Lately I've been having probelms with my iPhone 4s. I bought it in July of last year. The problems include: my lock button is jambed, the phone thinks that I have headphones in when I don't, and applications such as Camera and Safari constantly crash. The screen also does not always respond when I touch it and it does not ring or vibrate when I recieve calls sometimes (I did check to see if my ringer was on, along with vibrating in Sounds under Settings). I have Apple Care+. Can I trade it in for a refurbished phone? Also, for an extra fee would I be able to trade it in for a refurbished iPhone 5?

I was reading my Facebook page when the screen just went out all of a sudden. It still seems to respond to touch and Siri works but the screen is dark. What's up with that?
Hey guys, my iPhone 5 was bought in December at Bestbuy. I just made an appointment at the Genius Bar and I wanted to ask some questions about the one year warranty included with the phone. My phone had been working fine for the past six months and it's never been treated harshly ( I've always kept a good case on it and a screen protector ) however yesterday my lock button stopped working... whenever I click it the phone does not respond to it. The phone is basically new when taken out of the case and the only reasonable explanation for this, in my opinion is a defect of manufacture that recently showed up. I'm wondering what will apple do when I take my phone in? Will they replace it for another? Attempt to fix it? Will any charges be present? And what should I bring just incase they decide to replace it ( ex. headphones, charger?) Thank you.
Last night my iPhone 5 went black and won't respond to anything. I can still hear soundlike siri and when a text comes through but I can't see anything. I have tried to restart it by pressing the home button and power button but that hasn't worked and I've tried to restore it on iTunes but that hasn't done anything, can anyone help?
Right, my problem is that my iPhone is turned on BUT the screen is blank. How can I get this to turn off or reset and respond to my iTunes. I've tried the manual reset by pressing the the sleep/on/off button with the home button at the same time and I get nothing. I've even tried plugging it into my laptop to respond with iTunes but that doesn't work either. It will connect to a wall charger with the same wire as that I'm using to connect to the computer. I need as much help as needed.
Few months and my iPhone 5 lock key does not respond.My friends told me that apple ships damaged products to India, is that true?Also, would I get replacement? Hi everyone... I want to ask question, I just realise that I Can't do anything (swipe, text, ect) when my iphone placed on the flat surface. To be able to swipe or text i must literally hold the iphone with my hand. When the iphone was placed on the flat surface (table for example), The screen do not respond at all when I just do the swipe and text with my finger (I don't touch the iphone with my hand).But when I picked up the phone and hold it with my hand, the screen began to respond to my finger,, Anyone facing the same problem ?Do we have to hold the iphone with our hand in order to be able to swipe or text ? If anyone have the answer to this problem, please let me know, because it was so frustating now that I can't do anything when my phone was placed on the table.
Over the past five months, I have purchased over five different charger cables for my iphone 5 which i bought new in December. For some reason, after months, weeks or even days, he latest charger stops working. Sometimes the phone is plugged in and it doesn't respond at all to the cable, other times, the cable only functions when in a certain position. I am so angry at this as I'm spending and will continue to spend a lot of money to charge my phone. Am I doing something wrong? (This was never an issue with my iphone 3 and the cable even worked when the connector head seemed half broken off). What should I do? And also, is anyone else having this issue, because if not, then it must be an issue with my actual phone, no?Thanks
So once I got my iphone I didn't touch it till I got a case...Anyways, I had problems with my lock button as soon as I clicked it..It wasn't easy or smooth to press down it was always hard now I have to use my teeth to press it down to turn it on...Can I get it for free??I have insurance...Should I bring that up?Or should I try to get it for free since it wasnt my issue..Plus my cable is broken and my home button is slow to respond..I didn't do anything.I was just using it.That's all!
