Complete battery failure iPhone 4S

On Friday of last week my iPhone 4S began to rapidly lose it's charge.  By this I mean from 100% to 65% by 9:30 am, and completely dead by 2:30 in the afternoon.  I turned off my location services and "killed" all the apps running and it did not change my rapid depletion.  This morning I noticed my phone was warm to the touch and when I checked it my battery was down to 10% by 8:30 am and this was after having been at a 100% charge at 07:00 am.  I turned my phone off completely at 8:30 and when I went to turn it back on I got no response, not even the picture of the battery that indicates it needs to be charged.  So when I finished my work shift at 3:30 I put my phone on the charger and it has still yet to turn back on.  Has any body heard or had an issue with this?

Iphone 5 unlocked Amazon Very Problem

Good night;guys, I have a problem and would like some help:I bought it on Amazon, 1 Iphone 5 Unlocked, factory unlocked. The device functioned normally and after an update, it did not take over my chip and says the device is locked (is asking to put a valid chip). After several attempts, I got in touch with the Apple of my country (Brazil), and to my surprise, the search for the serial device, they reported that the device is locked by Sprint and manufactures do not accept support or exchange (The unit has 1 month bought with full price in amazon), telling me to settle with Amazon. I insisted informing them that the unit was purchased unlocked and they also reported that this device is aimed at the European market, it works with CDMA and GSM and Apple Brazil suporPelas just the research I have done and talking to some people, I passed the information that Sprint can easily inform this code (or Imei) not sure which unlocks the device again, but have no information on how to get or do that. I contacted Amazon stating what happened and I'm waiting for a position within it, is to send the code or return the handset. My model is the A1429. Can I trade in my 4s with Apple Care

Lately I've been having probelms with my iPhone 4s. I bought it in July of last year. The problems include: my lock button is jambed, the phone thinks that I have headphones in when I don't, and applications such as Camera and safari constantly crash. The screen also does not always respond when I touch it and it does not ring or vibrate when I recieve calls sometimes (I did check to see if my ringer was on, along with vibrating in Sounds under Settings). I have Apple Care+. Can I trade it in for a refurbished phone? Also, for an extra fee would I be able to trade it in for a refurbished iPhone 5?

Iphone 5 charging but not syncing with Itunes

Have searched thru the posts and have done practically everything I could find and suggusted (inlcuding upgrading, a full reinstall of itunes and a simple reset of iphone (vs a restore which I cannot do as phone doesnt show in devices)  . .but still no go . .  This is also happening with my wife's iphone 5 so this is not personal to my phone. Please Help!!

I have lost my built in apps and do not know how to reinstall them on my phone.  The safari and App Store icons are gone.  I can no longer surf the net on my phone and the little "microphone" key has also disappeared when I send text messages etc.  I now have to actually type the message instead of speaking into my phone.  Siri has also vanished.  Any advice?

Water damage to screen but phone working iPhone 4S

I got a small amount of water in my iphone, at first i thought it was ok but after about half hour the water had spread through my screen, and it started going blotchy and cloudy. The touch screen still works, speakers, charger, camera etc. Only thing is phone wont turn off? I tried the rice for a few hours but didnt do much. Does the apple warrenty cover water damage if not how do i get this repaired?

Multiple problems including broken screen unsure of what to iPhone 5

I have an iPhone 5 still within the 1 year warranty. It has a small crack on the top right of the phone, which doesn't have any effect on the screen or touch capabilities. However, the phone also has a faulty camera and lock button. What I am wondering is, does the fact that the screen is cracked affect the ability to get a warranty replacement for the other two problems? Thanks!

Canadian iPhone 5 in UK

Hello, I bought an iPhone 5 from the Canadian Apple store a few months back. I have just got back to the UK and inserted my UK sim card. I'm on Giff Gaff (O2) I can still make and recieve calls and texts. But most of my apps aren't working. Nor are any of my browsers. iMessage still works over 3G so i dont understand why my apps and safari arent sending or redceiveing data. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance, Tom

apps all gone iPhone 3G

I have an iPhone 3g and my wifi wasn't working at all! The wifi button wasn't working like I couldn't press it at all, so my brother told me to erase my iPhone. I backed it up and erased my iPhone, it didn't work so he told me to jailbreak it because he thought maybe since my iPhone was originally jailbroken it might just need it to be jailbroken again. I did that and when I looked at it again ALL apps were gone! There were no settings, safari, or app store nothing, it was just a blank page! (A blank page with, oddly enough, my same wallpaper still) When I tried to search up things on the iPhone it was found, but it said it was not loaded at all. Help anyone??

touch Screen Insensitivity iPhone 5

Is anyone having issues with a lack of sensitivity  of iPhone 5 screen. I am having to touch items several times to select or scroll the screen, when it does scroll it "jumps" to catch up making it hard to operate smoothly. I Also notice that the screen appears to have shifted up slightly cutting off top of wi-fi and battery symbols. These symptoms don't always happen and I cant be sure I can show them to a Genius. This my 4th iphone, so my expectations are only what I have experienced with the others.

