A few days ago I got my iPhone unlocked from my provider (telstra) as I am about to travel and wanted to put a country specific sim in it. Since then no non-Apple apps have worked.I have tried (many times) to :- 1. restore from a previous backup (plus multiple syncs) and using different backups2. delete an app and reinstall it3. download a new free app (and when that didn't work I deleted it and retried installing it)4. sign in and out of the app store on the iphone5. sign in and out of the app store on my iMac6. de-authorise and re-authorise my iMac7. wipe the iPhone clean and start with a fresh install8. And reset the device too many times. Nothing I have found on any site has worked. I thought the wipe the phone clean would have done it but it hasn't.I have wasted about 20 hours trying to get this thing working again. If I wasn't going on vacation tomorrow I would be at my provider getting them to fix their mess but I can't. Can anyone help? Please? iPhone 4S (Apps are active - just won't stay open)
I had to get a replacement phone as my lock button stopped working. Now this refurb one won't keep a connection to my provider (telstra). It will be ok then just drop out and cycle through searching, no service, SOS only and back to normal. It will do this over and over and then be fine for hours, then start doing it again. Has anyone else encountered this? Im assuming it must be a problem with the refurb handset as my old phone didn't do it and no one else I know on telstra with an iPhone is having any problems. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Cheers.
Here's my journey. I had the iPhone 5 from the day it was realeased. Was with Vodafone Australia. Phone was awesome. Coverage was an issue, so decided to swap to telstra recently. Got new iPhone 5 with the change over. From the beginning, the new Iphone on telstra, the battery was draining completely in less than 3 hours. Looked at the support communities and spoke to Apple. I made the mistake of setting the phone up from a "BackUp". They suggested setting it up as a "new phone" in iTunes. Did that - phone had been awesome until 4 days ago when I decided to "Update All" of the pending App updates. After all was downloaded the phone returned to its draining self, also becomign VERY VERY HOT when charging. Warmer than normal. Also got a SMS from telstra to say I have used 82% of my download entitlement. With 22 days remaining!!!! Something wasnt right, not only was it using the battery life, cellular data usage was being drained also. Spoke to Apple, they told me I would need to do a process of elimination to find the "corrupt" app that was draining the Battery & Data. I deleted every single App I had on the phone, yet it made no difference. I started to monitor the cellular data recieved on the phone. With no apps and nothing running, how is there data and battery being drained. Decided yesterday to"RESTORE" iPhone once again. Set up as a new phone. I had loaded my email settings, but nothing else. I hadnt even provided my Apple ID infomation so the App Store wasnt logged in. Phone was still not right. Played with some settings, decided to turn my "Exchange" email from "PUSH" to "Manually Fetch". After this, the phone was back to normal. No cellular data being downloaded and battery OK. Turned Exchanged back to PUSH, then the battery decides to trickle away again. After all this ********, I have narrowed it down to the way my exhcnage server checks for new messages. I have ALWAYS had my Exchange server PUSH emails to me. Why with this phone, on 6.1 should I have to have it to Manually check for emails. I get the feeling from conversations with other people, there seems to be alot of unknown data usage which Apple need to make a priority in preventing. This is costing consumers time and money. Curious if anyone else has had same issue?

I'm trying to unlock my iPhone 4. telstra have confirmed they have unlocked it and I have Synched the phone on i-tunes. When I select "Restore" as part of the process to unlock, I receive the following error message: "The iPhone could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build" Any advice appreciated
I am having issues with my iPhone 4S I got from telstra in July 2012. First the ear speaker stopped working then the headphone jack and then the sleep button stopped working. My problem is I am on the road and telstra wants to send my phone away to get repaired and will take about 6-8 weeks and I have to go back to where I put the phone in for repair to retrieve the phone, apparently this is telstra policy. This isn't possible as I could be in WA or anywhere else in the country I am currently in QLD where I got the phone. I do t want or should have to sit in one place at the mercy of telstra. The phone as been in a leather flip case since I got the phone. Now the question what are my other options regarding repair or replacement of the phone? Adrian
I have 2 iPhone 5 handsets in front of me and I am running speed test using speedtest.net iPhone app. One of the handsets is receiving a much higher speed result than the other. Can someone please explain? See below for details... iPhone 5 BlackNetwork: TelstraSignal: LTE (Full)Max Speed: 9.0 Mbps Download iPhone 5 BlackNetwork: TelstraSignal: LTE (Full)Max Speed: 0.5 Mbps Download Neither handset has a case on, and both are plugged in to power.
