iPhone 4 can't connect to my NetGear WNDR3700 router.

I have that router and it's working great with my iPhone 4.The security I use on both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz is "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]" mainly for compatibility with older devices.You may also want to try and set the 2.4ghz wireless speed to "Up to 130Mbps" instead of "Up to 300Mbps" via the router settings > Wireless Settings on the top left, because I found some devices have connectivity problems or do connect and then run incredibly slowly on the "Up to 300Mbps" for some reason.

aux connection to car no longer working wiPhone

I've been using my iPhone 4 connected to my 2010 Honda CRV via aux cable for a full year no pbs.  Yesterday, in the middle of a song, it just suddenly stopped.  The on/off click comes through, but no other audio (no iTunes, audio books, etc).  I thought it might have just been a bum cable, so I tried a new cable.  Nope.  So then thought it was my phone - but audio works fine w/headphones (and its own speakers).  Then I tried connecting the phone to my husband's 1997 toyota FJ - and had the exact same problem.  So - two different cars (on which the aux connection has always worked with my iPhone 4), three different aux cables.  The weird thing is that the on/off click comes through on both car speakers when it's connected, just no other audio.  Oh, and I connected the phone to my CRV USB (which for some reason I'd never done before...) and it works just fine.  Even better sound quality than before.  But since my Husband and I often switch cars, and his doesn't have a USB port...would love to figure out what's going on so I can listen to my iPhone in his car.  Any suggestions on trouble shooting? 

Windows 7 Laptop and Iphone 4S

I have a laptop with Windows 7 with current version of ITunes 11.0.2.26 and have the IPhone 4S with the current iOS 6.1.3  Itunes is seeing my IPhone, but the laptop is not seeing it properly.  Once the IPhone is connected it will charge and connect to ITunes, but Windows doesn't show the device as having the proper driver.  In "Hardware" setting of the laptop, the IPhone doesn't show up so I can not make the IPhone to show up in My Computer as a hard drive device.  My reason to get this to work is to remove the videos from my phone.  I have tried to use ICloud to transfer to other devices and download, but it won't accept videos just my computers.  I need assistance to get the IPhone to show up as a hard drive, but as previously mentioned the problem lays with the laptop not having the proper driver.  I have done the following corrective measures: Uninstall and reinstalled ITunesI have held the powere and home button on the IPhone while being connected to the laptop.I have looked into registry correction, but the incorrect text is not in the registry.   Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to lose these videos because non compatibility issues. If this is going to be on going occurrence I will have to give up using Apple products. Thank you.

bluetooth fix coming soon after 6.1.3 Apple are problems with latest upgrades causing bluetooth issues iPhone 4S

Since iOS 6.1.2 my bluetooth in my 2012 toyota Tacoma will not connect to the phone side of my iphone 4s. It worked fine before the 6.1.2 upgrade and 6.1.3 did not fix the problem. I've tried all the so-called fixes that you have seen floating around the forums to no avail. Restore, Rinse, Repeat....It does streaming music just fine and any app ie. direction giving GPS comes over loud and clear. NO PHONE THOUGH. When the phone is connected to a call in my truck, I do not have an AirPlay option symbol available on the Phone Screen. I know there are others that have this issue. I see them all over the net and forums. Apple Please fix this issue. I'm not ready to chunk out $600 for a premature upgrade because you might think it's a hardware failure.

Replacement iPhone 5 screen pixelated grainy

Has anyone else noticed on their replacement or recently new (Dec. 2012+) iPhone has a different screen than before? I noticed that I can now see a vertical "dot" pattern, especially through blue and green icons and pictures. I also see it clearly in the settings app across the grey/blue "settings" bar, in the mail app's top and bottom grey/blue bars, and in the deep blue of an "on" toggle. This occurs with stock iOS apps and is not related to apps that have not updated for retina compatibility. I made a genius appointment to discuss my replacement iPhone 5 display at a local Apple Store where my display was clearly different than all of the models on display. The specialists in the store were able to see the difference as well and were very helpful. They did everything possible trying to help me, including opening two replacement models but both displays had the same issue. I'm hoping this is a temporary issue and Apple corrects it quickly once it has been officially identified, but if not, we need to let Apple know this is not acceptable. I loved my Retina display and just can't look at it the same way. The whole point of the Retina display is to minimize seeing individual pixels but with this recent screen showing vertical dot patterns in solid colors, it defeats the purpose.

Buying iphone from Apple store for use with various carriers

If I buy an iphone 4 from Apple store (not subsidized), can I use it with Virgin Mobile's no contract plan?  Or do I need to buy it from Virgin Mobile? And If, after a month or two, I decide not to use Virgin Mobile, can I switch to another carrier using the same phone? or do I need to unlock it or whatever? I guess what I am really getting down to is this:  I want to choose Virgin as carrier because there is no 2-year contract locked in, i.e. flexibility to switch, and I am willing to pay full price for the phone.  But if, for some reason I don't like Virgin's service, or they to raise their monthly fee so that it is no longer competitive to ATT, VZ, etc., I want to be able to switch to another carrier with the same phone, and not have to sell it on the 2nd hand market. I know I can just purchase the iphone 4 that Virgin offers for 350.  But if it only works with Virgin and no other carrier, then what is the point of not having tied into a contract?  The phone is useless unless I use it with that carrier. I have not asked Virgin this question yet, because what I really want to know is, if an iphone purchased in an Apple store can be used "universally" across all carriers.  I kind of understand there is a different standard that ATT use as opposed to all other carriers, but I am hoping to find the definitive answer about iphone compatibility for all carriers that offer the iphone.

