iPhone wont turn on

I think I am fuked. My iPhone was constantly freezing today. I did a reset (holding down home and power button) I did that twice. I wanted to sync my phone into iTunes so that I could have all of my photos on my computer before my phone stopped working. Well no point. Wont sync. I try turning it on and syncing and all it does is show the apple logo then it shuts down. I am about to cry right now because all my photos from my trip and my text messages are gone. I cant even get my phone on to even try and reset it. I dont know what to do. Windows XP

Who Has Had Perfect iPhone 4 Experience

My iPhone experience has been flawless! I ordered on 6/16 in the evening with no problem. Received a ship by 7/14 date and a deliver by 7/14-7/19 date. I received an email from Apple on Friday that the order had been released and tracked the package a couple of times over the holiday at my lakehouse for the holiday and received it today (7/6) in mid-afternoon. The sync process was seamless, everything came over. Using the phone around town today, taking photos, sending and receiving texts, and I have not had problem #1. No dropping calls, no damaged or colored screen, no missing iPhone when I opened the box. The process has been very well done and the iPhone is really outstanding. The screen presentation is amazing, the new form factor is much easier too handle than any of the previous versions. Given that I cant believe everyone writing in is hallucinating, or incompetent or worse, lying...I wonder how many have an excellent experience like I have? Synching New IPHONE 4

Ok..so I recently upgraded my IPHONE to IPHONE 4. Now I was not that great in synching the old phone iwth I Tunes but I did have my contacts and photos up to date on the phone itself. When I got the new IPHONE 4, I went to the Apple store so they can transfer all the photos and the contacts...it worked great. When I got home, I plugged in the new phone and everything went out of wack. I tunes went to the last backup of the old phone which was 4 months ago and updated the new IPHONE with outdated information...What do I do? Moisture on screen iPhone 4

Hi,I bought the iphone on Saturday and I also installed the invisible shield by zagg.On Sunday i was made a call(about 1 hour and the phone was in my ear) and when i close it i saw something like water on the right up section of the screen.On Monday this thing has gone to all the right section of the screen but it somehow starting to disappear.Its not down of the screen protector because i took it off.Its inside the screen.I contact with Apple in Greece but because they dont have authority to fix it they just contact with Apple in UK to see if the problem exists.They told me that is somekind of common and ill have to wait for 7 days for the moisture to get away of the screen.Is this normal?Did you hear any similar cases?Best regards,Vasilis. iPhone 4-Photo Orientation Problem

Ok.Everything else appears to work fine apart from the Photo stock app.When I have used my iphone4 for a while doing numerous tasks, when I go into the photos section I orientate my device landscape & it does not seem to always recognize at all that it is landscape, however right after I can go into say safari and it rotates fine.(If I reboot the phone it seems to fix the issue and it rotates again however its not the first time its occurred.Also sometimes when I take pictures for whatever reason the phone does not recognize where you take them so the geotaging fails to work. (This could be to do with trying it indoors though). iPhone4 iOS 4

Stuck in customer services returns iPhone 4

After waiting for the 3 week delivery for my iphone from the apple online store (singapore) it arrived with a damaged pixel.Customer services told me to send it back in via DHL and they would send out a replacement within 2 to 3 working days.One week later and still no replacement.To make matters worse, every time i call support it takes them about 20 minutes to actually find my case and figure out what is going on before they can even try to assist me.The latest i have heard is that i now have to wait another three weeks for a new one to be delivered for me!!!If i had known this i would have held onto the damaged unit until they sent me a replacement.Is this normal returns policy?Now i am over in Singapore for work reasons. My previous apple experience is with the UK store where you can usually just walk in and walk out with a replacement handset.I cannot believe how difference the customer experience is over here. Am i over-reacting in complaining about this? Should i just cancel my phone order - after all it will now turn out to be six weeks from initial order until i finally get to use one. Belkin Clear Hard Case iPhone 4

The Shield Micra case. This was my free case through the case program. Cant say anything good about it. Literally 3 cents worth of plastic and the top and bottom are completely open and not protective at all. Opening for volume buttons is too small btw. No one with average hand size will like it. I have another clear case I really like (no brand from handhelditems.com). But I thought, well try the Belkin. A half hour later I finally succeeded in getting my phone out of the darn thing and had to be VERY careful not to damage the phone in the process. There is NO EASY WAY to take the phone out to clean. iPhone 4 water damage