Two reasons why I would not by an iPhone again

Hi all, yesterday I had two requirements from my iPhone 4 and none of them was fulfilled, so I decided that this is my last Apple device. If any of you can change my mind, go ahead a try. 1st, I wanted to copy a file (pdf) from my local drive at home and then open it in ezPDF Reader. So I used NetPortalLite to access my drive and downloaded the file inside the NetPortalLite. But when I wanted to move the file to ezPDF app it didn't let. Why it is so complicated to move files between apps? I have tried to copy in NetPortalLite, then paste in ezPDF Reader... it didn't work! 2nd, I wanted to access my local drive at home to run a video file. This function is available only in paid apps, although other mobile OS have this ability. Why it is not possible to browse local drives directly from the iOS or safari? Is it so hard to implement this function to the iOS and make it available by SMB://IP_ADDRESS or \IP_ADDRESS? Thanks

Brand New iPhone 5 Terrible Battery Life

I recently purchased an iPhone 5 (Monday, May 6th) and am convinced that the battery is defective. I attempted to get the phone replaced by AT&T since it is within their 14-day Return/Exchange policy, but of course they denied me based on it being a "technical" issue and therefore a problem I need to take up with Apple. Whatever that means.Background info: Left the house around 10:00 AM, battery fully charged at 100%Finished class at 12:00 PM, battery dropped to 53% (VERY minimal use, I was sitting through a lecture)Arrived at AT&T store at 12:15 PM, battery at 51%AT&T Rep turns off LTE, Wireless, Location Services, Bluetooth and Auto BrightnessThe only apps that were opened/used were Text, Mail (fetch set to Manual) and SafariAT&T Rep says there's nothing he can do, but these changes should "help"Left AT&T 12:25 PM, hopped on bus, got home at 12:45 PM, battery drops to 43% (ZERO use)Call nearby Apple store at 12:50 PM to set up an appointment (Call length: 11 minutes), battery drops to 41%Call Customer Support at 1:30 PM to run remote battery diagnostic (Call length: 16 minutes), battery drops to 32%Apple Rep says the diagnostics looks normal...... Battery life: 30%Usage: 2 hours 26 minsStand by: 6 hours and 3 minutes This can't be right. iPhone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used

I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me.  About two months ago, lines began showing up in safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped.  It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again.  It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back.  I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff.  SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty.  I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Playback speed for IPhone 3GS-where it

Hi all, I have a few Audiobooks which I listen to on my IPhone 3GS a lot and I put a couple more and last night I downloaded them and now they have an echo which it didnt before.  From what i have read I need to change the playback speed but from all the feedback I have seen online there is no icon on my phone at the bottom right corner I can touch to change it.  I have just about tried everything with no luck. PLEASE is there anyone that can help me. I have already lost these books once and have spent a lot of money getting them back.  I will very angry if I cant listen to this now. Hi everyone... I want to ask question, I just realise that I Can't do anything (swipe, text, ect) when my iphone placed on the flat surface. To be able to swipe or text i must literally hold the iphone with my hand. When the iphone was placed on the flat surface (table for example), The screen do not respond at all when I just do the swipe and text with my finger (I don't touch the iphone with my hand).But when I picked up the phone and hold it with my hand, the screen began to respond to my finger,,  Anyone facing the same problem ?Do we have to hold the iphone with our hand in order to be able to swipe or text ? If anyone have the answer to this problem, please let me know, because it was so frustating now that I can't do anything when my phone was placed on the table.

