Hello. I have an i4. My calendar icon went missing after I respringed my i4 when I changed the theme. I tried with restore my home screen layout but that didn't work out. I restarted it without luck. Went on to look if I had misplaced it, but that was not the case. I have a jailbroken i4. Is there anyway I can get the calendar back? Thanks in advance.
I have an iphone 3g and my wifi wasn't working at all! The wifi button wasn't working like I couldn't press it at all, so my brother told me to erase my iphone. I backed it up and erased my iphone, it didn't work so he told me to jailbreak it because he thought maybe since my iphone was originally jailbroken it might just need it to be jailbroken again. I did that and when I looked at it again ALL apps were gone! There were no settings, safari, or app store nothing, it was just a blank page! (A blank page with, oddly enough, my same wallpaper still) When I tried to search up things on the iphone it was found, but it said it was not loaded at all. Help anyone??
Is anyone having issues with a lack of sensitivity of iphone 5 screen. I am having to touch items several times to select or scroll the screen, when it does scroll it "jumps" to catch up making it hard to operate smoothly. I Also notice that the screen appears to have shifted up slightly cutting off top of wi-fi and battery symbols. These symptoms don't always happen and I cant be sure I can show them to a Genius. This my 4th iphone, so my expectations are only what I have experienced with the others.
i use iphone 3gs. with ios 4.0 version,,,, it has been jailbroken.. is jailbreaking legal or not..and if i want to upgrade to newer version what are pros and cons?
My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart. I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode. However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore". On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9. I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac. Same results on both computers. She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children. This phone has not been jailbroken. Any help would be sooooo appreciated! Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.
I would like to password protect individual apps on my iphone to keep data private. All of the apps I have found seem to focus on password protecting images and video. I would like to protect documents rather than pictures. Is this possible? I have seen responses that indicate that the phone must be jailbroken which I don't want to do.
After dropping my iphone 5, I realized that the bottom volume button no longer works. I can get it to work, but only with a large amount of force. Before I take it into the Apple Store, I was wondering if there is any possible way I could fix this myself. The iphone is running iOS 6.1 (jailbroken, I'll restore it before I take it in).
Hello! This is my first time to enter the Apple Support Communities, and this is my first problem.Perhaps this video will explain everything: http://youtu.be/nKzWYuPNBSA I am using iphone 4 32gb GSM Model MC610LLIt is running iOS 6.1.3 It is NOT jailbroken. It will mess up my phone, anyway. Please help me! I'm short on cash right now so I can't afford a new phone! That's all
Under an exemption in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DCMA), jailbreaking the iphone has been kept legal through 2015. Given the aforementioned, along with the indisputable fact that "tweaks" exist, allowing jailbroken devices to build upon Apple technology, thereby enhancing the users experience... Why does Apple continue to stand in the way by providing roadblocks to what has been deemed legal?
Hi,My iphone 4 is stuck in recovery mode after trying to update to latest iOS, not realising it had been jailbroken (eBay purchase), therefore do not have a previous iOS to restore from, could do with as many suggestions or help as possible PLEASE....?
My iphone toolbar is missing the part with the carrier, signal strength, and wifi signal. What do I do?Btw i've never jailbroken it. iphone 5, latest os (6.1.3 i think)
M y iphone 4S was jailbroken and I restored and backed up the phone, now I can't make phone calls or texts or charge it. Is that something that I should tell my telephone company about or how can I fix the problem?
Hi, My iphone 4 was purchased on a contract basis from Vodacom (South Africa) in August 2011, during January this year my phone kept restarting by itself. It eventually got worse that I had to use my Mophie Juicepack in order for my phone to operate, but my phone ocassionaly would startup and there would be No Service and the Wi-fi switch was grey.Doing a restart with the Power & Home button has not worked nor has a fresh new restore of iOS 6.1.3 and I have reset the phone to factory default settings including erasing all existing data & media etc. My warranty has expired thus I sent my iphone 4 for a battery replacement from an authorised Apple agent here in South Africa.Thinking it would solve my problem...it did not. My phone still restarts by itself and occasionally does not even power ON unless I plug it in via the USB charger which doesn't help much because there would be No Service and the Wi-fi switch was grey. I have never dropped my iphone and it has no exterior damage at all nor has it ever been jailbroken. Please suggest any solutions, I have tried every option possible from forums etc.