I bought a full price Unlocked iPhone 5 from Apple back in January to use on Straight Talk. I had some issues with data on Straight Talk not being reliable and I had to keep turning data off and on again to get a connection. Now that TMobile is supporting the iPhone at the same price as Straight Talk I figured i'd give them a try - after all that's what having an unlocked phone with no contrat is all about right? I'm a free agent. So i signed up however i don't get 3G anyhere, and my 4G coverage is spotty (talking HSPA+ 4G not LTE). This is because my $599 unlocked phone doesn't have AWS support. My question is why won't Apple release an update that will allow my identical hardware to work the way the one would if i bought it from TMobile? It's the same A1428 Model, the ony difference is the software. I really don't have to have to sell my older A1428 to buy a new A1428 from TMobile just to get it to work when it should have anyway. Can someone respond as to what Apple plans to do about this? Thanks,Andrew
Hello community. I do get the fact that there is million of threads, but I want to know the opinion of others on this particular case. I dropped my phone into the toilet (luckily, it was clear) and immediately got it out. As I had no experience with these kind of accidents, I actually didn't turn off the phone. I used a towel and then I wobbled my phone to get rid of the water. Then, as the phone started rebooting itself, I dried it with a hairdryer (yes, I'm an idiot) and used a vacuum cleaner to help the proccess. It kept saying this error [NAND] FileFlashAndMedia or something like that, so I turned it off for good and tried to restore it - I started getting the -1 error. After several repetitions, iTunes finally started restoring my iPhone 5 and everything was back to normal. But then I came to the dreadful realization that the screen does not respond. Everything is ok - all the buttons, the display, even the sound seeems to be fine. So after these 15 minutes of panicking I started to read articles and watch videos of other people. Put the phone in a bowl of rice, sealed it and I turn it on from times to times to find out if the screen started responding. Any suggestions? Do you think there is a possibility to recover it?

I had never faced any need for warranty repairs or any such thing previously. My luck with the Iphone 5 was not the same. Just 5 Months and my Sleep/Wake button just refuses to work. But the Horror was when i reached the Zain Telecom store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I was told by them that Apple has refused to take Any Iphone exibiting Scuffing or Scratches as this renders the iphone out of warranty. It just Dosnt make any Sense when Senior Apple SVP for Marketting Phill Schiller Him self on 25 Septeber 2012 in an email to an apple user have acknowledged that this kind of scuffing is natural to any aluminium product. I would like some one from Apple to respond to this issue of mine and give me a solution. The worst part is there no authorised service in the country. If this dosnt turns out well then my next phone shall not be an apple until apple has a bigger foothold in saudi arabia. Thanks & RegardsAsim
My touch screen has white lines on the right side and the screen doesn't respond on that side. I have an appt with the Genius bar tomorrow, but since I can't unlock my phone, I also can't back it up! Is there any other way to unlock the phone? Or back it up without unlocking it? Thanks.

So I've had the black iPhone 5 since October and only recently has the power button been a little off. I tried finding solutions for this online and the problem can be displayed in this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4uSROJwU_w Sometimes it works, but more than half the time clicking the power button on the right side will cause it to either not respond or cause it to blink (if locked) or lock then turn back on instantly (if trying to lock and screen is on). Left side seems to work fine but I'd just like to know what the cause is and if it's due to hardware issues covered by the one year warranty.

I'm experiencing the following symptoms:-my iPhone does not respond when I press the home button or the sleep/wake button-neither does it respond when I press the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time-at times my iPhone does turn on, but it freezes up and the screen starts to go white or green and purple lines start forming-it seems to work normally despite my difficulties with the screen I have tried:-going to the apple store. The gentleman there ran some tests and they showed nothing wrong.-restoring my iPhone through iTunes -pressing the home button and sleep/wake button at the same time-updating my phone to the latest version of iOS I would really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on my unfortunate iPhone problem. I'm at a loss of what to do especially since I went to the apple store and was told nothing was wrong with my phone. When I went there, I explained the problem and the gentleman pressed the home button and the sleep/wake button and it miraculously turned on! It was fine for the next three days, but it started acting up again. Thanks
I have tried several times in 7 hours to turn my phone off and on again to see if the screen will repond but it hasn't done yet. I have even left it switched off for 15 - 20mins. Has anyone got any suggestions that could rectify this problem. I have currently got it plugged in to the laptop via usb and it has 100% battery life.
