Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help : My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... ' I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue. My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ? Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i? My sister simply wants it to work with her contracted sim .. with the benifits and features iphone offers. Please can someone help... model a1332

When my dad bought the phone he didn't ask questions he just gave it to me. Being a blackberry user he didn't know that there was a one year warranty and being my first iPhone I didn't know either - and rogers didn't tell us. I found out recently that after getting my phone fixed elsewhere twice due to a broken screen that I actually have the warranty. And the recent screen I got fixed is faulty, will Apple still fix it if I sent it to them even if some else fixed it.

Car bluetooth failed after recent OS 6.2 update iPhone 5
My car bluetooth (car is a BMW X5) has suddenly stopped working, immediately after my iPhone 5 updated its OS to 6.1. It all worked perfectly before the OS upgrade. Have re-paired it, re-set everything - no good. Any suggestions? What happens is - the phone pairs with the car stereo, the car stereo answers the phone - but there's no sound. Can't hear anything - on the car stereo, on the phone, nothing. And before anyone asks - yes, I am using it correctly, and the car is selected in the phone settings and when the call comes through. I used it successfully for months - until the latest OS upgrade... And then it stops. 6.0 was fine. Why would 6.1 fail? Why would the 6.1 upgrade cause this to happen? What have Apple changed in their bluetooth functionality for OS 6.1, that would make something that worked perfectly suddenly stop working after the 6.1 upgrade?? Why make these changes suddenly? Anyway, am very very annoyed. I need to answer my phone in the car, for goodness sake! Are you trying to make me get a blackberry or an Android device, Apple?

I have recently purchased a new Lexus GS250 car which requires a phone that will connect to the internet using (DUN) dial up networking.Im lead to beleive that the Iphone has never had this technology as it is quite old. Im also lead to beleive that a blackberry will connect tothis technology. My phone is an Iphone 5 can apple adjust the software to enable this function or not.

I have red x through an empty battery icon near top right of my screen. iPhone 4
When ever I search for a solution all the results that come up are for blackberry and I'm not sure if it means teh same thing on iOS. The icon looks like an upright battery that has been drained and there is a small red x in the lower left of the icon. I've reset my phone, respringed the springboard, and plugged and unplugged it multiple times. The phone says its charging and nothing seems wrong so far, but the icon wont go away.

Extremely weak wifi on my iPhone 5
I bought my iphone 5 online through Singapore apple store.As soon as i openned the sealed package, 2 faults were found.1. There is an obvious dent on the right hand top corner of the phone.2. The wifi did not work. I tried to bring my iphone to different places and searched for available wifi and it just could notfind anything, tried to search with my blackberry, ipad and other devices and it was found. I reset the phone to its factory setting through itunes, but did not solve the problem.I updated to ios 6.02 which says will fix the wifi issue, still did not solve the problem. I discovered that if i bring the device very close to its source (a router) it will find a signal butonly receives an extremely low signal & even if it's connected, it will last only about 30 seconds andit died again. Do you think i can replace it with a brand new one? The thing is i live in other countryand the warranty is not international. Thanks
iPhone 5 call failed India
Proper Factory unlocked iPhone 5 bought in India from authorised reseller. Used it for a week after cutting a regular sim that was used in blackberry. After a week network lost. Got new sim from airtel, now im receiving calls, seeing 3G signal, using data but can't make calls, ie call failed. Airtel says to change the phone! I thing there is some sort of barring of outgoing calls. Usually all facilities are open, they confirmed that too. Im sending this post from my phone! Any one else facing anything similar? Or any suggestions? I'll anyway have to convince the sellers to replace my phone and get another sim from airtel. But I got to wait till Monday!!!!

Hello:I have received an iPhone 4 for Christmas. However, my blackberry bold is still in contract for another year and a half. To use the sim in the iPhone,I'm aware that I will have to cut the sim to size. ( which is not a problem.)However, from what I have read, it will work but I will have to ring my carriers customer services to tell them I am switching. Will they allow this and if it does work, will I get charged ridiculous amounts for Internet usage?Thanks

Is there ever going to be an option to block specific callers(including texts) directly from the contacts or an app like on Android phones? iPhone is supposed to be the smartest phone there is. I do love mine but this is a huge frustration. I always had this as an option when I had my Android phones & my blackberry. No, I should not have to call my carrier & YouMail does not TRULY BLOCK anybody.

