Hey is there a way to edit the navigation to add buildings and clean up the landscape? I'd like to contribute to my community's section of the maps and add buildings that apple has none, fix the forests where there's not, etc.
My iphone 5 has a rattling noise in the back near the camera.. I realize that many people have this problem but mine is pretty bad... All I need to do is tilt the iphone a little and I can hear it... Is it something I should bring it in for?
I have an iPhone 5 and the Numbers app on my iMac, iPad, and iPhone 5. I can view my spreadsheet in landscape on my iPad but not my iPhone. How can I get my iPhone to show the spreadsheet in a landscape orientation.

Can the iPhone 5 take panorama shots in landscape mode?
HelloSince last week my camera can't focus correctly for some reason. It's always stuck on the bottom part (and on the side in landscape mode). When I tap other parts of the screen it seems to adjust but just goes back to focusing the bottom. I tried a long tap that stops the autofocus-doesn't work.Running iOS 6.1 on 4S.Any suggestions for a solution? Thank you!
Hello, I have a few lightning adaptors to connect my phone 5 to iHomes. Slowely the connection has been harder and harder to make for charging. I have to tilt the phone forward for it to begin charging. I have several adaptors and it happens with both. It does not happen with my wife's iphone 5, so it sounds like a hardware issue with my iPhone 5. Anyone else experience this? Ideas?
Hardware Issue : Inside components moves inside ,when tilt/shake the iphone. In near future , it may loosen out complete and make the iphone downI feel it is shipping problem. How it fix it ? .
Hi, I have noticed that the tilt sensor on my 3GS is out, so that of I am playing a game I have to tilt the handset quite far to the right for it to actually turn that way. Is this a known issue with the tilt sensor? Is there a way to recalibrate the sensor? Or is this a software issue? Cheers for any help or advice,
My iPhone 4 is around 2 years old now, and it has been working pretty well. But from a few weeks, I am facing problems in the touchscreen. First, the bottom left corner went unresponsive (making me tilt the phone everytime I needed to insert a symbol). The a few days back the entire left edge of the screen got dead. And today, even the bottom edge of the screen has become unresponsive to touch. So you see, the defect is spreading. Typing on my dear phone has become a pain. I have taken utmost care of my phone and the screen is *scratchless*. I have never dropped my phone. There has been no physical damage AT ALL.I have seen many discussions where the phone got replaced by a brand new one, but most of then have been in the USA. I am living in New Delhi, India and I would like to know if any such replacement schemes are available here. And if yes, are they applicable in my case? If not replaceable, how much will a new touchscreen cost my pocket here in India?
My iPhone 5 will not change to landscape mode even when I have unlocked the orientation key what do I do?
Hi all. I've been searching all across the Internet in hopes that others are having the same issue as me. I'm hoping that anyone can shed some light on why this keeps happening to me. I purchased a brand new iPhone4s in December of 2011. My phone was working great till around April 2012, I began having the issue that if I take a picture of people with the apple camera app (both front & back camera), face detection locates the faces but then freezes on me. Many times the camera won't take the picture and then shuts down and restarts itself. Other times, it will take the picture but only after several minutes. The camera app works great on landscape, but not faces. It doesn't matter if I'm opening the camera from the lock screen or in my unlocked phone. I took my iphone into the apple store numerous times and it was eventually replaced. I started with a clean phone and just in case, I uploaded my apps back on my new iphone from itunes, not icloud. I did this to avoid installing the problem back on my iphone. Sadly, the problem is now arising again on a replaced iphone. In addition, on my orginal iphone (before replacement) sometimes, if I would want to edit a picture in the camera roll, the picture would freeze and cause my phone to shut down and restart. I haven't encountered this problem yet on the replaced iphone. Is this problem happening to anyone else? Please help. Thank you!
Where is the sensor that locks the Iphone 4s when you tilt it up on phone calls so your face does not touch it.
