If email has PDF attachment I cant read text portion of email iPhone 4

I noticed that if the message had a PDF attachment, then that icon is all I see. The text portion seems to have been ignored, although I can see it in the preview of the message. Very strange.RgdsKen 2.8 Dual Quad Core Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Assassins Creed Discovery-game fail iPhone 4

I purchased Assassins Creed Discovery on 6-24-10 and have never been able to play it. I have both the latest version of iTunes and iPhone OS 4. Every time I get to the end of the tutorial it crashes. Ive closed out the app in backgrounding and restarted, no change. Ive restarted my phone, no change. Ive deleted it from the phone and redownloaded, no change. Ive deleted it from iTunes, no change.I contacted Ubisoft and was told they are aware of this and that was it. I tried their solutions, no change.At this point I want a refund and tried going though the report a problem link from my purchase history and Apple says they dont support issues with the apps and to contact the developer.I want my $6 back and all Im getting is a runaround. iPhone 4 iOS 4

Hotmail with iPhone 4

Im not very technical-minded and Ive tried to research this on the internet, but there are a load of terms I dont understand, and Im hoping a kind person on here could explain something to me in laymans terms..My boyfriend has an iPhone 4, and a hotmail account. Hes had this email account from the very beginning, and refuses to get rid of it, but it doesnt work beautifully with the phone like my macmail does, and he has to go into his emails to find out if theres a new one, and also if he deletes an email on his phone, it doesnt delete on his hotmail account on the computer. I have read something about gmail letting you forward messages from a hotmail account, does anyone know about this? iPhone 4 Bug List-iOS 4.0.2

I just wanted to post this topic as Im curious if the Apple monster will even read this or address them. I hope I get surprised. Apple makes, hands down, the most high quality of devices, but they tend to have it there way more than ours. I guess thats what makes them Apple. Without further ado, here is my list of bugs Ive noticed and I hope youll add to it. I would just love to see Apple address these:1. Performance issues with Podcasts and multiple-tasking. Youll hear stuttering on occasion, sometimes often while playing a podcast or even music. Ive noticed this at random and also at times when the phone locks or when switching out of the iPod.2. I just noticed this one: if you take the time to write on this exact site, you will find yourself getting lost, as sometimes the text goes on, and the screen doesnt follow it. Suprising that even on the iPhones home site, it cant perform the way it ought to. Youll also notice that below here, its asking me what hardware Im using and what OS. It should be clear what hardware Im on and even what OS Im running. Brilliant, considering this is Apple.com, I selected the iPhone 4 section, and the browser can report the os version. Oh wow, I just lost my text again and had to press the expanding icon on the bottom right of this pane. Also, sometimes i lose my text permanently where I should be able to scroll down to find it but there arent scroll bars... The attention to detail of the aesthetics of the phone cant be matched on the outside, but again, leave a lot to be desired on the inside.3. Echo for the remote callers own voice when my phone is plugged into a stereo through the headphone jack. Even when my volume is so low, I cant hear it.4. While heavily texting, if I exit out to the home screen after/during the send of the text, my phone will freeze for a good 60-120 seconds. If I press too many buttons, trying to get it to respond, it will reboot itself instead of coming back to life. Again this only happens (very seldom) when Im sending texts to multiple random people and I abruptly go home while a message is being sent (or maybe received?).5. While playing music, the quality will often drop drastically when entering a game or application that has sounds. This has only happened in two places so far. While talking on the phone, if I go to play music on the iPod to hear in my headphones, and when entering Bejeweled 2 Blitz with the in-game music off and the sounds on, while iPod music is being played. I do not believe this is Bejeweled at fault. Try it, make a call and try and play some background music in your headphones. The quality drops to a very unacceptable level.Thats actually all I can think of for now! Please fix these issues Apple and I will gain a good bit of respect, knowing you heard and acknowledged this. Also, please, everyone post your findings as well, in addition to the Bluetooth, and proximity bugs that have seemingly been addressed but not resolved. iPhone 4 iOS 4 4.0.2, thanks for the option above, and for not already knowing that.

