Apple recently replaced my broken iPhone 4s with a new one. Everything was great, the backup on my computer worked and I had all mystuff from the day before it was replaced. However, when i plugged it in to add a few new songs, they didn't sync. In fact, my itunes never finshes a sync anymore, it just stops here for no reason. Any suggestions?
My girlfriend recently broke her iPhone 4 and had to get a new phone -- ever since she got a new phone, my iPhone 4S is missing hundreds of texts from her. The last text my phone shows from her is from over two months ago. At first I thought that only the iMessages were missing, but we have exchanged hundreds of SMS and iMessages in the last few months and they are all missing. After she broke her phone there were a few days she texted me via iMessages on her iMac -- and those texts are all missing too, iMessages on her computer is also totally messed up. I can understand why she would be missing a few messages on her new phone since she hasn't backed her phone up in a few weeks, and using iMessages between multiple devices is still glitchty -- but why did my girlfriend getting a new phone cause hundreds of texts to be deleted off of my phone? Currently running iOS 4.1.2 on iPhone 4S
I'd get a phone replacement and has been using it more than a month without restoring the previous data, hence once I'd connected to my computer intended to restore the previous data (photos, notes.& etc) ended up missing all my current data, what to do to rescue the missing data as I'm desperate on it, appreciate for any kindest help and advises, thanks.
Can someone please help me. I have a 32gb iPhone 5 on the latest OS and it would not let me sync as it said I did not have enough space. I only have 1750 songs on my iphone but it's showing that they are taking up 21.6gb. That doesn't seem right! HELP

Jakarta, 14 June 2013On Mac OS : 10.7.5 (Lion)On iTunes : 11.0.4Difficulty : intermediate - hard Assuming you know basic Ctrl+Click and Option+Drag... Full correct steps should be like this : 1) Select a favourite song in iTunes program to be made into Ringtone...-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------2) "Get Info" on that song name and make any 0:30 seconds portion of that song.... (specify "Start" & "Stop" time - under "Options" – to any 30-seconds duration and click OK)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file...(when done iTunes will create a Chime)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------4) to locate the created .m4a file easily, Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Show in Finder" from the pop-up list...(iTunes will automatically point the folder location of the original .mp3 & the newly created .m4a files... keep this window open for later...)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------5) change the .m4a file to .m4r as suggested... (rename to whatever you like but you must change the extension to .m4r)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------6) At this point, the m4r(original) file isn't a "Ringtone" file yet... which we'll need to change now...) (check under "Get Info" > "Kind" : it's still "Apple MPEG-4 Audio")...1st by dragging that newly changed .m4r(ori) file to somewhere out of that same default folder it was created by iTunes... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------{ this is where most confusions occur, take note here, it gets rather complicated }-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------7) Once it's outside of that folder, Double Click the m4r(ori) file and iTunes will play...(u can stop it immediately...) this is just to let iTunes automatically convert that m4r(ori) file into a new duplicate & places it inside the initial default folder where the original .mp3 file is kept... we kept the window open previously, remember? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------8) Locate that duplicate .m4r(new & true) file, in that same .mp3 folder and now DUPLICATE-Drag (press Option while dragging to get the "+" sign) it to the "TONES" folder in your default apple folder structure. (check under "Get Info", this .m4r(new) File's "Kind" should be "Ringtone")//to get to that "TONES" Folder : First Locate your iTunes default Music Folder in your Mac --> usually it's in your Default "MUSIC" folder --> Navigate to "iTunes Media" --> Navigate to "Tones". !! Keep this window open to make the transfer manually !!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------9) Once your duplicate is placed inside the "Tones" folder, double-click on that duplicate .m4r(true) file and let iTunes play, it should automatically place that ringtone file into the "Ringtone" sidebar List in the iTunes program... (check program to see) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------Somehow u needed both duplicates : 1 – inside the default initial .mp3 folder & 1 – inside the Tones Folder which we Duplicate+Drag into... and both must be "Ringtone" – Kind... for this to work.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------10) There you go. Now you can Sync / Delete / Add the whole Ringtone contents to your iPhone as you wish. //Don't forget to set SYNC ON under the iphone "Tones" tab in your iTunes - iPhone screen... and click big SYNC button at the bottom of iTunes program & wait for the magic.( Finally you can check inside your iPhone "Sounds" settings and hopefully if all steps done correctly, the bloodycomplicatedringtone selection will be there. Enjoy!

