I noticed that if the message had a PDF attachment, then that icon is all I see. The text portion seems to have been ignored, although I can see it in the preview of the message. Very strange.RgdsKen 2.8 Dual Quad Core Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Hi,I need major help. I just recorded a ton of videos of our family trip to Disneyland on the iPhone 4 but it wont let me download it onto my Macbook. I used the almost DLSR app and neither iPhoto or preview will allow me to download any of the video footages. I guess almost DSLR creates a different file that cant be recognized. It looks like its still a .mov file but the file must be in some other unrecognizable format. preview gave me this error message:The operation couldnt be completed (com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error -9912)All of my iPhone 4 and iTunes is up to date. Is there anyway of just extracting the video footage via Finder? Thanks. MacBook Mac OS X (10.5.6)
With the latest iOS 4.02 update, now my email only shows up in the preview mode. When I attempt to open an email, the content is completely blank. When I return to the inbox listing, the preview is still there. What did they do to the email? 3GS iOS 4
When I open mail I can see the new emails text in preview, but when I open the emails the page is blank. I have had the 4os on the phone for a few weeks and reset the phone last week. This problem started today. Thoughts? Iphone 3G iOS 4
I have an issue with SMS messaging. When I receive an SMS messge I get a preview in the lock screen OK. If I go into the messaging app I can view the SMS but no editing options (e.g. clear conversation / delete etc) are available. If I open the multitasking tray and close the app, then reopen it again, hey presto, I can edit the message. This happens with every single message. Ideas? Im on my Mac most of the time and I dont like having to check my iPhone for calls and SMS.Is there a Mac app and/or an iPhone app which allows me to connect the two devices and then see incoming phone calls and SMS on my Mac? For calls, I need to see whos calling and for SMS I want to see a preview (on my Mac). This way I dont have to take my iPhone out of my drawer, or bag, or pocket. Is there an app for that? Hello,Im finding it to be a real privacy problem that my iPhone previews Every sms even when its Locked! Supposedly there is an option in the Passcode Lock area for this, this has never existed on my phone. How can I find this option? Thanks in advance. iPhone 3Gs iOS 4
Since the update to iOS4, my 3Gs open excel docs incorrectly. They show up but if there is a percentage anywhere in the document, it shows up in one of two ways. One, some documents show all percentages as 1% or 0% and two, if a document shows as 50%, it appears as 0.50% in the preview on iOS4. Any one else seen this? Any way to fix it?Thanks! iPhone 3GS iOS 4
I pay for a 200 limit on text messaging for my iPhone. Whenever I receive a text, it is automatically opened. This uses up my quota. On my older Razr phone, I could preview texts before opening and therefore delete useless ones. Is this possible on the iPhone? It seems like someone with unlimited text could spam my phone and use my message limit without me being able to do anything about it.Message was edited by: sidewinder717Message was edited by: sidewinder717 3GS iOS 4 ATT
HelloI will try not to post a wall of text but I have several questions about how to use certain features in the iPhone that, having tried an Android device for several months before moving over; are confusing me.1) If I get a text message from someone who is not in my phone book and then I decide to add them to it. How do I do this? In Android I could highlight the number and choose add to Contacts but I see no such option in iPhone; am I missing something?2) I have had an issue with receiving previews of text messages when the phone is idle/locked or on the dock. Most of the time, I want ot see this preview so I can read it without opening it, but other times, Im sent an image or a video clip and both just show up and display--when my phone is unattended. I dont like this. I attempted to turn preview off to resolve it but then I cant ready text previews. Is there any way to distinguish between MMS and SMS?3) the text in Safari on some pages is too large. How can I adjust down the size of the text so its not so big? Ive tried pinch to zoom or whatever but this doesnt work on certain pages.4) The default alert ringers/sounds that come with the phone are relatively bland. How can I change them? Honestly, it was difficult to do this even on my previous phone; so just wondering if its any easier on the iPhone.5) If the phone was locked/idle and I get an incoming call; my only option seems to be slide to answer with no decline option. Am I missing something? I am aware that i can hit one of the side buttons to silence the ring/vibrate but am I really stuck waiting for the phone to finish ringing/go to voice mail before I can use the phone again?5) Will FaceTime calls continue to be interrupted by other phone calls that come in? The text message preview and the alert are not working on my phone. The preview has stopped all together and only the tritone alert works, none of the others and i have the bell alert checked (the one ive always used) and it still makes the tritone sound. And i have in the text message settings the show preview switched to ON and in the sounds settings the new text message sound is the bell. I have turned my phone on and off multiple times and also did a hard reboot and nothing has changed. Ive turned off and turned back on the settings and nothing has changed either. I had used my headphones that night and the following morning is when it started. This has never happened before. My phone is unlocked, so i dont want to restore it in itunes and mess it up and i dont have any backups of my phone or what not. hopefully there is something i can do to fix this problem this is very frustrating because i love that preview and i want my ding sound back! 2g iPhone OS 3.1.2 unlocked