Good day to all iPhone lovers out there ... Anyone experienced this problem? (pic). It appears occasionally when I try to download apps from the Apple app store. I have lodged a complaint and telstra has agreed to replace this unit.
Hi all, I just picked up my iphone 5 from telstra (Australia) and noticed one dead pixel located left-middle of the screen. While it isn't instantly obvious, it shows up on white backgrounds and you'll probably have to hunt a little to pick it up. Would I be able to exchange my phone for a new one or is this problem too insignificant? Addtionally, I work in a research laboratory and used a microscope to image the actual pixels on the screen and this is what i saw. Very obvious here.
Hey guys sorry im new to these forums n unsure where 2 post this so hope some1 might b able 2 help me. Ive had my new iphone 5 for a week now and all i have had is drama n problems after problems. The day i got it the problems began. My battery life is bad, need to charge it twice a day, my wifi drops out all the time, my 3g works great n then drops out too, my keyboard wen typing sometimes it will press the incorrect letter or i have probs trying to open the numbers section on the keyboard, i will have 2 press it several times b4 it opens. My reception was dropping out alot too but the last couple days it hasnt been too bad AND now the newest problem. I will record a video in portrait mode, i then sync my iphone up on2 my pc windows 7, i open my iphone storage n can see the videos n photos i have saved in my camera roll. I drag my video into the correct video file on my pc, i then add my file in my itunes library n sync. Wen sync has finished i open my videos file tab on my iphone n find my video, i open it but my video is stuck sideways (landscape) even tho it was recorded in portrait mode. So i have heads missing n it will not rotate. I have contacted Apple and my mobile phone provider telstra n they both r giving me the run around. In 7 days i have contacted both companies like 10 times. telstra tell me its iphone fault, apple says its network fault. Within 3 hours of having this mob i have had ****. Anyone have any info bout the probs im having? Is the wifi thing a prob on these new iphone 5? Will apple fix it? Can anyone help with y my videos r stuck on portrait once i have moved them n synced them? I always did this with my iphone 3gs so not sure y now all the videos i sync which i recorded with my 3gs or my new iphone5 r stuck on landscape mode even tho they r recorded in portrait. I used 2 b able 2 turn my mob around n da video would rotate either landscape or portrait. Plz any help coz the companies r giving me da run around. I even demanded a new phone the second day i had this one but their answer is no. Oh apple did say to reset settings, i did n lost stuff n it fixed nothing. I like the phone alot and really was so happy to receive it but all these problems and no one willing to actually help is just very dissapointing and frustrating
Anyone able to help why all of a sudden I can't receive my MMS Pictures? I have been given a telstra website to view them. Any ideas?
I'm currently waiting for Apple to unlock my iPhone 4S for use in Europe but can't see why it takes up to 72 hrs to achieve. Anyone had a similar experience?

Since updating to ios 5 my iPhone 4s has had problems updating and downloading apps. I have a 100 mb/s Internet connection with telstra and the apps take hours to download. My internet connection works fine with other apple devices as well as home computers. What can I do to fix this?
I have a telstra iPhone 4 on 4.3, and Slide to Unlock gets stuck once in a while. I have to hit Power again to lock the screen, then Slide to Unlock works. Is there a place to report bugs? This did not happen on 4.2.1 EVER to me.It's just a matter of time that I cant slide to answer a phone call and then I'll get really mad
When I answer it says it's on speaker but I can't hear a thing and the people on the other end can't hear me either. I can still text and everything but just not call. I've tried everything I can think of like updating it and I've even taken it into a telstra shop and replaced the sim but I still have the same problem. What an an I do to fix it?
