I created several custom ringtones in December and synced them to my iphone. A couple of weeks ago I unchecked the Christmas songs so they wouldnt sync. After that all my custom ringtones disappeared from the phone even though they were still showing under the ringtone tab and some were checked. I have tried everything from deauthorizing/reauthorizing my computer, to deleting the ringtones. I have been able to get one ringtone into iTunes, but it wont sync. Can anyone out there help me. Intermittent 3g without moving around iphone

I had my O2 phone unlocked to use on orange UK just before Christmas. Everything worked fine for weeks- the 3g was sometimes patchy when moving around the city as to be expected but when I stayed still it was pretty reliable. About 2 weeks ago I noticed my 3g started to drop down to nothing instantly after being at full bars the minute before, then it would be back to full a minute later and so on. Another thing that is strange is that sometimes I have a full 3g signal yet i still get the no data connection error in safari and pages will not load at all. This is happening every couple of days right now and its so frustrating - I went 2 hours with absolutely no data over 3g or GSM the other day!Yet another strange thing is the 3g switch itself. Sometimes I will turn 3g off and yet the signal wont drop out and come back up as GSM or EDGE as it usually does, it remains on 3g! Its almost as if the phone thinks it is still getting a 3g signal when it isnt OR the mechanism for actually changing the signal type isnt responding to the phones interface ie the switch. Sometimes the 3g symbol changes instantly to the o GSM symbol without any change in the level which again, suggests a confusion between signal types as it is unlikely the 3g would physically drop to nothing whilst GSM just happens to be at exactly the same signal strength. I went to the apple store a week ago - they ran diagnostics and reported that my phone was able to pick up 92% of available signal. They suggested I get a new sim and do a deep restore on the phone and set up as new phone both of which I have done. I went back today and they said as I was out of warranty (even though this handset is only 3 months old as it replaced another fault!) I would have to pay £139 for a replacement. My concern is that this is not a handset fault but a firmware update fault- I have read many other similar stories that all happened after the last 3.1 update which included a carrier settings update so Im dubious about forking out £139 when I cant be sure what is at fault. Also I know nobody else with an iphone on Orange UK to compare with. Voice calls and SMS are not affected by these problems. I just wanted to see if anyone else is having the same problems and if so, if they have come to find a solution. After my iphone is charged, it will only hold its charge for about 4 hours before going completely dead. My husband has the same phone with approximately the same amount of usage, and his will stay charged MUCH longer. Ive already had the phone replaced by the Genius bar. Delayed text messages and voicemail notifications iphone