How is it possible to redirect text messages from specific numbers to email or some other means of viewing them? When I view the phone log, there are no texts from my number on my soon to be ex-husbands phone. It shows an Internet data exchange, but no text message. Yet he receives texts from other people, and their numbers appear. How is he able to "hide" messages from me, and still view them and respond without my number showing up on the phone log? Does he have a second phone he's forwarding to, an email account, or some app? Like I said, its only my messages that are "hidden" because he's somehow able to keep his girlfriend from seeing them.
What should I do when the slide to unlock or power off does not respond to rebooting or restoring?
Whenever I try to buy those green gems; It won't let me and says that I needed to go to apple/support. I would also like to add, that I kept trying to use my debit card quite a bit. But, it didn't work, so I tried to use a different debit card and it did the same thing. Please respond back, I've been on this web site for days!
i have no idea why but after i updated to 6.1.3 over wifi last night everything was fine until i let the phone lose its charge and tried to charge it. it started charging fine at first but now it won't come on sometime. at one point it shut down after 30 seconds of working fine and then freezing... the screen turned white and froze one time before blacking out. it's on right now but only after again going black and respond-free for about 2 minutes. i made one phone call and went back to the music app then it went black again. ***
Cannot install Chrome browser on iPhone 3GS, iOS version 6.1.2. I installed Adobe Edge Inspect which requires Chrome. App Store shows Chrome 'Free' button but it is greyed out and does not respond. When iPhone is connected to iMac to sync apps, iTunes says Chrome is installed but there is no Chrome icon on my iPhone. Rebooted iPhone, uninstalled Adobe Edge Inspect and Google Chrome in iTunes, rebooted again, reinstalled Google Chrome - can see installation progress bar on iPhone, but as soon as Chrome finishes installing, its icon disappears from iPhone. Chrome is still listed in iTunes as installed but not visible on iPhone. App Store will not let me re-download Chrome - says it is already downloaded. Going around in circles here! In desperation, also tapped Reset Home Screen in iPhone Settings, which did indeed move my icons around but still no Chrome. Any ideas please?
Replace a cracked screen,now the digitiser/touchscreen doesn't respond. All the aother buttons work the sound is on screen, wifi etc.I tried the old cracked screen, which worked before I replaced it, now that doesn't work eitherwhat could be the problem?
Hello,My query pertains to compliance with a company policy that confidential data shouldn't be stored on company laptops. It can only be stored on encrypted memory sticks.My (not company) iphone 5 is being used to receive, read and respond to emails, but whereas using the laptop I need to login to the Intranet, within which emails are accessed, there is no such login screen, because I'm using iPhone Mail.The argument being posed is that by using my iphone to receive, read, respond to company emails, there are no safe guards concerning data protection, unlike accessing through a laptop.Has anyone experienced a similar issue, and is there any way that I can set up my iphone Mail to prevent this being a concern?Please advise, if possible.Kind regards,Richard

I downloaded a free app @ 30 days ago. It is now saying my 31 free trial is over!!!??? App never said it was a trial. I tried to submit a complaint however nothing "submit button" flashes but does not submit. I was going to only give it two stars. My review still does not show. As a matter of fact there are no negative reviews which I find interesting. The app is only 1.99, but I am concerned about this app possibly charging for setting else. I have 30 days of work on this app. If I would of known trial I would have possibly chose another app!!! What can I do now?! Developer will not respond.
I just dropped my phone off the counter onto my kitchen floor and when I picked it up it was turned off. I now can't get it to turn on, and it won't respond when I plug it in. Any ideas what to try or what could be wrong?