I finally made the switch from blackberry to iPhone a few weeks ago and I am so disappointed that my speakerphone is broken and that this appears to be fairly widespread with no fix coming from Apple. Does anyone know if help is on the way or should I be considering a return to blackberry?
My earpiece bluetooth can not connect to iPhone 5
Just got the i5, had the i4s. My earpiece (bluetooth) can not connect. Does okay with i4s and my blackberry. The iPhone5 sits searching the whole time. I've turned all other devices off and nothing works. Used iOS 6.0 (same as iPhone 4s) and it did not work. I updated to iOS 6.0.1 and Is there an update for the iPhone 5 to fix this? Ironically, it finds my blackberry with no problem but it's not supported. Haha. This is a major issue for me because I talk on the phone all day and many times I'm driving. Just spent a lot of money on a useless phone.

Hi all, I have an iPhone 5 which worked perfectly with ios6.0 and I had none of all of the reported issues with that version. I now have updated to ios 6.0.1 and am facing major issues making calls. My cellular network shows 4 bars but none of my calls hook the network and I cannot make calls, unless I switch off/on the airplane mode. But it would only work back for few minutes. . My phone is not even ringing when people call me. It goes directly to voicemail. Anybody experiencing this problem? Is it a hardware issue? I must say, at the same location, my blackberry works perfectly.
Extreme electromagnetic radiation using T-Mobile iPhone 4
I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4S running iOS6 using T-mobile in AZ. I purchased a Cornet ElectroSmog Meter from eBay to measure high frequency electromagnetic wave field strength. It has 2 displays - a numeric display and green/yellow/red display similar to what you might find on a graphic equalizer. When applied to my T-mobile iPhone making a call, the readings were OFF THE CHARTS. The led scale on the meter only goes up to 180mW/m^2 as the super redline, but the numeric readout can say up to 1.8W/m^2 (10x what the meter thinks is dangerous)! If I swap an ATT SIM card for the T-Mobile one in the exact same phone, the display reads high-green/low yellow, or around 0.5mW/m^2. Other T-mobile phones with T-mobile SIM cards read from low green (Samsung Galaxy 3) to low yellow (blackberry). Other ATT phones, including other iPhones, read in the high-green/low yellow. An iPhone running on the Verizon network was low green (nice!). iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS running T-mobile SIM cards are just as extreme red-lined as my iPhone 4S. Why are T-mobile iPhones emitting so much dangerous electromagnetic power? Think of all that radiation next to your head! Right now I keep all my calls under a minute else I stick the phone arms length away and put it on speaker.

My IPhone 4S will receive calendar invitations from Google, blackberry and others, but when I create an event on my IPhone and select people to invite the IPhone will not send any invitiation to anyone. It will place the event on the phones calendar. I have verified the e-mail addresses and have tried to send an invite to myself with no success. Any help would be appreciated. thank you
Wifi browser connection problem with IOS 6 iPhone 4
With IOS 6 and iPad 3 or Iphone 4, I can't connect to my enterprise wifi anymore. I connect to the network without any problem. But afterward, within Safari where I'm have to put login and password (trapeze networks btw), it blocks on "submitted" and don't proceed further. While with IOS 5.1.1 it worked perfectly and with my blackberry, I don't have any problem today. I suppose a IOS 6 bug... I tried to put the proxy http on auto.I tried to reboot the idevices. Both without any improvement. Any idea?