Multiple iPhone 4S issues continuing

I am tired of my iPhone 4S already after suffering through issues upon issues with the device. My screen is having issues now where at a moment's chance it goes dim. I have to reset the device to get the brightness back to normal. I've tried restoring without any luck of this resolving. Another gripe I have is that I'm continuing to have issues with apps like Mail, safari, and other Apple installed apps just continuously force closing. I've been sending emails back and forth on my iPhone only to have Mail force close and I lose everything in my message. The phone acts sluggish and performs worse than previous 4S devices I've owned. I've had issues upon issues across multiple iPhone 4S devices. The device I have currently is my 5th iPhone 4S and even tho its less than a few months old after it was sent to me after multiple filler iPhones of refurb models from the store, I continue to experience issues that make me use my iPhone less and less as it becomes more unreliable with the crashes and multiple restores. My closest store is not within close distance so that's made owning an iPhone with issues difficult as not every thread on the communities forum touch on half the problems I continue to have. Thankfully at least Siri knows where I'm located compared to my other devices where she always thought I was in Pittsburgh where I picked the phone up at my nearest store over an hour and a half away. Now everything just seems to be more of a deficiency with iOS and the hardware than anything. Obviously there must be something wrong with the latest stocks of 4S devices if my issues are continuing. When I restore I'm always setting up as a new device. I'm never downloading or redownloading anything from my Mac or PC. Everything is just redownloading apps from iCloud within the App Store and having a ton of missing photos in my photo stream. I just don't understand what is wrong with my iPhone. I never experienced these kind of issues with my iPhone 3GS so its hard to swallow how terrible the 4S has performed with every single device I keep getting. I'm at a loss on what I can do. Does anyone have any tips I should try that Apple hasn't provided me with to fix or at least band-aid the issue long enough till I can upgrade with my carrier?

Iphone google redirect virus iPhone 4S

I have iPhone 4S and using chrome app. Google recently give me a lot of problem, it redirect to me to some website I never heard before such as http://corp.kaltura.com/. It was different website couple days ago. I tried on safari, both app will have problem at the same time. If I can use google, safari and chrome will both work, if google has problem, both will have problem (google only). I tried on search box or type google.com, clear all the histories and cookies. Could not solve problem.  Sometimes turn off the iphone then turn it back on will temperately solve the problem, but it come back again. Yahoo search engine has no problem at all. Anyone know how to fix that PS: sometimes I get google authentication requirement, but this redirect issue is not link to that. They are happen at two different times

not purchase LifeProof case iPhone 5

Less than two months ago, I purchased an iPhone 4S 16G, as well as a LifeProof case, which the dealer told me was superior to an Otterbox. It is touted to be waterproof, dirtproof, snow/iceproof, and shockproof. Up until today, I have been quite pleased with my case, though the screen protector does make it a bit harder to to tap the screen. Today, I had my phone in my pocket. When I bent over, it fell out and hit the ground from a height of two feet. It was completely in its case, and I had performed all the checks recommended before using the case. It fell on to carpet. When I picked it up, the case was undamaged, but the entire front of my phone was shattered. It look as though it had been hit by a bullet. The screen still worked, but it was covered with tiny shards of glass. The damage seemed focused around the ear speaker at the top of the phone. I have in the past dropped an iPod touch, sans case, face down onto tile, and the damage was about 4x less than the current damage on my phone. I immediately called Apple, who told me that the warranty did not apply to my situation (though this was not a surprise). I would have to replace my phone, refurbished for $150 or new for $200. I then called LifeProof, at which point I discovered that their warranty only covers the case. They will not refund your phone, though they offered to give me a new case. The person I spoke to told me that he used a LifeProof case, and that his screen had cracked several times while using it. He recommended going to an independent phone dealership who would repair my screen. In short, this overpriced case does almost nothing. To be fair, I have had no problems with the waterproof aspect of the case. However, it will not protect your phone from even the most minor drop that would normally not damage the phone at all. I have seen several accounts of LifeProof owners who put their phone in their pocket and pull it out cracked. This case is not worth $1, let alone $80. For emphasis, I have included some photos of what my phone looks like after the fall. Remember, this was only two feet and onto carpet while in the supposedly shock-proof case.

A few days ago I got my iPhone unlocked from my provider (Telstra) as I am about to travel and wanted to put a country specific sim in it. Since then no non-Apple apps have worked.I have tried (many times) to :- 1. restore from a previous backup (plus multiple syncs) and using different backups2. delete an app and reinstall it3. download a new free app (and when that didn't work I deleted it and retried installing it)4. sign in and out of the app store on the iphone5. sign in and out of the app store on my iMac6. de-authorise and re-authorise my iMac7. wipe the iPhone clean and start with a fresh install8. And reset the device too many times. Nothing I have found on any site has worked. I thought the wipe the phone clean would have done it but it hasn't.I have wasted about 20 hours trying to get this thing working again. If I wasn't going on vacation tomorrow I would be at my provider getting them to fix their mess but I can't. Can anyone help? iPhone 5 battery drain

