Hi, I recently deleted my iTunes because it had grown out of control. So I downloaded and installed a new version. But now I cant add music to my iPhone , or even delete music from it. Everything is shaded out. It is recognising it, however, because I just installed the latest firmware.Any ideas? Macbook 2.4 ghz Mac OS X (10.5.5) white

I downloaded a ringtone from the ITunes store on my phone (3g) it was the first time I had done it and I set it as my main ringtone. After 2 days it stopped working and is no longer showing up on my phone. However when I synced my phone to my computer it showed up under my ringtones in ITunes, but its still not showing up on my phone. After the sync a message also popped up saying I was not authorized to play this particular song on my phone and Im not sure why? I downloaded it from the Itunes stores and the full song still works just no ringtone (purchased separately)Sorry if this is confusing I just need some help! Thanks!Message was edited by: katiewej IPhone 3G 16 GB iPhone OS 3.1.2
Hi all. I have purchased a macbook and now am faced with the dilemma of trying to figure how to transfer the info from my iphone ( music, contacts, photos etc) to the new computer. Previously my iphone is backed up by syncing with my windows run pc. I have backed up all the files from pc to external hardrive but do not fully understand what happens with the iphone information patricularly any things purchased. I have extensive photos and music and contact information and these things are my primary concern. If there is any tech savvy soul who can guide us it would be most appreciated. I am an older person trying to find how to do these things with not a lot of background understanding. I find the info in apple help still confusing . Cheers macbook Mac OS X (10.6.1)
Is there a way that I can save my media messages as a ringtone on my iphone 3g 3g iPhone OS 3.1.2
This is a complaint. It is unacceptable that itunes has deleted apps from my phone that I paid for and more specifically (since I know I can download those apps again) it has deleted my Data. Stories of iTunes deleting all the songs from peoples ipods, itouch, iphones have been around for as long as those devices have been, it was annoying for those involved, but unless you were trying to copy all the songs from your friend (obviously not allowed) you could get the songs back. Apple got away with this because they could claim it was copyrighted music.Let me explain what I have done and why I am annoyed. I installed windows again on my machine. I read a little and learnt I should deauthroise my previous itunes account to prevent it from using up my 5 accounts. Nothing about apps. I have synced a few times but must have had sync apps unchecked. This evening I checked it and it said something like Do you want to copy all the apps from this computer to your iphone i thought no this picture doesnt look like all my apps maybe I dont want that. I unchecked the box and it said You have chosen not to sync apps all apps will be removed from your phone do you wish to continue. That sounded even scarier so I left it checked (I now know what I should have done was unplugged my iphone at this stage - but 20/20 hindsight is no good to me now). my phone synced and I have lost a whole heap of my older free and purchased apps. I read afterwards I should have transfered my apps by selected explicity to do this on the file menu prior to syncing (what!!!). I have now lost my apps (I know I can download them again) but much much much much more worrying and of a vastly larger scale than previously, I have lost the data that went with them, gone forever. This is not acceptable that I should be given a choice between two alternatives by itunes both of which are going to delete my data. This has to be changed. This is unaccepetable. IPhone iPhone OS 3.1.3
I updated to iPhone OS 3.1.3 last week. Yesterday I was listening to music and wanted to turn off shuffle and noticed the repeat and shuffle buttons were missing from ipod play window. Can anybody confirm this for me? If so, is this a bug, or is there a different way to change shuffle/repeat settings now? PC iPhone OS 3.1.3
There is one thing stopping me from buying an iPhone and Im really hoping somebody has a fix for me. On my Blackberry, Im able to assign a ringtone and volume to certain people...making it possible to switch my phone to silent when I go to sleep, and only 2 people will wake me up if they call. I work nights and am on call. I CANT buy an iPhone until this is possible :0( Windows XP

