My iphone 4G works perfectly

I just wanted to offset some of the complaints on this board so people who are nervous about the phone will know it is a good buy. I havent had any issues at all with my phone. No yellow screen, no reduced reception (i am using the black bumper) and no problems with the camera shutter or email operations. All my functions work perfectly, speakerphone is loud, headphones are clear, and the battery life is great. I guess my question would be am I the only person who has never had any problems with an iphone? Because this forum makes it seem like they are guaranteed to have issues when they usually dont. iphone 4 freezing when multitasking

Hi,I recently purchased my iphone 4 last weekend, upgrading from my 3GS. I had no problems with the multi-tasking on my 3GS it worked fine but when I am closing down apps on my iphone 4 it is freezing the phone and is sometimes even totally restarting the device. Muffeled audio using Bluetooth headset iphone 4

On my iphone 4 everyone is complaining that they can barely hear me when Im using my Bluetooth headset. I have a few headsets that I have tried, which never had any complaints in the past with my previous iphone, but are all having this problem with the iphone 4. Even using the Apple earphones I get complaints. Anyone else have this problem? No problems with iOS 4 on 3G or 3GS, only iphone 4. iphone 4 iOS 4

FaceTime activation problems in Cyprus iphone 4

I recently purchased two Sim-free iphone 4s from the UK and brought them to Cyprus.i was really eager to try FaceTime so after registering them and everything i tried activating Facetime. One of the phones which is with the carrier CYTA mobile Vodafone works fine and activates FaceTime immediate i had to switch it on and of once. The other phone with MTN wont activate it and i get a video_..... something but stays on waiting for activation. I tried swapping the Sim cards and the CYTA card activates on the other phone as well. Gap between glass and metal band. iphone 4

I have a really thin gaps between the glass and metal band in the upper front and back right corner, and was wondering if anyone else has noticed small gaps between the glass and metal band anywhere on their phone. ive had nothing but crappy customer service at both apple stores near me, but was eventually told by the genius that i could come back with another appointment before the 30 days and swap for a new retail phone in the box. The only thing that worries me is getting a whole new phone with more different problems then the one i have with only the gap issue. iphone 3G no longer recognized by iTunes

I dont know what happened. I havent changed any settings on my pc. I updated my phone software to 4.0.2 last week with no apparent problems. I think Ive charged on my pc since but cant remember for sure. Now when I hook to usb, it goes on and off. Like not the power, but it (the iphone) will connect and show charging and I get the windows message that the apple camera is connected and what do i want to do. then it blinks off, like shows my welcome screen, not charging. then a few seconds later it shows up again and shows to be charging. it goes through this over and over. And iTunes does not recognize the iphone, says an error occurred.Any thoughts or suggestions? Dell XPS 410 Windows XP

Wont SYNC iphone 3G

Im trying to sync my iphone through iTunes but its not working. First it says something about a duplicate file. Then it says an internal device error has occured. It also sometimes says the required file cannot be found (Im trying to sync a new ringtone onto it and I have NOT moved any previously synced files).I have the latest iphone update and the latest version of iTunes. Okay so my iphone is kind of messed up. Low Sounds iphone 3G

For some strange reason, the sound on my iphone 3G has reduced drastically. I am not able to hear either ringtone nor any music. The volume control is at full level. I tried resetting the phone and tried almost everything, but the sound volume can not be increased. All other functions are in perfect condition. The phone has neither fallen or become wet. How I express dissatisfaction over being given refurbished phone iphone 4

Hi,Live in Canada and got my iphone 4 early August (August6 to be exact). My iphone was having such battery problems that I had to get it replaced. Made an appointment to see a Genius, who basically ran a test and said the battery was operating normally but agreed to replace it for me as I was getting a battery drainage of 10% or more per half hour average.Replacement came in a black box, and had a 5k serial number. Ive read that serials with the 5k designation are refurbished phones. I specifically asked him if it was a refurbished phone and he said no. This is quite upsetting, considering the price I paid for the phone. Basically, I was deceived by Apple (I dont blame the Genius as he may or may not have known it was a refurbished phone)How do I contact Apple with my concern re: this issue. Ok i got the iphone4 and sold my ipt and hhone 3g to a friend, his sim card is in he can recieve calls and text but for some reason no ring or text sound and volumn is all the way up and it plays the sound when u choose it but not if recieve call or text, i restored back to factory settings and updated the phone to the newest updates, he can make calls and send texts but for some reason no sound. help would be appreciated. dell Windows 7

