Hi there! There are troubles with Facebook push notifications on my two iPhones 4 (iOS 6.1.2) and 4S (iOS6.1.3) and on my Macbook Pro 15 (OS X 10.8.3). There are no any push notifications about new messages or "likes" by integrated Facebook App and by Facebook app prom iTunes too. I have notifications in notification center about statuss updates and comments, but sounds there are no at all. Everything in settings are switched on:-Settings/Facebook-Settings/Notifications/Facebook-Facebook/Account Settings/Notifications/Mobile push I have done anything i can. Signed Out from all apps, deleted Facebook App, swithed off and then swithed on notifications, Signed In again and again. What can i do to solve this problem? I realy need notifications about messages on iOS and OS X.
Hello, Which mode uses most battery when the phone is on standby and on a wifi network and has 2G (EDGE) coverage.. 2G+wifi or just wifi? I believe it is 2G+wifi because when you put your phone to sleep, it turns off wifi leaving push connected through 2G which consumes very low power. If I have only wifi enabled, the phone can't turn off wifi otherwise it'd lose the push connection. Thanks.
I push the button on my new iPhone but it will not turn off. Any suggestions?
my sleep/ wake button wont push anymore on my tmobile iphone 4 and i dont have apple care so how could i fix it and how much
What of you push the ? Button and it doesn't do anything.
Ok.what if you are on the voicemail thing and don't know your Passcode and can't get off and the question mark button won't work...
Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all push activity. After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours. I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery? My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.
Hi, I just upgraded to IOS 6.1.4 this morning no issues Upgrade went well. Now My Email push Notfication is not working. 1. Bussiness Gmail Account - Configured as Exchange2. Hotmail Account - Configured as Exchange Both Account - push is ON if some one send email i am not getting it. I have to manually open the Native Email client then i can see. Restarted the IPhone Twice. Any one facing similar issue?
I got an iPhone 5 on Friday and the battery *****. I've read every single forum, done everything, reset all settings, drained battery to 0 and then back up, even restarted to factory settings, turned off push, limited notifications, every thing every forum has told me to do. I even went to apple and they were no help at all, telling me my battery was normal. I don't think sleeping with 100% and waking up with 75% is normal, or getting 2 hours if limited use from my phone throughout the day. I have no idea what to do and I'm getting so tired of this. I did not pay 1000$ and wait 5 months for this. I really expected so much more. Someone help me, and give me a right answer, to help me fix this. Seriously getting so ******. Not even lasting longer than my iPod touch. <Edited By Host>
Hello, my iphone 4S locks by it self. I push the lock button and nothing happen, i think that the lock button flex is no working good. Any of you have an idea about it?thaks.
I have an Iphone 5 with the 6.1.3 software. This week about 5 of my apps had an update. Since the update i noticed that my iphone's battery life has been horrible. It takes twice as long to charge and it drains twice as fast. I have my setting for brightness turned all the way down, push notifications turned off, and pretty much i have to manually update everything on my iphone. I had these setting for a while now and all of a sudden my battery life stinks. Any ideas?
It's responsive and I've already figured out the assisted home button, but my actual home button seems to be stuck down. It's really hard to push down and double clicking it is almost impossible! How can I unstick it myself??
My lock button takes 3 or 4 attempts to lock, and you have to push it hard and at an angle to get it to work, anyone else had this problem?
I think that my operator blocked the push notifications for iDevices, what can I do???
Oh so the lock button is barely pressable. I have to push extreme hard for the lock screen to turn on and off. Are there any easy solution? Or like options? I really hae no idea what to do. I blew on it to see if dubris was stopping it from working, but it didn't help :(
Ok so, since yesterday afternoon, while i was on my facebook, it suddenly popped out that there's a problem with the connection blah blah blah, but it was still connected to the wifi, so I just ignored it for a while, until i want to use it but i can't, coz every app that needs wifi was just loading & loading and it took forever but i wasn't updating to the latest post like that.. I opened my tumblr, twitter, instagram, imessage and facebook, but it's stuck on the same last post from yesterday. It really bothers me, I reset the network setting for a couple of times, and nothing happens. If you're gonna ask what carrier i have, It's MTS but i don't have a sim. Yet i can still use it like an ipod. the push notfication shows on my iphone, like when it's locked and someone message me on fb or retweet something on twitter. Then when i do open that notification, and the app will load then it'll stop. I also updated it to the latest iOS (6.1.3) a month ago. What do i need to do??? Need Help.
