Replaced iPhone . Can't restore from iCloud. iPhone 5

I'm in desperate need of help and this is my first time posting on the forums. I got my iphone 5 replaced by sprint due to a few dead pixels that became very noticable. I backed up all my info to iCloud. Now, when I'm trying to restore my replacement, I'm not allowed to. I'll click restore from iCloud and enter my user name and password and it works just fine. It restores, and half way installs all my apps and then says that its unable to finish. It says my iCloud password is wrong. The problem is, I must've backed up iCloud to my old Apple ID username and it's not letting me change it! I tried to explain it the best I could. Thanks in advance.

iphone 5 and backing up corrupt

I'm trying to back up my iPhone to my computer, and I'm getting the message"iTunes could not back up the iPhone [my_name] because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone"  I sorta know how it happened.  I lost a hard disk, but kept a current backup of my entire iTunes library on another drive (because I've lost drives before) and when I replaced it, itunes worked again, except for this...  Anyhow, I've googled this problem, and found a solution; in Device Preferences > Devices, delete any backups that appear, and then try again.  But... The box is empty.  There are no backups listed.  I used to have one, I know I did.When I try to back up again, thinking it would create a Device Backup, I get the error. I'm not interested in recovering anything from the backup, as I have original on the phone, as well as the current library. I just need to delete something in the iTunes folder in order to clear this problem, but I don't know what.  (I'm an advanced user, I can handle it.)  Help! thanks

I would like to update my Iphone 3GS 8 gb phone from 5.1.1 to newer version software 6.1.3

I want to update my Iphone 3GS from 5.1.1 to the new software 6.1.3, but I am scared I might lose stuff. I have heard good things about the new software where it's faster and the battery life is great and amazing. And would like it updated to the IOS 6.1.3. I haven't had any issues with my phone other than when I last updated my phone quite a long time ago, I lost all of my stuff, but got it back except for my contacts. Thankfully I had all of my contacts written down on a piece of paper. Is there someone who can guide me a easy way, If i update my iphone 3GS 8gb to the new software 6.1.3 so i don't lose any of my apps, contacts, etc off my phone. Please. Is there a easier way of doing this update so i don't lose anything off my phone? HELP!! PLEASE!!

iphone 5 can make call using phone but voice cannot be heard on either side. speaker phone not work either. Siri can hear voice and functions well. viber skype and all other apps using microphone and speakerphone works well.

iphone 4 won't charge

Greetings, My i4 developed yet another problem in the series (previous issues concerned home button, power button and camera module)... Two nights ago, I had the phone plugged in the PC, in order to make backup, syncronize with iTunes, change music etc etc... It took around an hour, maybe hour and a half, and I was surprised to see that the battery (which was not even close to flat) reached only about 70%. Shortly after I unplugged the phone, the battery dropped to 50%. That night I forgot to plug it in again, and I spent the whole day yesterday saving the battery. Later that day, I got home and plugged it in immediately. 2 hours later, the battery was still on 14%. I left it "charging" for the whole night, just to find out that this morning, it was still on 14%. While checking emails and stuff, the indicator "jumped" to 16%, but then dropped to 10%. Now it shows 3% eventhough it's still connected to the computer. There is a battery indicator on the lock screen, which means that it doesn't refuse the charger, but somehow the battery refuses to be charged. The indicator in the upper right corner shows "plug in" symbol, as if it has been charged, not a "thunder" as if it's still charging. I tried cleaning both the dock connector and the cable, I tried different cables, I tried charging from the wall socket and from various PCs, but nothing seems to work. Everything else seems fine though. Battery dead and needs replacing, or is it something more "fruttier"? Thank you!

Iphone 5 connected to USB gives shock when touched to ear to speak

I usually charge my iphone5 with usb connected to laptop. past few days, i got a call while charging the phone with usb. I raised the phone to speak, as soon as it touched left ear, I got a decent electric shock. The shock was pretty powerful. I ignored it first time, but after that, the same happened about 5-6 times. Now I do not speak while connected to usb. But I think this is not a normal behaviour of an iphone since other phones do not shock the user. Can someone help me?