Hi allUpdated to 4.0.2 recently, although not sure if this is the problem or just coincidence.On settings, all my sounds are on (i.e. lock sounds, ringtone to loudest, keyboard clicks) and they have been working until today.Now the keyboard clicks dont work, nor do any other sounds other than the iPod. When I go into settings and confirm my ringtone, it does ring, but not when I get a call.This all worked previously but as I say, not sure whether just a conincidence with the update. Are there any other settings that I may have inadvertently changed.All the best

problems syncing iphone 4

Seems simple - to sync your phone, but I have had issues since purchase. After 3 hrs tech time and then time face to face in store, they gave me a new phone. It syncd right away, everything fine. Now having problem with the second phone.I did not sync the phone for a couple weeks, and went to sync it because my apps were not working (push the app on phone and nothing happens). When I tried to sync, I get errors again, some of which include:Internal device errorTiming outUnknown errorI have attempted to restore from back-up, and it errors out and wont let me do this. I have done the complete restore as well. Then when I attempt to sync, the errors are gone, but the sync does not occur. Itunes states it is syncing, and phone shows nothing. It never syncs.Also, anytime I connect the phone to computer itunes pops up with the set up your iphone page, which tells me it is never really recognizing the phone. Also note: I was told to take the time management off the USB hubs, as this might be creating a problem. This has not solved the problem.I am going back to the store today, but figured I would see what advice I could find here. HP dv6t 64 bit

Slowly having change of heart iphone 4

Ok, Ive been an iphone fanatic since the I got my first 3g and never looked back. However now, with all the non-stop issues from apple, Im slowly beginning to feel like I should give android a try just to see if its any better. With every new phone apple releases its great hype about what it can do and blah blah blah, but lately the actual experience is very short of those hypes. 1. Battery life-Apple claims I can surf the web on wifi for up to TEN hours, but in reality, if I take my phone off the charger in the morning at 100%. If I leave wifi ON without doing any browsing whatsoever, Im bound to get a lousy 5 to maybe 6 hours of LIGHT usage. Because my battery just keeps on going down just for having wifi on. 2. HD Video-This is a big one as it was a selling factor to me. However HD videos are only useful if the color is accurate. Im sick and tired of YELLOW tinted videos indoors and over exposed (too much brightness) videos outdoors. Same goes for pictures. In fact for pictures using flash tend to create WASHED out images way more than well lit ones. On top of that, if you are lucky enough to be shooting a video where the color is just right (accurate) if the subject moves about 2 feet from the iphone4, the entire color scheme or shooting theme now changes to blue. The problem with that is it makes people with dark skin look even darker. My old 3GS still takes better pictures and videos than this HD crap. I wont even mention the barrel distortion of the front facing camera that makes me look like a cone head. 3. Proximity-While this has NOT happened much to me, when it does, its ****. Its the most frustrating thing to keep pressing buttons with your cheek, placing people on mute without knowing, and even hanging up on them. 4. Updates_Why should an update comes out and work for some while cause problems for many including me. I no longer appreciate these updates that fix XYZ, and at the same time creates ABC of new problems. After updating to 4.0.2, several times pressing the home button would not wake the phone up, and my battery life seemed like it was on a roller coaster. So I went back to 4.0.1 although I would prefer to go back to 4.0 but apple isnt signing that build any more. At the end, maybe android may have similar issues. Maybe not, I dont know. However considering my happiness level has been slowly decreasing with apple. Only time will tell if I make the switch. Apple should realize that the APP store can only do so much to keep us happy. My hope is 4.1 will fix all of the above, however, Im starting to not even believe apple cares that much any more. cypher red pill

I upgraded to OS 4.0 when it first came out and had nothing but problems with the installation and download and losing everything. I didnt upgrade to OS 4.0.1 and now there is OS 4.0.2. iphone 3G problems

Hi, so i have recently updated the software of my iphone 3G to 4.0.2, i hoped this would help the iphone 3G, but obviously not. The phone is going so slow, i have to wait about 2 minutes for my messages, iPod and other things to load up. It also takes a long time to load anything. And i have been experiencing problems with my music to. When i have the headphones in, it doubles the slowness of my iphone even when the music isnt playing which is really weird. Also, the music has started speeding up for about 90% of the song, so a 3 minute songs finishes in about 15 seconds as it has sped it up for no reason! It does it for every song to. Also, the music will randomly pause even when my phone is on lock and i am not pressing anything. It also does it when its not on lock, and it just goes from the pause sign to the play so i have to press play as it just stops.Does anybody have any fixes for these problems? I have tried to restore my software to 3.0.2 or whatever it was before 4.0.1, but i cant. There isnt a restore date from when i had it. Even a few days after i downloaded 4.0.1 i tried to restore it but it wouldnt let me. I went into the apple store in Newcastle and they told me to restore it but i had and they said there was nothing they could do. Nervous about doing Phone Book Contacts Sync to my iMac. iphone 3G

