screen blacked out iPhone 5

So i was playing with my phone, put it down for a second and when i came back to it the screen was covered with black and white lines.. Ive tried to restart the phone, reset it and all but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have advice? I am overseas so going into an apple store isnt an option.

iphone 4S restore error codes 2006 and 2001. what these actually mean

My son's phone suddenly stopped working. We connected it to the Imac using the USB cable and it came up with a restore procedure suggestion to resolved the issue. We downloaded the latest version of ITunes and then we followed the restore process. I then see a pop up error message: The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2001).  So I disconnected from the IMac reconnected and re-ran the restore procedure. This time we got the same message but with a 2006 error code.  The phone is less than a year old (bought for Christmas). It has been taken care of with no scratches, bangs or drops. What is happening and what do I need to resolve? Is it something that can be fixed?should it cost me (is this under warranty) to resolve / repair? Hopefully someone can help. Thanks Paul

My iphone was fine up until a few hours ago. Now the sound has stopped completely. It does not ring, alert me for texts, play music, or anything. I made sure that my phone is not on silent or vibrate, have restarted my phone several times, and have even reset the settings on my phone. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

I have tried all the 'simple' fixes the internet has to offer: -restarting, -completely powering off and 0removing the battery, -different USB port, - troubleshooting and auto repairing the drivers, -checking my firewall and possible relaxing it (although odd, it was actually suggested to me). Ok so my friend got ahold of my iphone and downloaded the software from ios 7 onto it. When I went to take it off I just erased and reset the phone. While doing that it has now completely locked me out of my phone because the software she downloaded wasn't paid for. The screen is now telling me "the device is not registered as part of the iphone developer program." Does anyone have any suggestions? Turning the phone on or off, starting over as an option is not working. I'm not sure what else to do and I'm starting to freak out a little bit.

i just factory unlocked the iphone 4 with my provider. i did a full factory reset and set up as a new device. currently it displayed 439 MB "Other" and 13.27 GB Free. i understand that a part of the 16gb is used for the ios operations. so that i should have somewhere between 13.6 - 13.8 GB of actual free space. i am wondering what the 439mb of "Other" is and if its something i can ger rid of.

My iphone 5 has continually been "searching" for two days.  I had the sim card swapped twice yesterday and nothing has changed. What could be wrong and what is my next step? More info: I have reset network setting, reset my entire phone as well. It will not allow me to even go through the process of setting up the phone so I'm stuck at the beginning screen. I've tried to set it up through wifi and through itunes with no luck. Before I reset it, it wouldn't allow me to update once the searching problem began.

Hi, I held down the off and home button on my iPhone 4S 64GB and i thought it just turned off but it reset the apps and i still have photos and apps and everything but when i open any social aps it comes up with "connect to iTunes to use push notifications" and also before this event i was using iMessage all the time aswell as texting and now when i use iMessage it doesnt let me send or recieve messages anymore on my iPhone but it does on my iPad and it lets me recieve Texts. I reset my iphone on reset all settings and media and it just goes to the apple logo and then the buffering circle. Is there any other way than holding the home button and power button since my power buttons broken? Please and thanks.

Whenever I try to sync my iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.3, to my new Asus computer with Windows 8, I get a message saying "iTunes cannot read the contents of this iPhone. Go to the Summary tab and restore." So I go to Summary and hit restore, and it doesn't seem do anything, other than want to download new iPhone software, which always takes about 4 hours, and I inevitably end up with some sort of error that prevents it from loading.  I've removed and reinstalled iTunes, and restarted my phone, but it doesn't seem to work.  I would like to be able to sync to my computer, but it doesn't seem to work.  Before I was on an Asus computer with Windows 7 and it worked fine, and now I can't get it to work at all.  I have the same Internet security provider as before, so I don't think that's it.   Can anyone figure out what I should do? iPhone 5 require factory reset to switch from GSM to CDMA

Before I ordered my iPhone 5 from StraightTalk I explained that I wanted to use it as a CDMA (Verizon) in the US and as a GSM (Vodafone) in Europe.I specifically asked if the phone would become a CDMA phone again when I removed the Vodafone GSM Sim after returning to the US. The answer was Yes. The CDMA function worked well in the US and the GSM function worked equally well in Europe.However, when I did remove the GSM card, the iPhone 5 stopped working. According to StraightTalk, the only way to return to the CDMA function is to have them do a factory reset, which means loosing all data and downloaded apps.Of course, nobody told me that when I asked the question.Does anybody know if this is a requirement for every iPhone 5 or just for StraightTalk phones?

4s being slow and lagging iPhone

I have noticed that my phone has started to become slow and lagging. I make sure i kill all apps that are running when i am not using them. Connected to Wifi when i can and everything else that i can tell is normal. Just need more advice on what to do. I do not want to hard reset the phone. Already had problems with Itunes before and don't want to try to figure everything out again. Thanks

title says it all, I can't get to a phone call as I've had my icloud hijacked.  But the screen REQUIRES a serial number to continue.  REALLY???  Apple drives me crazier every year.