Hi, may I ask a question? Is there any chances to have my iPhone 4S homescreen rotate to landscape view without jail breaking? Appreciate for any info~
Many of my apps are opening up in landscape mode, even when I'm holding the iphone in the normal/vertical position. I would like the phone to be able to use potrait and landscape mode, depending on the position of the phone. How do i fix this?
I'm either missing something or Numbers is not working the way I was led to beleive. I bought Numbers for my phone so that I could create databases and searchable lists on my iPhone. But in order to be able to access them on my MacBook Pro, I had to by THAT version also.BUT, the problem that I'm having is two-fold. 1. If I rotate my phone I should get a landscape view of the page... I don't. Everything else acts that way, why not Numbers?2. If I build the page, say an inventory list, on my computer, I cannot manipulate it, (i.e. add to, or edit it) on the iPhone! What's with that? In some cases I can't even OPEN the original on my phone.... only a copy. Then I end up with a bunch of copies that I can't seem to get rid of and I don't know which one is the latest. It seems that I've got two apps that don't really work together like I thought they would. IOS6OS 10.8.2 Help!
I received my iPhone 5 direct from Apple (UK) on Friday. Everything works fine but yesterday I suddenly noticed a very thin (1 - 2 mm) overly bright bit at the bottom of the screen (above the home button). It's virtually unnoticeable when using the iPhone in portrait orientation but when I turn it to landscape, it makes the edge of anything grey (the keyboard for example) look quite light at the edge. What I find strange is I can't really see it on a fully bright black screen (the normal test for light bleed), however on normal brightness (always less than half/quarter), it is visible on greys and certain other colours. Could this be light leakage or something else? I've looked at getting a Genius appointment at my local Apple store but they are fully booked food the next week at least!
my phone will not change to landscape mode even when i have orientation unlocked.
When I zoom with my iPhone 5 camera, the picture taken is not what is on the screen. It captures an image below what I see on screen in portrait mode and to the right in landscape mode. Any thoughts or fixes?
Without warning, the text of incoming emails is suddenly very small. The body of text is crowded into the left side of the screen. And, old emails in the inbox are exhibiting the same behavior. If you double tap the text, it resizes to fill the screen, but you shouldn't have to double tap every message to get it to read properly. I have tried accessibility function and increased the font size, but that has not helped. Reading email in landscape helps. I recently turned on iCloud but then turned it off with respect to emails. Cannot figure out why this is suddenly happening. Help.
I've started taking some shots with the iPhone 5 in ernest, and have noticed that when I take shots in landscape with the volume button on the top, the right hand side of the picture is noticably (to me anyway) out of focus. It looks like a misalignment of the lens and sensor. I took two photos with the same framing, one with the volume button on top and one with it below. There is a marked difference. I've done a 100% crop on the two right hand sides and put them next to one another. The rest of the image in both cases is in focus. I wondered if this was a "to be expected" type problem. I don't recall any of my other iPhones ever having this sort of issue - only cheaper compact cameras with high zooms. Not sure if this will allow full res views, so here's a URL too: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/854/focusez.jpg/
Hey guys sorry im new to these forums n unsure where 2 post this so hope some1 might b able 2 help me. Ive had my new iphone 5 for a week now and all i have had is drama n problems after problems. So i have heads missing n it will not rotate. I have contacted Apple and my mobile phone provider Telstra n they both r giving me the run around. In 7 days i have contacted both companies like 10 times. Telstra tell me its iphone fault, apple says its network fault. Within 3 hours of having this mob i have had ****. Anyone have any info bout the probs im having? Is the wifi thing a prob on these new iphone 5? Will apple fix it? Can anyone help with y my videos r stuck on portrait once i have moved them n synced them? I always did this with my iphone 3gs so not sure y now all the videos i sync which i recorded with my 3gs or my new iphone5 r stuck on landscape mode even tho they r recorded in portrait. I like the phone alot and really was so happy to receive it but all these problems and no one willing to actually help is just very dissapointing and frustrating
I have noticed that if I take landscape shots with people in them, I cannot upload those files to a computer and rotate them... the message that comes up is "You cannot rotate this image. The file might be in use or open by another program, or the file or folder might be read only." All other non-human-face based photos can rotate all the time... I've tried many different computer programs (adobe, windows photo manager, etc...) and they all bring up this error. Any assistance?
