No sound on appfunction iPhone 5

Hi guys i got my iPhone 5 about 2 week after launch and about 3 weeks later i lost all sound clicks from text's, game apps, youtube wouldn't play any videos and it worked perfectly fine when i went to bed wake up in the morning to this.  I rebooted the phone and this resolved the issue, the phone was not in silent mode via settings or via the slider at the top of the phone.  the phone would be working fine for about 3 weeks then this would happen again same issues as above this went on till about the 14th December and Apple decided to change my phone now its happening again.  I am at a lose end does anybody know a fix or heard of this before as i am sure this problem could not happen too 2 different phones ?  Thanks

Camera app doesn t work iPhone 3G

I got my first iPhone as a gift the other day (32GB iPhone 5 from Verizon). However, the camera app on it does not work. When I launch it, either the closed shutter is displayed, or the screen is completely black and none of the "buttons" (i. e. Options and switching between front and rear cameras) work. I have tried completely closing out of the app and doing a restore of my iPhone through iTunes, but it still does not work. I have a case, but the lens is completely visible. Any help would be appreciated!

Can I trade in my 4s with Apple Care

Lately I've been having probelms with my iPhone 4s. I bought it in July of last year. The problems include: my lock button is jambed, the phone thinks that I have headphones in when I don't, and applications such as Camera and safari constantly crash. The screen also does not always respond when I touch it and it does not ring or vibrate when I recieve calls sometimes (I did check to see if my ringer was on, along with vibrating in Sounds under Settings). I have Apple Care+. Can I trade it in for a refurbished phone? Also, for an extra fee would I be able to trade it in for a refurbished iPhone 5?

I have compared it with to a few demo phone from different stores, and some friends, and my iphone is the loudest. Anyone else got this problem? iPhone Battery Woes iPhone 5

I have an iPhone 5 and I love it. It can do so many great things, all except for one. The battery will lose about 20-30% charge when left idle for a while. For example: when I go to sleep at night, my charge is 50%. When I wake up, it is down to 31%. Is there a way to correct this issue besides closing all active apps?

My built in apps have disappeared how can person reinstall safari Siri or App Store on an iphone 4S

I have lost my built in apps and do not know how to reinstall them on my phone.  The safari and App Store icons are gone.  I can no longer surf the net on my phone and the little "microphone" key has also disappeared when I send text messages etc.  I now have to actually type the message instead of speaking into my phone.  Siri has also vanished.  Any advice?

Take your time to write a thoughtful comment on a video, hit send, and it's gone, "youtube is not available". It happens frequently on the iphone app yet never happens on the desktop site. This bug has followed the youtube app across multiple phones (OG & 3G), multiple OS updates, and still happens randomly. Not having a feature is better than one that frequently doesn't work, and frustrates, as well as wastes your time...I'm so ready to checkout the latest from HTC  I copied this question from an archived thread from 2009. I'm having the same issue. I comment on youtube a couple of times and it's fine, the third time it completely blocks me. It's very frustrating. Looking at the replies from 4 years ago it seems that its definitely the app that has the issue, not the main website. Canadian iPhone 5 in UK

Hello, I bought an iPhone 5 from the Canadian Apple store a few months back. I have just got back to the UK and inserted my UK sim card. I'm on Giff Gaff (O2) I can still make and recieve calls and texts. But most of my apps aren't working. Nor are any of my browsers. iMessage still works over 3G so i dont understand why my apps and safari arent sending or redceiveing data. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance, Tom

apps all gone iPhone 3G

I have an iPhone 3g and my wifi wasn't working at all! The wifi button wasn't working like I couldn't press it at all, so my brother told me to erase my iPhone. I backed it up and erased my iPhone, it didn't work so he told me to jailbreak it because he thought maybe since my iPhone was originally jailbroken it might just need it to be jailbroken again. I did that and when I looked at it again ALL apps were gone! There were no settings, safari, or app store nothing, it was just a blank page! (A blank page with, oddly enough, my same wallpaper still) When I tried to search up things on the iPhone it was found, but it said it was not loaded at all. Help anyone??