I bought a unlocked iphone 4gs and put my telstra. Sim card in it and it wont send mms, what can I do?
telstra said my iphone4 is unlocked yet it doesnt accept my new sim. I'm in Indonesia and apple support here is not as good as in Australia. I've done everything telstra (and others) told me to do, but it is still says "no service". I have sync it, check for updates etc, but the message for network update never came up. Pls note that "telkomsel" has swapped my sim card twice and the sim card works with my sister's iphone. Can someone help me please? I tried contacting Apple, but unfortunately making international call is not an option at the moment as I cant make a call... Thanks in advance

Hi All, I purchased a NEW iphone 4s 64gb from telstra on contract for 24 months and after 1 day i noticed it has an issue where when i make a call i can not hear anything from the earpiece of the phone.I went to a telstra store and the exchanged the phone for a new one but the new phone has exactly the same issue.I contacted Apple and they are saying that if i go to the Apple store in Chadstone that they will give me a refurb as a replacement. Is this legally allowed considering i purchased a new iphone not a refurb? Shane
Purchased a new iphone 4s to help solve my reception issues that I had previously with my iPhone 4, but I still have reception issues. Anyone else out there that are having similar problems ? I am in Australia and I use the telstra Network - apparently this is the Best in this country. These reception issues are frustrating me to know end. Any advise or similar experiences.

Anyone else experiencing this?I have iPhone 4 (4.3.1 8G4, MC603X) and Kensington Charge and Sync dock. When charging I get No Service — if I remove it from the charger and stand the phone 1 inch from the charger, the signal comes on after about 5 seconds. Its the same if I use a standard Apple USB iPhone cable.Within seconds of placing the phone back in the charger, the No Service message returns.Id really like to keep my phone charging and still get calls when Im in my office.Curiously, when Im in the car, and the phone is on the cradle charger there, I keep signal; but the signal is stronger in the car than in my office.Does charging reduce reception on iPhone 4?Carrier is telstra in Australia. I received an anonymous call. Was told it was from telstra and to push button 1. With the i phone now hels away from my face (to view the keyboard) I pressed 1 and the camera sounded as if a photo had been taken. Then the call ended. Is it possible to remotely get a picture of the phone user? I think Ive been scammed.I asked for a 16GB black iPhone 4 from Telco Services, Australia. So I put my NextG sim card in it, and it seems like its going well. But whenever I try and activate the SIM, the phone says:Your selected cellular network is restricted. What?! You would think its locked to telstra! Then I look at the menu for Wallpaper, and it says (as the carrier in the picture) AT&T. Have I accidentally received an American AT&T phone, or is it my SIM? I have had my phone replace be Apple Iam with telstra and have not been able to MMS since I ported from Vodafone and got the new iphone. Has any one else had this problem. It work a few time to myself while at the Apple store but has not worked since iphone 4 iOS 4
I bought an iphone 4 outright from apple store in melbourne. After inserting a microsim from other carrier (Maxis Malaysia), Itunes show The sim card inserted does not seem to be supported. Ive tried everything and even restoring but no luck. Does anyone out there have the same problem? Anyone has any idea how to solve this problem? My friend who bought the same iphone 4 from Australia works fine after he called up telstra to do the unlocking whereas I bought the UNLOCKED outright from apple store is locked. Anyone has any idea how to solve this problem which APple themselves cannot solve, apart from jailbreaking as it will void the warranty?
