IOS 6.1 upgrade and docking station iPhone 4S

Upgraded to IOS 6.1 yesterday and my iPhone will not charge with a sony radio with docking station. It still plays the music but just will not charge. Charges fine with the USB charger. Any clues?

I am finding it all a little confusing.  I like the functionality of the airport express but wonder if the apple tv device allows the same with music and also adds the option to display on the tv? I currently use an ethernet connection to link my sony internet tv to my broadband.  I watch iplayer and lovefilm on the TV.  I want to be able to use Airplay to link my itunes via my iphone/ipod or ipad to the AV system.  I have phone connections and optical connections on my AV system but not ethernet or Airplay. Can I use the apple TV to act as both the video display, keep my options to watch internet TV but also added options around the Apple TV AND with the same device connect the optical link to my AV system and enjoy itunes music? Thanks

Iphone 5 and Car audio head units with 30 pin conn.

I know apple has come out with the ligthning to HDMI but is there anything coming that will allow lighting to 30 pin for video out and the older composite cables? My new sony head unit is now rendered useless due too apple's wisdom. The unit is only 2 months old. Now can't use my MotionX or Netflix on the unit. Obviously Netflix is not that much of an issue but losing my GPS ability *****. Had an iphone 5 and returned it to get my 4 back. It is a shame that i have to downgrade to get more abilities. At least abilities I use. Makes me want to throw all the apple stuff I have bought in the past 8 years in the garbage!!!! I know change is necessary, and could stomach it better if I hadn't just bought that head unit. Did any of the changes apple made to the phone really require excluding this? I am puzzled. Seems as though one would want their product to do more.

Lightning cableadapter availability iPhone 5

Why did someone at Apple decide that its OK to ship out the iPhone 5 without having ANY additional lightning cables available on the market?  Also, why is there a TOTAL lack of car chargers available for the iPhone 5?  I know that I can use the included lightning to USB cable in the car with a cigarette lighter to USB adapter, but this is ridiculous. I have multiple 30 pin cables for my iPhone 4 and "New iPad".  It comes in handy to be able to leave one at work, one at home, and carry one with me in my laptop case.  Not to mention, on a recent hotel stay, the room had a sony alarm clock/iPod dock that came in very handy.  As of now, I have to wait at least another week for 30 pin to lightning adapters to become available.  This is VERY annoying.  If you were going to change the charger/data cable connector, why not just go with MicroUSB and allow us to have car chargers and spare data cables available from day one. I got in on the Verizon pre-orders around noon on the first day, so I should be getting my iPhone 5 tomorrow if all goes well.  I am a bit annoyed that I won't have all of the accessories I would like when I get the phone.  A little more forethought before the next major change like this would be GREATLY appreciated. Mike H.Hfaze

Does anybody have the same device and issue as mine?I'm using iPhone 4S and sony bluetooth earphone XBA-BT75. They were a perfect pairing in iOS 5.But I noticed irregular music jittering or something as soon as I updated to iOS 6.It's interrupted like bluetooth 2.1 or lower. I can't even hear the whole one song comfortably!Do I have to sit down calmly and put the iPhone right beside my receiver?(XBA-BT75 could receive without cut-off through a fire front door in iOS 5.)If this issue is caused by bluetooth 4.0 of iOS 6, please give us a solution. The device supports bluetooth 3.0.Of course I'll also report this problem to sony. I never go anywhere without music...Please don't frustrate me any more, Apple.   P.S.It's only my opinion but it seems to happen more often when Wi-Fi is activated.

Living in Indonesia, I bought an iPhone 4 from an official retailer, incl a microSIM card. The iPhoe is (officially and legally) unlocked, and when going to holidays I usually buy local prepaid cards and insert them without problems. Being abroad, I lost my original Indonesian SIM card, and after coming back home, I went to my retail store and got a new one (with the same number). But now, every time I insert the new card, the message "fixed number dialing is activated" appears on the screen, and the iPhone shows no connectivity to any network or provider. Just out of curiosity, I put the new card into another phone (sony Ericson) - and it worked! I put another SIMcard into my iPhone - it worked. So, what is the problem? And what is the solution?