Iphone never rotates to landscape mode. Is there a reset or fix
Phone is stuck on Portrait mode. Will not change in landscape. Is there a lock somehwhere or something I can do to unlock it.
If you are going to allow the user to use the phone in lasndscape mode, shouldn't you allow them user to get the full experience of landscape? I mean; by simply enabling the icons to rotate as the phone is tilted, you solve the problem and I for one will appreciate that very much and so will the other users. Take for instance the camera app; all icons tilt as the orientation is changed (very nice!!)
My iphone does not rotate into landscape mode. Is the a setting that controls this feature?
Hi guys, Need your help and some thoughts around a couple of issues. I've got an iPhone 4S which is still under warranty (through Vodafone contract). From Day 1 I've been facing these issues, but never really took it seriously (thinking Apple products can never be defective!!):a. While playing certain games, the touchscreen often goes unresponsive. Example Fifia Manager, Fifa 12, and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Lite.b. The accelerometer also seems to be having some issues. When I play games like Lane Splitter or Temple Run and when I tilt the phone towards right to move the bike/character towards the right, it goes left and vice-versa. Have been through a couple of troublehshooting steps, but not sure if the above issues are hardware related or software related. Troubleshooting steps:a. Restarted the phone (all the above games work well for a couple of days and then the issue pops up again)b. Reset all settingsc. Uninstalled and re-installed the above gamesd. Restarted the games Appreciate if any of you could help me with the above issues. Thanks!
My iPhone 4S with the latest iOS 5.1.1 (and previous 5.1) will not properly type a "t" in portrait mode. All I can get are the neighboring "r" and " y" in either lowercase or uppercase. The only way I can get the "t" is to turn my finger to 90º and hit the field at the very top, which works only occasionally. I think it's a defect in the touch screen. Any app that allows landscape mode will permit "t" and any other character to be typed easily. Any suggestions?
So I just wanted to share my recent Apple experience. I had bought the iPhone 4S on launch day back in October and had ZERO issues with it. I then FOOLISHLY sold it to go to Verizon and get the Galaxy Nexus. Well after coming to my senses I decided to go to the Apple store and pick up a white 32GB unlocked iPhone. Well this is where it all began. This phone was perfect execpt when it vibrated. It sounded like something was loose inside the phone. The Apple Genius gladly swapped it out for a black 32GB. Well this model did the same thing but not as badly. The Apple store REFUSED to swap it again and said I can just return it or live with it. So I got my money back and decided to save some money and just buy a sealed iPhone 4S on eBay locked to AT&T. Well I did that and that phone which was brand new seemed to have a very loose sleep wake button. When you slightly turned the phone from portrait mode to landscape mode you can hear it make a noise inside. Called up AppleCare and they agreed it SHOULD NOT be doing that. They sent me a "Service Phone" which had a VERY LOOSE home button. I mean this was so obvious it was almost sickening. I was about to punch someone because of all the aggravation I've dealt with at this point. That very night I drove all the way to the Apple Store which is an hour and a half away and he swapped it out. Well that one (my current one) seemed fine. All I cared about was that the home button was not loose by any means. Well a couple days after playing with the phone I noticed that the home button is slightly crooked and a huge speck of dust is stuck inside the camera lens. I've been so busy the last couple weeks I decided to call Apple Care tonight and they were shocked by how many phones I've had. I apologized to the poor girl that this may seem obsessive, but I payed a lot of money and an Apple product shouldn't have all these flaws. She 100% agreed and after being on hold for a very long time decided to just send me a BRAND NEW (NOT SERVICED) phone. I was like wow, you can do that? She said, I should not have had all those issues and just got unlucky with the first one being brand new, but said it was likely to happen with the service models. So long story short, I am very afraid my BRAND NEW iPhone 4S that I'll be getting next week will have some kind of issue. With every one of these "defective" phones I compared them to my friend's iPhone 4S. His seems flawless, go figure. All of these defective iPhones were made between January-March 2012. I have never had a quality control problem with any Apple product before. Hopefully I just got really, really unlucky.
