My iphone stops syncing at steps 3 of 6

Apple recently replaced my broken iphone 4s with a new one. Everything was great, the backup on my computer worked and I had all mystuff from the day before it was replaced. However, when i plugged it in to add a few new songs, they didn't sync. In fact, my itunes never finshes a sync anymore, it just stops here for no reason. Any suggestions?

Maps no longer giving transit instructions iphone 3G

I am very disappointed to find that I can no longer use my iphone to find public transit instructions using maps.  This was my go-to method of independent travel.  Now that I've moved to a city I just found out that maps no longer will find me busses!  I now have had to do research into apps, and use a combination of two apps as well as the metro system website to figure out a simple trip.  What used to be one step has turned into many steps. What was apple thinking with this change????? I'm living in Seattle and so far have not found an app that performs all the functions of the old iphone maps.

I am planning on buying an unlocked iphone 5 with T-Mobile Nano S . I have few questions.

I was planning on buying a 32GB unlocked iphone 5 with the T-Mobile Nano Sim. I was going to activate the Sim with T-Mobile's prepaid $30 unltd text/data with 100 minutes plan. I've read some stories online where people were only able to use the Sim with T-Mobile's post-paid plans. Will the Sim that comes included work with prepaid and post-paid plans?  Also, assuming that it does work with prepaid, what steps would I need to go through to activate the iphone? Assuming that it doesn't, would cutting down a prepaid Micro Sim from T-Mobile to Nano Sim size work normally? Thank you in advance!

(specify "Start" & "Stop" time - under "Options" – to any 30-seconds duration and click OK)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file...(when done iTunes will create a Chime)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------4) to locate the created .m4a file easily, Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Show in Finder" from the pop-up list...(iTunes will automatically point the folder location of the original .mp3 & the newly created .m4a files... keep this window open for later...)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------5) change the .m4a file to .m4r as suggested... Keep this window open to make the transfer manually !!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------9) Once your duplicate is placed inside the "Tones" folder, double-click on that duplicate .m4r(true) file and let iTunes play, it should automatically place that ringtone file into the "Ringtone" sidebar List in the iTunes program... How to upload iOS 1.0 on my iphone 4

Is there any way I can upload the original iOS 1.0 software on my iphone 4? If so, can one of you more experienced Apple users please walk me through the steps on installing it?  I loved the original 1.0 software; it was simplistic yet very functional. However, the original iphone I once had is now defunct. I currently have an iphone 4 and would like to return to using iOS 1.0.  I'm also not really interested in the new upgraded version of iOS that was detailed in today's keynote address.  I hope someone is able to help me with this. I'm looking forward to returning to the days that once were...the days of iOS 1.0!

I went through all the steps and it did not work. However was told by another App supplier that I should rename my iphone. (General-Settings-About) I did and it resolved the issue.  Very odd..

So, I have tried the following steps (found here and elsewhere on the web) to get my Facebook contacts out of my phone: Settings > Facebook > Allow these Apps to Use Your Account: Calendar and Contacts to OFF (clicked "Update all Contacts")Result: No change; all Facebook friends in contactsSettings > iCloud > Contacts: set slider to OFFResult: Asked if I wanted to keep the contacts from iCloud on phone. Choosing Yes resulted in no change to contacts. Choosing No deleted all of my contacts from phone (and gave me a heart attack)Facebook App > Log OutResult: No change to contacts.Settings > Facebook > Delete Account (to delete account off iphone only).Result: Took contacts list down to 50 (some random Facebook contacts a few others) and wiped out nearly all manually entered contacts (gave me heart attack # 2).Settings > Facebook > Add Account. My iphone 4 bluetooth is not working. I have recently bought two iphone 4 from a colleague. Both have bluetooth problems as mentioned below.  Here's what I did and found:1. I turned on bluetooth on my iphone 42. Then I turned on bluetooth on my nexus 73. Nexus 7 found my iphone 4, then I started pairing my nexus 7 with my iphone 4.4. Pairing successful. iphone 4 showed Nexus 7 listed.5. But when selected Nexus 7 in the list, within a few seconds, message popped up "Nexus 7 is not supported". The same situation occured when I tried the above steps with my sonyerricson W580 phone. But my Nexus 7 and sonyerricson W580 can easily communicate over bluetooth. Can anyone suggest me what to do in order to make the bluetooth on my iphone 4 to work?