Hi,I have recieved several images from different contacts on my iPhone 3G (OS 3.1.3). Up to now I was able to tap on the blue arrow on the right of the image previews to display them in full screen and save them to Camera Roll. However, now most of these image previews wont show up when I look into the messages of that contact that sent them, only the text is displayed that came with the MMS. If there is an image preview shown, the tapping on the blue arrow doesnt do anything!I havent sync with the iTunes so that didnt cause this behaviour.Thank you for any suggestions.Martin PC iPhone OS 3.1.3

I have just had my first iphone and am wondering about how to change the settings for your messages.I understand you can turn the SMS preview off by setting a passcode lock. Are you able to change how your messages appear in the messages menu? Id like to be able to only see the name not the message too, until I open the message. Also, are you able to get delivery reports? Also, can you save a message to your iphone not just your computer?Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

I am currently using a 3G iPhone. Noticed that when I was out of cell and wireless range that I am not able to read any of my email from my companys Exchange server. I see the preview of the email but when I try to open any, I get a message of not being able to display the email (missing some of the details of the error messge, I confess.)As soon as I am within range, it is not a problem. Tried replicating this scenario by turning off wireless and turning on Airplane mode when within cell range to cut off all access opitons and I am able to read the entire email though, so it looks to be caching or downloading a copy of the email.I subscribe to a pop email service and accessing the email from that without any network coverage is still available.Anyone encountered this limitation or found a work around for it? 3G iPhone OS 3.1.2
iPhone 3GS 16GB running Firmware 3.1.2 on O2 UK. (5GB Free Space)+I am unable to view older MMS on my iPhone.Earlier in the week a friend sent me some MMS, but since then has text everyday, when I scroll to the top of conversation to view the MMS I am unable to view them. One MMS I can see the small preview and the blue arrow which lets you view in full screen, however this does not work. I also cant copy or forward the preview. Where there are meant to be other MMS, all I can see is the blue arrow yet again it does not workn and no preview. In another conversation from a month ago, the most recent message is an MMS which does work, but in the same conversation I am having the same issues with older MMS.Actions Taken:Restarted iPhone, this did not solve the issue.Deleted all message conversations apart from one, but deleted all texts and kept two MMS, this did not solve the issue.Restarted iPhone again, this did not solve the issue.Did a full restore on iPhone to bring back all message converstations that were deleted, still did not solve the issue.I would say the MMS files is still there somewhere, but how can I get to them? iPhone OS 3.1.2