I have the iPhone 5 that I got the day it came out last September. The battery has always been pretty bad, but lately overnight it loses about 10-15%. I have to charge my phone every night, and I go to bed with it at 100% when I wake up a few hours later (about 5 hours) it's down to about 85%. I always make sure that no apps are open, I turn off the wifi, data, location and I don't get push notifications for mail. I also have do not disturb on and don't get any texts. It's not only over night, when using my phone I lose about 5% within 5 minutes. Is there any way to fix this, I'm always having to charge my phone. I have done the calibration before, charging it to 100 then let it get to 0 then charge it to 100. Can I fix this at all?
Can't receive Facebook notifications since push notifications won’t save in the Facebook app. Every time I click one it just refreshes and it reads in the yellow top bar “Changes Saved” but it unclicks the notifications I selected, any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi, I dropped my iPhone 5 in my baby's bath twice yesterday, both times I got the phone out quickly but it was fully submerged. My battery has now gone flat but my charger won't push all the way in to charge it, can anyone help?
Hello. I have an iPhone 4. Software version is 4.3.5. I currently have the sound button on. No headphones plugged. When push the sound button up or down, I have on scree the usual volume screen, however, it says ringer (headphones) instead of just ringer. I have no sounds coming from apps (notifications...) and no sound coming from locking (it is set on on the settings). I cannot listen to the iPod music without headphones (no sound comes out of speakers). I only have these sounds when I plug headphones and the sounds come via headphones. Also, if I have the iPod on, with headphones, the iPod does not turn off when I remove headphones. I already switched it off and tried forced reset. Any ideas to solve this, please? Thank you
I keep getting a pop-up every time I try to use Snapchat. It says "Connect to iTunes to Use push Notifications." I just got the phone yesterday, so I have nothing to restore it to. I've tried doing a full system restart and this does nothing. I've deleted and redownloaded the app multiple times. I've tried to use a friends AppleID thinking that it may have something to do with my login, but that does not work either. I don't have an Apple Store anywhere near me, but if I have to, I can take it back to AT&T. Help?
Here's my journey. I had the iPhone 5 from the day it was realeased. Was with Vodafone Australia. Phone was awesome. Coverage was an issue, so decided to swap to Telstra recently. Got new iPhone 5 with the change over. From the beginning, the new Iphone on Telstra, the battery was draining completely in less than 3 hours. Looked at the support communities and spoke to Apple. I made the mistake of setting the phone up from a "BackUp". They suggested setting it up as a "new phone" in iTunes. Did that - phone had been awesome until 4 days ago when I decided to "Update All" of the pending App updates. After all was downloaded the phone returned to its draining self, also becomign VERY VERY HOT when charging. Warmer than normal. Also got a SMS from Telstra to say I have used 82% of my download entitlement. With 22 days remaining!!!! Something wasnt right, not only was it using the battery life, cellular data usage was being drained also. Spoke to Apple, they told me I would need to do a process of elimination to find the "corrupt" app that was draining the Battery & Data. I deleted every single App I had on the phone, yet it made no difference. I started to monitor the cellular data recieved on the phone. With no apps and nothing running, how is there data and battery being drained. Decided yesterday to"RESTORE" iPhone once again. Set up as a new phone. I had loaded my email settings, but nothing else. I hadnt even provided my Apple ID infomation so the App Store wasnt logged in. Phone was still not right. Played with some settings, decided to turn my "Exchange" email from "push" to "Manually Fetch". After this, the phone was back to normal. No cellular data being downloaded and battery OK. Turned Exchanged back to push, then the battery decides to trickle away again. After all this ********, I have narrowed it down to the way my exhcnage server checks for new messages. I have ALWAYS had my Exchange server push emails to me. Why with this phone, on 6.1 should I have to have it to Manually check for emails. I get the feeling from conversations with other people, there seems to be alot of unknown data usage which Apple need to make a priority in preventing. This is costing consumers time and money. Curious if anyone else has had same issue?