Two reasons why I would not by an iPhone again

Hi all, yesterday I had two requirements from my iPhone 4 and none of them was fulfilled, so I decided that this is my last Apple device. If any of you can change my mind, go ahead a try. 1st, I wanted to copy a file (pdf) from my local drive at home and then open it in ezPDF Reader. So I used NetPortalLite to access my drive and downloaded the file inside the NetPortalLite. But when I wanted to move the file to ezPDF app it didn't let. Why it is so complicated to move files between apps? I have tried to copy in NetPortalLite, then paste in ezPDF Reader... it didn't work! 2nd, I wanted to access my local drive at home to run a video file. This function is available only in paid apps, although other mobile OS have this ability. Why it is not possible to browse local drives directly from the iOS or safari? Is it so hard to implement this function to the iOS and make it available by SMB://IP_ADDRESS or \IP_ADDRESS? Thanks

I recently purchased an iPhone 5 (Monday, May 6th) and am convinced that the battery is defective. I attempted to get the phone replaced by AT&T since it is within their 14-day Return/Exchange policy, but of course they denied me based on it being a "technical" issue and therefore a problem I need to take up with Apple. How come it takes longer to download iTunes youtube and other apps on my WiFi. Shouldn t it be faster iPhone 3G

I was downloading songs from iTunes with my wifi and noticed that it would take up to 16 minutes to download ONE song. As with 3G, it downloads more than one song 5x faster. But uses up my data. Can you tell me what I can do to change this...

Sound issue in iphone 4s

iPhone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used

I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me.  About two months ago, lines began showing up in safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped.  It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again.  It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back.  I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff.  SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty.  I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Updating from iOS 6.0.1 to 6.1.4 battery life iPhone 5

Before I purchased my iPhone 5 on 12/31 I read a lot of reviews saying how updating the version of iOS from the original one that comes with the iPhone 5 has a bad effect on battery life. Because of the countless reviews featuring this complaint, I have never updatd my software from iOS 6.0.1 since I got my phone over 4 months ago in fear of experiencing future battery life problems. 6.1.4 came out a week or so ago and I'm wondering if the battery life issue has been addressed by now. If I choose to update, will my iPhone eat up battery life faster? I am very meticulous with closing apps and being able to go over 24 hours without having to charge my iPhone. Please advise. Thanks!

Multiple iPhone 4S issues continuing

I am tired of my iPhone 4S already after suffering through issues upon issues with the device. My screen is having issues now where at a moment's chance it goes dim. I have to reset the device to get the brightness back to normal. I've tried restoring without any luck of this resolving. Another gripe I have is that I'm continuing to have issues with apps like Mail, safari, and other Apple installed apps just continuously force closing. I've been sending emails back and forth on my iPhone only to have Mail force close and I lose everything in my message. The phone acts sluggish and performs worse than previous 4S devices I've owned. I've had issues upon issues across multiple iPhone 4S devices. The device I have currently is my 5th iPhone 4S and even tho its less than a few months old after it was sent to me after multiple filler iPhones of refurb models from the store, I continue to experience issues that make me use my iPhone less and less as it becomes more unreliable with the crashes and multiple restores. My closest store is not within close distance so that's made owning an iPhone with issues difficult as not every thread on the communities forum touch on half the problems I continue to have. Thankfully at least Siri knows where I'm located compared to my other devices where she always thought I was in Pittsburgh where I picked the phone up at my nearest store over an hour and a half away. Now everything just seems to be more of a deficiency with iOS and the hardware than anything. Obviously there must be something wrong with the latest stocks of 4S devices if my issues are continuing. When I restore I'm always setting up as a new device. I'm never downloading or redownloading anything from my Mac or PC. Everything is just redownloading apps from iCloud within the App Store and having a ton of missing photos in my photo stream. I just don't understand what is wrong with my iPhone. I never experienced these kind of issues with my iPhone 3GS so its hard to swallow how terrible the 4S has performed with every single device I keep getting. I'm at a loss on what I can do. Does anyone have any tips I should try that Apple hasn't provided me with to fix or at least band-aid the issue long enough till I can upgrade with my carrier?

My battery drains VERY quickly I'm having to plug in twice day iPhone 5

Hi Its becoming incresingly annoying that I'm having to charge my iPhone twice a day. Its always 100% at the start of the day and come around tea time its down to around 30%. I do use it for whatsapp but thats about it during the day and after having an iPhone 3 & 4 I've never experienced such issues. I was told the battery life was improved with the iPhone 5?  My main point is that its not always been like this and with having over a year left on my contract I need to nip this in the bud before it gets any worse. Things I have tried so far (To no avail) closing all apps that are open.Lowered my screen brightness (I can only just see it)  Any suggestions as neither of the above two have worked. Cheers Gareth