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart.  I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode.  However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore".  On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9.  I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac.  Same results on both computers.  She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children.  This phone has not been jailbroken.  Any help would be sooooo appreciated!  Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

I have iphone 4S that is UNLOCKED.  I noticed after upgrading to iOS 6.1.2 and 6.1.3 the battery is draining quickly. - I searched thru the Apple forum and internet and followed troubleshooting steps to dissable any settings and applications that might increased the battery usage.  Still after all the troubleshooting, my iphone has battery drain issues. - I called Apple and talked to customer support. The guy did his best effort to solve the problem but the solutions that he provided me I have already done it.  I sent him a system report of my iphone and he told me that the iphone is operating fine. I asked him if there is a way that I can downgrade the iOS 5 and he told me that it is not possible. 1.  Who has the same problem and found a solution?  Please provide the solution?2.  Has someone been able to downgrade to iOS 5?  Please provide steps? Thanks

iphone 4: Since Friday Evening i have not been able to make any calls or sms not even recieve them, i have tested my sim card on a different iphone 4 and i could make calls and sms, so i know it is not my sim card. i have phoned up my carrier which is t-mobile and they have gone through all the troubleshooting steps with me and have not worked?, i have full signal most of the time and i can still use my unlimited internet data?, i think it maybe a fault with the iphone or i have touched a setting on my phone, there is no scratches or dents or even cracks on my phone? i have not dropped it either. I need a calendar app that has a quick add for appointments and events, i need a way to pick a date in calendar  view, then add a event or reminder or todo and even add a note with checkmarks or numbered such as 1,2,3, etc.  And. One with geo location alerts for reminders about stuff as i am near the location of the area where i need to go. i have tried just about every notepad  and reminder app out there some do offer the things I am looking for such as (checkmark ) or some from (Appigo)  but like spring-pad or life topics they have so many options and  really too many choices it takes ten steps to set a reminder on those.  If anyone has any suggestions or ideas please let me know. iphone 4s only charging to 98 .

When I charger my iphone 4s with the Apple wall charger it only charges to 98%, even though the battery icon shows 100% and completely charged. I unplug the power cable and the battery percentage shows 98% which at that point I connect it back with the wall charger and it shows 100% again. I repeat these steps and the same results occur.   My iphone 4s has the most current version of the iOS (6.1.2).  Any suggestions or ideas on how to fix this?

It is iphone 4, it was good all these days.. I am not sure this issue is after upgrade to iOS 6. I checked all options like "no orientation lock" did a reset ect. Still it is not rotating automatically. Everytime I need to rotate by assistive touch to rotate screen..   Let me know if any hardware troubleshooting steps can be folllowed.

How to Delete Messages in Spotlight Search History without Resetting or Syncing iphone 5

I know there are a lot of individuals dealing with this issue and if you are like me you spend hours searching "how to delete messages in spotlight search history" and it seems like every post either says to reset your phone or sync it! I'm sorry but I did not want to go through the hassle of resetting my phone but I did try to sync it which did nothing so I decided to just mess around with my settings and I believe to have found the answer to everyone's question!!  This worked for me so I really hope this works for you! Just follow the steps below:  1. Go to <settings><general><spotlight search><uncheck messages> 2. Then turn your phone off and wait a minute! Turn your phone back on and off again 2 or 3 more times while waiting a minute in between turning it off! 3. After you are done doing that go back to step 1 and <check messages>! 4. Now go to your spotlight search and those messages should be deleted! If they are deleted I would recommend going back to step 1 and <uncheck messages> so you do not have the same problem with messages showing up again in the spotlight search! It works for Mail too! Just follow the same steps listed above but uncheck mail instead of messages or do both at the same time!!*Here is an extra tip which will remove deleted Mail Messages, just follow the steps below:1. Go to <settings><mail, contacts, calendars><your mail account> scroll down and click <advanced> Now click <remove> under the title Deleted Messages and you can choose to have your mail removed After One Day, After One Week, After One Month or Never.  I hope this post was detailed enough and easy to understand!I really hope it works for you like it did for me! I have the approval message from my carrier to follow the steps to unlocking my iphone. However I do not plan (to as of right now) to switch carriers. If I proceed with the restore, will my iphone still be unlocked? Or, do I have to switch sim cards with another carrier for my iphone to be unlocked?

