Slowly having change of heart iPhone 4

Ok, Ive been an iphone fanatic since the I got my first 3g and never looked back. However now, with all the non-stop issues from apple, Im slowly beginning to feel like I should give android a try just to see if its any better. With every new phone apple releases its great hype about what it can do and blah blah blah, but lately the actual experience is very short of those hypes. 1. Battery life-Apple claims I can surf the web on wifi for up to TEN hours, but in reality, if I take my phone off the charger in the morning at 100%. If I leave wifi ON without doing any browsing whatsoever, Im bound to get a lousy 5 to maybe 6 hours of LIGHT usage. Because my battery just keeps on going down just for having wifi on. 2. HD Video-This is a big one as it was a selling factor to me. However HD videos are only useful if the color is accurate. Im sick and tired of YELLOW tinted videos indoors and over exposed (too much brightness) videos outdoors. Same goes for pictures. In fact for pictures using flash tend to create WASHED out images way more than well lit ones. On top of that, if you are lucky enough to be shooting a video where the color is just right (accurate) if the subject moves about 2 feet from the iphone4, the entire color scheme or shooting Theme now changes to blue. The problem with that is it makes people with dark skin look even darker. My old 3GS still takes better pictures and videos than this HD crap. I wont even mention the barrel distortion of the front facing camera that makes me look like a cone head. 3. Proximity-While this has NOT happened much to me, when it does, its ****. Its the most frustrating thing to keep pressing buttons with your cheek, placing people on mute without knowing, and even hanging up on them. 4. Updates_Why should an update comes out and work for some while cause problems for many including me. I no longer appreciate these updates that fix XYZ, and at the same time creates ABC of new problems. After updating to 4.0.2, several times pressing the home button would not wake the phone up, and my battery life seemed like it was on a roller coaster. So I went back to 4.0.1 although I would prefer to go back to 4.0 but apple isnt signing that build any more. At the end, maybe android may have similar issues. Maybe not, I dont know. However considering my happiness level has been slowly decreasing with apple. Only time will tell if I make the switch. Apple should realize that the APP store can only do so much to keep us happy. My hope is 4.1 will fix all of the above, however, Im starting to not even believe apple cares that much any more. cypher red pill

Ringtone disappeared iPhone

I recently bought a ringtone for my new 3GS (Benny Hill Theme), and had it set as my default ringtone for about a week. Today, I noticed that I was back to the default ringtone, and the purchased one is no where to be found.Ive been Googling quite a bit, and cant really find any answers that apply to my situation. Several times Ive seen people mention the Ringtones section in the Library, but my Library has no Ringtones section.I went back to the iStore, found the exact same ringtone, but it looks like Id have to purchase it all over again.All Ive done lately is add a couple of games to the phone, I have no idea why this would happen.p.s. I thought about checking sync ringtones on the ringtone tab when my phone is connected to iTunes, but I get a message saying that all music, movies, and tv shows will be deleted. Keyboard Color iPhone

I've been trying to change the color of the keyboard on my iPhone, however, when I install settings that are specifically designed for that the change never happens. Im using Cydia and the changes dont take effect in the select themes tab in winterboard. I'm not using a specific Theme, so it should be working. Please help.

Unable to find "settings / mail" iPhone

hi there!on my jailbreaked iphone 3GS with OS 3.0 i can't find the Mail-Settings. I enter Setting and all the other stuff appears but not "Mail". I saw in other forums that an activated Winterboard-Theme could hide this option in Settings. So i disabled all themes but there's still no "Mail"anyone can help me, please?thanks a lot!

