I bought an iPhone 4 locked to Orange UK why can't it be unlocked
I contacted Orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iPhone, why can't Apple help on this issue? I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. What is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. People find ways to cheat and ripoff people who doesn't deserve to pay extra for the phone they bought. else having trouble charging their iphone 5
hey! i upgraded to an iphone 5 in october 2012. ive always had the iphones and never had a problem with them before. however, this phone has decided it no longer wants to charge, at first i thought it was the usb so i brought a new one for it. but it didnt charge it either. i have tried using different sockets ive even used my dockinstation but nothing works. the phone is all up to date and shows a message stating 'this accessory is not meant for charging' , anyone else having the same problem?

iPhone 5 not ringing or alerting of texts calls going to voice mail
My iPhone 5 recently started having problems with the ringer. The ringer will be turned all the way up, the mute button is NOT being used and the phone will not ring for calls or alert for texts. It is not always happening, but more so than not. I have tried rebooting the phone, the OIS is up to date and I do not have the "Do Not Disturb" set. I can be in the same spot with LTE and full signal have a call/text that is missed then receive a call/text and it rings. Does not seem to matter if the call is coming from a land line, same Verizon carrier cell or different carrier cell there is no noticable reason. Any ideas???
iPhone 5-rattling phone second replacement coming
hi guys. i can see this is a common issue. i have heard a few different reasons about why this is happening. either it's the autofocus mechanism or the vibrate motor.whatever the reason, this should not be happening on a £600 piece of hardware. the quality control at apple is not what it used to be and when they are rushing to manufacture millions of devices to tight deadlines in china then this is a problem that was going to happen sooner or later.i am of the opinion that this is a fault with possibly more than 50% of all iphones manufactured to date and apple needs to do a product recall. it seems that they have told staff to not admit this as a fault to try and avoid just that.i got a replacement and it arrived, the rattle was slightly less noticable but definitely still there. i just ordered another replacement and will continue to keep doing so until i get a device that doesn't rattle.before anyone says that this is normal and it is SUPPOSED to rattle, that is BS. i have been to the apple store in brighton and tried the display models and even tried a few they had in the back after speaking with a staff member. out of the 12 phones i went through, 2 didnt rattle AT ALL. Now you tell me if that is normal and people should just put up with the substandard product that apple has churned out this time. I say NO, and the more people that actually make a stand, the quicker apple will be forced to spend some of their $600B on fixing this issue.
Trouble Restoring iPhone iPhone 4S
I am having trouble restoring my iPhone. When I try to restore it, it says I need to update my iPhone first but I have already done so and my iPhone says it is currently up to date. I also just try and dowload the update again to just try it and it comes up with an error and won't finish everytime. Help please!Also- another question, my iPhone will never finish syncing but will back up the phone. Just says "Waiting for changes to be applied."

I have been trying to update my iPhone's software for the past few weeks due to my current provider not being found. (A bar that says "Searching" is always at the top where my 3G should be.) Yet whenever I try directly from my iPhone, it always end with an error message. So, yesterday I tried updating directly from itunes and I let it download the new update and all that. However, after it finished trying to update my iPhone, it put my iPhone in a recovery mode and I've been trying to fix it eversince. I can not access my iPhone, all it has is an icon saying to connect to itunes. I've tried troubleshooting, checking my software, updating my computer etc. yet it still leaves me with this message: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1)." I've looked on the apple site and I've made sure my security is up to date, my computer is up to date, my itunes is up to date and that I have restarted my computer. I am very irritated and I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do because my warranty is over with apple and I still have a few years on my contract. Why Apple store keeps replacing my iPhone 5 with faulty ones
This is a true story.Since 5 months ago I have received 3 faulty iPhone 5s from Apple store, everytime for a different defect. Here are the details: 1)I got my new iPhone5 in January. the home button got broken in just a week. So I went to apple store and they replaced it with a new one. 2)In April, the new phone's sleep button stopped functioning properly. Again I reserved an appointment and got a new one from Apple store.3) the day after I got the new phone I noticed that the phone's mic doesnt work while on speakerphone(my iOS is up-to-date) All I can say is that I am very disappointed. I am very relied on my phone because of the nature of my work and the iPhone has so far let me down many times. I had iPhone 4 before for almost two years and it functioned well until it had an unfortunate accident. I am pretty sure that this is not just being out of luck. This has something to do with the quality or design of the iPhone 5. How can I trust this phone until the end of my contract with my current provider while I wont have a warranty for the last two years?