Over the past couple of days, my phone (iphone 4) has been random vibrating and/or making various sounds. When this happens, there are no notifications. It will just sound or buzz for what seems to be no reason. Most of the time, my applications are not on. I have push on for my mail application, but that's it. The phone is in good condition, it's never been dropped or damaged in any way. Anybody else experiencing something similar to this?
Since the update for IOS 6.2.1 about 4 days ago, I have noticed deteriorated battery life from the prior version. As a workaround I have tried to reset my phone and reset all email information as recommended. Updated settings to prevent push notifications, removed notifications and many other functions that were not causing me problems before, but to no avail. Within 15 minutes of my phone being disconnected from the charger, the battery life decreases by 5-7% with the phone idle (Screen off). Has anyone else encountered this and have you been able to correct the issue?Thank you!
Where exactly are those restriction? I can't find then.
I have a problem with my iPhone's batterie life. I have tried everything I've read. I changed push notifications, location services and everything I could. Brightness, etc. the batterie lasts for less than 2 hours even in no use. I have it since December 25th. Can I get a guarantee?Help please!!
All of a sudden, yesterday, my battery began draining at about 1% per minute even while locked. I have IOS 6.1.2 and this had not happened before I updated to that software. I have turned off loction services, most of my mail and calendar push, bluetooth and a number of other functions and the battery still drains. Is this a know problem? Is there a fix available or in the works?
I keep getting a connect to Itunes to turn on push notifications and im not getting alerts on my notifications..... How do I turn my push notifications on with Itunes?
I just cannot get my push notifications to work at all. All the settings are set correctly for them to work but they simply won't. It's making me so angry I just bought the phone today and already am encountering a problem.
Updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1.2 a few hours ago, and I feel that my iPhone 5's battery life has gotten ALOT worse than when it was on iOS 6.1.1 (although battery life was pretty bad there too). Phone was 100% after a full battery charge, 95% after recieving a 3minute call (WiFi & cellular off). Played Subway Surfers for a few minutes, battery went down from 95% to 89%. Phone is now currently on 71% with ---- USAGE: 35 minutes STANDBY: 1hour -NOTIFICATIONS / push NOTIFICATIONS ARE ALL OFF EXCEPT FOR MESSAGING AND PHONE CALLS-iCLOUD OFF-BRIGHTNESS AT ITS LOWEST-NO ACCOUNTS SYNCED ON MAIL Also, phone is a bit warm. This hasn't happened with the previous iOS updates. I updated through iTunes by the way.
Since a couple of days I have a massive problem with my iphone 5 battery. The time of usage went down to 3-4 hours without doing anything with the phone. You can listen the downcount of the battery control. WiFi, Bluetooth, hotspot is in off-mode, email push in manual mode, LTE is active. Is it possible that hidden processes are running in the background which have an enormous energy consumption? The backside of the phone is quite warm in recharging-mode of the battery as well as in normal usage mode. I bought the phone in September 2012. Does anybody has an idea?