Hi,I want put all my contacts from my iphone onto my imac when I am doing my synching of applications etc but I am nervous as I have heard you can lose some or all if done in the wrong way. I dont have any problems synching my apps,manually managed music and events, photos etc but Ive always been nervous when doing contacts, I have heard you need to have one exclusive contact on the imac for all the phone contacts to be added, is this the case? Also, if I add a new contact onto my imac at a later date, will it be added to my iphone when I next do my synching?Thanks Adam

iphone 4 Reliability

I have had the iphone 4 since the first day of availability. This phone compared to my old 3GS and the other 3GSs in my household is totally unreliable. I waited to get a bumper thinking that would help. No change. I got a Otterbox which completely isolates the phone. No change. I took the phone to AT&T and they said go to Apple. Apple said my phone was fine but offered to reload all the SW. No change. In my home I have a AT&T Micro Cell. All my 3GS phone work fine. My iphone 4 is full of static and dropped calls. The phone is performing like a cheap knock off. I wrote Apple but no response. Apple needs to figure out what is going on and fix these phones. I am stuck with an expensive AT&T plan and a phone that is so unreliable, I find myself not even using it. When is Apple going to address these problems. This is not an antenna problem that a bumper will fix.If this has had a lot of discussion, I apologize for bring it up again, but I am frustrated. A colleague who has been an Apple advocate just told me he switched from a 3GS to a Droid. He suggested that I go to AT&T and buy a cheap phone that works. That has prompted me to realize that I should not be paying for a phone that just does not work. And when I say it does not work, if I can not count on it reliably, it is useless. iphone 4 and WiFi

I have home network with Airport Extreme. My iphone 4 will freeze data transfer very frequently. It shows connected, but no data transfer. I have to turn WiFi off then turn it back on in order to have it continue data transfer - until the next freeze. I tried a restore on the iphone, but the problem persists. I had my iphone replaced today due to a multitude of problems such as:Proximity sensorAntenna marred by bumperAccelerometer failureAnyway, the phone I have been given appears to be a different build as:Glass on front and back is not as opaquePerformance is fasterThe glass on the back is lighter as the wrap around antenna can be seen quite easily through it as can the proximity sensor on the front so I do think apple are pushing a revised phone into circulation. iphone 4 Bluetooth and Dodge My Gig-cause it to power off

My iphone 4 with OS 4.0.1 was working great - I did the upgrade to 4.0.2 and now whenever Bluetooth is turned on it causes my My GiG car system to power cycle. It will then come on for a couple of minutes and then power off/on again. If I turn off Bluetooth on the iphone - no problems.I have deleted Pairing - tried making a new Bluetooth connection - same thing. Enabling 3G reduces Signal Strenth iphone 3G

Im using iphone 3G with iOS 4.0.2. Since I upgraded to iOS 4 I have been facing problems with signal strengh. And now I realised that if you Enable 3G, signal strength reduces by two bars!! i.e if the signal strength with 3G disabled is 5 bars, it will come down to 3 bars after you enable 3G. downgrade to 3.1.3 horror story iphone 3G

