Now i switched to postpaid connection but now 3G internet is not working even it has been activated from the provider. way of sharing my Macbook Pro's Wifi connection to iPhone 4 Not Using iPhone as hotspot for laptop other way around

So a nasty smash destroyed both Front & Back of my iPhone 4, and since having them replaced the Wifi signal has been really weak. I have seen other posts about screen replacement having to be done by going through the antenna, so something could be missing, or done incorrectly during the screen repair. Will definately be taking it back to the shop and finding out if It was put back together properly.  In the meantime I was wondering if it is possible to share my Macbook Pro's Wifi (always full signal in my house) directly to my iPhone either using USB cable or through bluetooth. It's not been too much of a problem but it would be nice to use my iPhone in bedroom using the Macbooks good signal.  Note: The replacement front screen on iPhone has a small gap >1mm between the screen and centre metal casing on the left side just above the Silent/Loud Switch, which can be noticed by light leaking through the gap. The metal casing also still has a small dent between the volume down buttons and silent/loud switch, again nothing drastic 1mm maximum

Iphone 5 bluetooth issue

I recently upgraded from 4s to 5. I'm experiencing issues with the bluetooth transmission/receive range. When I'm running with the iphone on my arm my wireless headset quite often drops the connection. Same problem when I'm using bluetooth with My car. I can't have the phone in My pocket while driving, I must put it between My seats, otherwhise the connection drops.  Had no problem like this with My 4 or 4s, so I convinced it's something with iPhone 5. Anyone else? Is it a hardware or software issue?

Internet connectivity issues iPhone 5

I'm having an issue with my wifi/network internet connection. Wifi will work fine sometimes but then wont work unless I turn wifi off/on again. Also when leaving my home my phone wont switch over to my network internet unless I turn my phone on and off.

Iphone 5 trouble with charging please help

     Haven't had my iPhone for long (around November for my birthday) and for about the last couple of weeks recently I have had major trouble with the battery charge.      At first I thought it was the cables, so I got new one after new one and they'd work but then stop working. Until the last one I just purchased, it pretty much stopped charging the phone straight away. No lightening or sound response, no connection via computer etc. So, when my charge ran out I still had it plugged into my computer and now my phone only chargers when it's off when it's plugged into a USB port (bear in mind, it doesn't connect to iTunes-it says USB is unrecognized although it still chargers the phone when off). However, it charges fairly quickly when off but when in use the charge diminishes just as quick as it takes to charge. Not only that but now whenever I wish to turn my iPhone off, it turns itself back on.      I have recently sent off my phone to the Apple store to have it checked over and it came back to me saying they couldn't reproduce the symptons I had mentioned so there was me thinking everything was fine but nope, still faulty. So a bit disappointed with paying £7.00 for delivery to have nothing been done about it (not only that, but the phone as also out of charge when returned so it just seemed like my phone wasn't looked over one bit). Also a bit disappointed and annoyed at the fact I'm still paying for my monthly contract for the phone when I am unable to use it!!!     I haven't damaged the phone (it basically looks brand new) and haven't exposed it to any liquids. The USB port on my phone where I charge it seems clear too.      The annoyance of having to send it back to Apple costing me more money is offputting so does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm going to my local 3 store to see if they can help me out but I'm just a bit fed up now. Can see this is a popular problem amongst other iPhone users too. Many thanks! (Oh and need to add I HAVE updated everything on my phone, restored everything, restarted etc.)