There are four possible causes of the activation error: The activation server is unavailable. Rare, but it happens. Usually fixed within minutes. Your antivirus or firewall (or your router's firewall) is blocking access to the domain gs.apple.com on ports 80 and 443. Your phone is jailbroken. Your phone isn't jailbroken, but the computer you are connected to during the restore or update was used to hack or jailbreak some other iOS device, and its network database was corrupted in the process. Perhaps this will provide you some clues as to how to proceed. If your iphone has not been jailbroken, Apple has some troubleshooting suggestions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3424?viewlocale=en_US If your iphone has been jailbroken, you're on your own. We can provide no assistance for jailbroken devices in these forums. Regards. (part of the above information quoted with gratitude from Lawrence Finch)

Is there any antivirus is applicable for iphone 4s if it is jailbroken.
Ok I first noticed this last night when I left my apartments Wi-Fi area, my phone was jailbroken on 6.1 so I thought it might have been a recent update in cydia that caused it, but to make sure, I first tried rebooting my phone, nothing, reset the network settings, nada, then I pulled the sim card and reinstalled it, still nothing, even restoring as a new phone, but still not data or 4G/LTE icon, anyone else have this issue?
Can you help me quick?
my friend says that if you restore it apple would never find out but i think that they still could find out which is why i am asking and no my device is not jailbroken and i dont want it to be either thanks
Im a teenager and my mum tells me she went to a meeting where a man wnet on about viruses on smartphones and she said he even mentioned iphones and aparently it was in the news? i googled it and just pointless questions came up -_- My question is...do iphones have viruses? btw im not talking about jailbroken iphones cause there a whole other story! And if so? i thought apple scan and make sure they dont have before there put on the App store? I looked into making apps ages ago because my friend wanted to try make one cause he thinks its so easy, but theres alot of work involved with apple so i thought (trusting in apple cause we pay them so much,) that they would protect us properly! But do they? and if not? is it a good idea to look into an anti virus app?
there's a common problem with iphones where if dirt gets into the connectors, it thinks it is docked therefore making it seem like no sound is coming out quickest and easiest way to test this is simply, connect it to your pc with the connector and you will see once docked, sound returns ever since i upgraded to 6.1.2 today my iphone 4s has lost all sound. Can't play music, games, nothing. All the traditional fixes of the "iphone no sound" problem or the "it thinks its docked" problem do not work. CONNECTING THE iphone TO THE PC does not even restore sound.. the only way to hear sound is thru the headphones Apple what have you done??? No changes were made to my iphone except for this stupid upgrade. It's not jailbroken. I haven't had problems with it whatsoever. Fix it shoddy QA you guys are doing what gives this is a widespread problem. ANYONE OUT THERE MANAGED TO GET THEIR SOUND BACK after 6.1.2 upgrade?? if so, what did you do? DO NOT RESET YOUR PHONE. It does nothing. DO NOT RESTORE YOUR PHONE FROM BACKUP. It does nothing. <Edited by Host>
How can I tell if my iphone has been hacked or is it even possible it's not jailbroken
Hav you jailbroken your iphone?
Hi there I’m experiencing issues with my iphone 4 – it seems to be searching all the time and does not reflect my service provider I did some research and it seems that this is a software issueAfter a while my iphone brings up an error that says I need to restore, however my restore is never successful and this could be due to many issues It currently has ios 6.1 and I’m restoring to ios 6.1.2 This device has been jailbroken beforeI’ve tried edit of the host fileTried tiny umbrellaTried redsnow Nothing works Could someone please assist?