So I was having so many problems with iOS4 that I decided to downgrade to 3.1.3. But after I did this, everything with my phone got wiped out!! Now I cant locate the backup file that was created. Crippling the functionality improved performance back to pre iOS4 levels. Hello all, My family and I recently all purchased iphone 4s and my parents are experiencing problems with their computer. My parents use Windows XP where as I have been using Mac OS X since 10.4. The problem that was experienced is that after my father synced his phone the computer started to run slow. We waited and restarted the computer, because it was impossible to do anything, before syncing my mothers phone. After starting to sync my mothers phone, the computer froze and was non responsive from all forms of input. Once it managed to restart it would freeze in the boot sequence. Without my knowledge, my father decided to try and fix the problem himself and now the only thing the computer will do is display a black screen with the message DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. After inserting the disk, it will go to the Windows XP Professional Setup page and try to guide us through the setup or repair of the OS. My father named the drive h: instead of c: so it will not respond to any of the commands that I know how to use to try and recover the OS and now the system states that the there are unknown disk <there is no disk in this drive>. With the background being out of the way; what needs to be done to recover their previous install of Windows XP? If I go through and install, will it erase all of their data? Please help! I will also try to find another appropriate section to post this under, but this was the first I could think of seeing as how the problem started when we synced their iphone 4sThanks for any answers! So I have an iphone 4G. Just yesterday I started having problems with my Phone app & my Contacts app & my Calendar app. When I tap on any of them I just get a white screen for about 10 seconds then it kicks me back to the home screen.I tried rebooting. I will make this short and simple as I too have been experiencing battery problems with my iphone4 since I upgraded to 4.0.1Now here is what I THINK is going on, I believe there is a BUG in the wifi software in IOS that tends to drain the battery at a rate of 5% every 10 to 15 minutes or so if you are using the phone for surfing. And if you are not doing any internet surfing at all, it still drops the battery at a similar rate. Sadly what I have found out is that this doesnt stop even when the phone is on standby. Two hours of my phone just sitting there, I lose about 5% plus. So if I leave wifi on and go to bed, my phone will lose close to 25% of battery over night. However once wifi is OFF, the phone will only lose about 2 to 3% over night. Ill say thats a HUGE difference. What I also have noticed is that it doesnt matter if I have notifications & push ON or OFF, the battery still gets drained at the same rate as long as wifi is ON. Once I have realized the culprit, I went from getting a mere 4 to 5 hours of usage to 8 to 9 hours. So, I suggest that you all only turn wifi on when you NEED it. Once you no longer need it, just shut it off. This is what we have to do until apple fix this problem because it seems like having wifi ON is constantly working the wifi antenna even when the user is not using the wifi connection at all. Apple claims a whopping up to 10 hours of internet surfing over wifi. How can that be when my phone will lose over 30% of battery in 10 hours just on standby with wifi ON? Ok, I have spent time searching the forums, and web for any answers. I have a few problems with my iphone, and most of you will probably hate me for what I am going to say.First issue: My iphone is ungodly slow. I mean it takes about 3-4 minutes for the app store to load sometimes, when loading an app, constantly loads while in the app, causing the app to freeze. Sometimes when I go into an app, after about 15-30 seconds it kicks me out of the app.Second issue: Sound is super low. When I go to make a call on my iphone, I am either forced to use a Bluetooth Headset or Speaker to place the call. The normal speaker works but is really really low. And yes, I do have the volume all the way turned up. When receiving a call, I can barely hear the ringtone sometimes, it is super low.Third issue: My iphone constantly says No Simcard Installed I know part of it is probably because the sim does not fit snug inside the phone anymore, but It also does it randomly at times. I was wondering if it could be a software issue, and not the actual sim card. Last issue (For Now): Replacing the back case. I am wondering if I should replace the back case for my phone, or just finally upgrade to another iphone. My back case has about 5 cracks on it, its loose, and my lock/power button does not work, the vibrator switch does not work, vibrate does not work, and I am missing a piece of the case that goes on the top of the phone.So should I just spare myself headache, and financial hit, and just go purchase another iphone 3G or 3GS, I do not plan on getting the iphone 4 as of yet, but do you think it is time for a full upgrade, or just fix the issues I am currently having. 15" Macbook Pro (2010) iphone 3G 8G Mac OS X (10.6.4) 2.66 GHZ Core i7 500GB HD, 4GB RAM

After being a happy Apple consumer for several years, Ive been hit hard in the last 3 months with very disappointing problems. 1) A hard drive death left me with a very very painful, 12 hour restore process using Time machine, so for me, Time Machine is dead, Its CCC all the way from now on. (full disk restore in 2hrs using CCC)2) After the horrible slowness with iphone 3G iOS4 and no (supported) way to revert back, I consider my iphone nearly useless. Id be more the happy to buy an iphone 4 except that:3) Issues with AT&T leave me wanting to not give them a single more $ then I absolutely have to. Granted this is not an Apple issue, except for Appless inability or unwillingness to support a different carrier.Consequently, my next phone and possibly my next computer will not be an Apple. In general, in the past, theyve always done better at these sorts of things than the competition, but apparently not any more...Bye bye... 3G iOS 4

ok so i just bought my iphone4 about 4 days ago and it works like a charm. until i noticed that whenever i get a message even when its on the lock screen, the screen doesnt turn off until i unlock the phone. i figured that this is a problem since sometimes i leave my phone for a long time then when i come back to it, the screen is on and 30% of my battery is drained. the screen does dim and does auto lock from the springboard so thats not a problem. any suggestions? iphone4 Windows 7