iPhone 4s 6.1.3 problems with 3g In and Outgoing Calls

Hi Everybody!I got a factory unlocked (originally was Vodafon locked) iPhone 4s with firmware 6.1.3.When I insert my sim (Hungarian Telenor) when only EDGE is on it founds the signal and seems like everything is working.After a few hours or sometimes even a day passes by a phone stays on full signal with Carrier logo and Edge on, but my friends reporting that they cant call me(like im offline) and i cant make calls either.The interresting stuff is that the Edge connection is fully working during that im offline for my friends via Calls and i can send and recieve imessages and viber messages.When i switch 3g on it disconnects from service drops the EDGE and never finds the way back and stays 'searching' or 'no service' at all.. I thought that its my Carrier's fault so i went to spoke with them and tried 5different micro Sims( cause i wrote that 4s-s are sensitive to SIM card types).. this thing not worked either, Then i tried the phone with a T-mobile SIM card.. it does the same..connects to the services,but with 3g switched on not finding service..so totally like with my sim. Here Comes the bumm... i Tried the phone with vodafone sim and everything works.. simple connectivity to 3g with full internet usage,can make and recieve calls...I spoked with all of the Carriers and also Apple and no body can give me nothing..the phone is off varranty so changed to a new one isnt an option..Anybody? Something? im beginning to give up .. please help if you can..Thanks!!   ps.:i restored over 20times,reset network settings,switch off and on automatic setting time.. every little possible things that people wrote on forums before..

Hi! My wifi connection was perfect until today. Yesterday I was able to connect and find wi-fi connections, today my wi-fi settings connection toggle it's grayed out.I've rebooted the phone some times and the wi-fi settings were normal, not gray an unselectable but still I couldn't find wi-fi networks.I've tried a hard reset (Home+On/Off) and now the settings are completly gray. Hardware problem?iPhone 4s 6.1.3 Thanks for you time.

iPhone 5 won't charge correctly. Only charges when I put pressure to one side on the connector. I know you're thinking "It's the cable or the wall adapter. It's not. I have 5 genuine apple lightning cables, happens with all of them whether plugged in to an ac outlet, USB on a pc, or in my car. This is my 3rd iPhone 5 since my original purchase in October.  The other 2 phones failed with this exact problem. The last time, I took the non charging phone in to a Verizon store (no apple stores near me) and asked them if they had seen it before, they told me that my phone was the only one they ever seen with that issue. So they offered to call apple and ask if this is a known issue with iPhone 5's, they also responded that they haven't seen this issue. Is this true? Am I the only one with this issue, for 3 phones in a row?? Seems unlikely. Anyway, I ask if anyone else has had this happen because if this is in fact something that happens often, I'm going to get a different phone. I love my iPhone 5, but not enough to go through this every month or two.

My iPhone 4S will not connect to wifi when I have to enter a password (yes, the password is correct).  It will connect to free wifi.  Any ideas?  I've tried resetting network settings, forget this network, rebooting and renew lease.

iPhone 5 won't hold connection to my wifi

I recently bought an apple iPhone 5 from the carphone warehouse on contract and I noticed that whilst it connects to my wifi with no problem, it repeatedly disconnects and needs to be manually reconnected to the wifi again, is there anyway to fix this?

I bought a full price Unlocked iPhone 5 from Apple back in January to use on Straight Talk. I had some issues with data on Straight Talk not being reliable and I had to keep turning data off and on again to get a connection. Now that TMobile is supporting the iPhone at the same price as Straight Talk I figured i'd give them a try - after all that's what having an unlocked phone with no contrat is all about right? I'm a free agent. So i signed up however i don't get 3G anyhere, and my 4G coverage is spotty (talking HSPA+ 4G not LTE). This is because my $599 unlocked phone doesn't have AWS support.  My question is why won't Apple release an update that will allow my identical hardware to work the way the one would if i bought it from TMobile? It's the same A1428 Model, the ony difference is the software.  I really don't have to have to sell my older A1428 to buy a new A1428 from TMobile just to get it to work when it should have anyway.  Can someone respond as to what Apple plans to do about this? Thanks,Andrew

Dying iPhone 5

I have been having multiple problems with my iphone 5 and ive only had it for 6 months. I have been restoring it to factory settings on a regular basis however it still has been having problems (more and more frequent.      #1 Teathering. I have been having trouble teathering off of my phone. (i tried several devices to rule my macbook out of the troubleshooting, nothing works) No device picks up my wifi or bluetooth personal hotspot. My macbook does not even recognize my USB connection in network settings.      #2 My wifi on the phone is also a hassle. It has been becoming more and more intermittant, but rarely works. I have tried multiple networks with the same result.      #3 My phone has become generally slow especially for safari and mail. On wifi, they dont work at all. on 3G, and LTE, the phone has also become very slow and often won't load at all. As stated above, restoring used do fix everything but that fix has become very short term, and often hasn't been working at all. Can someone help me?