I lost my iPhone, and someone found it for me. Apparently, the guy found it on the street. When I got it back, I tried to turn it on, and the Apple logo would come on, say connect to iTunes, then turn back off. And it would do that over and over. I called AppleCare, and found out abt the sensor at the bottom inside the dock connection, and it was red meaning water damage.Im not sure if the bag of rice trick would work, since Ive already turned it on. But thought I would ask if anyone has experienced that yet. Does it matter that Ive been turning the phone on repeatedly? Activate without s iPhone 3G

I upgraded to an iPhone 4 and was thinking about selling my 3G. For some reason I took out the sim card (security reason?). It sat around and I never sold it and I just had to restore my old phone. Now it wont activate because the sim is missing, and I cant find it.Im wondering if ATT has like a bogus sim card that I can get from them just so I can activate the old 3G, or if I go to the apple store they can at least get it functioning as an iPod touch. Earpiece stopped working iPhone 4

Sadly my iPhone 4 earpiece no longer works. My iPhone 3G clashes when upgrading from 4.01 to 4.02

I need some help or advice. My iPhone crashed when I upgrade from 4.01 to 4.02. It asked me whether I would like to reset. I said yes thinking it will take me back to 4.01. Actually it takes me back to the day I purchased the phone. That is to say, I lost all my programmes ( I can download them again). The worst part is, I lost my phonebook and emails account. Battery percentage issue iPhone 4

When I charge my phone to 100% overnight (wall) and unplug it, the battery literally drops to 99% within a minute of usage (email checking etc). It happened this morning and then I rebooted the phone which knocked it back to 100% for an extra 10 mins or so till it went to 99%. It also seems to drop fairly fast...I tried exiting all my background apps which helped a bit but not really. restoring the phone, etc...Ive got push email on, wifi on, push notifications on, Bluetooth off. Right now Im at 88% battery usage with 1 hr 5 mins usage (browsing) and 1 hr 22 mins standby. Does this seem weird?Ive restored with backup, restored as a new phone and same problem. I was thinking it might be a rogue app but Ive exited everything - an app couldnt cause battery drain just by being installed could it? Dell Windows 7

Have to re-install iTunes everytime I sync iPhone 4

The most annoying thing ever, for ages I couldnt get my computer to recognise my new iPhone, after trying everything I re-installed iTunes and it worked. I then plugged it in the day after and it wouldnt recognise it was plugged in, it didnt come up in finder or in iTunes. So I re-installed iTunes again, and it worked. I synced up my iPhone twice more and have just gone to sync a 3rd time and AGAIN it is not recognised, and will not show up anywhere on my mac. Do I seriously have to re-install iTunes everytime I want to update songs or anything on my iPhone? I have tried everything that is suggested in forums and on the Apple site, nothing works except un-installing and then re-installing iTunes, but I cant do this everytime! Syncing Bookmarks Creating .dat file iPhone 4

Every time that Im syncing my bookmarks some 300 .dat files are created (*.dat.*) as a bookmarks in IE, scattered around my favorites. Low Sounds iPhone 3G

For some strange reason, the sound on my iphone 3G has reduced drastically. I am not able to hear either ringtone nor any music. The volume control is at full level. I tried resetting the phone and tried almost everything, but the sound volume can not be increased. All other functions are in perfect condition. The phone has neither fallen or become wet. How I express dissatisfaction over being given refurbished phone iPhone 4

Hi,Live in Canada and got my Iphone 4 early August (August6 to be exact). My Iphone was having such battery problems that I had to get it replaced. Made an appointment to see a Genius, who basically ran a test and said the battery was operating normally but agreed to replace it for me as I was getting a battery drainage of 10% or more per half hour average.Replacement came in a black box, and had a 5k serial number. Ive read that serials with the 5k designation are refurbished phones. I specifically asked him if it was a refurbished phone and he said no. This is quite upsetting, considering the price I paid for the phone. Basically, I was deceived by Apple (I dont blame the Genius as he may or may not have known it was a refurbished phone)How do I contact Apple with my concern re: this issue. Burnt out screen iPhone 3G

