my iphone 4 is locked on carrier etisalat Egypt the contract is over from 18 months and called them to unlock it but they told me that to contact apple directly so i want to unlock it is there any support please?

SOUND BAR SUDDENLY DISSAPEAR iPhone 4

It looks like a very common problem but I need a solution. I have an iPhone 4 GSM and some times the sound bar dissapear and the only sound I can hear is the ring tone. Non the messages tone, sound on videos, music, keyboard clicks or the block/unblock sounds are available. I been told that the porblem is caused by an error on a file named:  com.apple.iapd.plist  is there a way to fix or repair this file? I will appreciate any help you can provide.

october 1st i bought a iphone 5 on vodafone contract. The phone was extremley fun and easy to use and was completley new i was happy i switched from my galaxy ace. Then a couple of weeks back i lost my iphone so i phoned vodafone and got it blocked along with the sim. Then i found it and i asked vodafone to unblock and send me a new sim (because while taking it out i accidently damaged it) so they unblocked it and sent a new sim i had this sim activated and put in my iphone i waited 24 hours for it to be activated after 24 hours i had no bars i couldnt call or text but i could surf the web without wifi so i phoned them again and they sent another sim i inserted and waited 24 hours same problem. I know it is a hardware issue does my warranty cover this ??? Does anyone else have this problem

Try this, go to settings, restrictions, turn restrictions on, block the camera, save it. the app will disapear from ur home screen. go back to settings, restrictions, unblock camera and then turn the phone off ! once it is turned back on it worked FINALLY goodluck! At one point I asked Sprint to unlock my phone and I was able to use it outside of the US. I didn't get until now a idea why and how and also I didn't see until know a structure behind this failure. I dropped by iPhone 4S two days after buying it, and would therefore like to get the damaged screen repaired at the authorized service center. I took it to etisalat (the carrier where I bought it) and explained clearly that I am aware that this kind of damage is not covered by warranty, and that I will pay for the repairs. They took the device, two weeks later it was returned un-fixed with a message saying "Physical damage is not covered by warranty". I resubmited the device, this time writing "Please quote for replacing the damage screen at my own expense. I am FULLY aware this is not covered by warranty".  Two weeks later...<drum-roll> the phone is back un-fixed with a message saying "Screen physically broken, not covered by warranty" So if anyone reading this has any suggestion on where / how to get this phone repaired without voiding the warranty please let me know. Clearly the carrier (or their service center Technocare) are clueless.  Thanks.

Phone Wrongly Blocked iPhone 4

spent most of last weekend trying to find out why my phone wouldn't send or receive, couldn't sort it so on Monday I spoke with orange who told me my sim must be faulty, they sent me an new one, the problem was still there. Spoke again with orange who told me the phone had been black listed and I need to speak to Apple. Spoke to apple they confirmed the phone was registered to me and there didn't appear to be a reason why it should be blocked. So back to Orange, after checking it out the told me my phone had been wrongly blocked by UK blocking, whoever they are. Orange said it wasn't anything to do with them but the would contact this organisation and get them to unblock the phone, I understand Orange sent them an e-mail last Thursday, I'm still waiting for it to be unblocked, I've even had to go and buy a cheap phone to tied me over it's sorted.Has any one experienced this at all??   Chris

How I use Siri to make calls using 82 to unblock my restricted number iPhone 4S

I just upgraded, very happily, from a Droid X, to the iPhone 4S.  On my droid I made two separate contact lists, for example one of my contacts may have read something like this: John DoeHome: 916-555-1111 Jane DoeMobile: *82916-555-2222 So when I called John he would see an unknown caller, but Jane Jane would see its me.  I just touch the appropriate widget.  Now on the iPhone 4S I enter the same, and when I use Siri, "she" can call John no problem, but when I ask Siri to call Jane, Siri can't seem to place the call.  Of course I can touch the contact and it will call no problem, but in order to go total hands free and take full advantage of Siri, I would have to always call with my number being blocked.  Does anyone know of a way to use Siri to dial a number using *82 so I can reveal my number to whom I choose? I have tried all kinds of combos using area codes, dialing a 1 first before area code, no area code even using the 'wait' button so it looks like *82;9165552222, but still have not figured it out.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.  R. home button not working and Apple not fixing it Weird iPhone 4