aux connection to car no longer working wiPhone

I've been using my iPhone 4 connected to my 2010 Honda CRV via aux cable for a full year no pbs.  Yesterday, in the middle of a song, it just suddenly stopped.  The on/off click comes through, but no other audio (no iTunes, audio books, etc).  I thought it might have just been a bum cable, so I tried a new cable.  Nope.  So then thought it was my phone - but audio works fine w/headphones (and its own speakers).  Then I tried connecting the phone to my husband's 1997 Toyota FJ - and had the exact same problem.  So - two different cars (on which the aux connection has always worked with my iPhone 4), three different aux cables.  The weird thing is that the on/off click comes through on both car speakers when it's connected, just no other audio.  Oh, and I connected the phone to my CRV USB (which for some reason I'd never done before...) and it works just fine.  Even better sound quality than before.  But since my Husband and I often switch cars, and his doesn't have a USB port...would love to figure out what's going on so I can listen to my iPhone in his car.  Any suggestions on trouble shooting?

Out of nowhere the WIFI on my Iphone 4s stopped working.  I can no longer download unless I have a cell phone connection or wired in.  Will restoring a back up fix this?

hi guys... i have an iphone 4 running ios 5.01 i believe..  about 3 weeks ago, suddenly it just died for no reason. i didn't drop it or anything.. i pressed and hold the home and spring board buttons, but nothing happened.  the phone would only turn on if it is being charged. even then, it is not functioning at all.. it says no service on the top left, the wifi is greyed out..  most of the apps wont work. when i selected any of the apps, they flashed briefly then go back to main menu.  and the phone dies again as soon as i unplugged the it from the charger. the battery says a 100% while being plugged.  there is an alarm icon on top of the main menu..  last night, all of a sudden, the phone just started to function again while being docked to the charger... after being unplugged for about a week or so.  and everything just works... but this morning after i have been using it for a few hours since last night, it died again...  so it looks like there is a loose connection inside the phone or there is a chipset or something thats beginning to fail inside phone..  just wondering if anyone has experience this kind of issue with their iphone 4..  its very irritating.. i never drop the phone, never got in the water.

iPhone 4s stuck in recovery mode

My iphone 4s has been stuck in recovery mode since saturday. Everytime I try to restore on my itunes i ger error 9. I've tried different usb cables, different usb port, different lap top, different internet connection. It doesn't seem to want to go into DFU mode when I try.

I just purchased the iPhone 5 coming from a Samsung Galaxy S3. Where I work, I do not receive cell phone service so I rely heavily on the WiFi to receive emails and iMessages.  I've noticed that if the phone sits for a few minutes, the wireless will shut itself off and as soon as I press the home or power button, the wireless kicks in and I get a flood of iMessages and an e-mail chime.  On the Samsung, there was an option to keep the wireless on all the time and my question is: Is there a way to keep the phone connected to a WiFi connection all the time so I don't get a delay in messages and emails? I know battery life will suffer and that isn't an issue to me. I just need it to stay connected so I'm not replying to messages 2 hours later when I pick up the phone.  Thanks,

Since Friday, some internet dependent apps will act as if I have no data connection.  Also, I can't visit some websites because of a connection issue, although I can visit other websites.  I never had a problem with apps or websites not working until Friday.  Everything works fine over wifi.  I have tried resetting the phone, resetting network settings.  I have an iPhone 5 on AT&T.