I got an iPhone 5 on Friday and the battery *****. I've read every single forum, done everything, reset all settings, drained battery to 0 and then back up, even restarted to factory settings, turned off push, limited notifications, every thing every forum has told me to do. I even went to apple and they were no help at all, telling me my battery was normal. I don't think sleeping with 100% and waking up with 75% is normal, or getting 2 hours if limited use from my phone throughout the day. I have no idea what to do and I'm getting so tired of this. I did not pay 1000$ and wait 5 months for this. I really expected so much more. Someone help me, and give me a right answer, to help me fix this. Seriously getting so ******. I had a screen sensitivity issue with my original 4s.  It would react to my finger getting within about 1/4 inch of the screen, and would auto dial without anyone touching the screen.  Fortunately, It happened to actually do this in front of one of the 'geniuses' on my third trip to the apple store so they replaced the phone about 5 months ago.  I was given a 90 day warranty on the new phone.  It worked fine until last week.It started cycling on and off.  Then it wiped the phone and all of my apps.  I restored the phone but there would be a noticeable hesitation between when I touched the screen and when the touch registered.  This went on for two days.During those two days the power indicator did not ever show any indication there had been any battery drain, but always showed 100% charged, days, then went dead without ever showing it was discharging.  I took it to the Apple store.  They tried to do the same restore I had.  The phone came back on, but then cuts on and off to the Apple logo.  The battery will take a charge, but as it sits on the charger it cuts on and off.  The store solution was for me to purchase a new phone since they either had no idea what the problem was, or wouldn't tell me.  The phone has not had rough treatment or been exposed to water or excessive moisture.   Any suggestions?

I'm new to touch screens and just got an iphone 4, i turned voice control on and may have set another item wrong because i can't scrool in any area. try to set voice control off but cant scrool in settings? Very confused and stressed.

way to bypass Siri when using bluetooth headset iPhone 4S

Is there a way to bypass Siri when using a bluetooth headset to make a call? I press the call button on my headset (Plantronics M50), but I still must touch the Siri mike icon on the iPhone 4S to verbally make the call.

touch screen not responding after water damage iPhone 5

Hello community. I do get the fact that there is million of threads, but I want to know the opinion of others on this particular case. I dropped my phone into the toilet (luckily, it was clear) and immediately got it out. As I had no experience with these kind of accidents, I actually didn't turn off the phone. I used a towel and then I wobbled my phone to get rid of the water. Then, as the phone started rebooting itself, I dried it with a hairdryer (yes, I'm an idiot) and used a vacuum cleaner to help the proccess. It kept saying this error [NAND] FileFlashAndMedia or something like that, so I turned it off for good and tried to restore it - I started getting the -1 error. After several repetitions, iTunes finally started restoring my iPhone 5 and everything was back to normal. But then I came to the dreadful realization that the screen does not respond. Everything is ok - all the buttons, the display, even the sound seeems to be fine. So after these 15 minutes of panicking I started to read articles and watch videos of other people. Put the phone in a bowl of rice, sealed it and I turn it on from times to times to find out if the screen started responding. Any suggestions? Do you think there is a possibility to recover it?

Lock button not working still have warranty. What I have to iPhone 4S

Hello!  Yesterday my lock button stopped working. I still have my warranty but the problem is I live in Belgium and there is no Apple Store there. Is there any way I can get my phone repaired without having to go abroad? I'm now using Assistive touch but it just doesn't feel the way it should... Greetings & thanks!

'other' bar taking up too much space on iphone

ok i've seen this brought up a lot on here so it's definitely happened to other people, where the 'other' bar that shows up on itunes when it shows what's taking up space on your phone takes up way too much space. my phone has 8GB of space (which is apparently only 6.34GB). my audio files are only taking up 2.66GB. i don't have any apps on my phone because i thought if i deleted them it might do something but it didn't, and i can't download any more. i can't use the camera at all. the other bar is taking up 3.66GB of space on my phone and i have no idea what to do. i've searched online for like 2 weeks trying to find a way to get rid of it but it's still there. i already tried restoring it and it didn't do anything. i tried the 'phone clean' thing and it didn't do anything. i saw this comment on a discussion on here that said to go into advanced settings under the safari settings and delete all the web history and i did that and i thought it fixed it but it didn't. i'm still looking up things that could work but i honestly have no idea what to try anymore. is there anything i can do to get rid of it ??

Iphone 5 dust under screen

Hi,  Its been 2 months since i got my iphone 5 and i see dust getting accumulated under my screen. Its not a tiny spec or something but i see a lot of dust. So its pretty annoying to see that everytime i use the phone with a light background like browsing on safari or something.  Does this count as a manufacturing defect ? Can i get a replacement for this ? Thanks