Automatic text While on Phone Call Preset text Message iPhone

I have my first iPhone and cant figure out how to send an automatic text. When I am on a phone call and another call comes in, I am used to hitting a ignore and send text button or something similar that will send a message to the person calling me. This is a preset text that says something like I am on the phone, please leave me a message or similar that at least tells the caller that I am busy. So, the questions are:1. Can I create a preset text like that?2. How do I send it while I am on a call? iPhone4 iOS 4

iPhone wont turn on

I think I am fuked. My iPhone was constantly freezing today. I did a reset (holding down home and power button) I did that twice. I wanted to sync my phone into iTunes so that I could have all of my photos on my computer before my phone stopped working. Well no point. Wont sync. I try turning it on and syncing and all it does is show the apple logo then it shuts down. I am about to cry right now because all my photos from my trip and my text messages are gone. I cant even get my phone on to even try and reset it. I dont know what to do. Windows XP

Emails deleted in Entourage still appear on iphone

I am using 3G iphone (4.0.2) and sync with Entourage 2008 on intel Mac through Exchange server. Had been working fine. Recently - messages deleted in Entourage dont delete on the iphone - very aggravating. I can send email from iphone fine, I can delete messages on iphone and they delete in entourage. Hits the send button so it sends the random text to the recipient.. Then enters another conversation, typing more random text and sends.. And it all happens very fast. And sometimes when attempting to unlock the home screen, I try to hit 6, and it will enter 3333 - wrong code...What is the deal? Software upgrade or should I have it replaced? iPhone Slightly Messed Up-iphone softwae server could not be contacted

Okay so my iphone is kind of messed up. Hi I seem to have a bug on my ipod part of my 3g iphone. All my Christina Aquilera songs from her Back to Basics album displays the album artwork of a guy called Charles Hines, who also has a album of the same name!I have deleted and replaced my music from my ipod twice now and the same problem occurs!The strange thing is I dont have any Charles Hines songs on my itunes or ipod (never heard of him to be honest!) and when I play her songs his album cover comes up! iPhone 4 all 3rd party apps including their data suddenly gone

There is a strange and very annoying bug in iOS 4 (4, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2); every once in while all third party apps including their data get deleted from the iPhone. This happens WITHOUT any user interaction, apparently random and not during sync. The iPhone just rests on the desk unused, then I pick it up again, unlock the screen and find out that all 3rd party apps are gone. The original Apple apps including their data are just fine. Very strange and very annoying. Did someone else suffer from this problem? contacts on iphone 4 arbitrarily duplicating

For some reason my iphone 4 is arbitrarily duplicating some contactsThe duplicates are there but have no information inside.I am syncing contacts with an ipad and several macs and there are no duplicates on any of them, just the iphone 4.I tried deleting them and they came backI deleted all contacts and then synced up from mobile me and the iphone duplicated them again.There are 3-6 duplicates of nearly 20% of all contacts?What gives? Ok i got the iphone4 and sold my ipt and hhone 3g to a friend, his sim card is in he can recieve calls and text but for some reason no ring or text sound and volumn is all the way up and it plays the sound when u choose it but not if recieve call or text, i restored back to factory settings and updated the phone to the newest updates, he can make calls and send texts but for some reason no sound. help would be appreciated. dell Windows 7

Iphone 4 calling issues. screen wont blank out when on call

I am hoping someone can help me. I have just upgraded from iphone 3G to an Iphone 4. When I am on a phone call my face will touch the screen and activate other calls or actions on my phone such as facebook and text messaging. My old 3G phone screen used to black out when on a call so this problem didnt happen. Downgrade from 4.0.2 to 3.1.3 iPhone 3G

Okey, here is the deal.I just got a Iphone 3G and was totally extatic about it and couldnt take my hands off it from about a day (lol). And then i plugged it into itunes today and it told me to upgrade to 4.0.2, so i did... now it takes about 5 seconds to open a text and another 3-4 to get the keyboard up... iv had it less then a day and its already sh*t... iv scanned the forum and im not the only unhappy person, is there any solid way to fix this and downgrade back to 3.1.3? I want my blinking phone to work after iv payed such alot for it =/. Seeing as you cant e-mail Apple for help, you can only call them (kinda dumb to be hones) id rather come here for help.Id love any response / help i can get, is apple going to do anything about this or whats the deal?Thanks Windows 7