Bluetooth connection causing iPhone not to sound ring iPhone 4S

Suddenly it's gotten so that my iPhone4S (on Verizon) isn't ringing when Bluetooth is on.  It does get calls on the screen and it does make sound otherwise.  I turn Bluetooth off, and it always rings now.I suspect this may be particular with the Pansonic land-line headset/bluetooth connection I use.  It was great when working in that my land lines would ring (with the sound of my cell ringtone no less) and I could get cell calls on any headset in the house.  It used to work all the time (For several months at least and perhaps my bluetooth on this phone isn't as strong as the old 3GS?)Something to look out for if your phone stops ringing and can't otherwise be explained or fixed by resets etc. 

iPhone 4 people can't hear me.

Hi I think I may have found a reason why the iPhone 4 will cut out during calls and people can not hear you.  I believe it is software related because when I iPhone is reformatted the calls work fine.  If you turn off 3G, there must be a 3G connection for this to work, then calls will start to cut out again.  Even if you turn 3G back on the calls will cut out.  This will happen until I iPhone is reformatted again.  Could this be a software problem or a 3G antenna problem.

i can't activate my iphone 4 after restoring it

i bought my ipone 4 about a month ago it was working fine then my network connection started to pay up so i reset my network settings after resetting like it does it went into recovery mode i managed to get it out of recovery mode i turned the phone off after cause it wasn't finding my service provider after turning it back on it went into recovery mode once again this time i wasn't able to get it out so i connected it to itunes done a full restore back to factory and now it won't activate ive tryed everything and it still wont work and no before anyone askes it hasn't been jail broken i have restored it a few time before cause i updated it the ios 6 then it wouldn't let me get it out and since the ios 6 update it has been in recovery mode twice and now it wont regiser even tho i have before any help would be great thanks

I can t connect to my wifi iPhone 3G

I'm on my iPhone 4S and I can't connect to ANY app that uses wifi, including the iTunes store. I keep getting notifications that I need to check my Internet connection (I have it on my phone) and that my phone wasn't sure if itunes.apple.com was really iTunes' web address (oh come on!) It's storming here where I am in Tennessee now, and I figured that might be part of the problem. But is it?  I've reset the network settings, and it still says it. What could the problem be? I've even tried turning off the wifi and using 4G and nothing happened.

Iphone 4s excessive data usage

I turned on my phone this morning and had zero internet connection. O2 Guru told me I'd used up all 1GB data. Recently I received a warning text saying I was almost at the end of my allowance so I started monitoring it throughout the day and it was being eaten up. I have had the phone over a year and it's only now that my data is disappearing. I wonder if it's anything to do with the latest iOs 6.1.3?  I have had recurrent signal issues for a while too.  Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks P.S I recently added the Candy Crush app, is that known to be buggy? It's the only app I have added to the phone in months.

What s wrong with my iphone

Ok so, since yesterday afternoon, while i was on my facebook, it suddenly popped out that there's a problem with the connection blah blah blah, but it was still connected to the wifi, so I just ignored it for a while, until i want to use it but i can't, coz every app that needs wifi was just loading & loading and it took forever but i wasn't updating to the latest post like that.. I opened my tumblr, twitter, instagram, imessage and facebook, but it's stuck on the same last post from yesterday. It really bothers me, I reset the network setting for a couple of times, and nothing happens.  If you're gonna ask what carrier i have, It's MTS but i don't have a sim. Yet i can still use it like an ipod.  the push notfication shows on my iphone, like when it's locked and someone message me on fb or retweet something on twitter. Then when i do open that notification, and the app will load then it'll stop.  I also updated it to the latest iOS (6.1.3) a month ago.  What do i need to do??? Need Help. 

iMessage down iPhone 4

As of this morning, I have been unable to send iMessages. My phone also randomly deletes all my previous messages and they reappear later. When I open messages, all the messages are jumbled, overlapping one another or they have a huge blank gap. I have iMessage turned on and it says that it's activated. I have full service and internet connection. I have toggled the iMessage between on and off, restarted my iPhone, restored and then backed it up and nothing seems to work. Any tips?