Iphone 4s Yellow mark
Hi Guys, I have an Iphone 4s and a yellow mark appears on my screen whereas my warrantly is expire since February. I go to a Genius Bar and the refuse to take care of my problem. As I saw on Internet it's a latent defect (glue problem) but Apple refuse to recognize it. I live in France and the European Union rules said that warrantly should be ended 2 years after the purchase date for latent defect. I'm very disapointed, Iphone was pretty expensive and they refuse to recognize their problem. Do you know how can I force Apple to solved my problem ?Thanks for your help,Regards

I recently quit my job. When i worked there I was using an iPhone 5 but had to give it up when I left. I have an iPhone 4s and wanted to backup my first phone on to this one. 1) I backed up my iPhone 5 to itunes.2) I plugged in my iPhone 4s and couldnt do a restore because the firmware was out of date. It instructed me to do it as a new phone and then do a buckup. So I set it up as a new phone.3) Updated firmware on 4s4) Restored phone to my iPhone 5 backup. Now everything went well except Im missing some apps. So I have 2 questions: Q1) What apps come with the Iphone 4s, what I cant get out of the app store? Q2) How do I get them back? I am missing iTunes and Music already that I know of and I want to use the phone for music of course. Thanks, the help would be great
Major iPhone 5 issues Help
I've had my iPhone since release date. Everything has been working great up until about a week ago. The phone has an amazing battery life, I guess an update fixed that for me. But now my iPhone will reset itself out of no where 3-4 times a day at random times. The keyboard will get stuck on the screen after entering something and clicking done. Also the iPhone will freeze (I've tried leaving it for as long as a half an hour) and be totally unresponsive. I usually have to use the sleep/wake button in combination with the home button just to reset the phone so it works. It also randomly drops and won't connect to my home wifi at all, I also have a iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad mini, iPad 3, iPhone 3, 3GS, 4, 4S and all of these work flawless with zero problems on my wifi network. My warranty is out in September, but I'm worried about going to an apple genius and having them ask me to re create the problem. What if it doesn't happen at that time? What can I do?
Install backup won't work because operating system isn't up to date iPhone 4
I have two iPhones, one for myself and one for my wife. My wife's phone was having problems so Apple kindly provided me with a new phone. When I got it home and tried to install the backup, iTunes wouldn't let me. It said the operating system wasn't up to date and I would have to set it up as a new phone. I did this and now my wife's new phone seems to think it is my phone and I don't see any way of installing the backup of her previous phone. Any ideas?
Accurate data app iPhone 3G
I'm new to the iphone; I switched from android. I'm trying to find a data app similar to what I used on my old phone. It would show me the data amount, allow me to put in the data limit and start date. It would also show me the apps that were using the data. The app was Onavo count I think. I tried the iphone version and its not the same. It wants me to set up a VPN?-is that safe? I just want a good data app that is accurate and allows me put in my data limit and start date -bill cycle date. Is there an app free or paid; free hopefully that will do that? My Iphone 5 was stolen, but I have an old Iphone 4, which I've reactivated. I write music, and I use my Notes app to store my lyrics in, and I really need access to the Notes on the Iphone 5 that were stolen because I'm not done with few things. In other words, I want to erase everything from my Iphone 4, and replace it with stuff from my Iphone 5. I've backed up the Iphone 5 recently before it was stolen, so if everything were to be on the old one, it would be up to date.
iphone 5 64gb delay before unlock screen appears
hi.. im newb.. my missus & me just got 2 iphone 5 64gb, all up to date with ios and we both get the same problem. hopefully i can explain it properly. after u hit the button on the top when ur not using the phone and then come back later to use it, you press round button, sometimes nothing happens sometimes and it takes anywhere from 30 secs to a few minutes before it shows the slide to unlock screen. it doesnt happen all the time, but enough to be annoying. ive restarted a few times and this doesnt seem to have any effect. now my messages are doing the same thing - it hangs on a blank blue screen. my partner suggested it could be because its 64gb? either way, my phone is empty, like 50gb free. Any help would be appreciated. I use my phone for work & its annoying when u need to show someone a photo or something and right just then ur phone decides to go on vacation.....