I have recently received an email from Vodafone Uk to inform me that my iPhone has been unlocked. However, upon connecting to iTunes and doing a restore my phone will still not accept my new sim. As I understand I have to wait for Apple to update their database but I wondered if I could push this through any quicker or is there a way I can check to see whether it has been unlocked or not. Thanks very much in advance. R
So, since ‘upgrading’ my iPhone 5 to 6.1 on Monday, my iPhone has pretty much become useless. Any attempt to get through the day and I have to turn off Bluetooth, Siri, Wifi, email push, location… Pretty pointless having a smartphone really when you have to turn everything off without charging it twice a day. So today, the wife and I were going out so I decided to leave the phone at home sat on my bedside table, with 100% battery just to see what I'd come home to. No apps open. Email set to manual fetch. Here is the result when I got home. 15% battery life. 35 minutes of usage, 10hrs on standby. 0MBs of data downloaded, 0MBs of data uploaded. So my phone has been sat there for 10 hours, no apps open and the battery has drained by 85%. Last week I did two complete restores via iTunes. I deleted my IMAP email account and readded it. I've turned pretty much everything off and yet still, something is draining the battery. I'm playing dumb on Monday and taking it back to the EE store I bought it from with a screen grab of today's usage. I know it's a software fault but unless EE can convince me otherwise, I'm demanding a new phone. This time last week my iPhone was the greatest gadget I owned. Today, it's a useless piece of metal and glass. I'm hoping that when you pay a large sum of money each month and are tied in to a contract for 24 months, you're entitled to demand compensation or at least a new phone. Watch this space.
I've called DMV on two different days and used there call back system, instead of wating on the phone for an hour. When DMV automated call back system calls back and ask me to choose to push option #1 to connect, it doesn't recognize my push and just continues to ramble on about if I want to connect to push #1. Again, I've done this on two seperate days and wasted already two much needed calls and unfortunately don't have a house phone and work phones don't call outside numbers. Can someone at apple try this and see if this is a problem with the iphone or just me. Thanks
If i use my iphone power button it seems not to respond? but aometimes all i need to do is push it once and it works? seems odd? thanks
I use my iPhone 5 in this way: about 40 minutes talk time, alarm clock, texting fewer than 10 a day, checking weather, downloading a couple of songs per week, and browsing iTunes once weekly. Listen to iPod music about 20 minutes a day.I charge the phone to 100% every other day, but it loses battery power very quickly, even when just sitting. Location and Bluetooth are off, as is push notification. Is this just a flaw in the phone?
I recently purchased an iPhone 4s when it was running iOS 5.1.1. I eagerly updated to iOS 6 as soon as it was available. I had been seeing slightly less-than-optimal battery life of 5.1.1, but iOS 6 delivered simply terrible battery life. I have scoured through many forums and found nothing that worked. I have even tried restoring as a new phone, but with no results. Before I go ahead and make a Genius Bar appointment, is there anything I can do to fix this? I have reset all settings, turned off bluetooth, turned off push mail and notifications and location for unnecessary things, including system services, disabled Siri, turned down brighness, gone through charge cycles, done hard reboots, and removed unnecessary syncing services. Yet my battery still fails to deliver. Can anyone recommend anything else to try? As a reference, I get about 5-6 hours of light usage (checking email, checking news briefly, maybe watching a few YouTube videos) with 10-12 hours of standby on a good day. There have been days where I got up to 8 hours on very restricted usage. On bad days, when I throw in 15-20 minutes of games and more heavy video, I get 4 hours of usage maximum. I got far more than this on my iPod Touch 4G running iOS 5.1.1, so I was rather startled by this performance. If this is normal, and the iPhone battery in general isn't too good, please let me know. However, I have a strong feeling that this is unusual. If no solution presents itself, I will be going to see the Genius Bar.
I charged it last night and used at for 11 minutes, now I woke up there's only 92% with 11 minutes of usage and 8 hours standby :(I had location services off already but not the push email notification, but do we really need to turn this off when apple tested the battery of their products with everything turned on? They advertised 40 hours of music, 8 hours of web browsing through 3G/4G But even if I turn push notifications of, I can barely reach 5 hours if usage (web browsing and playing some games for a short time). Is there any solution for this? Sometimes it becomes hot.
On my iphone I installed Clash of Clans. On its first launch I got the push notifications popup: "Clash of Clans"Would Like to Send You push NotificationsNotifications may include alerts, sounds and icon badges. These can be configured in SettingsDon't Allow / OK At first I didn't want them so I chose Don't Allow. Later I wanted them back anyway so I went to Settings > Notifications to turn the notification center settings back on, but they already were. I didn't get any push notifications though while the game was playing/running. Could that have anything to do that I denied them on the app's first launch? If so, how do I reset that? I tried using 'clear all settings' in the iphone settings, but that didn't help. Also tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, but that didn't work either. Instead of starting over, the game continued from the last settings. Including levels, game setup, buildings, etc. When you accidentaly choose Don't Allow on such first push notification popups, how can you reset that. Or change it back to allow push notification permissions should you change your mind afterwards?