I backed up iPhone through iTunes on my pc and made sure I transfered purchases but when I restore the back up, my apps act like I've never used them before. All data is missing, what happened? Apple is now untrusted.
I backup my iPhone contents using iTunes. But now when I restore from my backup the apps are missing but the rest of the stuff are there such as photos and the Apple's original apps Maps, Passbook, etc. How do I solve this? Even iTunes is not showing my app contents as the previous versions of iTunes. I need my apps back. Help!
I have recently refreshed my iPhone and have only just decided to put my music back on, but there was already some greyed out songs on it that don't appear in my iTunes library, I can't delete these songs at all and also when i press the songs an apple ID that I have never heard of before pops up, anybody know how to help me?Greyed out songs:Apple ID (never heard of this):
I have a new MacBook Air and am trying to add songs from it (iTunes 11.0.1) to iPhone4S. However, drag & drop does nothing, which is what I had done on my PC to add songs previously. Note: I specifically don't want to sync my songs/libraries. I just want to add the new stuff I uploaed to MacBook Air iTunes to my iPhone4S. Any thoughts/help would be GREATLY appreciated.
I recently purchased a macbook air and synced the iPhone 5 to it. It synced and all the music that was on my phone is now on my mac. However, when i download new music, it won't let me drag and drop or right click to press "add to". That option also doesn't appear, whether i purchased a song or not. The songs im trying to add aren't purchased from itunes and i downloaded them from a youtube converter. Everything is synced between the phone and mac but i can't figure out any other way to change it. I also have the newest version of itunes.
I bought a iPhone 5 a week ago, I first was able to put my purchased items from the iTunes store directly to my phone. I tried to sync my phone to my computer and it put stuff from my old iPhone to the new one. So i restore it and get it back to the factory settings that it was on, but when I tried to put music on it after I restored it back to the way it was, it won't let me put music on it. I later on clicked on my iPhone and on the "on this iPhone" tab, it says that I have the songs that I have been trying to put on it, on it. But the songs are grayed out.. SO WHAT DO I DO?

Hi, I used to live in UK and purchased many songs from Itune. Now I am moving back to China and bought a new device. After I change my itune acc to China, I cant access my old purchase. Can you give me some advice on how to download the old songs?
Just before going to purchase my new Iphone 5 to replace my iphone 4 which was also fully updated, I backed up all my software on both Icloud and a pc backup. When I selected the restore from Icloud first many apps with saved data were missing. I blanked the Iphone to new and used the pc backup with the same issue. Is there any way to recover my lost data?
Software update is missing
Honestly, it feels like my iPhone is shrinking. About a month ago I had so much space... I have an iPhone 4 8gb. But I used to have tons of apps tons of picures and music. Now, I have had to delete all my pictures I have 15--can't take anymore. Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Nike Run (just downloaded- only 2 runs saved), Pandora, and a few bands on my phone..... my storage breaks down as... 1.33 GB of music...150 songs.....Photos 27.6...15 pictures...Apps 377.5....6 Apps and 4.50gb of "OTHER" I tried everything clearing each cache on my phone for data deleting apps I didn't use music I don't listen to.... clearing safari out deleting mail accounts....deleting and redownloading apps to clear more storage because I know the more use the apps the more the data goes up. I just don't understand all those are tiny little spaces filled "OTHER" is HUGEEE? I used to have so much space 100s of pictures all those apps and music I don't understand why it is shrinking!! Any ideas what I can do to get rid of this other stuff??? Thank you!