Battery Charging Life Span iPhone 4

Hey!First and foremost, I would like to thank the community here who have provided really amazing comments and tips about the iPhone. As I am still pretty new to the Apple family and with my very first iPhone, I would say I have gleaned a lot from you guys! Thank you once again as you have been a really great help in my journey of discovery and learning. I have been doing a lot of reading up on battery management as after deducing what I have learn, I would like to ask if what I have is right. As we know, the battery of the iPhone is extremely important and I happen to be very particular about it. Smartphones are never known for their extraordinary battery life considering all the fantastic features it holds. Therefore here is what I have found out:1. It is highly recommended to keep your iPhone plugged in whenever you can (if you are not moving about), especially at the office or when you are sleeping at night. 2. Unlike conventional phones, the iPhone has a special battery management system that prevents the battery from overcharging. Therefore you cannot overcharge the phone and leaving it plugged in for the whole time you are at the office or at night will not damage the battery.3. In fact, keeping the iPhone plugged in either directly to the dock or original USB wall dock is said to keep the battery in optimum performance and life.4. It is also advised to use the iPhone while it is plugged in for battery intensive applications like 3G / wifi serving, video playback, 3D gaming or movie editing (yay to iMovie!). This is because you are actually using the AC power instead of the battery. This follows on even after the battery has been fully charged. Doing this too does not damage the battery.Now with these findings, I would like to ask if these were so, does that mean if I am to keep the iPhone plugged in for the most part of the time with the exception of it unplugged during my travels and movement about, that the battery Life Span would be prolonged? This is because rather than using the battery and having to go through the charge cycles more regularly, I am using the AC source more regularly now.Does this theory hold true and will the Life Span of the battery be prolonged?With all these said, I do understand the iPhone is meant to be a mobile device and the Apple Care Plan does take care of the battery replacement. as a proud owner of a ip4, i discovered to my horror that, when sending sms to a stored contact, who has 2 different mobile numbers, that my sms is sent to BOTH mobile numbers stored, although during the composition of the sms, I have specifically chosen ONE mobile number. So, I end up having the same sms send to both my contacts mobile number, to his annoyance.Is this a bug or has anyone out here faced similar problem and have it fixed? Thanks very much. My face touches MUTEHOLDEND iPhone

While Im on a phone call, the screen will wake (I guess due to the natural minor adjustments I make in the way I hold the phone) and when I put the phone back against my face, the key for MUTE, or HOLD, or END is getting pressed. This is happening a lot. I had a 3GS and this never happened! No ringtone iPhone 3G

Ok i got the iphone4 and sold my ipt and hhone 3g to a friend, his sim card is in he can recieve calls and text but for some reason no ring or text sound and volumn is all the way up and it plays the sound when u choose it but not if recieve call or text, i restored back to factory settings and updated the phone to the newest updates, he can make calls and send texts but for some reason no sound. help would be appreciated. dell Windows 7

iPhone Speaker Busted

The one where you hear calls/listen to voicemail..that speaker.Okay, I got syrup in the speaker, & tried getting it out with my nail & then used a toothpick. I got all of the syrup out, but when I checked my voicemail right after that happened, you could barely hear anything. I also made a phone call, still couldnt hear. I can plug my headphones in & hear. This also happened to one of my old phones (PalmCentro) but I fixed it by pushing the speaker back out from behind. iPhone you cant do that, because theres no way to push it out. I think it got pushed back like my Centros speaker did. How do I fix this? windows iPhone OS 3.1.3

Touching iphone drops reception with case

ok so i notice that every time I touch my iphone the bars would just drop to like 3 or 4 even with the case on. I even picked it up by wearing some gloves with the case on and it still would drop some bars. If i set it down on my desk i would get 5 bars or 4. So im wondering if i should go to apple and get it checked out to get a replacement. I also notice is when im in the car driving around i would get 5 bars for a few min then after a while just drop to 2 bars then back again to 4 or 5. So i would greatly appreciate you guys on what is the best thing to do for my phone.Thanks!