My iphone 5 lock button only works if I push it in a certain place If I go to the apple store will they replace it? I dropped it a couple months ago and there's a small dent on the top
Ok everytime I go into youtube then search for soemthing then it says cant connect to youtube I dont know why my internet is connect just fine I could connect to Safari and when I go on yahoo messenger app and this thing comes up saying connect to Itunes to turned ON push Notifications now I dont know what thte problem is??????
Hi I am in search of a chat app/IM App that would work with iOS 4.2.1 for iPhone 3G. Something like WhatsApp or the various IM apps such as Talk, Nimbuzz, IMO etc. The issue I have is that most of these apps now only work on 4.3 or higher, and the iPhone 3G cannot be updated to 4.3. I have tried using Talk Lite with gtalk but it needs some fiddling with the google account before it works and does not have push notification. Can anyone suggest any good IM app for 4.2.1 that has push notifications, I don't mind what the service is gtalk, windows messenger/live, jabber, whatever Many thanks
question: Is my IPhone 4S now defective/defunct for use with a bad push button for on/off and screensaver, or is there a mechanical fix that an Apple Store Genius can do to pop that button out again?
I know that I've been obsessive over my Iphone, constantly trying to save battery life by turning off wifi, bluetooth, push, you name it. Then why does mny Iphone 5 keep getting its battery life drained so quickly? It's only a couple weeks old, and the battery life lasts about nine hours max. I've had no usefull help with apple support, having restored my Iphone and having it updated to 6.0.2, I am reading that it makes battery life even worse? <Edited by host>
Hello, I've just got an iPhone 5. It runs very well and stuff but when i enter my password when downloading a App, it sometimes gets a tiny (or multiple, like a pixel wide) horizontal stripes on the keyboard. Sometimes it is across the whole width sometimes just one letter, and when i push that letter it disappears Does anyone has also had this problem and knows what it is ? It's not like it is troublesome because it only occurs when entering password (not when playing games, texting,.....) but i just wonder what it is ? And maybe a solution ? Kind Regards,Rob
i just got my new iPhone 5 16gb last week. updated to new 6.0.2 updates i do not have installl any heavy application, only Facebook, yahoo and flickrs i notice my phone is always lag, not responding to touch, and the most annoying part is it always ****** me up when i use the OSK (on screen keyboard). when i try to use the OSK, for example when i want to click BACKSPACE, it will randomly push A, Q, T for many times. i cannot get my msg done. i try to do the soft reboot, restart but it only good for half day before it start doing the problem again. the most annoying part is when it did not respond to my touch. what is the problem with this? this explain my problem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgnkWjGvkYo
Just today this started: Initiated a call or received a call, removed from face, see screen, tap "end call" button 1 time, nothing happens. Button doesn't even register a tap.Tap button again, button registers tap, goes to black screen. After a beat or so, screen comes back. Call did NOT end. End call button does not end the call, ever. Sometimes, tapping the 'end call' button will make the screen go black and it won't come back. Call is still going. Have to tap the home button to get the screen to come back. Reproduced in low light (thought it was the sensor) and full sunlight. (same behavior) Tapping the speaker icon, setting the phone to speaker phone THEN hitting 'end call' makes it work as usual. So it's not that the touch screen doesn't work. I've reset the phone many times. I've turned off alarms and push. Suggestions? Thank you!
My email icon continues to display a 1 badge when there are no emails in either inbox it is connected to. Not even emails i have opened already, literally no emails in the inbox and the ap displays a 1. This is really annoying to me because I actually keep my inbox clean. The account that seems to have the problem is my school account which is an outlook web account. Problem just developed within the last couple days and I have been using the phone with iOS6 for a couple months. Any help appreciated!
