Insufficient memory for OS4.3.1 update Fotos deleted library inaccessabl iPhone 4

Hello,I left my PC on over night to donwload OS4.3.1 with the iPhone attached. When looked at my phone in the morning it said: insufficient memory, please delete fotos or films. Before the update I belive during syncing it said I have a little more than 3Gb free (on the 32Gb version).I believe the update failed because it still says OS4.3(8F190). But the free memory in info is 0. I started iPod app to erase at least one movie, than it said it will index the library. When it finished indexing it said No content available / ýou can download music from iTunes. I have no acess to the library on the iPhone. On the other hand it still says 19 videos exist in info. Then I wanted to delete Fotos. Guess what, iPhone started to catalogize the fotos. And when it fihished about the last 100 fotos where missing. The total number of fotos also decreased in the info, so I have no hope to find them on the iPhone anymore. In opposite to library problems loosing fotos is a castastrophe because the are unique.Again Im very disspopinted from the iPhone. I would have expected that it is good practice to check if there is enough free space before one tries to do something space consuming. It seems that apple programmers violated this rule at least three times in a row (before start of uptdate, before indexing library and before cataloging of fotoes)So since I have nothing else todo, I can play around this evening, trying to get my iPhone back in a stable state and hoping that I can restore the fotos from the backup.PS. I just turned my phone of and on and still 0Gb free, no access to media. I hoped it frees the memory of the (supposed) failed iOS4.3.1 installation attempt.Apple iPhone programmers, learn programming! Such things must not happen. Not on such an easy platform.I will do a search in the evening how I can restore the data. But specific hints for this problem are always welcome.Reeboting the phone did not change anything either. It is posssible but very unlikely the some huge podcasts (like apple keynotes) where also downloaded at night and somehow collided memory wise with the update. Multimedia PC Windows XP Pro

iPhone 4 microphone alternatives

Hi,I have recently been looking into making a short film as I am currently a media student in England and figured the more practice I get the better. However due to costing I have figured my iPhone 4 is by far the best way to film these short films, due to its fantastic visual capabilities. However the microphone is actually pretty poor and would be completely useless for filming a conversation on a film.I have seen 3.5mm to XLR adaptors around and I have access to microphones, however I was interested as to what light you could shed on this for me regarding the best audio techniques to undertake this recording.I was personally thinking a £5 adaptor with a gun mic on a boom....RegardsMichael 2010 iMac 21" Mac OS X (10.6.3)

iPhone 4 correct video import process

OK so i understand the correct process for importing photos. They go in your camera roll, until you import them into iphoto then they get re synced back to the phone to the photos app. Kind of a digital representation of old fashioned getting your film developed. Now, how is video supposed to work - i cant figure this out. You shoot some video. It again goes into camera roll and is synced into iPhoto (???? even though its not a photo and is a video). Because this is video at this point nothing happens to it as it is not resynced back to your phone in a more organised place - iPhoto doesnt sync video to the photos app on your phone. Thought apple would have given video a home like photos live in the photo app, video perhaps lives in a video app or even iPod (same as other videos/films you have on your phone). Video just seems to float in no mans land does it not? MacBook Pro 2.66 4GB Mac OS X (10.6.4) 1TB Dual TC, iPhone 4 32GB

Videos wont sync iPhone 3G

Hey thereI am running a iPhone 3G on iOS 4.0 and using a windows machine. I have iTunes 9.2.1I have been trying for the last hour to sync a video onto my iphone. All the boxes are checked in the iphone menu to sync films, music videos podcasts and TV programs. The movie i want to sync is checked in iTunes and plays in iTunes. it is in mp4 format and there is plently of space on my iPhone. I have previously put movies and podcasts on my iphone with no problems I have googled this issue and tried all the solutions i found which are:Changing the media type to TV program or filmChecking Manually manage music and videos and dragging video across.. nothing happened when i dragged movie overHighlighting the movie and clicking Change to iPhone iPod version from Advanced menu. which might work if it ddnt cause iTunes to crash every single timeUnsyncing all movies by unchecking the boxes.. which resulted in all movies off my iPhone which i am now unable to sync backI have uninstalled itunes and reinstalledI REALLY dont want to restore my iphone so this is last resort. i shuldnt have to restore every time i want to put a new video on my phone!!This seems to be a wide scale issue and i think apple should sort it out!!! Migration iPhone 3G