Iphone 4S Wifi slider not working

Hello everyone, I've recently got my WIFI slider greyed out. I was on a lower version than 6.1.3 before I got this issue, now after trying several resets and network resets and other stuff such as using the hair-dryer trick and freezer trick it didn't work. Now as I've seen in a tutorial on Apple it says you must go to Settings --> About --> Resets and then reset the network settings, but after doing that my Wifi-Adress stays with some numbers instead of N/A which other people gets, I still have a WIFI-Adress in it no matter if I reset my whole Iphone or not. Airpot has always been off, when I'm in the menu of setting Iphone up, it most likely skips the Find wifi part where you connects to your WIFI. The Iphone it self has not even a scratch, I've not really dropped it before or anything, I've had it for some time now but not really got it damaged. So people, any ideas? It's running on IOS 6 6.1.3 now.

iPhone Autoplay doesn t start automatically

When I plug my iPhone 4s up to my Windows 7 64bit PC It is detected by the PC and iTunes, but it does not start AutoPlay. I have checked all the basics, making sure autoplay is set to "ask me everytime" the device is plugged up. yet it does not do this. I have reset to defaults on the phone as well as on my PC. AutoPlay still does not come up. This is mainlty an inconvience but still, it SHOULD just work and it doesnt. So any suggestions besides what I've already tried would be awesome. I tried to update my iPhones IOS and when I did, it said that I needed to restore my iPhone, so I did, or I tried. When I went to restore it, it worked for a little while, then stopped and pulled up a error that says "there was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone, " iPhone " . An unknown network error occurred (9006). I have searched everywhere for a solution to my problem, to find no solution. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, turning in off firewalls, virus protectors, etc. I am very desperate to fix this problem because my iphone is a paperweight until this problem is resolved, please help me!  

vodafone issues iPhone 4S

Hi all,  i will list my problems and see what you all think,,,,, i have a iphone 4s on vodafone running 6.1.3 firmware, for the first 11/12mths i would say this phone was faultless ( taking around 200 calls a day), recently the phone refuses to make calls and send txt messages, it wont even connect to the internet using 3g, it has to have wirelesss connectivity for the browsers to work. i took it to the local vodafone shop and they insisted it was the sim card at fault, even though i did try it in my other phone (nokia E50-2), so i took the replacement sim anyway. checks already done:- i have taken my vodafone contract sim from the iphone and placed it in the nokia, it works fine sending and recieving both calls and txti have taken my vodafone PAYG sim out of the nokia and placed it in the iphone, it refused to work but worked fine in the nokiai have reset the network settings, i have deleted all apps from the iphone and done a full restore, but it still refuses to workit shows full signal strength all the time where i live, as does the nokia, if i try to call it from the nokia it tells me the phone is not available even though they are sat side by side with full signal, if i try to call the nokia it comes back called failed.i have tried to send a txt message to my own phone number only for it to come back failed, yet in the nokia it sends no problem.vodafone refuse to admit it is a problem with there network and it is an iphone issue, the phone is now 13mths old and out of warranty (typical), i requested the iphone be unlocked from vodafone to check other networks, this has now been done so i put a spare O2 sim in the iphone and it sends and recieves both calls and text with no issues, yet vodafone still say it is not a network problem!!!!!!! is anyone else having similar problems to mine??? or is it something wrong with the phone???? i personnaly think when the phone was updated to the 6.1.3 firmware it has a problem with vodafone, plese tell me what you think, i am going crazy with this phone, cant believe its not kissed the wall or other hard surface yet.

Help with my iPhone 5.

So today I want to restore my iPhone 5 to 6.0. I have tried to do so by getting the firmware of the correct form, (my make of my phone, model number, etc) and for some reason it won't restore. I've tried 2 different ones, 6.0 and 6.1 and to no avail. On iTunes it keeps coming up with 'Error 3194' I have researched into this and I have done as instructed on the official Apple error code help page, but still, it doesn't work, can anyone help? Hi, I have an iPhone 5 that's about 5 months old now.I bought in India.My phone died last night coz the battery finished..and i have been trying to charge it ever since and it isn't working..I did everything possible(like a hard reset : Holding the home and power buttons down with various time combinations) and nothing worked, it isnt even turning on(Not even the Apple Logo is being displayed).There has been no external damage to the phone in any aspect.I tried charging it using my computer, a wall adapter and a power bank and NOTHING SEEMS TO WORKSomeone Please HELP!