iphone 5--No Sound Has Vibration

I woke up this morning via my alarm settings on my iphone 5. Came back to the phone about 45 minutes later and noticed there was no sound for the lockpad, calls, alarms, notifications, ringtones, music, other apps, etc.  I followed some of the of the steps I've found through through the community: - Confirmed silent button wasn't turned on- Confirmed both ringtone/sound volumes were turned up- Turned off bluetooth- Forced Reboot- Regular Shutdown/Restart- Reset All Settings (Without Content)- Disable/Enable Change with Buttons- Disabled/Enabled Vibrate on Ring/Silent  When attempting to change a ringtone with "vibrate on ring" and silent button turned off the vibrate kicks in however no tone. I've seen this in the past with my 4S and it only took a forced reboot to clear it.  Anyone else experiencing this issue as of 2013?  I heavily rely on sounds for alarms, notifications, etc (as I'm sure everyone else does) so any word of advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Hey Everyone, I have ran into some serious issues with my iphone recently. Back story:Changed from a 3GS to a 4.After a few days, "no sim card" would show up occasionally. Normally after the phone died, was turned off, or put in airplane mode. Was fixable through the steps outlined on Apple's website (airplane mode off and on/ejecting SIM Card)This was happening more and more often and becoming tougher to switch so I got a new SIM from AT&T. Tried putting my number on multiple sim cards and "No Sim Card" was displayed constantly and it never worked. Other people's SIM Card do work in my phone though, and the SIM Card with my number works in other people's phone.AT&T recommended a restore. I backed up the phone and started the restore process. After selecting a language, country, and wi-fi settings, I get this message on my iphone "Activation request could not be completed. If the problem persist, please contact customer care." When its plugged into iTunes this message pops up:"We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time. Please try again later, or contact customer care."  -still shows No SIM Card.I tried restoring through recovery mode and still no luck.   Can anyone please help me? Why do other SIM cards work in my phone? Why does mine work in other phones when it doesn't work in mine?  Most importanly, how can I get my phone/SIM Card working again? Thanks so much for any advice or suggestions.

iphone 4S bricked after 6.1 update-iTunes errors 211611

Yesterday my iphone 4S asked me to install the iOS 6.1 update (via the Settings.app) "over the air". After downloading and preparing the update, the iphone rebooted itself to start the update process.Unfortunately, this is where it all went wrong. It seems like the iphone update failed somewhere along this process. It is now stuck in "Recovery Mode", with the picture showing me to connect the phone to iTunes. I have tried countless times restoring the phone via iTunes, on 4 different computers, and on Windows 7 and OS X.Nothing works. The restore process fails during the "Preparing iphone" phase. Here's what happens every time:I can see the phone being restarted.The Apple logo shows up, and a little wheel in the bottom of the screen starts spinningAs soon as (usually even before) the progress bar shows up on the phone, the device suddenly shuts downThe iphone reboots right back into recovery mode, asking me to connect to iTunes I'm quite desperate at this point. I have followed all steps imaginable (including turning off Windows firewall and antivirus software), but even then the restore still won't complete. iTunes always gives me the same error: 1611.When putting the phone into DFU manually, it gives me another error: 21.Both seem to point to third-party security software interfering with the restore process.However, having tried this on 4 different computers, I am 99% sure that this is not the issue. So far I've tried:HP Laptop - Windows 7Asus Desktop - Windows 72010 Macbook Pro 15" - OS X Mountain Lion + Windows 8 (Bootcamp)2010 Macbook Pro 13" - OS X Mountain Lion Also, I should mention that in Belgium there aren't any official Apple Stores where I can book an appointment at a Genius Bar. iphone 5 update failed via iTunes. Needs to restore but keeps getting errors.

Hi, Just tried to update my iphone 5 to iOS 6.1 through iTunes in WIndows 7. First time actually, usually I have been updating directly in the phone without any problems. When iTunes tried to update my phone it got an error, seems it didn't even got to begin updating it. Now iTunes keeps telling me I need to do a restore of the phone to be able to use it. Got the iTunes logo and a USB cabel on the screen.  Anyhow, it seems to work untill it are ready to implement the restore on my phone. The apple logo and the progress bar appears but nothing happens, it just won't move. After a couple of minutes iTunes drops the connection to the phone and gives me an error code of 1611 and my phone goes back to the restore/recovery screen.  Seems there is a problem with the USB transfer? The weird thing is that I've been synchronizing without any problems earlier. Though when iTunes was about to begin update it installed the Apple Mobile USB drivers again, perhaps that might be the problem? I have also followed steps in the support area with disabling security programs, reinstalling iTunes etc without any luck.

Personal Hotspot iphone 4 disabled by previous GSM operator

My current operator allows and has included in my plan cellular internet tethering. (I had used their services on this device before as well). I have switched to another service provider (O2 - UK) at some point, and they have somehow disabled my personal hotspot option via a "Network Settings" message they have sent when I first switched over. Now I am back with my old GSM operator, but their support center does not know how to re-enable the option on my phone. The "Set Up Personal Hotspot" button in the "Cellular" tab is grayed out and cannot be used right now. I am already on 6.0.1 and cannot update the iOS. Tried resetting the Network settings several times - it does not work. I really do not want to revert back to factory settings - lots of things to lose.. I just thought I'd also ask here as well. (By the way I can insert my SIM to other devices and they can tether the internet, so the trouble is really in the device) I would appreciate any help.Thanks.

I need to view important texts from last January that are no longer on my phone. My phone was backed up to itunes and my laptop at least three times since last January. What are the steps I need to take to recover the text messages?  And can I view them on my computer? I don't have a MAC i have windows.