RSAP iPhone 4S

does anyone know if Apple intends to offer RSAP on I Phone, I sent them an e.mail to Apple some weeks ago (please see below), which they hav'nt even clicked the read receipt. It amazes me that such a forward thinking company can be so backward on what appears to be a simple issue, and a simple softwear upgrade. I've been looking at other phone makers Nokia and Samsung and whilst Nokia provide this option on their phones, Samsung did remove this option on the Galaxey S3 when they upgraded the OS from Ginger Bread to Ice Cream Sandwich, BUT WERE QUICK TO REACT WHEN THERE CUSTOMERS COMPLAINED  ABOUT THE LOST FACILITY (Shouting now done). And have now issued a softwear upgrade for this. Come on Apple please give you customers want they want from a phone, intoday's business market. Whilst i accept this is not for everyone but for some of us who need this option in our cars for business would be a big step forward after all it's only upgrading the bluetooth. For those who may be intrested please see the mail sent to Apple's   Dear Mr Cook  I wanted to drop a line to you or your team in Apple with regards to a function that Isn’t offered by Apple on the Iphone which is known as SAP (Sim Access Profile) and RSAP (Remote Sim Access Profile). Firstly please excuse me if you or any of your team understand,  but this function is part of  Bluetooth and allows the car system to download your contacts and also receive and send SMS. It also puts the phone in standby allowing greater battery life.   Could you advise me if this is something Apple would consider with a software upgrade which would be good in my business as I operate a Limo Company in the UK.  There are a number of other mobile phone companies such as Nokia HTC  and I think sony to name a few. Bluetooth on iPhone 4s won't pair with ipad 2

I have a iPhone 4s and just bought a ipad2. They won't pair and I can get android phones to pair with the ipad2 with no problems. I have done a lot of research and doesn't seem to be a fix for it yet. I don't want to jailbreak either items. Will apple ever get this Bluetooth or IOS problem fixed?oh but the IPhone pairs with my sony Xploid stereo in my car.

Accidentally deleted photos app icon from my iPhone 4s.

I've read the previous threads on this topic but none quite fit the bill. I need to re-install the Photos icon, which has disappeared.This happened while I was holding my phone but not paying attention; when I looked again the icons were all shaking. I don't know how the icon disappeared because the factory defaults don't offer a delete option, but the icon definately disappeared at that time.The app itself is still there and, because it was running when I deleted the icon, I can currently still access it by double clicking the main button, where app (and icon) is still accessible there at the bottom of the screen. But this is not convenient for general usage, and if I hard close the app from there then I will have no way to open the Photos app.I can't re-download the app because it is a factory default app and not available anywhere (and as such shouldnt be deletable!).The icon isnt hiding anywhere amongst my subfolders, and I've checked for restrictions but there arent any.Restetting the home screen layout to factory defaults presumably means I  will lose all the other app icons I have, and their sub folders etc,  which I dont want to do either.I have now backed up my phone and all my photos etc, but if I restore my phone from a previous backup, I will lose the data and messages I've acquired isince then.All I want to do is re-install the icon and make sure it links to the photos app that is still installed - surley that can't be so hard? All help appreciated. I don't have a Mac and run Windows 7 on a sony VAIO. All versions of iTunes and IoS are up to date. Patrick

No message or ring tone when iPhone 4 on charge

Hi all, My wife has an iPhone 4 with which we've been having an issue. If it'd either plugged into Apple charger or a sony digitasl radio/dock, whilst charging there are no message tones activated if a message is received. Checked and there's nothing in any settings to indicate that it's a turn on/off feature. Last software update was about a week and a half ago, but this has been happening for 3 - 4 months, through a few updates now.  Anyone have any ideas? She doesn't want to do a restore, as it takes forever to get it back to the way she wants it. Seems like it shouldn't be that hard anyway, there's no reason it shouldn't work right just as it is. Cheers.

update: i have tried everything as advised over the net. it seems that the last option for me it go to an apple store. but then again, i have been seeing this iphone 4 glitch topics as old as 2010. is mac doing something about it? iphone 4s is my first non sony ericsson phone (been using se since 2005) and with the product pull outs i have chosen iphone over samsung s2 and this is what i get. as much as possible i don't want to have my phone replaced. i bought my 4s last feb 19 and i can't believe this is happening!!!!