Adding existing apps to passbook iPhone 3G
Hi there! I have apps installed on my iPhone that say they're passbook enabled, however, if I launch passbook the only pass there is my Starbucks card. I have the Discover Card app, the Apple Store app and Fandango and all are up to date. How do I add these Passbook enabled apps to Passbook? Thanks!
iPhone 4S won't charge in wall charger will charge from PC USB
Suddenly, about a week ago, shortly after I upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 my iPhone 4S will no longer charge from any AC chargers, but still charges from the USB port in my laptops and work desktop. I have 5 or 6 wall chargers both Apple and other brands it won’t charge from any of them. They work fine charging my wife’s iPhone 4S and my iPad 2 and iPad 4. I have seen others post about this problem but there are no fixes posted to date.

Im wondering if anyone can help me, My phone got stolen on sunday evening at around 12ish, after looking for it all night i resorted into comming home and searching for it via i cloud and find my iphone app, i entered my apple ID and my password but it only told me that my iphone is 'offline'. When i suggested this to my network provider when i called them to block my sim card so the phone wasnt being used, he told me this was because they must of took the sim card out? I was more upset about all of my pictures and videos being deleted because there was lots of my family and my life on my iphone, so i tried to retreive it by setting up my icloud account to see if i could get my pictures back. To my surprise, it said i had a photo stream on my iphone, however when i clicked on my photo stream it had said 'files empty'. I then went back onto my icloud account and clicked 'Manage Storage' all it came up with was a 'Back up' tab and when i clicked on the tab it said "laurens iphone 31/3/2013 3:38AM - 4,GB" That is all my iphone told me, it didnt tell me anything else. Weirdly, it didnt show me any of my pictures but the date its telling me is the date i lost my iphone and 3.38am indicates to me that the person whoever has it must of went home and tried to do something with my phone at 3:38am? Im not sure.. but i want to know if there is any way i can get my photos back or retreive my iphone. I also have my serial number if this helps? Help would be very appreciated right now.Thanks
Second Hand iPhone 4 Replacement
Hi Guys, I know this may have been asked before but, I was at work and my phone fell out of my pocket through no fault of my own. The front glass and back glass broke and my lock button is stuck now (it does not work). I know that my warranty is out of date so I will have to pay £119 to get it replaced - however I did buy the phone second hand, so will I not be able to get the replacement? Many thanks,OTMA
limit on amount of phone numbers allowed in Group MMS iPhone 5
I have tried searching online and could not find the answer to my issue, and have had no luck. I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1.3 software which says on my phone that it is up to date.I recently have been using Group MMS to send out the same text to multiple people at once. It's great and all, but it will only allow me to add a total of 10 phone numbers to one group. If I try to type in an 11th person, that phone number disappears when I begin to type the text message. I've been messing with it today and talked to another iPhone users and was told they have not had this problem with sending to more than ten phone numbers themselves. I was wondering if there is a setting in the phone I need to change, is there some limit to the phone numbers allowed in a single Group MMS, is it a problem with the phone itself, etc.? Thanks!

Cannot Restore Corrupt Backup after upgrading to 6.1.3 iPhone 4S
My wife needed to make space on her Iphone because of the many videos she had on it. When she plugged the phone into our iMac, running 10.8.3, and connected to iPhoto to transfer the videos over the upload started as it normally does. However, during the middle of the transfer iTunes interupted and INFORMED my wife that the phone was now upgrading to the newest software version (6.1.3)being as we usually keep our phones up to date with upgrades anyways we didnt think much of it. Unfortunately during this process the software update failed and the phone crashed. We were left with two options "restore from backup" or "restore iPhone." We tried several times to restore from the backup and we received the same error message every time "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup was corrupt or incompatable with the Iphone that is being restored." I went into my library and checked out my backups folder and I saw that there were two new backups there for my Wife's phone. One time stamped at the exact time the phone crashed and one from the last time I tried to restore(after the phone crashed). We finally decided that there must have been a glich with the softwarre download, since it didn't complete, so we decided to "Restore Iphone" hoping that a corrected software would then allow us to restore from the backup properly. So the phone was wiped and reset with the new software, and we still cannot access the backup that we need. Though it is extremely frustrating that the videos of our toddler are gone, it is very important that we somehow find a way to access the information in the non corrupt backup files, her address and phone books as well as past text messages and calendars. I went to a site called iphonerecoveryonline and followed their protocol and I was able to see that all of the aboved mentioned information is still in those backups, but I have no way, with out paying these people $20 per file, to return that info to her phone. I would rather not have to pay to recover this info, but I guess that may be my only option? Any advice, experience or reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