Iphone google redirect virus iPhone 4S

I have iPhone 4S and using chrome app. Google recently give me a lot of problem, it redirect to me to some website I never heard before such as http://corp.kaltura.com/. It was different website couple days ago. I tried on safari, both app will have problem at the same time. If I can use google, safari and chrome will both work, if google has problem, both will have problem (google only). I tried on search box or type google.com, clear all the histories and cookies. Could not solve problem.  Sometimes turn off the iphone then turn it back on will temperately solve the problem, but it come back again. Yahoo search engine has no problem at all. Anyone know how to fix that PS: sometimes I get google authentication requirement, but this redirect issue is not link to that. They are happen at two different times

iPhone 4 battery life Why it die so fast and what can I

I have had an iPhone 4 for a little over two years now and feel like recently, my battery is dying so fast.  When I go out for the day it always dies before I get home, what I think it is, could be that I take a lot of pictures and use many picture apps, but I don' think that it has always been this bad. NO matter what I do, when I go out to shoot at the park, it dies within a few hours. I hardly use it for other things besides that and it still dies. Yesterday when I left the house at 12, and came home at 5, it was dead.  I did all of the things I read about that I need to do, like closing the apps, etc.  I don't get it, is it me, or the battery being old or what? Should I buy a portable charger or do I need a new phone? I have a question about charging the battery as well. A coworker of mine told me that you need to let your battery die out every time, and then charge it, but I never do that. Airplay Mirroring and HBO Go Audio Problems iPhone 3G

Hi folks,  Great news a month ago about HBO Go's support of Airplay in-app. However, whenever I try to stream content to my Apple TV, I only receive video. I'm using the latest Apple TV firmware (5.2.1) and an iPhone 4s with 6.1.3. Oddly enough the HBO "Intro" video standard on this application will stream with audio, but main features never have audio. Likewise, Other applications supporting Airplay (youtube, etc.) will successfully stream both video and audio to the Apple TV. Any idea what's going on? Thanks so much!

'other' bar taking up too much space on iphone

ok i've seen this brought up a lot on here so it's definitely happened to other people, where the 'other' bar that shows up on itunes when it shows what's taking up space on your phone takes up way too much space. my phone has 8GB of space (which is apparently only 6.34GB). my audio files are only taking up 2.66GB. i don't have any apps on my phone because i thought if i deleted them it might do something but it didn't, and i can't download any more. i can't use the camera at all. the other bar is taking up 3.66GB of space on my phone and i have no idea what to do. i've searched online for like 2 weeks trying to find a way to get rid of it but it's still there. i already tried restoring it and it didn't do anything. i tried the 'phone clean' thing and it didn't do anything. i saw this comment on a discussion on here that said to go into advanced settings under the safari settings and delete all the web history and i did that and i thought it fixed it but it didn't. i'm still looking up things that could work but i honestly have no idea what to try anymore. is there anything i can do to get rid of it ??

Iphone 5 dust under screen

Hi,  Its been 2 months since i got my iphone 5 and i see dust getting accumulated under my screen. Its not a tiny spec or something but i see a lot of dust. So its pretty annoying to see that everytime i use the phone with a light background like browsing on safari or something.  Does this count as a manufacturing defect ? Can i get a replacement for this ? Thanks

Dying iPhone 5

I have been having multiple problems with my iphone 5 and ive only had it for 6 months. I have been restoring it to factory settings on a regular basis however it still has been having problems (more and more frequent.      #1 Teathering. I have been having trouble teathering off of my phone. (i tried several devices to rule my macbook out of the troubleshooting, nothing works) No device picks up my wifi or bluetooth personal hotspot. My macbook does not even recognize my USB connection in network settings.      #2 My wifi on the phone is also a hassle. It has been becoming more and more intermittant, but rarely works. I have tried multiple networks with the same result.      #3 My phone has become generally slow especially for safari and mail. On wifi, they dont work at all. on 3G, and LTE, the phone has also become very slow and often won't load at all. As stated above, restoring used do fix everything but that fix has become very short term, and often hasn't been working at all. Can someone help me?

7 different faults-it hardware failure iPhone 4S

I've had my 4S since January 2012.  All was well for about a year, and then the fun began.1) When the weather got colder (Less than five or six degrees), the phone would suddenly claim to have a flat battery, and turned itself off.  Plugging in an external battery pack brought it back to life.  Taking it back inside a warm building would bring it back to life again.  2) About twice a month, it crashes, and wipes all my contacts/calendar data.  I started backing up to iCloud, so then it would restore from there, but muddle my contacts' photos up.3) It refuses to sync with iTunes.  It says there's not enough memory.  Sometimes on the phone, sometimes on my PC.4) At least once a day, it loses the ability to join any mobile network.  Turning it off and on again usually allows it to rejoin my network (T Mobile).5) Instead of T Mobile, it randomly likes to show my operator name as 000-0000.6) It helpfully closes all my safari tabs if I minimise safari and use another app.7) The GPS is failing, which is a real nuisance because I use Nike+ for my daily jog. T Mobile's tech help were not very much help as soon as they realised I'd had the phone for over a year, and was therefore no longer covered by their warranty.  They reckoned it was a hardware failure.  I've purchased Apple Care today, and booked a Genius Bar appointment for Friday.  Does anyone have experience of any of these problems?

iPhone 5 eBay and certain websites won't work unless on WiFi.