Here it is what I have been told about replacing my iPhone: We'll send you a courier, he'll get the phone, you'll need to contact the courier, you'll pay €29 and we'll stop the cost of the iPhone on your card (550€ more or less) upon receiving a new iPhone. When we receive the old one if we find no fault with it, we'll keep €160 from tha caution or else if a major fault exists we'll unblock the 550€.  I honestly think it's a joke and Apple should start seriously thinking about recalling the faulty iPhones or issue a bug fix as it seems to be a programming fault!  I'll be blogging about this nightmare (I have been calling the helpline for weeks now) and will ask my 1600 friends on Facebook to share the story. Hopefully Apple will hear given the fact that it doesn't seem to listen!

My roomate he lost his iphone like a month back and he got a new one using his insurance, He left the country for good two weeks ago and the iphone was found on the couch under the pillows in the living room.. but is not working properly, so for some reason after a while it says iphone needs to cool down before you can use it(There is a small crack on the screen too).The iphone has been blocked for all the uk networks so mainly i was using it for games ...Is also IMEI blocked since he declared it lost and My friend told me that I cant unblock by calling o2 it as the insurance will request it back ...but he said that he would sell it for me for 100 GBP and that apple should repair it for me under warranty if I take it there and I wont have any issues ..I am a bit sceptical about doing so as I am not sure about the validity of his words and I dont want to get into trouble...Any ideas? Lost MMS settings in iOS 4.2 update iPhone 3G

Hi there,I have an iPhone 3G with etisalat Egypt. When I upgraded from iOS4.1 to 4.2, all of the MMS settings were lost and I had to re-enter them manually (APN, MMSC, MMS Proxy, Max Message Size.). The same thing happened when I upgraded iOS 4.1. Is this a known issue, or does it just happen with some combinations of operator and iPhone hardware? Brand new iPhone 4 16GB-signal issue

Hi chaps, I just purchased a 16GB Iphone 4 from the official carrier in UAE (etisalat), I had a Nokia E90 previously and never ever had any issues with signal loss ... Both me & my gf got iphones and this is what I notice all the time for the past 2 days since I got the phone. Side by side the E90 and my Sony Ericsson K810i have at least 90% of 3g signal while the iPhones (both) only have 1 or 2 bars and I dont get 3G either, I even turned 3G off and restarted and did everything the customer care told me , but no help .. Facetime Waiting for Activation Issue When switching S cards iPhone 4

I have an unlocked iPhone 4 from the UK. I first had an Orange France SIM card installed and all went well... Facetime was working fine. However, when I came to Dubai I inserted my local (etisalat) SIM. The phone was functioning ok, except for Facetime. When I tried to switch it on from Settings, it kept saying Waiting for Activation.I am an advanced user. So, all basic things are checked: WiFi, Tried to reboot phone, tried hard reset, even tried Total restore, tried different WiFi network, SMS working, MMS working, 3G working...etc. I even tried the solution on Apples site (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4246).... Still no luck.Few things to note:1) I have a friend who has iPhone 4 on the same etisalat network, and his Facetime works fine. The only difference is that etisalat was the first SIM he put in.2) I tried to switch back to my Orange SIM while still in Dubai, and at first, Facetime showed Waiting for Activation, BUT when I rebooted, it was active and working fine... tried to insert the etisalat SIM after that... and back to waiting for activation issue.3) Did same above with my AT&T SIM ... and got same result as with Orange France SIM4) Tried to call 888-facetime and they just referred me to the case referenced above, and the simple answer that your carrier may not support it! Thanks!!! I told the guy I know someone on the same network working on Facetime.I think the problem is that Facetime needs to be re-registered from the Orange # to the etisalat # and for some reason that is not happening smoothly to the etisalat #... However, how can I get that done... I cannot even find an email address to send to apple regarding this problem...If any of the Apple Tech staff reading this please respond!!! THANKS. iPhone 4 iOS 4