No headphoneheadset support for Facetime iPhone 4

Has anyone else noticed or found it a problem that you cant use Facetime with a headset. I use sony HBH IS-800 bluetooth headset and realised the problem today as I used facetime on the bus, (Parked up and noticed I had wifi) where I couldnt use the loudspeaker.Hopefully Apple will fix this as it will become more of an issue when available on 3g, as we will use it on the move a lot more.Anyone else have similar problem or am I missing something? iTunes will not recognize iPhone 4 at all

I looked through this forum and havent seen this one yet: I got my iPhone 4 today and plugged it in to my Windows XP machine, but iTunes (which I upgraded to the latest version) will not even recognize it. It still recognizes my iPhone 3 with no problem. I have reinstalled iTunes (repair mode, havent tried completely removing iTunes and reinstalling yet as I ran out of time before work) and rebooted the pc a few times, but the phone still will not show up in iTunes. When I plug it in, Windows detects it. And the phone itself lights up and gives me the screen telling me to connect it to iTunes. Anyone have any ideas?? sony Vaio Laptop Windows XP

Last Week (25th Feb 2011) I was in car with my friend.When I received the incoming call from my iPhone 4G. At conversation Suddenly the phone became very hot at bottom area and smoke came from charging hole.I got afraid. After 1-2 Minutes Phone has dead.I went to nearest service center. Technician reported that, Battery was burned in yourphone and battery connecter was damaged from mother board. So, Replace battery as soon as possible.The Phone has been purchased in singapore at Jan 2011. (Factory Unlocked Phone).As phone is in dead. So, I cannot see the IMEI, Model, Serial Numbers. Battery Life Draining Suddenly-no push no WIFI no notifications etc. iPhone 4

Just wondering if anyone has the same problem and have a solution:I charged my phone on Wednesday, and today its down to 45% with minimal use - 1.5 hrs of talk time and thats about it.I dont have email account set up on the phone, so dont think its that problem. I turned off Wifi, I didnt install any new apps. I turned off all the things draining battery (those were normally always off) i.e. Notifications were off, Brightness set to 40-50%, no 3G/cellular data, Location devices were off, bluetooth off etc. Basically all the extra stuff were turned off.I restarted the phone a couple of times, but the problem still persist - it drains about 1% per hour in standby mode. Before, my phone would drain about 1%-2% in probably 7 hours in standby mode. Last night I tested the problem by also turning off all apps running in multitasking bar, before this sudden problem, Ill wake up with minimal drainage - maybe 1-2%. This morning, the drainage was 10%.I have the latest iOS. So not exactly sure what to do at this point? My phone was pretty new - bought it Christmas time. sony Vaio SP3