This is getting very old. Each and every software update I have done since buying my iphone 4s about 10 months ago has resulted in "iphone could not be updated. an error occurred" Today's attempt to update to 6.1.1 resulted in this message with (6) as the code (past update fails have resulted in other codes). My phone is now stuck with a black screen with the picture of the usb plug with an arrow pointed to iTunes (recovery mode). I love my iphone, but the love is growing dim, since eery single iOS update has caused a similar error, each time requiring a completely reset of the phone, setup as new, restore - which get my apps back, but resets all settings (including email accounts). Yes, I synced the phone prior to trying to update. At this point, my apparent only avenue is yet another "restore" - a royal pain, and what should be totally unnecessary for a tiny incremental update (iOS 6.1 to 6.11). And yes, I was experiencing what I believe was the issue this update was to correct - cellular data issues (and actually - intermittent WiFi issues as well). What ever happened to Apple... it just works? And no, this iphone has never been jailbroken (I have been asked). Next time there is an update available - maybe I should head to the Apple Store and hand it to a "genius" an tell him to update it...
I purchased a white iphone 5 less than a month ago. Last night while at work, i received a text message. When I went to answer the text, my screen would not turn on. I can slide the phone open and I can hear the locking soud when I lock it. Only issue is the screen will not turn on. Any ideas on what is going on?? Phone has never been jailbroken, never been dropped, and has been in an otter box since I purchased it.
I have recently purchased an unloacked iPhone4. Since I didnt have a micro sim I tried to activate it through wi-fi and itunes but failed all the times with an error message " We are unable to continue with the activation of your phone. pLease try again later or contact customer care" in both wifi or itunes window. Is it necessary to have a sim card inserted in the phone to activate?Or was I cheated by the retailer by getting an iphone from a different country or a jailbroken piece?
I own an iphone 5, an iphone 4s and an iPad 2. They are all not jailbroken and are all running on ios 6.0.1 While my iphone 4s and iPad 2 have no problem updating existing apps or installing new apps, my iphone 5 won't update/install apps all !! To be fair, about 2 week ago, all my iphone 5 update/install won't work but after a day or two, they started downloading. But now, my iphone 5 updates and installations have been stalled for a week. What is happening ? Can anybody please help ? Thanks.
My iphone 4 has locked after an attempt to update. The phone screen is now displaying the i tunes and usb cable symbols.
I believe my friends iphone 5 has been jailbroken. Is there any way to find out if or how? I was texting them and another person asked a question from the conversation. But they were not part of the original conversation. Some how the phone is being monitored and we can't figure out how to stop it. The third person does have access to the phone so it could have been taken.
I am in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and I got an iphone 4 GSM from my friend, which I plan to use if my iphone 4S dies and I need a loaner. The iphone 4 GSM is not jailbroken and it's locked to Telus Mobility in Canada. The iphone is running iOS 6.1.However, the home button on the iphone 4 sticks almost every time I use it (closing running applications is a real pain since most of the time the iphone doesn't detect that I've pressed the home button twice), and the phone occasionally resets itself for no reason. I didn't get a receipt for the iphone 4 when my friend gave it to me and I don't have any sort of warranty for it.Can I still get it fixed by Apple? Should I get it fixed by Apple or get a third party to look into it?
My 4s (Non jailbroken) is having the following issues:1) unable to access email. Tried going into settings and deleting email accounts, I am unable to access the mail setting just kept bouncing me out2) Unable to access photos3) Unable to access iCloud. Tried changing the settings and bounces me out.4) Power cycles every several minutes. This week I updated some of the aps on my phone and that is when it all started. I was on the phone with tech support (Verizon) they determined that it was the battery and sent a new phone out. Restored the new phone and have the same problem. Is there a work around to fix these problems?
my iphone has many porblems the middle button doesnt work and the phone heats up to the point that it hurt my hand/ ears and apple id has expired dont have money to get a new phone its not jailbroken or anything locked to fidio
I double clicked the home button and deleted all the running apps but that doesn't help. I haven't jailbroken my phone or anything either.