I have 2005 grand cherokee with the Bluetooth uconnect system. The iPhone conects great and phone use is great. However, only handsfree functions. Today I discovered that in the voice memo app it gives the Bluetooth audio option for source. When selected it plays audio voice notes through the car stereo. It seems crazy that this same option is not available on the iPhone within iPod function. I know the iPhone is only seeing the uconnect as a handsfree but why shouldnt we be able to play audio (music) through the handsfree as a2dp functionality with the iPhone is pathetic. Does anyone know of a way to open up this option in iPod or if apple is planning to. Phone is 3G. iphone iPhone OS 3.0.1

Last night I set up my 2 computers (desktop and laptop) to home share and authorized both. When I try to add purchased music to the library on the laptop (from the desktop), some of the albums will add fine, but some will say that the computer is not authorized. I dont remember which computer I was on when I purchased each album, but that shouldnt matter with sharing, should it? I authorized both computers and still get the error on some albums. A while ago, I had to move all my music on the laptop (moved it all from the C: drive to the D: drive b/c I ran out of space). Would that make a difference? I can still see all my purchased music in the purchased folder, but cant add the albums from there either. I cant seem to add music right to my iphone from the desktop when on the laptop either. Isnt that what the sharing should allow me to do?Im running Vista if that makes a difference. Please help, I want to get my music on my phone! Thanks. iphone 3G Windows Vista
This question is very simple. Why can I not manage my own music on my iphone? I think the answer would be: 1) Click on Summary Tab 2) Manually manage music and videos 3) music tab - then manage. But No. That does not work. my Iphone rather fills up entirely with as much music as possible leaving me no space to download apps. In fact it will not even show me a list of music currently on my iphone. Why?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I created several custom ringtones in December and synced them to my iPhone. A couple of weeks ago I unchecked the Christmas songs so they wouldnt sync. After that all my custom ringtones disappeared from the phone even though they were still showing under the ringtone tab and some were checked. I have tried everything from deauthorizing/reauthorizing my computer, to deleting the ringtones. I have been able to get one ringtone into iTunes, but it wont sync. Can anyone out there help me. There are normally 2 ways that we can get iPhone ringtones. The first one is buying directly from iTunes store for $0.99 each; alternatively, we can use iTunes to create custom iPhone ringtones, but keep in mind that all the music must have already been purchased, and after making a ringtone, we will have to pay another $0.99. Although these two methods are convenient, they all come with fees. No one wants to pay for a song twice to get a ringtone. I have just begun using the iPhone 3GS and theres one thing thats frustrating me. I cant seem to be able to block certain individual numbers. Or does anyone know if theres an app that can do this? iPhone 3GS 32GB iPhone OS 3.1.2 MacBook 2.4 Ghz

iPhone just deleted all my music, or at least wont display it on my iPod app. Looking at the available space as detailed in Settings, it appears the music is still there, I just cant access it.Strangely, my podcasts seem to be behaving strangely too as they duplicate themselves every time I open podcasts folder. For example, if there were 4 episodes of a podcast on there to start, next time there would be 8, 12, 16 etc.I suspect this will be resolved with a good ol fashioned syn and maybe a reset but an irritation all the same. Anyone else had a similar experience? Is it some kind or virus or a known bug with one of the apps? iPhone 3G 8GB iPhone OS 3.1.2

Greetings. Ive been having an issue with my iPhone forgetting where it’s at in a song when I exit the player and go back later.I play long mp3s, up to three or four hours. I listen to about 20 minutes, then I pause it, use the home button to get back to the main screen and go about my day. I do this several times a day. About once every five times, when i go back into the player, it has forgotten where I’m at in the mp3 and it’s at the beginning of the song. It’s extremely frustrating to the point that when I pause it I have to try and remember the counter in case it forgets where it’s at.I am running the 8 gig, 3rd generation using 3.1.2. It’s been happening for as long as I’ve had the phone. About a year in March. Please help! I cant take it anymore trying to find where ive left off in the mp3! Sometimes it takes forever scanning back and forth! Dell XPS M1710 iPhone OS 3.1.2