We take picture then select the option to send via email. When received in email i8t's in landscape format even thoughit shows on the phone portrait.
My iPhone is screen display is locked in portrait and display won't turn to landscape when phone is turned (even calculator). Suggestions??
Noticed lately that the screen doesn't switch to landscape when turned horizontal. Anyone experience this problem?
My iPhone no longer switches from portrait to landscape when I flip it around. Anyone else have this problem?
Hi, since the iOS 5.1 update I have been seeing alot of my applications crashing. Here are some of them that crash: Mail, Calender, Safari, and sometimes the AppStore. When I use Mail and try and send an email to others it will crash but it freezes first. Calender app crashes when I turn the phone from portrait to landscape. Safari just freezes and crashes at any given time. The AppStore also crashes when it gets stuck loading an app page... I have also noticed a few more bugs on the login screen sometimes I will try and press the numeric keyboard and it will not respond to me pressing the button. Then we have the keyboard sometimes exit out of its self when I am still typing... ;) Thats all I can tell for now..
I just updated to ios 5.1 using the iphone 4s and the tilt function has totally stopped working. Is there something I can do to fix this? Are others experiencing this problem? Thanks!m
Have you noticed the slight difference in brightness between the top half and bottom half of your 4/4S screens? Of the multiple exampes I have looked at half seem to have uneven backlighting where the top section of the screen is darker. The rest had yellowish screens. You can see it by going into Settings>General and turning your device to landscape mode. You can also check using any of the various flashlight apps but I find the dark text in Settings helps me to see it more clearly.
Ever since yesterday, my iPhone 4S has been giving me really weird glitches, progressing more and more towards the worst ones. Allow me to list them, in order of occurance: Started with my E-mail: Unknown Sender, Unknown Subject, Date: 12/31/69Audio refused to play from external speaker. Slient mode off, volume maximized, tested across various apps, headphones unplugged/replugged/unplugged. Fixed itself after reboot.Random black screens with swirling loading circle icon. After a few seconds, it returned back to where I was.Recieved a text message. After unlocking phone, screen began to flicker. Various gadgets from the pull down notification center appear in landscape, lockscreen background appears in portrait mode— all of them flashing, strobing, and distorted— until it went to a black screen w/ circle icon again. After a few seconds, returned back to unlocked lock screen. Any ideas? I haven't dropped it, and it was never dropped into water or anything.
Have done everything I can think of
I'm holding my iPhone in landscape mode, then I want a screenshot. When I do screenshots they all submit in photos as portrait. Anyone know how to fix this issue?
When I try to lock the Orientation to landscape mode, it automatically changes it to Horizontal mode and locks. Any ideas?
Dear all My iPhone 4 ios 5.0.1 rotate function in landscape in not working. In game, camera and in safari Brower .Please tell me how I can resolve this issue any suggestion regarding this matter.Thx in advance
Please help, I just got my brand new iphone 4s but suddenly noticed there is a problem with the screen orientation not responding correctly when changing from portrait to landscape and vice versa, and this problem occurs on all applications, i.e.. camera, safari... most of the times it gets stuck in landscape mode and don't go back to portrait in safar's case and in camera the option buttons dont corespond to the actual orientation of my iphone making the pictures that I take have incorrect orientations. I have tried reseting the settings on my iphone, do a hard reset but with no cure to the problem. anyone else have the same issue?