Ive just discovered that I cant transfer files using Bluetooth on my new high-tech iPhone. How do Apple get away with this?!? Such a basic tool that is on offer with every other handset on the market! So now Im going to have to use my work Blackberry again..! I can see a common Theme developing here..... Recently, I participated in a new browser based game’s beta test. It is the World of Lordcraft. The game is heavily influenced by World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings with “mid-earth style” story and graphics. The game play is like a hybrid of WoW and Heroes of Might and Magic. It feels good and right. I also took some screenshot and made some icons. It is my hobby.Apple announced iPad in January. This little thing made me go crazy. It is elegant; It supports Wi-Fi; it has good 3D acceleration. It feels like a iPod Touch, but much better. The ten hour battery alone is worth of 500 bucks, not even mention the features and apps.Unfortunately, it won’t be available until March. All we can do is wait. Iphone 3.0 upgrade Mail Application Not Working 3G

Greetings, After upgrading to 3.0 software, all applications seem to work, with some slightly longer loading times....except for one!The one application that will not work...MAIL_______________________________________________Upon launching mail, the application will load show my inbox and try to retrieve mail. Usually within 10 seconds it kicks back out to the home screen. Other variations of this problem are not loading the mail program at all as well as loading the mail app accepting some input, then black screen to home screen reload.The only other variation of this was once mail started, I tried to hold my finger on the screen and scroll. Wait until the application was done checking for mail. Up in the top left corner of the screen the working or loading icon is still in action. As soon as I let go of the scrolling, I get kicked out. Last variation on this Theme was the upper left loading icon NOT occuring, I release scroll and then kicked out of mail application.I tried turning off each individual mail account (I have three set up, hotmail, gmail, .mac). I also tried turning all mail accounts off. I tried turning on and off push and fetch features on each individual account and running mail. Absolutely NO luck in any variation.Turning the iPhone into AIRPLANE mode allowed me to run mail, read emails. I even thought perhaps I was able to delete messages. Once I turned AIRPLANE mode off, and relaunched mail app, all emails were reloaded and I was kicked out.I have had no problems with mail app in the past in any fashion. Updating to 3.0 has locked me out of my most often used application.I have been searching forums and Google all day with no luck to anyone else stating this problem. The software was only released today, so perhaps not everyone has used each application throughly yet, or have not posted their problems.I have tried turning device on and off, hard reset, soft reset, power down, plugging in, syncing.The one HUGE problem I have is that I backed up before upgrading, BUT, Apple does not allow us to create NEW backups. So, without me knowing, when I hit SYNC to try to update, it overwrote my 2.1 backup. (Which by the way is so frustrating. Why can we not say create new backup, rename them, choose which back up to restore from?)Alas, I am stuck in purgatory with no access or clear idea how to proceed in getting mail running again.Has ANYone else had anything similar to this, or possibly found a work around?Your input is much appreciated,Cheers,E! New to IPHONE With Question about Themes 3G

Hey does anyone know how to change the Themes on the IPHONE. I have seen others on the internet with different Themes. I cannot find anywhere on the phone so far to change the Theme. I see where you can change the Wallpaper. This is not what i am talking about. The Theme i am talking about is after you turn it on and unlock to get to where all of the icons and doc are. Accessory compatibility prompt iPhone

Hello everyone, first post. I know this is a known issue, but its a variation on a Theme, so please read the whole description before writing it off.Whenever I plug my iPhone in to almost any adapter or dock, even with a charge converter, it will work fine for about 10 minutes. After that, the music pauses and the iPhone gives the compatibility error. I press any button (either way, it exhibits the same behavior) and start the music again. Then after about 3-5 minutes, it pauses and gives the error again, and again after a minute, and then every 3-5 seconds. If I remove the iPhone from the device for about an hour, and try it again, the cycle repeats itself.Ive tried cleaning everything thoroughly, and checked with those who support two of the docks and they say at the bare minimum they support playing music.To boot, I also got a Apple bluetooth headset and it will allow me to make outbound calls, but it rarely allows me to take incoming calls.Im using a brand new iPhone 3G 16GB running firmware v2.2.First, is anyone else exhibiting any of this behavior? Second, does anyone think its a hardware issue? Third, can I do a swap at the AT&T store. I just got it from there about two weeks ago.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! I was posting something on Apples Discussions about the change in the Google Mobile App - a poster was lamenting the change to the mobile-optimized format. I like the classic view better, was searching for a way to change it to that in the Settings during a football game... My point follows.I was in the apps Settings screen, fiddling with it by scrolling up and down a bit during the review and not looking at the screen - nervous habit, I guess...After the TD, I stopped fidgeting and looked back at the Settings screen, and theres a new menu at the bottom of the screen I swear wasnt there before called Bells and Whistles. Theres four new settings, following with an appropriate descriptions.Theme Color.Sounds. Default, Chicken, Monkey.Live Waveform. While using the voice search, the waveform matches the intonation of the sound.Open Link in App. I like this one - linked results in the app dont launch the Safari browser and lose your search results; and a new navigational bar appears at the bottom of the app.Dont shoot the messenger. A buddy watching the game didnt have the extra settings, but just kept scrolling down for a few minutes and the extra settings just showed up and stuck after that. MBP Mac OS X (10.5.4)