Why are my notification on my iphone 5 so horrible

My iphone 5 has always been horrible in receiving any notification. I get no notification from any application or even the stock application. This is frustrating when I need these notification for my user experience. This mainly has to do with notification coming on my lock-screen. Facebook, instragram, and many other application gives no notification on my lockscreen and no sound to indicate any news. This is a problem that I've experience for a long time and its very bothering to see no notification pop up or sound. I've used to really enjoy apple before this issue. I used to believe it was just software issues but after the many updates, nothing was done to change this problem. At this point I am not satisfied with the product and how it performs.

iPhone 5 battery phone suddelny switches of at 15

Hi people, I have an iPhone 5 64 GB and of course all the newest software. In the recent days, it happened twice to me that the phone would suddenly switch of at around 13-15% battery! When I try to turn it on immedietaley, i will get the "empty battery"-symbol. However, after waiting for some 20-30 minutes, when i turn it on again, it will just work and display a battery of around 13-15% again. Very strange. Never had this behaviour at iPhone 4 or 4s Any ideas? thanks

Dropped iPhone 4 in to toilet but hear me out

I dropped my phone into the toilet. I got it out as quickly as possible, but it did get submerged. When I got it out, the screen turned on by itself, but I didn't think much of it, and I stuck it in rice for a few hours. When I went to check on it, it seemed fine, as the screen turned on and all the buttons seemed to be working, other than being slightly laggy. The volume buttons worked, but the didn't seem to do anything to the volume. The speakers worked as well, and even the vibrating part did. the lagging didn't get any better though, so I decided to see if reseting it would work. It turned off fine, and the apple symbol came up, but that was where it stopped, and it now will not turn on. I checked the LCI in the headphone jack and the charging slot, and the one in the headphone jack has a tiny pinkish-red dot, and the one in the charging slot doesn't look red at all. I stuck it back into the rice just in case. Can anybody help with my situation?Just some info, up until I put my phone into the rice the first time, I was mostly in full panic mode, and even after I put it in the rice, I kept checking to see if it worked by pressing the sleep button. I'm pretty sure I did everything I'm not supposed to do, but what can I say?

Crashing and screen flickering problems. iPhone 4

I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iPhone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple Store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone.However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iPhone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "Restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info.She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iPhone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!

Hi All, I just upgraded my iphone 5 to IOS 6.1.4. Afterwhich i realize the performance motion of sliding from page to page, app opening and minimizing... seems to have dropped. Did anyone experience the same effect? I wish to revert back to 6.1.3, any guide on how to achieve this without losing any data or app installed?  Appreciate any help. Thanks.

MobileVOIP skype not work after 6.1.4 iPhone 5

Hi, I have an iPhone 5. Sometimes I use the MobileVOIP app for Voip calls. After the 6.1.4 update the application does not send the audio to the speaker (both call speaker and external speaker). It seems that the application recognize the earphones also without plugging them or it is not able to reach the internal speaker. The application works good with earphones. Also trying with skype, they don't work. Since the update focused on audio-problems, are there settings to solve this problem? Do any of you have the same problem? Thank You Roberto

Battery not charging iPhone 5

The iPhone5 is less than 6 months old. After I downloaded some photos to my computer through the USB, I then needed to recharge my iPhone5. So, I removed the cord from the USB port plugged it into the adapter and then plugged into a wall receptacle. After more than 8 hours it has not charged. The symbol shows it is charged but the battery icon shows only 29% and it continues to decline when used. Any ideas on what to do other than taking it to the store. Thank you for any assistance