Very Slow WiFi Connection on iPhone 4 4.2.1

Hi everybody,I am facing an annoying problem with my iPhone 4 concerning the wifi.I am running on iOS 4.2.1 , and I have two routers, one is ZyXEL P-660W-T1 v3 and the other is NETGEAR DG834PN; both on latest firmwares. My internet connection speed is 8 mbps.On both of my routers everything loads painfully slow using the iPhone. I can say that the youtube barely works, some websites load on safari with low speed but some takes forever to load.I have two sony Vaio laptops connected, one HTC Desire HD, one Nokia 5800 and one Nokia n95. All work flawlessly with both the routers; I mean I only have problems with the iPhone.This was my 5th day surfing on the internet to find a solution. I tried several different scenarios which I am going to name below.1. I reset my iPhones network setting.2. Tried all 13 channels on the routers.3. Changed router mode from b&g to g only and Auto modes (good to mention when I first changed the mode from b&g to g only the phone was performing just intact; unfortunately it lasted for about a day or so, suddenly the extreme slow wifi was present again).4. I reset the router, set it up again.5. Enabled/Disable SSID broadcasting.6. Tried all the encryption options.7. Disabled encryption.8. Used MAC address filtering.9. Tried OpenDNS (208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220)10. Tried GoogleDNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4)11.On the device, I changed DHCP to Static via entering the values manually.12. Finally tried combinations of the solutions mentioned atop.Testing the iPhone side by side with the HTC Desire HD, iPhone loads ~10~20 times slower depending on the websites. Youtube? HTC handles with just one tap, but the iPhone just get stuck.However today, using my friends not wellknown router (INCA) the iPhone was performing nice and smooth both on safari and youtube; thus i checked his modems settings, nothing different!I see huge number of people on the internet claiming the same problem, but none of the suggested solutions work for me. Besides, some of the people have replaced their devices from the app stores already; some of them claim the problem is vanished with the new device; however some say it is still present there. I think this is exact the same problem that Steve Jobs was facing during the unveiling of the iPhone 4; I mean even on 4.2.1 this bug is still present there, I do not know, maybe the drivers on the device have to be altered in the new iOS to make it compatible with all the routers, or maybe ...?!It would be so nice of you to help me handle this frustrating problem. sony Vaio iOS 4 Windows 7

S Free iPhone3G Locked to O2

Got a new iPhone3G as an applecare replacement last week. Was very impressed with the service. My old iPhone was 20 months old, and it was just the wifi that stopped working.Anyway, the lady on the phone said that the phone would be delivered direct from apple, and would be unlocked. 3 days later, a UPS man at the door gave me my new iPhone, and took the old one away. Now for the tricky bit, I activated the iPhone using my O2 sim, and it worked perfectly. But now that Im not tied to O2, I decided to try another network without signing a fresh 18 month contract. Filled in the forms, yes its fine, this iPhone isnt locked, etc, new carrier, same number, no contract. 2 days later my O2 sim stops working, great, out with that and in with the THREE sim. The guy in the shop said it should be fine in an unlocked iPhone, and would just need to update carrier settings. But no.. the iPhone is LOCKED to O2. Reading on here, it seems that the iPhones automatically LOCK to whatever network it is activated with.. is this right? How can I unlock it? How can you allow a network provider to hijack a phone like this? Now Ive a brand new usless iPhone.. sorry, iPod touch - fat version. And have to use a 3 year old sony ericsson to get me by in the short term.And before someone suggests it, Im not jailbreaking my phone, didnt do it with the first one, not doing it with this one.Ill give it a week looking for a fix before I go and buy an android phone. iPhone 4 replacement arrived-they never collected old one

Hello,Over two months ago, I got an iPhone 4.The speaker on the phone would not work, so, within a week of buying it, I arranged for a replacement iPhone to be sent to me by Apple.However, I expected the courier to collect the old, broken iPhone from me at the time of delivery of the new replacement. upgraded from vista to windows 7 not seeing music list iPhone

I upgraded from vista to windows 7. When I sync my iPhone 4 I am not seeing my music listed nor my apps in the list. I had backed up my entire computer to my external hard drive and copied everything over to iTunes. But not showing up in any lists when I connect my phone???? Any ideas? sony Vaio Windows 7 32 bit

Charging Not Supported With This Accessory HELP iPhone 3G

I checked this error message and the posts here and all said to clean out the docking area with a toothpick. I did this and I can at least sync but I cant get it to take any charge into the battery.I started to get the error message charging is not supported with this accessory when I put my Iphone into a sony ihome. When I woke up this morning it would not charge no matter what. I have tried to restore the software, brush the docking port, nothing seems to work. Iphone iOS 4

Find My iPhone locator

at first it was working nicely, but when a connect to another wifi spot, i cant locate my iphone... error was, when i got home i tried to locate my phone but the locator finds it on that spot where i came from, the next day, there was no location available... until now... hope someone can help me.. sony vaio Windows 7 vpccw