I appologize if this question has been asked before. I pre-ordered iPhone 5 and I will give my iPhone 4S to my dad. He currently has a blackberry Torch on AT&T GoPhone. I'm afraid of cutting down the sim card and then not have it work correctly. But I have an iPhone 4S micro-sim around that Apple gave me when I got my replacment iPhone and its unactivated. Can I activate that sim card and have it work? Does the iPhone 4S have to be unlocked too? He will not use the internet, only phone calls and texting. His Torch is unreliable in a lot of ways. Hi. I broke the screen on my iphone 4 a few weeks back rendering the touch screen useless. I've been using an old blackberry while I await my iphone 5. My question is, will all my contacts and apps sync with the iphone 5 automatically when I connect it to itunes for the first time? I regularly backed up my iphone 4 to icloud so i am hoping that my contacts and all other info is not lost. I can no longer unlock my iphone 4 to view my contacts because as I stated earlier, the touch screen is no longer responding. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When using twitter app, facebook app, Whatsapp and beejive im, i've noticed inconsistent and slow push notifications on my iphone 4 when the apps are not active or the phone is on sleep mode, almost 5 or 10 minutes or they never arrive, and I don't know is this issue is common, because in my blackberry the msn, twitter and facebook notifications arrive almost instantly, ¿is there a way to speed up those notifications? ¿is that a problem of the iOs design, or the app design? I'm using an iphone 4 with iOs 4.3.3 (8J2), and this problem is really annoying
How I get an email file attachment extension off of my phone iPhone 3G
All I want to do is get an email file attachment off of my phone and on to my computer so I can use it. I don't want to open it on my phone, it could be an AutoCAD file, a programming langauge file, etc. I want the option to save the attachment to local memory on my phone and then transfer it to my PC via USB. This worked all the time with my blackberry, but it seems impossible or extremely difficult with the Apple IOS. The available phone memory would look like a USB stick drive to my PC. I am at job sites all the time where I do not have internet access from my PC, but I am within the cell network area of coverage so this would be an option. I spent almost an hour with Apple Tech support today and they must have thought that I was on drugs asking for such a simple thing. Apparently, the available phone memory is protected by the IOS so that the PC can't see it or use it. They said this feature would be all App based. The key then is finding an App that would allow the email client on the phone to give the user the option to open or save the file to a location that my PC can see. Does anyone know of such an App? If I can't find a workable solution I may have to go to an Android device. Thanks.
Why Apple not allowing call blocking iPhone
Sorry but I suspect this has nothing to do with Apple "allowing" anything. It's simply a feature that for whatever reason hasn't been implemented, if it ever will be, just as there are TONS of iPhone features my company blackberry doesn't have. As for why a third-party app can't do it that makes sense to me in that it's core to the phone's function and would mean Apple would have to allow some sort of "patching" which brings about other possible issues. Since the feature is not there we're just offering suggestions!

My factory-unlocked iPhone 4, bought straight from the Apple Online Store, was delivered to me on today. I tried downloading WhatsApp from the App Store but the app couldn't be found there. I tried going through the WhatsApp site in the hope that the site would direct the download through the App Store but that didn't work either. So I then tried to sync the programme file, which was working on another iPhone, to my iPhone through iTunes but that won't work either. The transfer goes through to the phone but I keep getting an error saying "WhatsApp failed to install." Am I to conclude that WhatsApp is no longer available for the iPhone for new downloads? The WhatsApp website still has the iPhone listed as one of their supported devices but the installation just won't work. Has their policy changed? If so, is there any other free multi-platform instant messenger that I can use for contacts who are blackberry and Android users? I haven't any issues downloading any other apps at all and the phone works beautifully. Please someone help me with this one! Thank you.

iphone 4s wont shut off
Ive read a few of the same thing but no answers. I shut the phone off and it just reboots. I just upgraded to the latest firmware a couple days ago 5.1.1 and then did a full restore to try and solve a battery life issue which also still exists. I wonder if the battery life is tied to this issue somehow. Ive done a full reboot a couple times. Any ideas? If I had my blackberry I could pull the battery out:)
Turn off notifications while talking Very disruptive iPhone
I set my phone to vibrate for all notifications. However, when I am talking on the phone, and get an email; calendar request; text; etc .... the phone jarringly buzzes in my ear. It's extremely disruptive because it's completely unexpected. In my line of work, losing focus on a business call because the phone vibrates deep into your ear can be disatrous. Is there a simple setting that allows notifications to be turned OFF while you're talking on the phone? Not to be a sore sport - but this was an easy setting on my stone-age blackberry. Thanks

