Message not sending intermittent problem iPhone

I just got the iPhone 3gs yesterday and have problems with SMS. I can be sending and receiving fine and then all of a sudden the phone doesnt send the message, and i dont get messages in. Until i turn the phone off then back on they send again and i receive okay. I have had to turn it off already twice in the past hour. Any ideas on why this is happening? The messages are not full either and i can send one fine and then reply and it wont send. iPhone OS 3.0

I signed up to Follow a Brewery. I received the sign up on the messages icon on the iPhone. The Brewery posts tweets and I can get them through Echofon (a Twitter-like APP on my phone). Please help! After I did the 3.1.3 update I am no longer able to text message pictures! I called apple customer service and that was no help, can someone help me? It is ridiculous that they offer an update and encourage us to get it done but yet it messes up all of our settings. Im either the unluckiest person on this planet or theres just something so very wrong!Is there such a thing as using the Internet too much on an iPhone? Accessing and using apps too much?I have had 2 iPhones, original and replacement. My second one now I havent even had for a month. Ive had 2 SIM cards, original and replacement. My second one now I havent even had for 2 weeks. Im having issues with my Internet service as some of you who may have helped me in my previous posts know. I can have full 3G coverage and full area coverage yet its impossible to get anything that requires the Internet to load or work. Getting constant error loading messages that Im not connected to the Internet, when I definitely am connected to the Internet. Turning the phone off then on doesnt work. Connecting iPhone up to charge or sync doesnt work. The Internet is very intermittent and just works whenever it wants to. Have been in contact with my carrier several times, they tell me each time I have very strong and great coverage in my area and shouldnt be having these problems. Ive done nothing differnt with both the replacement iPhone or SIM card than I did with my original of both. Im only left to wonder is there any bad apps that can cause issues? I dont even have that many apps on my iPhone and have plenty of space free. I dont visit any dodgy websites, or sites that would be likely to have viruses etc. Im at the stage now where I am seriously thinking of handing back the iPhone and cancelling my service because Im paying a large amount per month for something Im having continuing issues with and its just not acceptable anymore. iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.1.3

New 3GS iPhone-unable to send SMSTXT messages

I recently purchased a 16GB 3GS iPhone and am somewhat disappointed with the product. I am now stuck with it, so must persist !My main issue, is the sudden and inexplicable loss of ability to send text messages ! The send icon no longer illuminates (as it is supposed to) and I cannot respond to, or send new text messages. This function worked as advertised for about five days prior to becoming unserviceable.I have updated the firmware/software via iTunes and have constantly rebooted the phone to no effect. Ive also withdrawn and re-inserted the SIM card.Nothing works !!My other major issue with this phone, is the degraded battery life !! I have turned off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G and dimmed the display. I barely use the phone for voice conversations and usually only send 10-15 SMS/TXT per day. When I am not using my iphone and i get my message tone, I get an accompanying message pop-up saying that I have a text message from so-and-so. Can i disable the pop-up entirely?I already have show preview turned off under settings -> messages. Thanks. iPhone OS 3.1.2

Apple ID not really working. iPhone 3G

Heya, I have a problem with my Apple ID. When Im going to download free games from Appstore, they ask me to fill in all the information on Billing Information, in which they send me to that page, and I fill in all thats needed. When I finally click on Submit, a red text appears telling me to type my Apple ID and password, go to Billing Information, and fill in. Theyre basically telling me to do exactly what Im doing. So Im not getting any further. Does someone else have this problem aswell, or am I the first one? And can someone please tell me how to make it right? Windows XP Windows XP

So I really need help to figure this one out. Suddenly when I get a message it only vibrates even though all sounds are on and when someone calls the sound works perfectly normal. I have tried looking under settings - sounds - new text message - and then when I try to choose the sound I want to hear when the new message comes it wont let me listen to it so Im thinking this is where the problem is. I often text reminders to myself....so in the text conversation with myself theres the green sent bubble and the white recieved message bubble. Then all of a sudden today, the recieved texts started showing up in my yahoo email inbox. My iphone is now showing the predictive text and saying it outloud! I can not shut off the voice. Does anyone know how to shut this off? Everyone around you can hear it when you are texting! Failure to sendreceive SMS and MMS iPhone