Lightning Adapter iPhone 5

Can some one answer why do I have to buy the lightning adapter? Isnt it Apple's duty to sell it alongwith iphone 5 as an accessory for backward compatibility? Morover the adapter is priced ludiciously high. This is crazy and captilaism by Apple. Thanks,Sunil

Problems when updated to iOS 6 iPhone 3G

Since I updated my iPhone 4S and iPad to iOS 6 I have encountered several problems:1. I can receive and read emails but I can't send one using yahoo, gmail and hotmail. Tried the apple support solutions such as restarting the gadgets, changing wifi to 3G connection, deleting email accounts and adding them again but it did not work.2. I can't open my yahoo messenger now though initially I can use it after the upgrade. 3. I have configured the iMessage in my iPhone to receive messages from all servers (yahoo, gmail & hotmail) and set my cellular network number as the default. In my iPad, same settings except the default is yahoo since I can only access wifi and no cellular network. But every time an imesaage is received, it goes both to my iPhone and iPad??? 4. I cannot connect to iTunes store!! I updated my desktop iTunes but still I can't connect to iTunes in my iPad and iPhone. 5. Volume for both ipad and iphone are now low despite setting it to maximum levels. I can't hear the notifications most of the time.6. When I used FaceTime to talk to a friend who decided not to upgrade her iOS yet, we are having the same problems with the volume and mike. Either it is too low or you can't hear anything at all. Internet connection is working fine since the video is working perfectly.7. The battery of my iPad is now draining TOO FAST!!! I did not notice the same thing with my iPhone. I charged my iPad to 100% when I left home at 1 pm and 13 hours later my battery is only 34%!!! I used the ipad approximately 3 hours only TRYING TO SEND THOSE EMAILS, TROUBLESHOOTING THE VOLUME OF THE SPEAKER AND NOTIFICATIONS, OPENING YM AND BROWSING THE NET FOR SOLUTIONS!!!8. Merged contacts are now separated!!9. Invites were automatically sent to some of my contacts from viber, heywire and tango when I access them for the first time. 10. Youtube app is gone!?? I haven't used all the applications yet but I have this feeling that I have yet to encounter MORE problems once I do! To Apple: why update your software without considering compatibility issues to other programs and affecting even the volume??? Since most of our installed applications are malfunctioning, what is the use of all these gadgets now??? You have caused me and thousand of others a lot of  inconvenience especially in accessing and sending important emails to our contacts/work. I have shifted from android to apple for less than a year and I had to go to apple store 2 or 3x to have my ipad checked due to a lot of problems after using it for just 1 month until finally they replaced my unit with a new one only when I video recorded the problems since their engineers always claim that they did not encounter those problems during check up!!?? The replacement was even delayed due to shipping problems. Now, 2 days after upgrading to iOS 6 both my iPad and iPhone are malfunctioning!!! I hope you can find solutions to these problems you technically created SOON.

I have a new iPhone 4 32GB and I am NOT running any accessories. Nothing at all, I just took the phone out of the box and turned it on. I haven't even really used the phone yet! How can I go back to previous version of software as iOS 5 has stopped car bluetooth working. iPhone 4

I have an i-phone 3GS and a 56 Plate Ford Fiesta with factory fitted bluetooth audio.  This is a Nokia bluetooth but has allowed me to call hands free with this phone and previous i-phones and other brands with no problem.  I upgraded to iOS5 and I can now not make calls through it.  If I press call, the radio says 'dialling' but the ringing tone and when someone answers just goes straight back to the handset and not through hands free which makes it redundant in the UK.  I rang Apple and asked how to go back to a previous version of software that does work but was told Apple staff were not allowed to tell me how to do this.  His only other suggestion was that I buy a new car which wasn't massively helpful or practical.  I have seen quite a few messages on the internet of people having this sort of problem after they upgraded.  Does anyone know how to go back a previous version or how to get bluetooth back working with my car as I quite like the iOS 5 update it's just no good if I can't use it in car.? I've tried deleting and re-pairing but that hasn't worked.  Does anyone also know whether Apple have picked up on this bluetooth compatibility problem and whether they are planning on doing anything to fix it as it does seem to have affected a lot of people and if it can't be resolved I'll just have to stop using i-phones and go to another manufacturer as it's not helpful living in a country where you to have hands free and then not being able to do that because a software update prevents it.  Any help would be greatly received.

verizon 4s better than apple's unlocked 4s

I'm thinking of buying an unlocked 4s from apple store. But I heard verizon's iphone 4s is also GSM unlocked.Does this mean a verzion's iphone 4s, in addition to being compatible with verizon wireless, can also be used on at&t, tmobile, and other countries using GSM? Since they both sell the phone for $650 (no contract price), the verizon version of the 4s seems like a slightly better deal. I'm mainly going to use the phone with either AT&T or tmobile, and ocassionally when I travel to other countries. The verizon compatibility may be useful for trying out their prepaid plans or use as an emergency backup, and would be an edge when I sell the phone.