I'm having trouble with the phone screen orientation. Whenever I open texting, email, the web, the screen orientation switches to landscape even though I'm holding the phone in portrait. Anyone know how to fix that? I'm currently downloading the latest version if iTunes following which I will upgrade the ios on the phone & hopefully that will fix the problem. Meanwhile if anyone else has experienced this can you advise how you resolved it in case the above does not work. Kevin
Is anyone else experincing this issue? I have noticed this maybe five or six times within the past week. When I am using my iPhone 4S, Siri will randomly pop up, make its sound effects, and then close; this is all without holding in the home button or even coming close to bumping it for a few seconds. I have also noticed it happening when rotating my phone from portrait to landscape mode. This happened while running iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1...
hello all, I have a really weird issue. My iPhone 4 is just 4 months old and my use is very minimal. Since last three days, I am experiencing this weird issue and I unable to find a solution. What happens is, when I open Mail, or Message or safari or any applicaion and launch the keypad, the keys on the right side of the phone don't work. In order to make them work, I have to tilt the phone to landscape mode. But then, the bottom keys stop working. So basically, all the keys on the right side of the phone don't work. I have rebooted the phone to no avail. Please help!
My iPhone 4 (with iOS 5.0) won't go to landscape while taking photos/videos EVEN IF PORTRAIT ORIENTATION SETTING IS NOT LOCKED! However, watching YouTube/Videos is stuck on landscape! I was getting this even on iOS 4.0, but under this OS, I can restart the phone, and in some cases, this problem goes away. However, under iOS 5, it simply wouldn't go to landscape. Photos is not a worry, since I can just rotate this, but videos is now stuck on Portrait! Again, the PORTRAIT ORIENTATION SETTING is NOT LOCKED! But it still wouldn't go to landscape. Is this some sort of a "gyroscope" problem?? O
Hi iPhone 4 users. I believe I have identified a potential issue with IOS-5 and would like to understand from this community if anyone is having the same issue. What I have identified is that when sending photos from your library rotation of photos change from what is visible on the phone versus what has been recieved via email. The test was determined using GMAIL via WEB, GMAIL via Outlook Client, and corporate exchange mail using outlook also. Please note that the reason why I suspect IOS5 issue is that I have replicated the same fault using the iPad 2 features. When you send an email to the similar email clients as listed above choosing a photo image from yourlibrary the photo as displayed on the iPhone 4 and iPad 2 matches what was recieved via email,If you select a photo from your library select edit and change the rotation of the file. It prompts you tosave it into your Camera Roll folder. When you select the edited photo from Camera Roll and email itto the same email clients the photo comes through as per the original prior to the rotation. As a resultappears that rotation appears ok on both devices but not when sent via email,If you decide to take a new photo on either iPhone 4 or iPad 2 in landscape with (home button to the left sidewhen holding it). The photo appears in the correct orientation on both devices however when you email themthey come through as 180 degrees rotated upside down,If you decide to take a new photo on either ihone 4 or iPad 2 in portrait with (home button to the bottom sidewhen holding it) The photo appears in the correct oerientation on both devices however when you email themthey come through as 90 degress rotated left,If you decide to tale a new photo on either iPhone 4 or iPad 2 in landscape upside down (home button to the right sidewhen holding it) The photo appears in the correct oerientation on both devices however when you email themthey come through as per what is on the devices. Dilema is that you need to hold the phone differently to get the result you want. NOTE: That when using screen capture photos, they get delivered just fine. In addition I have tested 2 other iPhone 4 all on IOS 5 with all having the same result. An iPhone 4 on 4.3.5 does not have this issue. This may remove hardware issues unless otherwise it is an issue with the Ghyroscope sensors software updates???? Anyone having the same issue please so we can log a call with Apple to get this issue resolved.
The new iOS 5 Music app is laggish when I'm viewing albums in landscape view, the album artwork delays about 0.5 sec loading. Some delays on lockscreen music switching. I don't have that problem when I'm on 4.3.3. Anyone got the same problem?
Basically, the bottom of my screen is unresponsive. So when i try to send a text i cannot use the space bar or 123 function. I have to turn the phone landscape to text without problems. It also causes problem when i try to unlock it as the sliding function will then not work. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? Dell Vostro Windows 7