As the subject says, my iPhone 5 software 6.1.3 has been acting weird, beyond a constant battery drain, recently I have noticed that my eBay app will not work/connect unless I am on WiFi.  It's also the same for some websites on safari, one being www.tfw2005.com (a transformers fan site I always go to).  I just noticed this the other day.  I've tried resetting my networking settings, hard-reset, deleting the app and reinstalling and nothing.  I'm not sure why it would single out that one website either.  I get the N1 error can't connect after trying to use the eBay app and TFW site.  Any suggestions?

So I've had the black iPhone 5 since October and only recently has the power button been a little off. I tried finding solutions for this online and the problem can be displayed in this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4uSROJwU_w Sometimes it works, but more than half the time clicking the power button on the right side will cause it to either not respond or cause it to blink (if locked) or lock then turn back on instantly (if trying to lock and screen is on). Left side seems to work fine but I'd just like to know what the cause is and if it's due to hardware issues covered by the one year warranty.

iMessage buggy since iOS 6.1.3 update iPhone 5

Ever since i updated my phone my iMessage has been super buggy. I am not recieving imessages in group conversations or individual ones.. & on the senders side it is showing that it is "delivered" to my phone... I have the iphone 4 on telus.. but I am not the only one with this problem I have multiple friends who have the iPhone 4s & 5 on telus and rogers who are having this issue as well.  On top of the imessage issues my battery usage is decreasing faster than usual and my apps keep closing... Bought an iPhone 5 from Dubai week ago and am having constant problem with touchscreen going haywire. It starts flickering and apps keep opening and closing. Did hard reset restore numerous times same issue. experiencing same issue

No device is "bulletproof". Basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until te issue is resolved.  If the problem continues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Hi, Yesterday I lost my iphone 5 which I bought 3 months back... I filled a police complaint, but i am not very hopeful with them. As Indian police will never make a move to find a cell phone. Anyways, Fortunately the "find my iphone" app was there in the phone and the location services were enabled with data. I tried to find it out from icloud.com portal but cell seems to be offline. And on calling the cell it is switched off. The only thing which I did not do in my iphone was to set a passcode. I am not sure how does the app behaves if some one restarts the phone. Is it possible for the thief to erase all data despite the app being active on the phone? Is it possible for the thief to use the phone by reseting it to factory setting without me getting location of the phone? I saw in one of the youtube tutorials that the phone will switch on and it ill try to find the data network, and if it finds data then it will send me intimation and blocks the cell. however, what is the scenario if the thief dont use the data and put on the phone? Or if he uses a SIM that does not have data connection? Can they reuse my phone. Can I do anything to prevent them using my iphone. I am trying to get my phone's IMEI number on tracking but dont know if it works before they reprogram my cell.( if at all they have so much brain). Please share your comments, views and suggestions and let me know the answers to the questions which I have asked. Thanks Abhishek Sinha

HELP Problem with iPhone 4 screen color Discoloration and Image Persistence

Hi guys! I had this problem about 3 months ago. I started having this when I took a screen shot of a game then suddenly after the flash, the colors changed.Yesterday it came back to normal for the first time but after several minutes, it went back to the distorted colos mode.  Here are some pictures of the actual screen condition. You can see the problem here. The icons have a bit of a dark shade in their middle parts, but when I touch and select an icon, it shows their normal colors.*Look at the VIDEO ICON, PHOTO ICON and PHONE ICON.As you can see in this image, it's like on a thermal camera mode. LOL! it also has a large amount of image persistence in it.  In this image, you can see that the lower part of the screen is missing (blackened) and has some image persistence too. You can also see the difference in color of the messages tab.Image color is different and has image persistence too. The colors are different and the screens bottom part is darkened.  One thing I noticed here is that when the accesive touch button menu is active, the icons behind it get their normal colors back.*take a look a the APP STORE ICON, MAIL ICON, safari ICON, CONTACTS ICON and PASSBOOK ICON    Any help guys? Is there any software that can fix this or any method you know? If there's anyone who have the same problem and has encountered the same problem, kindly reply and post some solutions.Thanks in advanced for those who will read this post and give me some answers!