Hi all, I am really at my wits end with this problem. For about a week and a half, I have been having a severe text message delay. My sent messages go out fine, and are received immediately, but I have been receiving messages anywhere from a few hours to a few days late. These messages are from both people on AT&T and otherwise. When the messages do come through, they come in bursts--one message right after the other as if they were all just sent. The only luck I have had in receiving my messages in a more timely fashion has been to keep turning off and turning back on my phone.Additionally, I have been having similar issues receiving voicemail. Someone could leave me a voicemail in the morning and I wont even be aware there was a message until well into the evening. Again, turning off the phone and turning it back on is the only thing that seems to work. I have spent countless hours on the phone with both AT&T and iphone tech support over the past 4 days, and each day I am told all set, the problems fixed!, and yet it persists. I have already reset my phone, completely restored my phone, etc., etc. Also I have not changed locations recently (that might affect the service, for example), and this problems persists even when I have a full signal. Earlier today, AT&T support completely reset my voicemail, and that has not fixed the situation, either. Please if anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. AT&T seems to have no more options for me, and naturally they blame the phone, and iphone support blames AT&T, and ultimately nothing is getting fixed. Hi,For some time now, my Recently Added playlist does not sync properly. Obviously, the most recent song should be at the top of the list and to ensure that, I have selected the date column in iTunes. I then manually sync the playlist to the iphone and still in iTunes, when clicking on the iphone icon and selecting the playlist, the date column is selected and all the songs are in order. However, when I then select the playlist using my iphone, all songs appear to be in a disorder. They are not arranged in any logical way at all, not by letter, artist, album or anything, but just randomly.Any suggestions on how I can fix this? As per a previous topic, I now have the official carrier unlock applied to my iphone 3g (originally only on o2). Reason for requesting unlock is that Ive gone abroad for a month.Im having some problems with the implementation of the unlock. The first time I put the Sim in, it requested the phone be connected to iTunes, which I duly did. The phone then appeared to be successfully unlocked - and indeed, a Vodaphone NZ sim worked fine.However, when I put my phone into airplane mode, or swap to my O2 sim card and back to the Voda one, the phone then re-presents the please connect to iTunes, different SIM installed screen - and wont let me do anything until I do.Anyone got any ideas on making this unlock actually stick on the device? I have noticed two problems: 1. My email has stopped pushing. My inbox only updates when I directly access it. I am no longer notified of new email.2. Okay, So Ive had my iphone 3g for a while now and have had NO problems until recently various files (music and photos) have been copying over CORRUPTED! Ill explain this through an example - the song War Ensemble By Slayer1st time sync - the intro is corrupt at 00:13 run through, then goes back to normal2nd time sync - the solo is messing up, as is the ending (at 1:22 and 4:04)3rd time sync - the second solo is messing up (3:45)4th time sync - this song is fine! xD... problems with SMS after S swapping iphone

Hi,I am raising this query after exhausting other channels, Ive spoken with telephone support and visited a Genius in London who suggested I post here and also email apple (already done).I have had my iphone 3GS 16GB unlocked (officially) by O2. I am a flight attendant and regularly travel to the US so have purchased myself an AT&T Pay As You Go SIM card to use whilst in the country to avoid roaming costs. I have connected my iphone to iTunes with the AT&T SIM in to download the latest AT&T Carrier Settings.My iphone works perfectly, as expected, when in the US, I experience no issues at all. The problem I have experienced is when I return to the UK and place my O2 SIM back in the handset. If I attempt to reply to any SMS message in my message history who has contacted me whilst I have been in the US the message send will fail. To be clear, this only effects me if someone has messaged me on my US number whilst I had that SIM in my iphone. I have found 2 work arounds for this. Firstly I can wait until the person messages me (or SMS them through an application like Skype to prompt them to reply), after I have received a message from them whilst in the UK I am able to reply as normal. The second option is to delete the conversation and start a new SMS conversation. Once I have done this I am able message and respond as normal but it does mean I lose my message history which is far from ideal.I assume there is some kind of code within the messages which is causing this problem, possibly off the top of my head I was thinking maybe the phone is being forced to try and reply through AT&Ts Message Centre (This is just a guess) However I can confirm this is NOT an isolated incident, I have a colleague who is in the same situation as me and is experiencing the exact same issue so it is not unique to my handset and does appear to be a bug of some form.Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I did have a very quick search through the forums and nothing similar came up. Can anyone suggest a fix or any other work arounds? problems recieving and Phoning out iphone

My I phone screen is cracked but it works perfectly fine no delay, nothing. I am having problems, it will say I have full or partial service and/or wifi, but the phone will not dial out sometimes or I will not be able to recieve calls or texts. The only way I can get it to work sometimes is if I turn airplane mode on for a few seconds and let the service reset. Could this possibly be my antenna or another problem. I am having the screen replaced and will replace the antenna if that is the problem. Apple claims the antenna is exposed at the top of the screen but everything I look up shows the antenna at the bottom of the screen so they are not help, I think they just want me to spend a lot of money for a brand new phone. Hi All,Currently I have the iphone on a 2 year contract with o2, Im finding that people ring me several times a day and they are just not getting through...Im told its the sim or the phone, yet my frie has the same problem with her phone in the same area, but hers isnt a iphoneAnyway, getting sick of people not able to get hold of me, so willing to sacrifice my 18months remaining to go with someone else, and get my iphone unlocked by O2when I bought the phone I was told that I would get full 3g at home and they even sold me a dongle! only found out recently that I dont and this could also lead to my problems.I dont get Orange at all here, so I was looking at virgin as Im already with them and I get a good deal on their contracts.ANyone with experience of iphone and virgin? Bose Earbuds Problem iphone 3g