Ever drive you mad as you always missed iPhone calls? Always keep iPhone next to you for just waiting for an important call? The most common complaint about the iPhone is that the iPhone ringing volume is too low. Bigasoft created a program called iPhone Ringtone Maker. You can make and boost iPhone ringtone volume to any desired level for hearing your iPhone rings even at busy workplace or at home with TV on. You will not miss a phone call again.Step 1 InstallFree download and install Bigasoft iPhone Ringtone Maker. Bigasoft iPhone Ringtone Maker will create the loud ringtone and transfer it to your iPhone and iTunes automatically.EnjoyOK, you are done. It is so handy. You can find Bigasoft iPhone Ringtone Maker at www.bigasoft.com.AttentionYou can use almost all audio or video file as long as there is no DRM or copy protection on it.Media files purchased from the iTunes store have copy protection. As of this writing, the cost of this handy program is $14.20 and well worth it.Free Try it Now!Learn More...More Articles on Bigasoft.com
When I first got my Iphone I was able to watch videos online. (like preview a ringtone on myxer.com) After I installed the 3.0 update onto my phone I am nolonger allowed to do that, all it comes up with is the code for the page. So I guess my question is, What can I do to fix this problem? Also, Since the 3.0 update, google doesnt work properly. I know you can hide the text message preview but I dont want to have Text message from Bob to show when my iPhone is locked. Is there anyway to disable any notifications of text messages? Is there an app for that?? iPhone OS 3.1.2
Ive had my iphone for a few months now and love it. However, I have a snooping ex-boyfriend problem and since we work together it is often hard to avoid getting in trouble for incoming text messages or calls from other people.I turned the preview SMS to off on my text settings. And I also have my phone protected with a password, but even activating the screen to light up allows anyone to see WHO is calling or sending me text messages. Is there anyway to get this changed so that my screen only notifies me as New Text Message rather than New Text from John Smith?? Im pretty sure there isnt an option on the iphone settings to do this, but does anyone know of any privacy apps that can help me with this problem? Id really appreciate any help I can get!! iPhone iPhone OS 3.1 MacBook, iMac G5
For some time now, I dont get a preview picture when I get a call from a contact. This question does not pertain to the preview that pops up on the home page on the phone. My question is, is it possible to NOT automatically view a new message once it comes through? For example, my old phone would just archive text messages into a list, and I didnt necessarily have to read them if I didnt want to. Now, with the iphone (and only 200 messages plan), Im forced to read all of the crap - sometimes one word crap - that is sent to me. I dont want to read that stuff, and I dont want it to count as one measly message either. Cheers. iPhone OS 3.1.2
Hey folks!MMS had been working fine on my iPhone, but lately ive been getting some odd issues.. 1.) Ill recieve a text (NOT an MMS). Ill see it on the screen, preview looks fine but at the bottom of the preview bubble itll say Attachment: 1 image. Keep in mind, this is definitely only an SMS. When i click on view, the text is not there and all that is there is a single line with the blue arrow that lets you view a pic full screen.2.) When I open a conversation with someone, an MMS message i sent to someone else shows up in their conversation window like I had sent it to them, when in fact I did not.Anyone know what the heck is going on? Thanks for any info you provide! iMac 24" 2.4ghz 4gb Mac OS X (10.5.4) iPhone
Up until yesterday, whenever I would receive a text message, there would be an alert on my screen as soon as it would wake, with Show preview off, so that the actual message would not be visible. Now there is no alert at all-- but I can see next to the IM icon that there are messages waiting. In preferences, I have Show preview off and Repeat Alert on. Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?thank you G5 2.0 / Macbook 13 2.0 / Intel iMac 20" Mac OS X (10.5)
Okay. I apologize if this has been covered, but I didnt find any solutions after a quick search. Basically, if someone calls my phone and I dont answer, it kicks into my recorded message and seems to work as it should. However, from my phone, I see that someone called but I am not receiving the voicemail. Previously, turning off the phone and turning it back on would make messages appear. That does not seem to be working at present. I have the 3GS with 3.1 software and everything else is fine. If I go into the voicemail and try to preview the greetings, default and custom, my custom greeting will not play. I get a retrieving greeting message at the top and a spinning wheel. It never retrieves the greeting, although the greeting is working for callers to my phone. Any suggestions for fixes would be greatly appreciated. built myself Windows XP Pro
Hi guys, Im new to this forum, been with iPhone since October 2008, got no answer in other forums to this particular problem. I use 3G iPhone 8GB SF, OS 3.0.1.The problem started since I upgraded to 3.0 and enabled MMS. I sent a couple MMS, then deleted them. Then I get an SMS from an unrelated contact. In a preview I see his text, but when I open his message I see the text and sometimes the picture from the previously deleted MMS to a different person. Then another SMS comes in - another deleted MMS picture pops up, and so on.I checked with my carrier, thought it was their mix-up - they referred me to a good psychiatrist. My contacts notice nothing wrong, by the way, they get the correct pictures and texts, the mix-up is only at my iPhone. The MMS APN string definitions have been double checked with the carrier - they are OKAny ideas? Thanks 3G 8GB SF iPhone OS 3.0.1
When iPhone is in sleep mode and I got a text message, it shows the preview. Ok, thats working fine. But after I unlock my iPhone and wanna read my text message, it just nowhere could be found. Is anyone facing this problem? or only me? Inspiron 1520 Windows Vista
I have SMS preview turned on in my iPhone 3G. I like it this way, because since we cant multitask , i like to be able to read the message and decide weather or not i want to close the application Im in to go respond to a text message. However, before the 3.0 update, SMS previews would not show the contents when the phone was locked and passcode protected. I thought this was ideal, because i have noisy co-workers that think its fun to read your texts. After the update though, now SMS show their texts right through the passcode locked screen for anyone to see.Turning off SMS preview is not the answer for all you inside the box thinkers that want to reply Settings -> Messaging -> SMS preview -> Off. This is super annoying since I have to exit every program to find out what was said to me. I wonder if this is the same for everyone else, meaning that SMS preview is on, yet SMS text data shows through the passcode locked screen. If this is in fact by design, I hope another option comes along allowing SMS preview to remain private when the phone is passcode locked. iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.0.1

i remember seeing a few things in the iphone 3.0 preview video that Ive been waiting for. However, I dont see them! The main two things are:1 - the ability to play multiplayer games via bluetooth2 - and the little smiley face that shows up on my homescreen for push notifications like from ESPN or what not3 - MMS4 - Tetheringmaybe these features are available and I just dont know about them yet? if so, what games have the bluetooth capability as Id like to try it out.from my understanding MMS and tethering are the fault of ATT not having come up with a plan for them. Im confused as to why MMS for iphone would charge any differently from any other phone. because we have a family text/mms plan. and I hope they dont raise the price for my mms just because i have an iphone.