My iPhone 4s stopped reproducing any sounds over built in speakers, except the ringtone and alarm .The volume bar is missing in the music and video apps. If I plug in my headphones everything is back to normal and the volume bar reappears, when I plug them out & the volume bar disappears again.I restarted it & cleaned the docking area and headphone jack but nothing works .What else can i do ?
How do you turn on 'convert songs to a higher bit'? This message is coming up when I try to add files from my library to my iphone
I'm not sure as I don't know how to tell. If that deletes the imei then I suspect it was. Is there a way to restore all the data, such as modem firmware & imei?
I had put off upgrading my iPhone 4 to the iOS6 and only gave in to it about a week ago when I thought that the trouble I was having with a select few apps was because of my outdated operating system. Now, I'm regretting it terribly and would either like to know how to revert back to iOS5 or fix this irritating as all **** and unproductive system. I had backed up my phone right before upgrading thinking that that way, I could just restore to it if I didn't like iOS6, but now I'm seeing that restoring to that point does not in fact restore firmware. Now I have a maps app that won't help me plan through public transit. An email app that will not update my inbox or any box even though it falslely says it checked and there was simply nothing new.Every other app I have crashes constantly. When I turn on the iPod/music function, there's an extended delay before the music will actually start playing. The shuffle function is messed up (if I'm playing a tracklist of 38 songs, it will only shuffle a few of them and just keep looping through those few tracks).etc etc My contract is almost up and I was hoping that all the negative stuff I had heard about iOS6 would have been resolved by now so that I could confidently by the next iPhone, but at this rate, I'll be ditching Apple's phone entirely.
hoe do i put music from my iphone 4s ontop my laptop cause i want the music putting on my ipod. help! thanks
i used to have an iphone 4 16GB with a large amount of "other", at least 6GB. i backed it up to my computer then upgraded to the iphone 5 and when i restored it i still have 6.6GB of other. i'm not sure what this is or how i can fix it and i've tried almost everything. i only have five apps, 400 songs, 150 contacts, and 100 pictures. no videos. i'm not sure what i can do to get rid of all of this other. i keep trying to restore it but it keeps coming back. what can i do to fix this?
My Iphone 5 speaker just quit in the middle of a phone call. checked the mute switch, settings, and did soft reset no luck. Then did a new phone software load, and put my songs and photos back on, still no sound. Some folks said it was 6.1.4 software problem, hold out for fix, Verizon is sending new phone....dont want to give up the phone i bought for refurb if its just software. Some forums say its defective sound module in Iphone 5, can be replaced with new sound module. how do i know and what should i do?
cellular data network tab is missing on my iphone 4s
Hello! I am planning on getting the iPhone 4 8gb. I currently have an ipod touch and plan on transferring my 700 songs. I'd also like to add about 150 contacts and will probably have about 200 photos at a time. I'd also add about 25 apps. Will it fit?
Hi. I have an Iphone 2g on I.O.S 3.1.3 . For some reason, I cant download any apps in the app store. The link comes up to install but the graphic on the button is partially missing and when i touch it, it just changes colour and wont download. Plz help? thx
Today I completed a software update for my iPhone 5 without backing it up because I did not receive a warning that all my data would be erased and so, did not realize it would be an issue. Upon completing the update, I realized my mistake but figured it was too late to revert the damage and continued with the restoration of my phone to its factory settings. After completing the update, I realized just how much data was lost (including important notes with financial information and images and videos of recent trips around Europe). Now I am desperate to try to recover the data deleted in the update. Is there any chance at all that I can recover something? The notes and videos are most important to me. I am also missing many Messages but that is less important to me. Can anyone please help? Any response is greatly appreciated!
Well today i was running track and my iphone was in my bag but the rain wasnt really heavy but all my stuff still got wet and everything still works butthe sound is a little weird not much but when i play songs it dosent sound right. Please someone help
My phone won't power on. I tried holding down the power & home button for minutes at a time. Tried charging with multiple charges from multiple outlets and sources. The apple advice is telling me to upgrade the software on my phone. How am I supposed to do this if the phone won't turn on? Am I missing something here?
