbno Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.4) iphone 3G

Upgraded to 4.0.2-backup files look weird iphone 3G

I have upgraded a 3G to 4.0.2. The upgrade did NOT invite me to do a backup. (Im scared stiff doing upgardes of any sort and always opt for backups if Im given the chance!) I dont understand why the files which are on my hard disk where (I think) backups should be dont seem to match the backups that iTunes thinks I have. Please can anyone explain to me why they look different and what backups I do really have?On my hard disk in location Macintosh HD-Users-myname-Library-iTunes-iphone Software Updates I have just one item. It is called iPhone1,2_4.0.2_8A400_Restore.ipsw and it was modified at the time I did the upgrade to 4.0.2. It is 305.4MB. In that folder of iphone Software Updates there is nothing else and the folder itself was modified at the exact same time ie when I did the upgrade. However, if I look in iTunes under iTunes-Preferences-Devices under Device backups it tells me I have 3: the first is dated when I did the upgrade to 4.0.2; the next is from 20 months ago; and the 3rd is from 6 months ago.To me it seems that iTunes thinks I have 3 backups but I can only see 1 on my hard disk. Please can someone explain whats going on?

iphone Slightly Messed Up-iphone softwae server could not be contacted

Okay so my iphone is kind of messed up. I have a music problem ( in that in speeds it up, even though i changed headphones and it randomly pauses music) i have a slowness issue like most people, but to get frm the lock screen to messages it takes a matter of minutes, it takes 1 minute to get to the screen for me to enter my password and a minute or two to type it in and load then another minute to get on messages! im really annoyed. apple are suppose to be the best company out but with so many problems with their iphones i am really not believing this!whenever i try to restore my iphone 3G, i get the message the iphone softwae server could not be contacted. my network settings are FINE. as i am on the internet. what is going on!? it wouldnt work last night either. i want to get back to 3.0 without jailbreaking obviously.i hate apple at the moment ¬___¬ Mac & Pc iOS 4 I have iphone 3G, iPod Touch, Mac Desktop