Data Connection Issues with iphone 3G

I have my iphone 3G (16GB, black) for 2 years, but only recently I subscribed to a data plan with my mobile provider (etisalat, UAE).The problem I face is that sometimes the data symbol in the status bar of my iphone 3G is not there, and during this period (of course) I have no data connection, so I cannot connect to the internet, get emails, etc. I may have full signal but no data connection ! (neither 3G, or Edge or GPRS). Wi-fi works perfect always.If I reboot the phone, the symbol appears again; for a limited period only though, and then is lost again, in which case I have to reboot again .....Turning the Airplane Mode on-off, or enabling-disabling 3G will not restore the data connection. Sometimes if I eject the SIM and insert it again the data connection is restored and the symbol is shown again. Only rebooting has 100% success so far in restoring the data connection with the provider (unfortunately for a limited period only).I have the latest software (3.1.3) and carrier settings from Apple.Is it a SIM, hardware or software issue?Any ideas? Hi All,I have got a new iPhone handsent ( i used to have another before ) anyway, i got the same contacts entries with MS Outlook, same iTunes, same everything, but i do suffer the following :1. If i go a call i can see the name of the caller but if its a missed call or i do reject it, i find it later in the recent calls with just a number and no name.2. Contact name showing when receiving call but not in missed calls list iPhone

My friend is having a problem on her iPhone 3GS. Whenever she receives calls from people in the phonebook, their names appear with no problem. But if she doesnt answer the call, only the number appears in the missed calls list and not the name.This is occurring on her phone with contacts which are stored with the country code (e.g. +966XXXXXXXXX). In the missed call list, the number appears as 0XXXXXXXXX. I tried to replicate this problem on my phone but I didnt have a problem; names showed up properly on my iPhone when she called me, and even in the missed call list, and her number was also stored with the country code in my phonebook.Both our phones are officially unlocked. I bought mine from Mobily (official iPhone carrier in Saudi Arabia) and she bought hers from etisalat (one of the official iPhone carriers in UAE, which is also Mobilys parent company) but both have the exact model number. We are both using the same carrier in Saudi Arabia; STC (we can do this because the phones are officially unlocked). We also both synced our contacts to our new iPhones via Google Sync (we both migrated from the Blackberry 8900 Curve).I checked the regional settings on both phones, and we are both using the US settings (since Saudi Arabia isnt one of the available options)The only difference that I found was that she had iPhone OS 3.1.2 and I have iPhone OS 3.1.First of all, how can she fix this issue?Second of all, will I have this problem if I upgraded to 3.1.2?I checked on-line, and it seems that most people install a region-fix via Cydia to support their countrys phone number format. However, neither of us are interested in installing Cydia or using any unofficial fix. My phone is stock and so is hers, how come the numbers show-up properly on my phone? Mostly I read about people getting unknown caller when an in-coming call is received from a person in the phone book. Ok before anyone says anything…. i have tried looking for a solution on this blog for the past 2 days....but i just couldn’t come to grips with a solution to my problem..so plzzzz hear me out...Ok my Dad’s in Riyadh (kingdom of Saudi) and he was using an iphone 3G (2.2) which he received from Mobily last year with a one year plan.. well after the plan expired in 1 yr he gave the iphone to me... I live In Dubai (United Arab Emirates)…..i DIDNT unlock it or jailbreak it....( its factory unlocked...i think… I assumed so as it works fine with My etisalat al wasel SIM..).. and i have been using it for the past few months without subscribing to any data package plan from etisalat & it works PERFECTLY fine..(I use Wifi extensively for internet purposes) I have been reading about all the cool new features about the iphone OS 3.0 and NOW iam thinking of updating my iphones firware to 3.0.1...(which is currently 2.2 on my phone)…..but iam a bit reluctant to do it, afraid that it might get bricked.... my dad has no clue if it has been registered with itunes or not in riyadh in another computer or anything to that effect.. so no help from him....(it was a gift from mobily to him thus he has NO receipts or anything)...iam just so afraid of doing anything with the phone coz i just love the phone..and i SO dont wanna mess it up...my questions is, is it safe for me to update to OS 3.0 from Dubai itunes while not having subscribed to etisalats data package plan? A challenge of a question. My nephew has a 3G iPhone, factory unlocked purchased in the UK. When using it in the United Arab Emirates with etisalat or Du (Telcos) prepaid SIM card, the money just evaporates without even making a single call and all 3G features turned off, in addition to push, etc... When contacted they claim that the phone not purchased from etisalat has a bug which is causing this.