Question about screeningrejecting calls etc iPhone 4

Hi, Im new to the forums as of today. I had a 3G for a while, upgraded because of the OS4 issues (to a Samsung Galaxy) then went back and ordered an iPhone 4 instead because, well... I love the interface, apps, and my iTunes music that I was unable to port over. Not a fan of the mp3/computer interfacing of android phones, I think the sync stuff with iTunes is far more user friendly. But...onto my real issue/questionLong story short, I did like one feature from the Galaxy and that was to auto-reject a call with a filler text message such as Im driving or will call back, and I cant figure out how or if we can do this on an iPhone.Ive done some research on this and some google suggestions such as http://www.programmerfish.com/send-auto-sms-on-iphone-4/ say this feature is automatic on this phone since its an iPhone 4 but every time I double click the power button it just sends the call to voicemail with no such interface to send a reject message etc. Does anybody know what the deal is? iPhone 3G Problems

Hi, so i have recently updated the software of my iPhone 3G to 4.0.2, i hoped this would help the iPhone 3G, but obviously not. The phone is going so slow, i have to wait about 2 minutes for my messages, iPod and other things to load up. It also takes a long time to load anything. And i have been experiencing problems with my music to. When i have the headphones in, it doubles the slowness of my iPhone even when the music isnt playing which is really weird. Also, the music has started speeding up for about 90% of the song, so a 3 minute songs finishes in about 15 seconds as it has sped it up for no reason! It does it for every song to. Also, the music will randomly pause even when my phone is on lock and i am not pressing anything. It also does it when its not on lock, and it just goes from the pause sign to the play so i have to press play as it just stops.Does anybody have any fixes for these problems? I have tried to restore my software to 3.0.2 or whatever it was before 4.0.1, but i cant. There isnt a restore date from when i had it. Even a few days after i downloaded 4.0.1 i tried to restore it but it wouldnt let me. I went into the apple store in Newcastle and they told me to restore it but i had and they said there was nothing they could do. SMSMessages-UI buttons to return to chat list disappears iPhone

The messages app (SMS) on my iPhone 3GS running either 4.0.1 or 4.0.2 occasionally fails to display the messages and Edit buttons when looking at an SMS thread. There is no obvious proximate cause for this failure. This makes SMS non-functional as I cant exit the current SMS thread. (I note I am still receiving them - just cant view them.)I can fix the problem by double tapping the home button to bring up the multitasking bar, and quitting the messages app there. I encountered this 3 times on my iPhone 4. Weird glitch. Everytime I open Photos app it instantly creates new email iPhone 4

Empty address bar and what isnt even the newest picture in the roll. I even deleted all instances of the picture it is using and it still does it. As soon as I open up Photos, I just tries to email that same picture everytime. Its annoying having to click cancel, then delete draft every-time. I checked my drafts folder too, empty. iPhone 3G Screen Jumping FYI

Multitasking Music and text iPhone

I am considering getting a iphone 4, and selling my ipod touch. Although I like to listen to music a lot and I would also like to text and talk on the phone. Does this phone allow me to listen to music and also talk on the phone at the same time, or listen to music and text at the same time? This would probably be done via bluetooth. I want to bluetooth stream music to a set of speakers (in my car or at home) and still be able to talk and text freely without disturbing my music in the car. Is this possible? Gateway Windows Vista

iPhone 4 Bluetooth and Dodge My Gig-cause it to power off

My iPhone 4 with OS 4.0.1 was working great - I did the upgrade to 4.0.2 and now whenever Bluetooth is turned on it causes my My GiG car system to power cycle. It will then come on for a couple of minutes and then power off/on again. If I turn off Bluetooth on the iPhone - no problems.I have deleted Pairing - tried making a new Bluetooth connection - same thing. Ive upgraded from PC to MacBook Pro and iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4-HELP