I tried to restore my jailbroken phone and now it is frozen on a screen that shows a cord connecting to itunes. when i connect to itunes it gives me an error. what can i do?
Hi, today I did an update through iTunes to latest firmware and suddenly my Sim is not working..I reset my phone all contents and after initial setup where I have to choose WIFI, it says Sim not Valid. This is very stressful. I have bought a facotry unlocked phone from Canada,I have reset the phone many times before and it worked fine so it's not jailbroken or anything. I am currently living in Botswana and it was working perfectly fine until yesterdayand suddenly from today after the ios 6 update it says sim not valid... what could be the problem?i cant even get through the initial very first welcome page because it says sim not valid. please help methank you.
My iphone was working perfectly at 17:00 but by 18:00 the left side of my screen wasnt working,I done a reset and updated to 6.0.1, and now part of it has come back but i now cannot open the first or third application on the left and i now have to hold down my symbols key until i type the first symbol. Any suggestions, it isn't covered by apple warrenty but I can pay to get it fixed if need be, but would like to avoid that, nearest apple store is about 25 miles away

Hello everyone! I'm sorry if this may sound extremely stupid, but I'm not very good with the whole Apple hardware, and what makes it tick. I had read something about jailbroken iPhones and hacking viruses, and just before I had read that, I had encountered someone on Tumblr (through Safari, not the Tumblr application, if there is one...I don't personally have an account, but I browse the site) who had suffered some kind of hacking virus. I panicked a little, wondering if there was a possibility the virus from their blog could effect my iphone, and a few searches on Safari later, I then panicked about whether my iphone could possibly be jailbroken. I'm not looking for any websites to check whether the phone is jailbroken or not, (it probably isn't), and I'm not looking to jailbreak it, but I've recieved so much help from these communities I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask this silly question. I've heard a lot about the whole loading screen (when you first turn the phone on and the apple logo with the little crease through the apple shows up) being different, etc, and a whole slew of others. Everything looks normal....the loading screen is black with the apple logo and crack/crease/curved line...whatever you wish to call it, but it won't stop me from being paranoid, haha. Could anyone help? Just how could I tell without downloading or messing with anything on my phone or computer?
I bought a brand new iphone 4s from AT&T. I want to have it factory unlocked without being jailbroken. How do I do it?
Was it jailbroken or otherwise "unlocked" before you got the original carrier to unlock it?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2246056/Woman-takes-picture-mobile-phone -stolen-nightclub-unwittingly-sends-owner.html A woman has unwittingly taken a picture of herself on a stolen iphone that has then been sent to its rightful owner. With a downloaded app, the owner was able to take a photo of the woman as she tried to unlock the +$400 (£319) mobile phone, as well as map the phone's location after it was stolen from the Coalition nightclub in Brighton, East Sussex earlier this month. The owner, armed with the information and the photo emailed to them by the app, called Sussex Police. The dark-haired woman appeared to be sitting in a car as she tried to access the white iphone 4. Police said they do not know whether the woman pictured was responsible for the theft but they appealed for her or anyone who recognises her to contact them. Pc Gavin Crute, of Sussex Police, said: ‘The owner of the camera has a rather cool app that takes a picture of anyone who tries to unlock it, maps their current location and then sends all the info back to the owner in an email. ‘We know where and when the photo was taken and it appears to be in a vehicle with quite a large sunroof. ‘We don't know that the woman is the person who stole the camera, but she obviously has had some connection with it in the meantime and I'd like to speak to her about it.’ Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101. There are various iphone apps that track stolen iPhones. It is thought that the app used was iGotYa which is activated when a wrong passcode is entered into the phone keypad. iGotYa is a third-party app, made by Cyndia, which is not available in the official Apple store. It is an alternative to Apple's free Find My iphone software, which shows a stolen phone's approximate location on a map but does not take a picture of its user. Device Locator costs $2.99 (£1.86) allows the phone owner to track the location of a misplaced iphone and take a photo which is then sent to a website where the photo can be viewed. This app also allows the user to trigger an audible alarm on the phone. GadgetTrak costs $3.99 (£2.48) can generate location reports, send discreet messages to the device and also take a photo of the thief. The latest statistics reveal 170 iPhones are stolen every day in London, many of them from pedestrians targeted by muggers on bicycles. The wife of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason recently said she is now too scared to use her phone in public after she was mugged while walking her dogs. Annette Mason had her iphone snatched from her grasp by a bike-riding hoodie as she was trying to send a text. Okay just who do I gotta convince at Apple to get them to add this to the App Store? Or at least get the feature where a picture, location, date & time is sent back to my email whenever someone enters in the wrong password? I just heard about this story today & taught that's an incredibly beneficial feature to have. Now my iPhones not jailbroken and I really have no interest in jailbreaking so I can't get this app but I would vary much like to see this added to Find My iphone.
