Anonymous Incoming Texts iPhone

Hello. If this has been covered in another forum please feel free to point me to it.That said, heres my issue:I have the new 3GS phone. Love it, of course.I am frequently at different clients offices.If I am at Client As office and Client B sends me a text, I want it to show up as New Text (or something similar) and NOT show the Clients name or number as it is in my address book. Many of my clients enjoy the fact that I keep them to myself and not name-drop as to who they are. So, if my phone is on the desk near me, as it often is, and a text pops up, I would rather it not show Client A who Client B is.I went under settings and turned off the preview in the Text Settings, but that does not do what I want.Is there a way or a hack even, to do what I want?Thanks for any help with this.-Jason MacBook 2.4 GHz Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Problems since downloading new iphone software 3G

Since downloading the latest iphone software, two copies of most emails arrive in my mailbox rather than one and my ipod-purchased music wont play full songs but gives a ten second preview and moves onto the next. Any idea what to do about this? macbook Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Whenever I receive a message, it comes up with a preview and the option to close/reply. Regardless of which I select, it will decrement the message counter (on the icon) as if I have read the message.I can understand that it decrements on a reply, but if I hit close I would expect it to stay unread.The only way I can currently ignore a message, is to have the phone locked when it arrives, and put it back to sleep to change the swipe to view to swipe to unlock again.Is there any way to ignore a message so that it remains unread?Cheers! 1.33 Al PB G4 - 2GB, 60GB HD Mac OS X (10.5.7) 32GB iPhone 3GS

Text message name display iPhone

I have noticed that since the recent OS upgrade, when i receive a text message the name appears on the screen and says text message. But on the old OS you could turn this off if you went into the Passcode Lock in Settings. Does anyone know if this can be done anymore am i just completely blind and cant see where to turn it off again, so that when a message comes through all you hear is the message tone and nothing is displayed on the screen??!!P.s. hi everyonei have the new 3GS. my problem is very simple but very annoying. All the sms I receive or send disappear from the messages application.So say that I receive 3 messages when my phone is idle. With the software update, does anyone know if you will be able to opt out of have the pop up for text messages and just get a badge. I know you can turn the preview off. But i dont want to have the pop up at all. And it seems like the concept behind push would allow us to do this. Strange battery lifetime problem since 3.0 iPhone 3G

Hi, since I installed the developer preview a while ago, my battery lifetime has been cut in three...Im not a heavy user, and I only have 3G on, no bluetooth, wireless or location services, just to use the Push email services and browse the net.Before the update, I had a battery lifetime of more than 2 days, sometimes even about three...Now, with the new (beta) firmware, I get a max liftime of 2Oh 2 minutes???Whats wrong here? Should I downgrade again to 2.0 (if possible with the new baseband issues) ?Are there any ways to improve the battery life or to reset the battery memory of somekind?I recall I had this problem once before, but it just went away after some charging cycles, so I let the phone die without charging for a couple if times, but no help...Any ideas?Kind regards IMac 20" Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Text Previews iPhone

Is there a way--because I cant seem to find it in the settings--to change your preference for the text previews that pop up when you receive a text message? On other phones Ive had you can set it so that, when you get new sms messages, the alert just says something like 1 new sms message. I dont like how, on my iPhone 3G, if my phone is just sitting on a desk or table or if a friend is playing with my phone (which is quite common when you have an iphone) then someone else can read a preview of an incoming message that usually is the entire message and who its from. This makes me not want to let certain ppl play with my phone (aka family, etc) bc i dont want them to be able to read any text that I happen to get while they are looking at my phone. so, does anyone know if there is a way to change this? or at least does anyone agree with me that this is a problem that should be addressed by apple in an update. i just want to get alerts saying that i have a new message, not show the entire message automatically even if my phone is in sleep. i wouldnt mind if it just told me who i have messages from (this is what it does when u have multiple new texts now) but showing all of the text is really annoying me. Hi all,I just bought myself a 3G and Ive been having some serious problems with Wifi... here are some examples:1. Web pages on Safari sometimes do not load and say server stopped responding2. Web pages on Safari load, but not all images show up.... most show up as X.3. iTunes store will not preview 90% of the music in the store saying could not preview song4. App store search options do not always... it will say cannot connect to iTunes store5. App store and iTunes store will sometimes not load any images...it seems as though my internet connection is halting... like it will not finish what it is supposed to load and hangs... Alarm doesnt work when smsed iPhone

So here is an odd one. Im currently doing supps and therefore waking up at about 5am so I can get in a couple of hours study time in before work. However this morning I didnt get awakened by my 4:40am, 5am or 5 plus alarms that I set up on my phone.When I do eventually wake up at 6:30 I have that little message preview thing that you get when someone SMSs you. The moment I unlock my phone all 5 of my alarms ,that should have gone off already , decide to go off.I have a pass code set on my phone and Im running 2.1. Somehow despite having Passcode enabled, my Gmail email account on my iPhone was accessed. Has anyone seen this??? How???? I have 2.2 firmware and cant figure out how this could have happened. A message was received from Gmail server (fetch 15min). Before the latest update (2.2), when receiving a text message, while the phone was locked, the only thing that showed was text message. Now its back to an older version that gives you the Contact name and the phrase text message.Does anyone know how to eliminate the contact info from showing up while the phone is locked? 3G

Picture Quality Issues with Wallpaper of all things. iPhone 3G

Got an iPhone 3G, 16GB white. All was going wonderfully until it reset itself, went into recovery mode. Actually, it happened again thanks to 2 third -party apps. I restored it three times (oi) and, maybe because it did that I started nit-picking but it seems to me like my wallpaper is not as sharp/crisp as the preview for it is. Even stranger is the fact that it only seems to be the rose wallpaper that does this. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I just seeing things? It could be possible it was like that all along and I was just mesmerized by all the other shiny things the iPhone has to offer but Im about 95% sure it was a better picture before. When I open a downloadable PDF from Avery Labels or my bank, Quicktime takes over and creates some kind of document which I cannot print. The bank statements are in the form of (StmtContainer.aspx) This has just started to happen. From what Ive read, to purchase a ringtone, the music must first be able to be made into a ringtone which is evident by a bell symbol by the song. Ive read in the manual and followed the directions and got to the point where I can format the ringtone within a 30 second timeframe. Hi!After downloading Itunes 8, I can´t connect to Itunes through my remote application on my iphone 3g. When the phone generates a key, I don´t get the opportunity to type the key in Itunes.