Good evening,I have recenty migrated to Windows 7 Professional. I previously had an iPhone synchronised with Windows XP Professional using iTunes.Other than backing up 29GBs of music and 1.2TB of films and TV shows, is there anyway of migrating my library including apps into Windows 7 seemlessly.I have setup my iTunes on 7 x64 now, and I have authorised my new os. I currently dual boot and have imported my library and purchases. The applications, music, films and tv tabs in iTunes are not ticked when syncing my phone and upon ticking these boxes - it states that all applications and settings/music/films will be removed if I continue. Obviously, it shouldnt do this as it is still my pc, my phone, my authorised account, my music and my films, so I am clearly doing something wrong. I do not want to lose my settings for the applications - especially quickoffice and others alike as they contain data that I need.Does anyone know of a way I can set this up so that it is seemless?(Also, I cannot find an email address for apple support directly, is anyone able to point me in the right direction? Hence the reason for posting this to the community)Your assistance with this problem would be greatly appreciated,Kind regards,Dominic PC Windows 7 x64 Win7

Extra memory 16G with over 20G stored on it iPhone 3G

Does anyone know anything about the memory in an iPhone? Mine is suppose to be a 16G. Over Christmas I purchased a few new apps and films from iTunes. So to make space I deleted all my old films. Also gained lots from Apples 12 days app so my memory was full again. After trying to transfer purchases and back up in iTunes, something happened but my purchasesdidnt transfer instead all the videos I had previously deleted from my phone were restored andI now have over 20G of stuff! How is this possible?! Are all iPhones 32 or 64G until they are given their software? This should be a great thing but now I still need to sync and when I do it will go back to being a 16G again. Has anyone else come across anything like this? Thanks Warne00 3G 16G iPhone OS 3.1.2

preparing to buy an iphone 3G

After my Nokia N73 became boring and bulky and my now LG K700 needs recharging after only 2 days and after every time I take a photo. Being a mac fan and owner, was thinking it might be a better decision to buy an iphone after all. Can owners advise me on battery life, which would be my main reason for changing phones. If you take a pic, does it still have plenty of battery time left? How many days does it last if youve just had a few calls. Mine are usually fairly short, under 15 mins. My ipod lasts for days, unless I watch films which use up the battery more quickly. But thats fair. An LGKF700 should not need recharging every other day and watching like a hawk. I also like the web access free. G4 Mac OS X (10.4.11) ipod classic 08

Power Support Anti Glare Film iPhone 3G

Hey, okay so I got the iPhone on July 11th and a few days later got the Anti Glare film. I had problems with the first one so i had to use the second one. Its worked like a charm! However, I recently got my iPhone replaced from Rogers after having tons of issues. Now I bought a pack of the same films today, and have had nothing but bad luck. I screwed up the first one and then the second one:(. I realize this is indeed my fault, but does anyone know a way to clean the films to try again? and by clean I mean the sticky side to.Thank you!Austin Black Macbook 2.4Ghz, 2gig Ram, 250HD Mac OS X (10.5.4) iPhone 3G 16gig Black

Questions about iPhone. In Japan and never even touched an iPhone before 3G

Hey everybody. I am an American, but Ive been living in japan for about 8 years now. I have an iPod Touch, but I have never even seen a real iPhone!!! (Havent been to the States in about two years!!!)Im going to buy a 16GB iPhone 3G when it comes out on the 11th, but I have some questions for all of you current (lucky) owners and people in the know. Question 1:Does the iPhone pair via Bluetooth to Macs? I used to have a Vodafone (now Softbank) and when somebody called me, I could see who it was on my Cinema Display and answer through the computer.Question 2:Is the camera good? Some Japanese phones are up to 5.1 megapixel, but Im not impressed with image quality so far.Question 3:I use .Mac and get a lot of Spam these days. I really have to rely on SpamSieve to catch it all. With push mail, should I leave my computer on all the time (right now I leave it sleeping when not in use) so that I dont get tons of Spam pushed to me? Will that even work? Is Spam filtering improving with Mobile Me?Question 4:I want a film screen protector right away, so I wonder if current iPod Touch films will work? Is the screen and button the same as the current iPod Touch?Question 5:I have no idea about hands free options. I assume there are Bluetooth headsets and the like, but what if you want to listen to the iPod a lot? Is there a stereo earphone solution that has a Mic built in? OK! Thanks everybody for taking the time to clue me in!!! Im looking forward to getting my first iPhone!!!Message was edited by: whokilledkaji Mac Pro Mac OS X (10.5.3)