My phone will not restore properly iPhone 4S

I just bought a second hand (perfect condition) iPhone 4S today, the user sold it because they had upgraded to an iPhone 5. The previous user did not restore the phone they just deleted all of their previous data (contacts, pictures, applacations, they left their 1,100 songs though), so I planned on restoring it later tonight to start fresh. I had it activated to my phone number at the Verizon store on my way to a family party and used it throughout today but put barely anything onto it knowing I would be restoring it tonight. I got home and plugged it into my laptop and went to iTunes found "Emily's iPhone" and then hit the restore button like normal, it worked perfectly fine and went the whole 14 minutes it said it had to. Then my phone went to the "connect to iTunes" screen when it was already connected. I checked to make sure everything was plugged in correctly, and it all was perfectly fine. I tried the manual reboot (holding the home and lock buttons for a few seconds) and all it does is shut off and bring me to the same "connect to iTunes screen".. someone please tell me how I can restore my phone! Thank you,    Emily

Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... '  I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue.  My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ?  Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i?   My sister simply wants it to work with her contracted sim .. with the benifits and features iphone offers. hey there, so i bought my iphone on April 5th and it was working fine up until 2 days ago, my phone started glitching and shutting off by itself. Today it shows up with the input cord on the bottom of the screen and an arrow pointing to the itunes symbol at the top of the screen. When i plug my iphone into the computer it says it needs to be restored, i click "restore iphone", it then loads well but when it makes the final load to turn my phone on, it crashes and says "the iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured" what do i need to do to fix my iphone??????

Following the most recent ios version update, my iPhone 5 completely crapped out and had that little usb symbol on the screen.  I called Apple...they walked me through transferring all my almost 3000 photos/videos to my computer (obviously not able to do through iTunes/iCloud when my phone wasn't functioning).  I asked if everything else (about 250 apps...no music) would be in the most recent cloud backup which was only a couple hours before the phone crapped out.  They said yes.  I did the restore and only about 30 of my 250ish apps restored!  I never saw all my apps in my iTunes for some reason and all the apps that I can see in my iTunes have been restored.  I wasn't at capacity for iCloud storage either because it happened a couple months ago and I bought more storage space.  I've only been an iPhone user since Dec 2012 so PLEASE HELP if you can and let me know if there is anymore inof you need from me to help me troubleshoot. PS=I use a good 30-40 of those apps while I'm running experiential marketing campaigns in the field...one of which is a HUGE campaign I'm managing starting tomorrow.  I'm toally FREAKING out right now with my apps not all restored even though the restore is complete. PLEASE HELP -super grateful in advance Julia

Twice frontal glass broken on Iphone 5

Hello, I'm an "old" user of Iphone ... 3S, 4, 5 .... on this last one for two times I've broken the frontal glass... never happened with older models Honestly in the first time I have nothing to say because unfortunately my phone fell down bumping the frontal glass on a small stone (from an height of about 1 meter from my pants pocket) and the glass has broken  .... but in the second case it fallen down on the back face on a plate surface always from an height of 1 meter and in this second situation my phone was also protected a little bit in a gum cover  I choose again APPLE product and especially this model without considering equivalent models of other competitors also for roughness (saw a lot of demo video on the web) but I'm very disappointed from the reality .... I payed twice (220 Euro each time) the replacement with 2 new phone becuse glass broken ae not under guarantee but for this second situation I don't agree with the policy of APPLE and I espect from them at least a commercial action to me because this second payed replacement is absolutely unaccetable .... Roberto (Italy)

I find that the location services symbol is always solid gray next to my Find My Iphone tab in settings, indicating that an outside source is using the find my Iphone app to pin point my location.  Is there anyway to determine who/what is tracking my iphone and from where?

iPhone 4s Problems with iMessage and Pics

1. Starting on April 24th my iMessage option stopped working. When I would send a text to another iphone user they wouldn't receive the text. I turned that option off and sent test text messages - they went through. Turned iMessage back on - and nothing was received. Does anyone know why that would be happening? It is rather frustrating when a needed function does not work.  2. Also, I can not receive picstures over text anymore. I can receive them when I open my messenger program on my laptop, but nothing over text.  Does anyone know what is going on with these issues?!

software update crashed iPhone 5

I just got a brand new iPhone 5 yesterday and was in the process of performing a "sync" to copy some music. iTunes alerted me that a new software update was available for my phone so I started this process. The process crashed and despite removing the old software, it has not installed the new and will not pick up the phone at all when I plug it in. iPhone 4S won't charge when plugged in only shows fully charged symbol but doesn't actually charge.