I have an original (not jailbroken) iphone 4 with IOs 4.3.5.I'm happy with the config on the phone. I have a couple of apps that are in the app store that keep popping up for updates. If I update them, I won't be able to use them as they are updates for IOs 5 above. Is there a way to stop these from asking for updates? I have gone into the settings and turned one of the items off, but it still shows. Is there an app for this to hide updates that I want to stop?
I've tried restoring it to factory settings, I've already went through the troubleshoot section - nothing works! My sim card works on other phones perfectly fine (T-Mobile but it says EE).. What should I do? I've tried resetting everything.I've tried repositioning the sim card.I've tried putting the T-Mobile sim card into another phone and it works.I've done a factory restore by putting it into the DFU settings and then restoring it via itunes. When I try to call from the iphone, it goes *BEEP BEEP BEEP* Call Ended. When someone tries to call my iphone, it goes "I'm sorry, calls are currently not being connected to this number." When someone sends a text to the iphone, the iphone doesn't receive it. It is on IOS 6.0.1. Not jailbroken or unlocked. It's with T-Mobile. This is my White iphone 4 16gb. The T-Mobile sim card works on other phones, but not on the iphone. The iphone also shows a full 5 bar connection. What's going on?? How can I fix this?? Can somebody please help me?? =/
I have an iphone 3G, that when I purchased it (used) came jailbroken. FINALLY someone came out with a way to remove the version I had so I could reset the phone and restore it. Afterwhich I was able to uodate it to the current iOS for the 3G, 4.2.1 and runs fine. However, after I clicked update for my apps, half no longer worked nor would they install because not compatible with this version. I grabbed the old *.ipa files from the recycle bin (running Win7) and installed them and seems fine again. My question is... how do I tell iTunes to NOT recommend updates, that don't work on my phone. I thought iTunes would have done that automatically, and for years it's never been an issue. Yesterday I updated iTunes to the most current version, then reset the phone so... not certain if an issue with the phone or a setting in the newer iTunes. In any case, recommending an update, then updating to a version not compatible with my phone, doesn't seem to make sense. Is there a setting somewhere? Thanks
Dear. I bought an iphone from ebay. it come with 5.0.1 ios jailbroken. So I attepmt to restore it to delete jailbreak and to update to latest software which is 6.0.1. I turn of the iphone and put it in DFU mode. then plug in in itunes. it said that iphone has been detected. so I start restore using frimware I already downloaded. It's start extract the file then he stuck on verfying with apple store. screen start with just black screen and nothing seen after an error show 1602. I plug off iphone and get out from dfu mode. it's start with apple logo and stuck on it. when i tried to shut down the iphone it wont work till I hold power and home button for a couples sec. even with this way I should do it several times because iphone shutdown with black screen then it's start again. any suggestion about what should i do ?
Is your phone/iPod jailbroken? If not, all you can do is restore. I wouldn't restore from a backup, though, start fresh. If you are jailbroken, There a couple things that could have caused it. Post here again if you are.