I am currently using a PC and have my iPhone 3GS synced to that unit.I decided to upgrade my PC to a MacBook Pro two days ago and have received my new iPhone 4 today.My question is – how am I able to get my current iPhone 3GS back up that is on my PC on to my new MacBook pro so that I can sync my music/contacts/notes/messages etc to my new iPhone 4?I have avoided syncing my current iPhone 3GS to the new MacBook as I knew I would be receiving my iPhone 4 this week.Please help – Losing my iPhone data is not an option as I have extremely important contacts/text messages that I need to keep for legal reasons. Keyboard effectiveness degraded after iOS 4 iPhone 3G

Anyone noticing a difference when using the keyboard after upgrading 3G to v4? I used to be able to text pretty quickly with my thumbs (I have small hands). But now it seems like there is either a lag or my taps are not registering. Strangely, its mostly the spacebar. I have it set to the double-tap adds the period, which doesnt always register. Dial strings with non-numerics not pass from email app to phone app iPhone

Ive noticed that I can create a contact with a dial string that includes non numerics, and can successfully place a call from that contact entry. For example, the following dial string, 1115551212,,123456# will dial (111)555-1212, pause for a few seconds, and then enter 123456#. This could be useful for dialing into a corporate voicemail system and then having the phone automatically transmit your password digits so you dont have to fumble with manual password entry.However, Ive discovered that if the exact same string is included in the subject of an email, when you click on the number youre asked if you want to dial the number (same as clicking on any number in an email subject line or text body), but when you click on Dial, nothing happens. It appears that the mail application is unable to pass a dial string with non-numerics to the phone application, even though you can dial the exact same string from a contacts entry successfully.Anyone know if theres a fix in the works for this issue, or possibly a workaround? iPhone 3GS iOS 4

Greetings! Im very new to iPhone and this discussion site, and looking for some answers. Im in Toronto, Canada and I ordered my iPhone 4 from the Apple online store with no voice/data/text plan - I think this would make it an unlocked version. I will get my iPhone 4 delivered tomorrow (at least thats what Fedex tracking site says) and Im planning to use it with my existing Rogers no-term contract for the time being. I hope I would be able to use it also with other carriers, if needed, or other pre-paid (micro)SIM cards. I do have a SIM card on my Rogers no-term contract (obviously) - does anybody know if Rogers will make me buy a new micro SIM card (as this is the only format iPhone 4 accepts)? What if I use a micro SIM cutter and adjust my current SIM - would my iPhone 4 work without having to involve Rogers? I guess I would still have to activate it - is this done using iTunes only, or do I have to involve a Rogers rep?Your help is truly appreciated!

Since the iOS4 upgrade, apps crawl and crash. Apple tech support helped me disable push technology for calendars and notes and messages. Crippling the functionality improved performance back to pre iOS4 levels. Iphone Loosing 3G and or EDGE connection during long phone call.

I have called AT&T twice on this issue and still the problem exists and described to them what I am writing below. However I do think this problem is a carrier issue and not a hardware issue but I do think other users and apple should be made aware of this problem I am having beginning at 19:31 hrs C.S.T. I initiated 1hr and 31 minute phone call. My setting was set to have 3G enabled and 3G data enabled. At the beginning of the call I looked I had 4 out of 5 bars and 3G was indicated on the top left corner of the screen to the right of the AT&T logo somewhere mid stream during the call I noticed the 3G logo was gone the E for EDGE logo was gone , I had 5 bars full strength but no 3G nor E , tried to send a MMS message to the person I was talking too since 3G allows both voice and text or MMS capability. While Edge does not. Of curse the Multi Media message failed indicated on the screen message fail and a red icon next to the picture. So I hung up the phone and closely watched the screen a small circle quickly appeared next to the AT&T logo then it turned to an E then back to a small circle then back to an E this process went on for about 40 seconds then the icon changed to 3G. I made the phone call from my home in central Texas about 20 miles east of Fort Hood in Belton Texas along the I-35 corridor according to at&t map we are in a 3g coverage area. My uncle I was talking to was on I-20 west bound rolling in a semi truck between Fort Worth TX and Abilene TX on his way to Lubbock Texas. This time he was rolling or moving in a vehicle last week when the same problem occurred he was sitting stationary on the east side of Dallas Texas near Mesquite TX. Notes for Iphone 3G after upgrade