I know the apps store will not give me an old version,that is why i do not use my Mac or iMac to replace the application however this has also been updated on my Macs. I reiterated in my message yesterday that,it is not that what you asked me to do is not working or i did not follow your instructions into details. I did follow every steps you stated. The end result is that, WHEN IT REACHES DATA MIGRATION,THE SCREEN WILL BE BLACK OR LIGHT BLUE BLACK,WITH A WHITE SCROLLING LINE THREAD ON THE DEVICE SCREEN,MEANING MIGRATION IS ABOUT TO TAKE PLACE. THIS WILL MOVE FOR ABOUT 2 or 3SECONDS,AND IT WILL CRASH. I have tried this several time,i do not mind starting all over again,i just want it to work with iCloud. I'm sure nothing was wrong with their iCloud system per se, but did they focus on recovering your data (after you explained the problem to them in detail)?At the moment, the only hope we have is to restore one of your devices from an older iCloud backup. You probably want to do this in the next day or so, otherwise it might get lost. I changed the front screen of my iphone 4 by myself and now it wont respond to me touching the screen. the screen is moving by itself, like the slide to unlock bar is moving left and right without me touching it and the notifications at the top when the phone is locked move up and down by themsleves. the apps are also opening by themselves without me touching the screen when the phone is unlocked. the home, souend, and sleep/power buttons work fine. i have reset my iphone but the screen is still going bizzare by itself. i still have no control at all. please help, my dad is not buying me another phone, nor can i let this phone break. also, the warranty is void because i opened the phone.
We are waiting for someone to be responsive to our questions about 6.1.1 eating my battery. It appears to be related to exchange. My wife's phone works fine without exchange in the mix. So that being the case, why can we not get an Apple engineer to help us?
Hi All,I used to be an Apple Genius, so have tried most routes to check this but just wanted to know if anyone else has seen this, and that it could be a problem with this version of the OS? I updated the phone to 6.1 (no damage to phone, working perfectly before update), since then it takes 3 attempts to put phone to wake of put to sleep using sleep/wake button. I have since tried a full restore (6.1) with and without restoring from back-up and the problem is still there. Anyone else seeing this? Joe
Iphone 5 screen is repeatedly unresponsive at the edges. This has ruined my enjoyment of this device. I cannot play my games properly at all. The first iPhone 5 I obtained through contract I went straight to Apple store complained and had it replaced only to discover exactly the same problem manifest in the device. If you try to slide the screen with icons below the level of the last row of icons it doesnt respond. This has contributed to the Iphone share price demise. Together with MAPS its simply unnaceptable that a company with billions of Dollars in cash could not implement proper maps OR mis the production checking for the less respnsibve screen. People have come to reply on these devices it is poor shoddy work to implement this slackness in a product that led the world so wonderfully in previous versions, now look.. Samsung have caught up and are now the biggest phone maker in the world. That is not something Steve Jobs would have acepted.
Hi, ever since I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1, my power button doesn't respond 100% of the time.Around 6 to 10 times I'm getting an unresponsive lock button. If you lock the device, unlock it, and try to lock it again, it won't react. However, if you wait a few seconds, it does react. I tested it with 3 other iPhone 5 and it's the same, so I blame it to iOS 6.1. It does happen when I'm using apps, but how I described before is a clear way to reproduce it.Does it happen to you guys too?

Dear all, I mistakenly dropped my iPhone 4 in water. I was travelling at the moment so wasn't in the UK. Which is why I had to take it to a trusted local mobile store, known for doing a good job, who gave up in the end. I was told that the phone is dead, there is some trouble with the IC (integrated circuits, I guess) and the phone is gone for good. I brought it back to the UK, and took it to Apple, who refused to replace it. I didnt know that if my phone is out of warranty, and I didn't open the back, Apple would replace it for a fee (silly me). Now I don't know if that's a blanket condition or if it is only if the phone goes dead. However, it didn't help me. I tried taking the phone to another well known repairer in the UK, and was told the same thing as I was told earlier. I was recommended to replace the mother-board which could cost ~£240, and it doesn't really make sense to spend so much when I can buy a refurbished iPhone 4 for lesser (probably). If anyone knows how I could get my phone back up and running, takes the crown of a Genius in my mind. Kindly respond if you know a solution. I am also willing to sell it off, if anyone can find any use for it. Cheers,Sharad

in my phone some times i am getting signals.and some times i am getting as no service.when i restart my mobile then it was working fine for some time.i am facing this issue for 2 days.i contacted my service provider.he told that there is no issue in my area.so there is issue with my phone.please respond to this messaga as soon as possible.