I've tried plugging it in. At first the phone didn't pick up the cable after it did it showed the fully charged logo on the battery in the corner. But on the lock screen it didn't show the battery filling up. When you unplug it, it's still at 10%

I had bought the Iphone 5 the day if first offically launched in Saudi Arabia from Zain telecom one of the officail Iphone Carrier in the country. https://www.sa.zain.com/autoforms/portal/site/personal/handsets/apple?AF_languag e=en Being an Apple Fan boy Have owned many products of Apple including all major iphone interations. I had never faced any need for warranty repairs or any such thing previously.  My luck with the Iphone 5 was not the same. Just 5 Months and my Sleep/Wake button just refuses to work. But the Horror was when i reached the Zain Telecom store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I was told by them that Apple has refused to take Any Iphone exibiting Scuffing or Scratches as this renders the iphone out of warranty. It just Dosnt make any Sense when Senior Apple SVP for Marketting Phill Schiller Him self on 25 Septeber 2012 in an email to an apple user have acknowledged that this kind of scuffing is natural to any aluminium product. I would like some one from Apple to Respond to this issue of mine and give me a solution. The worst part is there no authorised service in the country. If this dosnt turns out well then my next phone shall not be an apple until apple has a bigger foothold in saudi arabia. Thanks & RegardsAsim 

Iphone 5 turning off at 40 battery power

Hi guys. Today when I played music through spotify to my car audio system (through minijack), my iPhone 5 turned itself off in the same way it does when the battery is empty. At this point, the battery was at 40%. When I tried turning it on immediately after, the 'connect to power outlet' symbol showed up. I also remember I used the snapchat app at that point. Now a couple of hours later, I could turn it on normally and I have 40% power left. At the moment I'm running iOS 6.1.3 and I've never experienced this before.  Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be related to the amount of power drawn through the headphone jack?  Thanks!

That data is stored in a cache that is not user accessible for editing. The data will be overwritten as you use your phone. However, if you want it gone now, then you need to restore your phone as a new device, not from backup.

My i-phone 4s has WIFI greyed out since installing iOS 6 i called APPLE australia and they told me i was 83 days out of warranty and i have to pay 250. this was on 24th of april man on phone then told me i might have to jailbreak

the man on the phone told me to jailbreak my iphone so i could get iOS 5 back.. but by jailbreaking a phone you lose the warranty anyway... considering this is apple's fault (iOS 6 has ruined my 4s capability to connect to wifi) ( and my girlfriend has as 4s on iOS 5 and that still connects fine ) i think they should be doing more i am a long time apple customer but i think this has made me want to swap back to being a windows user and maybe getting the samsung or HTC

iPhone not working properly can i change it for new one

Hello. on December i purchased my iPhone 5 on eBay for about 530. Its under warranty until december 20 2013, not today while charging my iPhone at night i noticed my iPhone kept charging and uncharging itself, (the beep noise) it keept doing it for quite awhile and i checked up on it.  It has some problems charging, i've never had any problems with it before. Now, i tried hard resetting and rebooting it a bunch of times but when i hard reset (dfu mode) my computer would not recognize it to even restore it. my computer won't even recognizes if the phone is connected.  It's not the cables as i have an iPad 4 and i have 3 cables in total, all original apple products. All cables work perfectly fine with the iPad but not with the iPhone, so i'm geussing something is wrong with my iPhone.  How can i get my iPhone replaced or fixed?  I've only been in the apple store to check out products but never spoken to any of the customer support.   what questions will i get asked?  Do i gotta make an appointment or can i just walk into a local apple store and bring in my device and box.  what will i need?      It's my first time trying to replace or fix my iPhone so i need help. Help a fellow apple user.

I.ve got a new PC and I would like to recover all my music, apps, configuration ...et cof my iphone from my old computer to the new one  without having to reformat the whole thing. Is there anyone who could guide me ? Equipment:Iphone 4SPrevious PC : running windows 7 proNew pc: windows 8 proItunes 11 on both version  Thanks in advance laurent