Why wi-fi doesn't work with my iPhone 4s

Hello,A few weeks ago the wifi stopped working on my iPhone 4s… it couldn’t find a wifi network and the times it could, it only worked for a few minutes. This problem occurred a few days after uploading iOs 6.1.2.So I went to the Apple store two weeks ago and they gave me a new cellphone for free (still was on warranty, otherwise it is $199 to replace an old device), because they thought the problem was my phone itself. At home, I was so happy to have a new phone and the wifi was working again without problems! I put my back-up on and started using it.Sunday, I uploaded iOs 6.1.3.Monday (one week after having my new iPhone) I lost my wifi connection again.On Wednesday, tired to have wifi connectivity issues, I reseted the network settings. When my phone turned on, the wifi option was grayed out and had been since then.Friday (today), I erased all content and settings. When my phone turned on, the first thing I did was to check at the wifi option: it still was grayed out (even if my phone was empty at a ‘factory reset’).I will have to go to the Apple store once again.I will lose money and time again (because going to the Apple store means an 2h45 bus ride to go/come back and yes, it is expensive).I hope the problem will be fixed this time, but I really don’t think so because the problem seems to be from iOs 6 (and its updates).Apple, I searched the web and found that I’m FAR from being the only customer with this connectivity problem. No news from you. No update. No nothing.I will NEVER buy from Apple again. I don’t trust your products anymore. Next time I will buy from my old cellphone brand, never had a problem with them.I am a VERY disappointed customer.

Replacement phone can't keep connection iPhone 5

I had to get a replacement phone as my lock button stopped working. Now this refurb one won't keep a connection to my provider (Telstra). It will be ok then just drop out and cycle through searching, no service, SOS only and back to normal.  It will do this over and over and then be fine for hours, then start doing it again.  Has anyone else encountered this? Im assuming it must be a problem with the refurb handset as my old phone didn't do it and no one else I know on Telstra with an iPhone is having any problems.  Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Cheers.

Having troubles with the iPhone 4 and (re)pairing a Motorola H3 bluetooth headset. These two worked beautifully just last week in 2010.Bluetooth on phone working fine with another headset, so next step:1. Select Motorola H3 in Bluetooth menu2. Forget this DeviceThen, power-down the Motorola H3, and turn on while holding the phone button down until the led is continuously lit (pairing mode)The Motorola H3 appears in the Bluetooth Devices list with the status "Not Paired" and when selecting - produces the error:connection UnsuccessfulMake sure "Motorola H3" is turned on and in rangeWhat's missing is the pairing passcode entry - weird! Lost iphone

Hi, Yesterday I lost my iphone 5 which I bought 3 months back... I filled a police complaint, but i am not very hopeful with them. As Indian police will never make a move to find a cell phone. Anyways, Fortunately the "find my iphone" app was there in the phone and the location services were enabled with data. I tried to find it out from icloud.com portal but cell seems to be offline. And on calling the cell it is switched off. The only thing which I did not do in my iphone was to set a passcode. I am not sure how does the app behaves if some one restarts the phone. Is it possible for the thief to erase all data despite the app being active on the phone? Is it possible for the thief to use the phone by reseting it to factory setting without me getting location of the phone? I saw in one of the youtube tutorials that the phone will switch on and it ill try to find the data network, and if it finds data then it will send me intimation and blocks the cell. however, what is the scenario if the thief dont use the data and put on the phone? Or if he uses a SIM that does not have data connection? Can they reuse my phone. Can I do anything to prevent them using my iphone. I am trying to get my phone's IMEI number on tracking but dont know if it works before they reprogram my cell.( if at all they have so much brain). Please share your comments, views and suggestions and let me know the answers to the questions which I have asked. Thanks Abhishek Sinha

HiSince I upgraded to the iOS 6.1.3 I am still able to make calls in the car via bluetooth, however I am no longer able to listen to music. Bluetooth is obviously working but the music is no longer being streamed or even detected by the car. It used to work fine before I upgraded. So my iphone 5 ios had a new update today and i did the update with a wifi connection and now it says invalid sim.  Its with Verizon Wireless by the way, the service. I did a hard reset, I did a reset network settings and nada.  I'm now doing a reset all settings and restoring phone to by last backup from iTunes.  Has anyone else run into this problem??