My iPhone's lock button has some problems. when I press the lock button on the right side of it, it doesn't respond, but when I press the middle or the left side of it, it responds. Is something wrong or is every iphone like this? Is it worth taking it to Apple and let them have a look? Would apple fix this, or is it too much of a minor issue? Thanks
Only for 2 apps that may have been removed accidentaly (by my son) the install button in the app store is only partly visible, grey, and does not respond to clicking.Hard reset didn't help. Just before this happened i updated from ios5 to 6.Please advise how to get these apps back.
So I am on a snowboarding trip and as in whatever you do nowadays you are not the only one with an iPhone, however on this trip, every time we were out in the cold (20's) my iphone was the only one that would not respond to my touch (no gloves ofcourse) I tried other's phones as some said my hands were too cold and ofcourse they worked. I borrowed other's cases just in case that was the problem, and no luck! Ofocurse reset the phone like 10 times and no difference. The only thing that worked for a while was sticking a toe warmer to the back of the phone!! the real iPad!! ok not funny. I am obviously experiencing a hardware issue here, can anyone share if they have had this issue fixed out of warranty?? PS I have been able to replicate the problem just by putting the phone in front of the AC vent in MAX.. Thanks for your help!!
hi, i have a question... my iphone 5 got wet all night, when i noticed, it was 6am in the morning. the sink explode and all the floors in the house got wet, like a mini flood. the iphone 5 was in the floor upside down charging all night, it was ON.when i noticed it was wet, i shaked it, and then dried it with a towel, then i used the hair drier in low setting to remove any excess of water, the iphone 5 is new i bought it in nov-2-12, its only 2 months, the lock button got wet and the back camera, i think the water entered thru the front speaker[ the hole where u hear the other person] so i used a ziploc bag and fill it with a bunch of rice, like i said it was ON and i couldnt turn it off. theres a stain in the middle of the screen and close to the battery symbol in the top right of the screen. the touch didnt respond very well but now its off with the sim card out. yesterday it was searching, now it has signal.... i didnt have a warranty [apple care]i dont know if apple can replace my phone without that warranty if its only 2 months oldi dont know what to do, help
i just got my new iPhone 5 16gb last week. updated to new 6.0.2 updates i do not have installl any heavy application, only Facebook, yahoo and flickrs i notice my phone is always lag, not responding to touch, and the most annoying part is it always ****** me up when i use the OSK (on screen keyboard). when i try to use the OSK, for example when i want to click BACKSPACE, it will randomly push A, Q, T for many times. i cannot get my msg done. i try to do the soft reboot, restart but it only good for half day before it start doing the problem again. the most annoying part is when it did not respond to my touch. what is the problem with this? this explain my problem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgnkWjGvkYo
I sent out a text to over 300 people in my contacts list, all as a group text, but I turned the group text option off, so that everyone got the text individually and could respond individually. I selected all of the contacts using this application called Group! that has 5-star ratings, so it works well. (keep in mind I still sent it through the regular messaging app by Apple, the Group! app was just to check off all the contacts and group them into one group text). Some of my contacts in the group text got the text, but I have a bunch of contacts that were meant to get the text that STILL haven't got the text (I sent the text at 4:30 pm ET, and it is now 11:00 pm ET); meanwhile I know for a fact that they have service, regular text/picture messaging, and iMessage. Is this a delay? Why are they not all getting delivered? Please help! Thank you!
I struggle to put my iPhone 5 to sleep with the power button. It seems that I have to press it real hard to get it to respond. Any suggestions? Is there an app that I could use in lieu of the power button?