Hey I have a iPhone 4 on a telstra capped plan. I have noticed recently that my safari history seems to be deleting itself automatically.. I think its happening at about midnight... I search a fair bit during the day and thought that maybe it clears itself when its using up too much memory but thought it would just delete the oldest... My history is completely disappearing... only bothers me cause I like it autofilling my sites when I type them in the navigation bar but once it clears the history it doesnt do this... iPhone 4 iOS 4 telstra
I have a new Iphone 4 connected to telstra in Australia. If i have to reboot the phone, when it starts up it asks for the Sim card PIN every time. Is there a setting to stop this? I should only have to do this once when I first buy and set up the phone shouldnt I? Iphone 4 iOS 4
Hi to all, I live in Australia & Japan and recently bought an unlocked Iphone 4 from the Apple online store. I waited 3 weeks to receive it as I expected and then took the phone to my carrier telstra to change my sim to a micro sim. When the phone booted up the ear speaker would not work and it turns out this brand new iPhone 4 has a hardware defect. This is were it gets stupid, after speaking to 4 individual people and being kept on hold for 1hour and 40 minutes I have been told that I will need to wait another 3 weeks to get a replacement. This is a wonderful display of complete customer disregard as I now have a micro sim that will not work in my other phone now and I live 6 hours from Melbourne. Simply put if I had bought it from a retailer I would have a new phone in my hand now but because I stupidly decided to purchase from Apple who honestly do not give a dam about me or my issue, I am just a number that does not matter. Shame on you Apple your online store is a joke and if you are thinking about buying an iPhone 4 from them DO NOT. Ipad iOS 4
I am having very frustrating tethering issues with my iphone…Iphone 3G 16GB version 3.1.3 (7E18)Windows Vista Home Basic Version 6.0Network 3TELSTRA, carrier telstra 5.23G enabled, Data Roaming enable, VPN not configured.I have been tethering via USB. I can usually connect to the net, but then it always drops the connection. Sometimes it will last half an hour but more often than not it dies after a couple of minutes. The speed when connected is fine. I have full bars of phone reception before and after losing the internet connection. After losing the connection, I go back to the iphone and turn tethering off, but the blue tethering bar on top of the screen will not go away (when I turn tethering off while I have a good connection, the blue bar goes away immediately). Turning tethering off and on at this stage does nothing.I have to turn the phone off, back on again, and then start again to regain a tethered internet connection, and then it starts all over again.I have turned push notifications and phone auto-lock OFF with no difference.I have google searched and found no solution. Any help solving this would be great, as I am getting close to “throwing my iphone at the wall” angry. Cheers iphone 3G iPhone OS 3.1.3
When is iphone 4 comeing out in stock at vodafone,3,optus and telstra Mac OS X (10.6.4)
I downloaded up dates yesterday and when it had finished I was locked out of my phone. When I finally got the use of it back by getting the PUK from telstra (my service provider) I had lost all my contacts. I reinstalled those only to find that Recent calls were no longer registering and all previous ones had been lost. Has anyone else had problems after updating? If so - any suggestins to fix my problem? HP Windows XP
Ok Guys; I thought I would make a post because I couldnt find the answer to my question here. Not Suprised!!I wanted to unlock my iphone from the telstra network in Australia. So I paid my $150 to telstra rip offs and they said that my request would be done in 5 hrs. They said to me; just sync your phone with itunes and all should be good. Well 24hrs later and still no unlock, so I call telstra and say has the order been completed and they say yes. But still no unlock even though I followed orders to sync with itunes. they put me through to Apple who basically tell me that they I would have to pay $30aus for them to help me but basically got the same story as telstra, a re-sync should fix your problem. Well lets just say that Apple dont know how to use there own product. Let me tell you what you actually have to do!After paying your telco to unlock you phone, they will send an order off the Apple to release the phone from there network by releasing the IMEI number of the phone. After Apple have done this you will need to connect your phone to itunes and this is the important part. DO A BACK UP OF YOUR PHONE.Then hit the restore button in the itunes summery page so you phone restores back to as new, meaning not from a backup. Once the restore is complete you will see on the screen Congratulations your iphone is now unlocked or words to that affect. then click next and it will ask you if you would like to restore again to your back up you did before you started the process. Click yes and wait for your phone to restore back to normal.Your done!!! Phone unlocked. Test by trying another telcos sim card.I just wanted to add that I was extremely disappointed with the lack of service and knowledge Apple provided. Basically all they wanted was my 30 bucks to give me very little service or information. Wow Apple, very poor form, you should screen your staff better. Imac iOS 4 telstra Iphone unlock