Major Problem iphone 4. I can hear them they cannot hear me.

This has been happening for the last 3 days. I make or receive a call on my iPhone 4 and within seconds the party on the other line cannot hear me at all. I hear them perfectly but they cannot hear me. Sometimes it happens right away sometimes it takes several seconds but my voice completely drops out. This happens 50 to 80% of the time.Went to the apple store and they checked it by using the recorder app which worked fine and then by making a call which also worked fine. They did not perform any diagnostics. Im on the road all day and my business depends on my phone. I am now afraid to make calls for fear of the person on the other side losing me mid sentence or not hearing me at all. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. This happens whether Im on speaker, mic or bluetooth.I upgraded to the latest software on Sunday and to no avail. Am I alone? 32gb iPhone 4 4.0.2 software. random clicks and moving dead spots iPhone 3G

Anyone know why my iphone 3 would have dead spots that appear sometimes, appear in different sections of the screen, and sometimes are not there? Also, there are times when my phone just clicks on stuff by itself. Ive tried cleaning the screen, not using a screen protector and even getting a new digitizer, but no luck. Any ideas? iPhone 4 Problem With Email and Spotlight

I have a problem... When i try to delete a discussion on Mail the application just quits and i have to hard reset to get it to work. And that is not all when i try to search in spotlight iphone for the weather a weird application called Web shows up as the top hit, and i have never used it so i try it immedietly after i do the iphone 4 shows the apple screen and restarts. So what do i do? iPhone 3G Music problem

I have just installed IOS 4.0.2i think its that one.But okay, i plug my headphones in and it slows my phone down so much. And when i go on the iPod and play music it speeds every song up so a 3minute song will finish in 10 seconds, i dont know why!? And it randomly pauses my music. How hot should phone be iPhone 4

So I bought the iphone 4 a couple weeks ago, and this being my first apple product i was kinda shocked to feel the kind of heat coming out of it. Ive read the forums, and people are saying, yes, the phone will heat up after use. But how hot exactly should it be before its considered unacceptable? The heat usually starts to get unbearable in my hands after about 5 min of usage (gaming, youtube) and it originates from somewhere on the right side of the phone, screen facing me. Problems syncing iPhone 4

Seems simple - to sync your phone, but I have had issues since purchase. After 3 hrs tech time and then time face to face in store, they gave me a new phone. It syncd right away, everything fine. Now having problem with the second phone.I did not sync the phone for a couple weeks, and went to sync it because my apps were not working (push the app on phone and nothing happens). When I tried to sync, I get errors again, some of which include:Internal device errorTiming outUnknown errorI have attempted to restore from back-up, and it errors out and wont let me do this. I have done the complete restore as well. Then when I attempt to sync, the errors are gone, but the sync does not occur. Itunes states it is syncing, and phone shows nothing. It never syncs.Also, anytime I connect the phone to computer itunes pops up with the set up your iphone page, which tells me it is never really recognizing the phone. Also note: I was told to take the time management off the USB hubs, as this might be creating a problem. This has not solved the problem.I am going back to the store today, but figured I would see what advice I could find here. HP dv6t 64 bit

iPhone 4 Car ChargerAux fits w Bumper Case

So Im looking for a new charger/aux connector for my iPhone 4 that fits the bumper case. I had a great one for my 3GS that I bought from Meritline for like $3 6 months ago. Still works great, but now with the bumper case it will not snap in. Any movement of the phone or car the cord will come out, but at least for now I can secure it on a blanket so it wont slide around or move and it usually wont fall out and will still play audio from my phone.Anyone know of one that will charge, play audio, and fit the bumper case? iPhone 4 iOS 4

Iphone 4 calling issues. screen wont blank out when on call

I am hoping someone can help me. I have just upgraded from iphone 3G to an Iphone 4. When I am on a phone call my face will touch the screen and activate other calls or actions on my phone such as facebook and text messaging. My old 3G phone screen used to black out when on a call so this problem didnt happen. my iphone 3G freaked out on me yesterday FOR NO REASON and said I had to plugged it into iTunes so I did. It said I needed to restore it so I did.