I have been having trouble with my iPhone - sudden decrease in battery life, apps not working, Wifi not working, iCloud not working (don't ask me why, but when I go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and back up, the toggle is off and greyed out, giving me no option to turn it on). I was advised to back the iPhone up on my mac, reset the iPhone to factory settings and then restore it from the Mac.  So, all my apps have come over, but none of my contacts, SMS's, nothing. I can probably live without the SMS's but it will take me a long time to re-enter all my contacts.  However, they are all still in the Mac.  But I can't work out how to get the Mac to send the addresses back to the iPhone.   As previously stated, the iCloud doesn't work, so I can't use that.  I looked through previous entries and the advice was: Open iTunes. Connect the iPhone. Select it under the Devices heading in the iTunes sidebar. Click on the Info tab in the main window. Check the Contacts box then sync. However, when I do this it say in contacts "your contacts are being synched with your iPhone over the air, over-the-air sync settings can be changed on the iPhone" But I don't want them synched over the air, because over the air (I assume this is iCloud) isn't working.  How do I set it (either iTunes or the iPhone) so that it synches, via USB cable, with the contacts on my Mac? I am totally, utterly confused and a bit cross as I am now worse off then before I reset the phone and was told that it would just back up from the computer.  And even more annoyed when I know the data I want is all still there (on the Mac in address book), I just can't drag it across.

iphone 5 doesnt accept ID password facetime and imessage not working

Im not sure if its to do with the new update 6.1.4 but my imessage suddenly stopped working. I checked my settings and saw that my email addresses associated with it were deleted. I would do hard resets but it wouldnt solve the problem. Then imessage was only partially working, sending imessages to certain individuals and text messages to the others. When i would try to add my email it would say that my password or ID is incorrect. I was thinking, no this could not be. I signed in and out of Itunes with no problem. I even signed on appleid.com and it worked. I tried it on my ipad which worked. I was scratching my brains. so I had an idea, I proceeded to reset network settings......BIG MISTAKE!!! Now, along with my imessage and facetime problems, I cannot connect to my wifi at home. when I enter the password it says it is incorrect. I have also tried entering the wifi manually but to no avail. I connected my iphone to itunes but it wont back up my data saying an error occured but it doesnt specify the error. Iv also noticed that if i press and hold an app, and it starts shaking, the crosses next to the apps that I hav purchased whether it is free or not does not show the 'x' next to them so I cant manually delete an app. What is going on? Is so frustrating because now I have to rely on my data and its depleting fast. Iv booked an appointment with the Genius bar for next week but I am hoping I can sort this out before hand. My first iphone and I was enjoying it up to now, not happy at all!

Home button lagging up to hours iPhone 5

Last night my Home button just stopped working. So i started using the AssistiveTouch, then when i was sending a text, then my phone started to use the home button by itself. Like all my clicks had been queued up. I'm talking hours afterwards. Then for a bit, the button worked like it should. But after i put it to sleepmode, the same thing happened.And just now, i playing Candy crush(lol!) it just started again. I couldn't play because it kept going using the home button by itself. Starting voice control etc etc.. I have tried resetting rebooting the phone, I have tried to reset the phone and I have tried to recalibrate the home button. I mean, I could live with a  few seconds delays, but 10 hours? Nope  Any advice is appreciated, otherwise i'll guess I have to go to the closest store.

Wifi Greyed on 4S no Panorama option on camera

I purchased a 4s for the Mrs in February 13 and ever since she has had it the wifi option is greyed and no option of the Panorama in camera options although the 'grid' and 'hdr' options are there. I have restored the phone from new, reset all settings, hard reset etc but nothing helps.  Does anyone have a definitive resolution to this frustrating problem or is it a matter for Apple to replace the handset? On 6.1.3 at the moment

My phone will not connect to itunes long enough to get it to reset.  Is there any special key combination that I can use to brick the phone so that I can start from scratch, but without connecting to itunes?   The phone will not restart and stay on.  It just continues to go on and off on and off.  I get the apple logo, then to the home screen, but the slide to open bar does not glow, and then it just shuts off and starts over.  It never is on long enough to register with the computer.   I have tried both reset techniques.  neither works.  (holding down home key and on/off key until i see the apple logo, or holding down just the on/off key(never see the power bar).   I have an appointment, but would rather not go into the store.  If there is another way to brick the phone, I could then restore from backup.   Thanks!

Erasing data from iphone 4 and installing new data from iphone 3gs

A friend has given me her iphone 4.  It still has all her data on it.  I want to install my data and erase hers.  How can I do this and make sure my data is safe.  I connected her phone to my computer thinking that I could reset it back to factory settings but it seemed that my computer wanted to save the data off the phone first.  I don't want to do this.  What's the easiest way of wiping her phone clean and then installing the data from mine? There are a couple of game apps on her computer that I'm happy to keep.  Is it easy to save these?  I'm prepared to erase them with the rest of the data from her phone if it's a problem.

Apple ID problem iPhone 3G

When setting up my apple ID i put in the wrong email address initially, I typed it wrong. I resolved this by correcting it with the right email address then popping in the correct password. Everything seemed fine initially. But now I keep getting Apple ID popping up with the wrong email address asking for the password (which doesnt exsist). It doesn't affect anything as when it matters, eg app store iCloud etc, it always asks for the password for the correct email address. But this window will pop up constantly, whether I'm in settings, App Store, iMessage.  I've tried looking for a way to stop it from popping up but can't seem to see anything. I really don't want to have to reset my phone so hoping someone out there has some useful advice for me...