hi i got a replacment iphone 4s roughly the end of january 2012,the original warranty finished on the 13 march 2012,im wanting the extended warranty but does this mean that it finished on the 13 march,or do i have the 90 days from january,ive checked the self checker and it says expired,but a few forums say this could be wrong and doesnt honour the 90 days,is there anyway i can check the exact purchase date online thanks for the help
Suddenly can't sync songs from iTunes to iPhone other help topics suggestions not helping me
Everytime I try to sync any of my songs onto my iPhone 4, I get an error message that says: "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "(song name)", were not copied to the iPhone "iPhone Name" because they could not be found." and then it stops syncing. It says there are 13 problems. Then when you expand to see the files, each one says: "(song name)"" was not copied to the iPhone "iPhone Name" because it could not be found." It can be any song, an old song from 7 years ago that I got off Limewire, or a song from a CD, or it can be a song I paid for from the iTunes store. Doesn't matter. Couple weeks ago, I had no problems. Purchased new songs and had them in playlists on my phone. Then a couple days ago, I plugged my iPhone into the computer (to charge it), and suddenly my songs were removed off the iPhone. So I tried to put them back on, kept getting this error. So I googled it. I have spent the past 4 days TRYING to get things to work. I have looked through all the other similar questions, and tried suggestions on there. Nothing is working. - There is no exclamation point beside any of my music.- I have not changed the hard drives (I don't use my computer daily, probably once a week), (Windows is up to date also).- I have tried re-adding the songs to the library.- Everything still plays in iTunes.- If I click on the file in its location, it will open it and play it in iTunes. - I tried deauthorizing my account then reauthorizing it, didnt work.- I have even removed all my music off my phone to see if that works, now I have 15 songs on it. I did find it odd that when I looked in my purchased playlist, they were not there, but they are on the computer and on the purchased list (under the iTunes store on the side menu). At least I can use my iPod for when I'm in the car, but now I have to carry that around too, I'm getting quite frustrated. Normally I'm quite computer savvy, but I'm totally stuck on this one. And like most people, I rely on my iPhone WAY to much and let the little things affect my daily life. I hope SOMEONE can please help me?!? (I don't know if it may even have to do with the fact that yesterday I finally got my iPhone updated to the latest IOS, (cuz I was finally able to download the update from iTunes... Unless that was a separate update) the one where it's like "do you want to cancel, download only, download and install").

I need a calendar app that has a quick add for appointments and events, i need a way to pick a date in calendar view, then add a event or reminder or todo and even add a note with checkmarks or numbered such as 1,2,3, etc. And. One with geo location alerts for reminders about stuff as i am near the location of the area where i need to go. i have tried just about every notepad and reminder app out there some do offer the things I am looking for such as (checkmark ) or some from (Appigo) but like spring-pad or life topics they have so many options and really too many choices it takes ten steps to set a reminder on those. I keep getting the following error message "Problem connecting please check time/date on your device and your internet connection". I only get this error message when I try to play muliplayer on "Bike race". This is happening on my iphone 4S (ios 6.1.2) But, I have another iphone 4S and it works fine! The thing is it is really annoying me as I need it working on my personal phone as that is the phone I have unlocked lots of bikes! ICS files will not open on Iphone 5
ICS files (sent through email from someone using outlook) will not open on my iPhone 5. Software is all up to date. I'm almost postive this used to work perfectly. Is anyone else having this problem or know why this may have stopped working? Thanks.
Iphone 4 update not working .
I keep trying to update my Iphone 4 with new software as I am now advised that apps will fail without the updateVersion I have is IOS 4.3.2. Pressed check for upate and I keep getting the message that my Iphones software is up to date.I also get a box pop up which appears stating that Itunes could not contact the iphone software update server because I am not connected to the internet, but I am.Any help would be appreciated.Is there another way to update the phone?

How I add mp3s to iTunes for use in iMovie iPhone 3G
I have iCould on for backups etc and rarely use iTunes anymore (and cirtainly not since I got a 5), however I need to add some mp3s (that won't be on match) to my iPhone so that they are available in iMovie. However when I connect to iTunes, iThunes wants to restore my phone from a backup on that machine (I.e out of date) or set it up. How can I get these files over?

Gmail App for iPhone 3GS? Mom has an iPhone 3GS, and was having trouble with her Gmail on her phone. She went to the Apple Store, they deleted the Gmail App, and then re-downloaded the New Gmail App. Then got and Error Messgae; The Error Message was that she would need iOS 5, which is not available (I think) for the iPhone 3GS.