Hi I updated my iPhone - no iTunes updated my iPhone and since moving to OS4, the new upgrade has killed the WI-FI function on my phone. It now says No Wi-Fi where it once had the on-off switch. It should be noted that I have a telstra (Australia) issued iPhone from new which has not been altered/jail broken. Now I have tried everthing - reset the Network Settings twice and completed a full restore from iTunes to na availAny suggestions other than the obvious...ThanksDougal iPhone 3G iOS 4 Model MB496X, Version 4.0 (8A293)
I am sure that I have found a post on this topic but now it is beyond my meagre powers to locate it.My iphone goes through the motions of sending an email - it shows the progress bar advancing and it makes the swoosh sound. However, when I check the sent folder it isnt there - it is sitting in the drafts folder. This is really beginning to annoy me not least because of the recent firmware upgrade which did not fix the issue - it happens with 1 in 5 email and it means that I cannot rely on the iphone to complete my communications causing me to consider changing to a blackberry....with all its downsides! Hey everyone, I am new to the use of this Apple forum and new to Apple products altogether. I recently (several weeks ago) got myself an Iphone 3GS, so far I am very pleased with the device altogether although I have some queries perhaps some more experienced users might help me with.I have downloaded and installed the ebuddy app on my Iphone and also facebook, however I cannot seam to get push notifications to work on any of my apps. I am running OS 3.0.1 and have activated push notifictions in settings and also made sure its activated in the separate ebuddy tab under notifications. I have also opened ebuddy and activated notifications to remain signed in for 10 minutes after closing the app. However I am not receiving any notifications from any apps at allI also cannot send MMS from my Iphone, I am with telstra in queensland Australia. Hi Guys, When the software came out for MMSing, I downloaded, I installed, it worked. It worked for a while perfectly. No Hassels. However, for the last couple of weeks I can only get as far as preparing a MMS message, but it fails to send. I have restarted my phone, made sure MMS messaging was turned on, made sure that the My Number in Phone Settings was the correct number & it was. the only other thing I am unsure of is the MMS Network Settings under Cellular Data Settings. I havent changed anything. To be honest I only just found them... so maybe thats where the issue is.... then again maybe not!I have no idea why its just stopped working. I am with an Australian Service Provider, telstra. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Hewlett Packard Windows XP Laptop
Hello,I have just moved from Australia to the USA. I brought with me an unlocked iPhone (originally through telstra in Australia) and it now runs on AT&T. I have no issues with voice, voice mail, data and local SMS / text. But, I cant receive international SMS / text.I can send texts to Australia and they are received. However, when people in Australia reply to them they never get through.I have a Palm Centro on AT&T here and it receives texts fine from Australia. The iPhone sitting next to it doesnt. It is infuriating.I have spoken with AT&T and they believe everything should work.I have other friends on AT&T with iPhone and they are able to receive international SMS.Is it the iPhones problem? Is it AT&T? Is it the carrier in Australia (telstra)?HELP!!!Thanks,Andrew Woodward Mabbook Air, iMac, iPhone Mac OS X (10.5.7)
I had my iPhone turned off when i went to New Zealand for three days and when i turned it on when i got back no text messages came up for the previous three days nor missed calls. Previously when this happened to older phones you turn them on and be flooded with texts (maybe not missed calls), yet i have none and spoke to a friend of mine who said they definitely had sent me a text in that time. Is there a way to recover texts sent to my iPhone while it was turned off? My carrier is telstra. Thanks, toshiba