I was using my toyota Venza handsfree phone via bluetooth.  When the call ended I hung up with the hangs free button in the Venza.  My iPhone froze like I was shutting it off and I cannot use my phone.  What can I do to get my phone to work.  Nothing happened when I tried to sync it with iTunes.

iPhone 4 and Bose Portable SoundDock compatibility

I tried to use my iPhone 4 on my Bose SoundDock (Portable V2). I receive an error that the phone MAY not be compatible with the speaker, but I am able to dismiss the error. Then the iPhone will not play. Is there anything I can do? I heard I could remove the SoundDock insert. I also read online (on another website) that there is a danger of the SoundDock sending too much voltage to the iPhone, resulting in damage, and that I should purchase some kind of USB adapter. Or is the phone simply not compatible with the SoundDock Portable (I have the 2009 version which is supposedly compatible with the iPhone 3)?Thanks!

IPhone 4 OS4.1 and 2008 toyota Prius Bluetooth Connection

I have a 2008 Prius with the factory Bluetooth, sometimes My iphone fails to automatically connect. When this occurs, if you try to switch off the bluetooth in the general settings, it fails to turn off. It then turns back on and connects. I believe that the OS just restarts the bluetooth server after the crash and when it is in this clean state everything works correctly. iPhone 4 USB allowable voltage range for charging

I am the very happy and satisfied owner on an iPhone 4, but am seeking mobile backup power for on the go use (and to limit unnecessary charging cycles in preparation for being away from an outlet). To that end I just purchased a Griffin TuneJuice charger for use with my ample collection of AA NiMH batteries. The TuneJuice expressly claims compatibility with NiMH and NiCd batteries as well as Alkaline and Lithium ones. Regrettably, even with fully charged brand new NiMH AAs the TuneJuice showed me no love with rechargeable batteries on my iPhone 4 and is being returned to from whence it came tomorrow. (It appeared to work fine with the included Alkaline batteries, but I have no interest in using it in that capacity.) That said, Id like a solution that does work well with rechargeables.Unless someone has any great alternative product suggestions, I expect I may be building a homebrew alternative. My initial diagnosis is as follows:+ NiMH batteries are rated to deliver about 20% less voltage than their alkaline brothers.+ the TuneJuices 3 AAs in series was already under-volting the USB interface with the 4.5 volts 3 AA alkelines supply+ even an overcharged NiMH battery delivers about 7% less than what a half-used up alkaline is rated at (a fully charged NiMH will typically deliver just under 1.4v when newly charged, but will quickly fall to between 1.3 and 1.2 volts.)+ as charging with alkaline batteries did seem to work, I expect the voltage difference was the culprit. So my main question is: 1. What are the allowable voltage ranges for charging an iPhone 4 (or iPods/iPhones in general) over USB. What are the minimum and maximum current an iPod/iPhone can draw while charging?I realize that USB is specd to 5 volts, and as particular as I am about taking good care of it, Id like to give it 5v 100% of the time, but the truth is that batteries do fade before they are mostly dead, and I imagine that interrupting a partial charge would do more harm to the iPhones battery then let it finish charging at 4.9volts.As NiMH batteries are rated at 1.2volts, but often deliver as much as 1.4 initially; I think 5 AAs in series (delivering, in the theoretically maximum case of alkelines, 8 volts; and more typically 5-5.5 volts with a less than full charge) can be voltage-regulated down to a steady 5 volts. If I had 2 sets of 5 AAs in parallel, I could remove one set to charge while still using the other without impacting to target voltage. (sets of 4 AAs would be much more convenient, but would mean that my delivered voltage could drop as low as 4.6 volts as the batteries begin to die. Is this within allowable parameters? Am I really just going overboard on this? Please provide any suggestions. Id honestly rather buy than build.)So having done a small amount of cursory research on homebrew USB to charge iPods and iPhones I have 2 related follow-on questions: 2. At one time, low-current reference voltages of 2.5v and 1.8v were required on the data pins to initiate charging. Are these reference voltages still required? Is there any official documentation specifying those? 3. I have been more than happy with the service Ive received as part of my AppleCare warranty and wish to do nothing to invalidate it. Assuming that I am careful to check my work to ensure that Im generating the voltages I should be, would anything Ive described above invalidate my AppleCare warranty? How would it be different than charging an iPod/iPhone on any 3rd party vendors USB port. (I concead that as a hobbist and solo artist Im more likely to make mistakes than a company using 6 sigma processes to produce a run of several million units, but thats not what Im asking.)