I am rather concern to the construction and use of my IPhone purchased recently from UK that I could not use in overseas. The apps purchased could not be opened our up dated. The subscription is automatically withdrawn for the last three months without out been able to cancel our talk to somebody to stop it. My NatWest bank could not stop the transaction and advice to contact iTunes. Finally I manage to get into my account and removed my debit card number in an attempt to stop e-Tarab withdrawing for service not communicated our used. Using my iPhone has caused me further losses in respect of communication WhatsApp used to enjoy having on my blackberry device for free. iPhone has charged me for it and denied me the three digit authorisation code to be able to use it. Hi there, I know some people have had this problem. I just bought a brand new iphone from US' apple store to use in Canada with Rogers. I cut my own sim card and inserted into the sim tray of the iphone 4S. Unfortunately, it's reading the "insert a valid sim with no pin lock to activate iphone." My 4S is unlocked and it says so on the receipt as well. I've tried rebooting it and everything but it still reads that same message. I was wondering if it's something wrong with my iphone? should I go exchange it? I know the SIM isn't damaged because it still works on my blackberry despite the size. Thanks
Why am I getting No Service no network connectivity with iPhone 4S in Brazil
I recently purchased an iPhone 4S at the Apple Store prior to leaving for a trip to Brazil. Assuming it is a "World Phone," with GSM capabilities (at&t is the service provider), I thought it would function exactly like my blackberry Bold (also a GSM-enabled World Phone on at&t). I have been in both Sao Paulo for a few days, as well as drove to Florianopolis for the remainder of my trip and the iPhone 4S has had the "No Service," indicator on the whole trip: i.e. it cannot connect to an in-country provider (like Claro or Vivo). My other phone is connecting with no issues for both voice and data. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks for any guidance in advance!

My friend gave me his iphone 4s because he broke it and didnt want it anymore and he switched to blackberry. The phone still works, all the buttons work, it vibrates, the screen lights up ect.. So im assuming it works overall but i cant tell because the screen is cracked pretty bad and the whole thing went black.. What im wondering though is can apple do anything for me if i bring it to the apple store? Could they replace the phone or fix the screen? Why im wondering this is because i never payed anything for the phone and the phone wasnt mine to begin with, my friend also told me the phone was with telus but it was unlocked which is good i guess because im with rogers. The sim card tray is missing but other than all that it still seems functional. So im just wondering if theres anything they could do for me.
Extremely Poor WiFi Range iPhone 4
Hi, I'm new so sorry if this has been an issue before. But I have a new iPhone 4 with OS4.1, and it gets very poor wifi range. My friend also has an iPhone 4 and right next to each other, her phone will pick up networks that mine won't. My phone picks up my home wifi which is located in my parents bedroom, but if I am in the living room i get NO wifi signal at all. Even tho my laptop has full signal, and my aunt's iphone has full signal with our home wifi sitting even farther from the router than I am. I don't understand what is wrong with my phone. My phone also doesn't show a pop up whenever i am in range of a wifi hotspot. (Which is pretty much never unless i'm within 15 feet of the router!) And the router is a "N" router (my phone won't pick up "B" or "G"). My brothers blackberry picks up the wifi from across the house! What could be wrong?
iPhone 4G iOS 5.1 iTunes Has Multiple Backups i Hope. How i Access Them
Yesterday, my iPhone 4G, iOS 5.1, spontaneously went into restore mode, and Sprint Tech Support told me the only thing I could do was restore. The iTunes installation I used to restore was two months old, so I lost many of my apps, photos, contacts, and calls. Trying to recover them, I opened iTunes on another notebook I had last used about two weeks before. The first thing iTunes told me to do is synch my iPhone with iTunes. Did that, and now it iTurns out that the only backup that appears to be available is the one I just created. Not exactly what I need. Three questions:1. Does iTunes not keep multiple backups, like blackberry does? 2. If it does not, what the @#$%^&* were they thinking? 3. If it does, how do I access the last backup before the Crash of Quatro de Mayo?
Unable to reply to text msg from daughters BB Torch. iPhone
We've been able to do this all along but just a few days ago something happened.When my daughter sends me a text from her blackberry Torch I cannot simply reply to it. I can type a response but it will not send. I can however go into my contacts and hit send msg to her that way but it is frustrating, time consuming and annoying.Any thoughts or ideas anyone??

Can home screen display num of emails from each account iPhone 3G
I am using a blackberry, and very simply can show on the homescreen each separate email account, with a red star when at least one email arrives in the mailbox. It also shows at the top how many emails are new, overall. I'm not so concerned about "at a glance" seeing how many, but it's a god-send seeing (without pressing anything) where the emails have gone: workprivatehotmail. I know on the iPhone you go into Mail, and there you see your list of accounts, or 'All Emails', but that means I have to click Mail to do that. Is there a way (if like me you are email-busy) to see from the homescreen, a square icon for each account, and it show some form of identification that it has new mail it in?