I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.
Hello. I have an i4. My calendar icon went missing after I respringed my i4 when I changed the theme. I tried with restore my home screen layout but that didn't work out. I restarted it without luck. Went on to look if I had misplaced it, but that was not the case. I have a jailbroken i4. Is there anyway I can get the calendar back? Thanks in advance.
When i get a phone call the ringer doesn't work and I a missing all my incoming calls. Help what should I do.Thank You
There must be something wrong with my account, because when my family and I try to download songs, apps, or updates, it at first prompts that it's installing, but then changes back into the button you press to download it (it cancels). Something I need to reset/change?
So a nasty smash destroyed both Front & Back of my iPhone 4, and since having them replaced the Wifi signal has been really weak. I have seen other posts about screen replacement having to be done by going through the antenna, so something could be missing, or done incorrectly during the screen repair. Will definately be taking it back to the shop and finding out if It was put back together properly. In the meantime I was wondering if it is possible to share my Macbook Pro's Wifi (always full signal in my house) directly to my iPhone either using USB cable or through bluetooth. It's not been too much of a problem but it would be nice to use my iPhone in bedroom using the Macbooks good signal. Note: The replacement front screen on iPhone has a small gap >1mm between the screen and centre metal casing on the left side just above the Silent/Loud Switch, which can be noticed by light leaking through the gap. The metal casing also still has a small dent between the volume down buttons and silent/loud switch, again nothing drastic 1mm maximum
I was downloading songs from iTunes with my wifi and noticed that it would take up to 16 minutes to download ONE song. As with 3G, it downloads more than one song 5x faster. But uses up my data. Can you tell me what I can do to change this...
I just bought a second hand (perfect condition) iPhone 4S today, the user sold it because they had upgraded to an iPhone 5. The previous user did not restore the phone they just deleted all of their previous data (contacts, pictures, applacations, they left their 1,100 songs though), so I planned on restoring it later tonight to start fresh. I had it activated to my phone number at the Verizon store on my way to a family party and used it throughout today but put barely anything onto it knowing I would be restoring it tonight. I got home and plugged it into my laptop and went to iTunes found "Emily's iPhone" and then hit the restore button like normal, it worked perfectly fine and went the whole 14 minutes it said it had to. Then my phone went to the "connect to iTunes" screen when it was already connected. I checked to make sure everything was plugged in correctly, and it all was perfectly fine. I tried the manual reboot (holding the home and lock buttons for a few seconds) and all it does is shut off and bring me to the same "connect to iTunes screen".. someone please tell me how I can restore my phone! Thank you, Emily
I am tired of my iPhone 4S already after suffering through issues upon issues with the device. My screen is having issues now where at a moment's chance it goes dim. I have to reset the device to get the brightness back to normal. I've tried restoring without any luck of this resolving. Another gripe I have is that I'm continuing to have issues with apps like Mail, Safari, and other Apple installed apps just continuously force closing. I've been sending emails back and forth on my iPhone only to have Mail force close and I lose everything in my message. The phone acts sluggish and performs worse than previous 4S devices I've owned. I've had issues upon issues across multiple iPhone 4S devices. The device I have currently is my 5th iPhone 4S and even tho its less than a few months old after it was sent to me after multiple filler iPhones of refurb models from the store, I continue to experience issues that make me use my iPhone less and less as it becomes more unreliable with the crashes and multiple restores. My closest store is not within close distance so that's made owning an iPhone with issues difficult as not every thread on the communities forum touch on half the problems I continue to have. Thankfully at least Siri knows where I'm located compared to my other devices where she always thought I was in Pittsburgh where I picked the phone up at my nearest store over an hour and a half away. Now everything just seems to be more of a deficiency with iOS and the hardware than anything. Obviously there must be something wrong with the latest stocks of 4S devices if my issues are continuing. When I restore I'm always setting up as a new device. I'm never downloading or redownloading anything from my Mac or PC. Everything is just redownloading apps from iCloud within the App Store and having a ton of missing photos in my photo stream. I just don't understand what is wrong with my iPhone. I never experienced these kind of issues with my iPhone 3GS so its hard to swallow how terrible the 4S has performed with every single device I keep getting. I'm at a loss on what I can do. Does anyone have any tips I should try that Apple hasn't provided me with to fix or at least band-aid the issue long enough till I can upgrade with my carrier?