Hi there, I have been told there is new firmware out there. However, I am with telstra (an Australian Service Provider) and I have been told that if I upgrade my phone with the this firmware (I dont know much about frim wares and also dont know the exact name of this firmware. Can Someone advise me of this also) it will block my telstra Sim Card. Apparetly it has been tested and there are articles stating that its a no go for telstra users.I am hoping someone out there knows a little more than I do and can give me a bit of info regarding this. I am assuming its regarding this firmware: http://www.apple.com/iphone/softwareupdate/Thanks in advance! Hewlett Packard Windows XP Laptop

More and more frequently myself and my friend are getting missed calls, friends say they rang and it just rang out, no sound this end, last night i confirmed my phone was sitting right in front of me on the table, another friend rang on a land line his number is in my phone, my phone did not ring, vibrate or even light up. He rang again 3 minutes later and the phone worked perfectly. I have read all the forums, no it is not a carrier problem, doesnt matter if its telstra or optus same issue, no it is not a case of the phone being on silent, no it is not a corrupted ring tone, this appears to be very much an Apple Iphone Problem, can anyone advise do they have a fix for this very annoying problem. Iphone 3 g latest software and no other issues. By the way i use telstra my friend uses optus and we both have the same issues with lots of missed calls. LG Other OS
Hi All,Just thought I would ask your advice concerning repairs to my Iphone I requested from telstra. The phone is great and I love it, my only problem is that it no longer turns on anymore.I took it to the shop where I bought it on (yep I lined up to buy it the day they were released ), the really flashy telstra shop in the Bourke Street Mall. I got one of the techs on the front desk to look at it. He then took it to the head tech guy and he came back and said they would not repair or replace the phone under warranty. He said that it had a disturbed liquid submersion indicator at the bottom.I have never droped it into water the whole time I have owned it, but I do travel overseas to humid areas so that may have set off the submersion indicator to make the techs think that I dropped it into a puddle when I have never done that.Obviously, its a real pain, not having a phone for even a day, so I asked what my options were. I was told that the apple warranty is void and repair/exchange can not be carried out and the replacement cost for an 8gb for $670.The quotes above are from what is typed on my Service Repair Order.I asked was it possible to send the phone to Apple to be inspected, and they advised that it was not, and that my only option was to purchase a new phone, and that I had two options. Firstly, if I surrendered my old phone, a replacement would be issued for $670. Secondly, I could simply purchase another iphone outright for a cost of $726.I tool the second option, and have a brand new phone, although I am disapointed that I now have an almost new phone that simply stopped working that is now used as a paperweight.I tried everything to minimise the cost of getting a working iphone, and after talking to the lead tech, he then got the store manager to discuss my options.Brendan said he was the store manager, and eventually let me know his name after first stating I dont have to give you my name and eventually told me his employee number was 0238895.He spent over an hour checking the situation while I waited, but would not put anything in writing except some notes in the section related to the reported problem on the Service Repair Order. Is the advice that Brendan from telstra gave me correct, and was it necessary for me to purchase another brand new handset for $726?If anyone has any questions I can be contacted on 0418337189Kind regardsWayne B iphone 3G Other OS
Ok, here is the saga..one fine day my lovely phone lost the server ie. telstra. So i switched it off and on again and it came up with a picture of a cord going into itunes, and would only let me make emergency calls!so i plugged it into itunes and it wouldnt let me restore the phone- it said there was an error. it also wouldnt let me update it.after playing around with it, i decided to drop it back into telstra shop where i bought it for them to fix it, as it is only a couple of months old.they said apple wont fix my phone because it has a (very, very, very) small dent in it, even though its a software problem. so now my phone is back with me, and when i switch it on, it shows the cord going into itunes, this time with no emergency calls!please help me, the sim is working perfectly.i love my iphone, and dont want to pay apple 300 bucks to fix it if i can for free!thanks so muchEmma iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.5.4) Time Machine 500 GB, iphone 8g