Hi, I have some of the Bose earbuds with a mic I use with my 3g.Over the course of the past week, when playing music or a radio app I have started having problems. If I am playing a radio app, the app will quit without me doing anything and my ipod music will start up. Once started, my music will play at 2-3 times normal speed, skip a song, go back two songs, stop in the middle, etc.Is anyone else having these problems? Callers cant hear me iphone

So, for about the past week I have had problems with callers not being able to hear me. This doesnt happen all the time but sometimes. Today it happened about 8 times. Two days ago, I went to the support bar at my local apple store. They tried to reproduce the call problem. No luck. They went through a did a restore. I left there, and within an hour it happened again. The guy at the support bar told me he cant swap it because I have had too many swaps. Im sorry that the product fails! ITS UNDER WARRANTY!!!!! Syncing Issues iphone 3g

Ok... so Ive had my iphone for almost a year with no problems. Well, there was a slight issue, but thank God for MobileMe!Anyway... Apple recently replaced my phone as I was having issues with it shutting off on me and/or not displaying the correct battery life. Before this replacement I had noticed that it wasnt syncing properly as well. It will pop up in iTunes & start the process, but after about a minute or so my phone disappears from iTunes as if Ive unplugged it. To make matters worse, the phone still says Sync in Progress but nothing gets synced. Really hard to get all my stuff loaded on the new phone when this prob keeps happening. Ive tried repairing, updating, and uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes. No luck. Ive tried uninstalling/reinstalling the driver. Since its a Plug n Play it should be fine. I keep getting a msg that the driver was installed but with errors. HELP PLEASE?!?!?!?! I would LOVE to have my phone back!!!!! iphone 3g Windows XP

Hi allI have a big problem with my iphone 3g. I have just bought 3 iPhones in Shanghai, China. I know what you already think, but it is not a copyphone. The one of them is working good with no problems. I used the function “delete iphone” on the two others, and now they will not start up again. The both of them were running fine until I deleted them. The screen is just showing the Apple logo on the screen when I turn it on, but nothing else is happening after that. I have tried to connect it to the computer, but that is not working too. And because I have bought the phones in China, there is no support on them in Denmark. so i was having problems with the facebook application and got the advice that if you delete it and restart your phone and download it again it will work. so i deleted it, turned of my phone, tried to restart it and now the apple logo appears for a few seconds like its restarting and then just turns off. ive tried doing this several times and it keeps doing the same thing. i dont know what else i can do other than try to restart it?? iphone 3g

iphone 3g original phone headset stucks my phone

I have almost 2 years old iphone 3g, which has worked just well. Just recently i have faced couple of new problems, which I will explain in detail later in this message. First some background information: I have always updated my iphone using iTunes on iMac, always used the latest version of iphone OS (currently v. 3.1.2) and always used applications only loaded/purchased from Appstore. So no tricks or unsupported operations.After the latest OS update I have experienced couple of new problems. Firstly old existing WiFi-connections are not any more as stable / reachable than before, for some reason. Secondly I have noticed, that when I plug the standard Apple iphone headset (came with iphone) the phone really gets stuck / very very slow, not responding at all or just extremely slowly.This morning I had to reboot the phone few times to get it up and running and now I have problems to open non-iphone-original applications in my phone. When I touch the icon of such an application, the application starts and then the phone closes the application immediately, I can only seen the flash of the applications first screen. All the original iphone applications are working fine, but all of the non-original iphone are acting as described above.Has anyone else had these kind of problems with iphone headset?And how to resolve this non-original iphone applications startup failures?Regards,mackva iphone 3g iphone OS 3.1.2 iMac