my wifi icon is missing
IS anyone else having issues after the 6.1.4 update? Here is what I have experienced in the last two days. 1- Unable to access a locked or secure network. It asks for password initially. When entered, it is unable to connect. I restart and then go to Settings, find the network and click. I never get a prompt for the password, just "Unable to Connect" 2-Bluetooth. I can after a few attempts to connect my Bluetooth headphones, only after I get a "Failed attempt" a few times. Then only music works, unable to make phone calls. This happens with two different products. A SENA SMH 10R and LG HBS 700. 3- Music play - I found this issue out when trying to figure out problem with Bluetooth. I can start to play a song fine, but if I click on the ">>" or "<< " it freaks the player out and then skips multiple songs or stops play and goes back to the playlist. At first it was doing this with the Bluetooth headphones when using it to make selections. So I deleted the devices and the iPhone continued to do it when selecting functions on the screen. Some playlists did it and some don't. Creating a new playlist did not help. Additional Info.Apple Store replaced my iphone on Saturday 5.4.13 because if antina issues. The issues above came after I restored from backup and updated the OS. I have erased the phone 2 times since getting the new phone and restored from back up and rebuilt from Itunes and neither way makes a difference above. What is going ON? If I ask to play any of my playlists, for example "Play playlist Mix One" or "Play playlist Five", Siri plays the first song on the playlist, and any other songs on whoever the first artist's is album, even if it's not ON that playlist! It's as if it won't play any playlist that has different artists on it. If I manually go in and select a playlist it works fine, but Siri won't play an entire playlist mix, just one artist. An internet search was unhelpful. Any ideas? Kelli
My iphone 5 has the latest ios 6.1.3 and the battery life is hit and miss. The phone has been factory wiped in itunes and re set up. It sometimes will drop 50 percent on its own in a couple hours. If i do the home button and power reset on the phone the battery will report better. Maybe its a software glitch. I was also disappointed with the fact that i bought a high end home stereo and the iphone doesnt support the new apt-x codec yet their laptops do? Why is this. Its no wonder apple stocks are falling. I have owned every iphone since the 3gs and really have not seen any real improvements other than processors and screens. Poor customizations, lack of ability to personalize the phone and really nothing to keep me with buying another apple. This is unfortunate as the hardware is great but the feature set just hasn't improved in 5 years. In fact i think it has gotten worse. Being a communications tech i used to use wifi apps for testing signal strength on installed accesspoints and those apps got stripped be ause of apples sdk or whatever it was. The slew of apps on the android market for this is staggering. Now i see that motorola, htc and samsungs are all supporting the apt-x codec but no apple. Gps apps are poor and apple maps for our area are black and whit and half are covered in clouds from the satellite view so you cant see the streets anyways. As a business phone the iphone is looking less imoressive day by day. As a music player its also now being outdone. I hope apple takes some of this to heart and really does something impressive to IOS 7 to restore faith in its fans. And maybe some day we will be able to use one of our songs for a ring tone instead of having to pay. My old cdma phone even had this ability.
I have been downloading apps and buying songs from Itunes without problems. I just started having this problem. I am trying to update free apps and download free apps. It will take me to the sign in and billing account verifcation page but then denies my information which is correct. Can someone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it?
Am I missing something? The EQ setting from the "Music" app do not carry over to the "Podcast" app....There isn't even any individual app settings for "Podcasts" like there is for "Music".... Please Help.....