2.2 major glitch iPhone

Hi all,Ive been reading a number of threads all with a similar Theme and I think Apple have a major glitch with 2.2. A few days ago I upgraded to 2.2 after which I noticed that I couldnt make or receive calls anymore. Like a large number of contributors to the site everytime I try calling someone the 3g signal goes after the first couple of rings and then the call fails. If someone tries calling me the phone sometimes shows the number (sometimes it doesnt) but then declines the call, other times the call will go straight to voicemail.Now I have tried literally every suggestion made on this forum- reset, restore and create new accout, drain battery,change sim, call carrier, try sim in another phone, reinstall iTunes etc...nothing fixes this problem.Im convinced its a problem with 2.2. I want alert Apple and ask them to investigate now!!Im taking my phone to a service centre tomorrow and im sure it will be gone for week, which is a major inconvienience that could be avoided for other users if Apple just fixed the glitch with 2.2.Rob iMac G5 MacBook pro Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Help I messed up my iPhone

Hello..Recently I downloaded a template ( looks like vista ) for my iPhone2G , and it worked great for few months.Now I tried to install an application and everything went wrong! Phone resetted to default Theme , and its doing things like when u press wake/sleep button every 5 seconds..I also get message Edit Home Screen window , but thats just about it .. Its sleep/waking every 5 seconds untill i shut it down.Im guessing that its trying to use Theme i downloaded but something is just not right so it goes back to old one..How can i fix this? I dont want to go to recovery mode cause i would loose all my data on the phone..Btw iTunes dont recognize the phone when its onThanks! iPhone 2G Windows Vista

guys & gals,reports of substandard battery life are a common Theme on these forums. I need to know if my white box replacement iphone 3g (yes, already - and Im only 2 weeks into the service!) needs addl servicing.right now, im only getting 4hr 31 min usage, 1day 6hr standby on a full charge. i set the brightness to ~25%, sound to ~40%, push once an hour, 3g and wifi off, handful of txt, handful of brief ( <20 minute) phone calls. what to do?

My Iphone 3G wont recharge

OK, so this is bugging me now.Had the iphone (3G) for 24 hours now... first 16 were good. Then I decided to recharge it. Nothing happened. I stepped away and came back. Nothing. I tried plugging into USB 2 on my macbook - ITunes recognised it, but no charge. PLugged int wall same - vibrated and charge icon displayed, but no charging.So i started looking around online. Seems others are having a similar issue - no matter what you do the phone wont charge, to a point where you get a screen with an almost empty battery and a lightning bolt. I understand this to be core system protecting itself until it has enough charge to launch up.There were suggestions on other forums of rebooting (holding down home and power for 6 seconds until it switches off - pulling out charge cable then re-inserting) and variations on the Theme. So far this hasnt worked - though Id be willing to try again. Have backed up and restored the system (before the battery completely died on me) - still nothing.Now I am upset! But I am determined to get this little bugger to comeback to life - I just need your help!Any other ideas - I will be eternally greatful. iPhone 3G Mac OS X (10.4.11) Latest operating system (2.0.1 i think)