I upgraded the Iphone3G to the IOS 4.0.1Now the Iphone is very slow and i cant open the Notes. some SMS and contact was deleted but most important the notes.when i open notes i cant see any note or create new ones.Itunes is taking backup but for syncing it was not processing before.now itunes syncing is giving Unknown error -39.what should i do? i want my original phone status back again without losing my notes, sms, phone calls.should i upgrade to 4.0.2? Once week ago, I bought my iPhone 4 and I downloaded Case Program, I join the iPhone in my iTunes account and I run the App.I tried to login in it but a message appears to me:Your Apple ID or password was entered incorrectlyBut this is false because I tried to login in it like 10 times writing correctly the password and the ID but I cant! iPhone 4 and Windows XP

Hello all, My family and I recently all purchased iPhone 4s and my parents are experiencing problems with their computer. My parents use Windows XP where as I have been using Mac OS X since 10.4. The problem that was experienced is that after my father synced his phone the computer started to run slow. We waited and restarted the computer, because it was impossible to do anything, before syncing my mothers phone. After starting to sync my mothers phone, the computer froze and was non responsive from all forms of input. Once it managed to restart it would freeze in the boot sequence. Without my knowledge, my father decided to try and fix the problem himself and now the only thing the computer will do is display a black screen with the message DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. After inserting the disk, it will go to the Windows XP Professional Setup page and try to guide us through the setup or repair of the OS. My father named the drive h: instead of c: so it will not respond to any of the commands that I know how to use to try and recover the OS and now the system states that the there are unknown disk <there is no disk in this drive>. With the background being out of the way; what needs to be done to recover their previous install of Windows XP? If I go through and install, will it erase all of their data? Please help! I will also try to find another appropriate section to post this under, but this was the first I could think of seeing as how the problem started when we synced their iPhone 4sThanks for any answers! To delete particular number in IPhone 4 Recent Calls Log

In IPhone 4, it is possible to delete or keep a particular message in your messages list. This function does not appear to be possible when it comes to delete a particular phone number in your Recent calls list. The only given option is to delete all recent calls. Even if you go in the Info page of a particular caller, it does not give you an option to delete that number. It is very normal and rather desirable to keep some important numbers in your recent calls list for future reference and delete the numbers you dont want. This deletion process for the individual numbers in your Recent List would help to remove the clutter of unnecessary calls & therefore extra burden on the phone resources. iPhone 4 doesnt vibrate when on call

Whenever Im on the phone and I receive a text message my phone doesnt vibrate. I have it set to vibrate on silent and if the switch isnt moved to silent it makes the sound for a text when Im on the phone but if its on silent it never vibrates.My old 3G would but now this one wont. Is this a bug or a hardware problem?Does anyone else have this issue? iPhone 4 - 16 GB iOS 4

iphone upgrade to 4.0.2. deletes contacts

Me and my wife recently updgraded our phones to the new version of itunes 4.0.2 and it deleted all my contacts on my phone. Once the version was updated it wiped my back-up file that the contacts were listed under. Does anyone have a solution for me? Is this happening to anyone else? Dell Windows 7

I fixed my 3G after dreadful Software Update. iPhone 3G

I did a restore phone as new ... and I started from scratch.. I think the secret is to keep your phone as empty as you can (even though thats RIDICULOUS to have to do that) but I deleted a lot of my music and the phone runs pretty fast. Not as fast as it did before the update but its SO much faster than it was. So, if you are desperate for a fast phone and can loose some of your stuff (music, etc).. I recommend it . iPhone update and iPhoto

I just uploaded a few photos from my iPhone 3G to iPhoto and then updated my iPhone 3G to the newest software. In iPhoto, I kept the images on my phone after uploading. But in the camera roll on my phone they are now black. The photos I did not upload to iPhoto are still fine. I even deleted them from iPhoto and plugged my phone in again but they remain black.