I have kept immaculate care of my iPhone 3GS since I bought it last June. I make sure to sync it regularly and it is in great shape. However I have recently discovered that occasionally when I send a text or picture message that the recipient does not get it. Likewise I have not been receiving a large number of text and picture messages. There is primarily 3 people I message regularly and they all report that I am not sending/receiving about 1/5th of the items. Cant Send or Receive Calls and text messages in My Local Area iPhone 3G

This morning, 6 miles away from home my iPhone worked well. When I arrived home and tried the same, calls and texts failed. There is a cell tower less than one mile from my home and the same thing happened last summer and several weeks ago. AT&T is telling me that I need to replace my phone because when I took the SIM card out and put in into my old RAZR phone it worked. I just put the SIM card back into my iPhone and all is well. AT&T claims to have a problem with the local cell tower, but because my RAZR worked, they are blaming the iPhone. I dont think they are correct. I have restored the iPhone, updated my OS, turned it on and off several times in the process.My iPhone is out of warranty and I cant get an answer from Apple for free. Has anyone had this problem? My friend sent me a video today and when I tried to listeng to it I couldn't listen to it. The sound was all cracked up. When I came home that day I tried to play music on my phone and it didn't work, all I could hear was little noise so I thought k broke my phone. Hi,I have an iphone 3g, and when Im making calls the screen is still active. Thats a probleme because I can press at anytime mute or other features.I searched on this forum, but the only answer I fund was to remove the cover, which I did but didnt solve the problem.The sensor looks ok as, for exemple, if I go to the iPod > See the Albums as cover and turn the screen it follows. Trouble Sending text messages after updating to 3.1.3 iPhone

So last night I updated to 3.1.3 and now i am having serious trouble sending text messages. At about the 90% mark the sending progress bar stops and then Ill get the red exclamation mark stating my message was not sent. If i try to resend the text about 4 or 5 times it will finally go through. I am at work where I know I have a connection to AT&Ts network. I have never had trouble here before. I have tried resetting the phone multiple times and the network settings. Not sure what to do? Any suggestions would be great. MacBook Pro

iPhone stuck on white Apple boot screen cannot recover even in DFU mode. 3G

Basically, the phone was on charge all day via USB on my laptop, locked the screen and then when I got back from work it was powered off and couldnt switch it on. So, I performed a reset and the phone now only boots to the white apple and no further. I can only get it to do this whilst plugged into the mains charger, not on battery OR via USB to my laptop. I have tried leaving on charge overnight, 3 different laptops and finally an XP PC, all dont seem to power the phone on, only when I plug into the wall.Ive tried a recovery, but the problem is I can only get the phone into recovery mode whilst plugged into the wall i.e. I get the connect to itunes graphic up but as soon as I unplug the USB and connect to the PC, the screen goes blank or at least dims anyway as I can still see the graphic, just greyed out. I then have to reset the phone again (connected to power).So, tried DFU mode, iTunes detects it (hooray I thought), downloads the 3.1.3 firmware, jumps to preparing iphone for recovery and then sits there as the phone then becomes disconnected from the PC i.e. USB disconnect sound is heard. I then get a 1601 error (I have the iphone updater log if you want it) and am back to square one. Like Ive said, Ive tried 3 different laptops and a PC, from Windows 7 to XP, 3 different cables and 2 different chargers and it does the same thing on all of them. I have thought of trying to find a USB dock with a seperate power supply but now sure if they exist of if this will help.Determined to fix this as I think the phone is great, if only Apple can sort out the battery life issues!Hope someone can help. If its been asked and answered, could someone please point me to it? Because I cant seem to word the search right, or...Im an iPhone newbie and I want ringtones. Only thing is I dont necessarily want ringtones made of songs I have purchased, so I go to a sight that allows people to make their own. Anyway, I did this and when I sync-ed my iPhone to it, it deleted all my music. Can anyone help me recover my Iphone 3G from an interrupted synch? I accidentally swithed to my Itouch when my Iphone was in backup mode. Now, Itunes does not recognize my Iphone. When someone calls me, my iPhone automatically recognizes who it is if I have the person as a contact. But when I receive a text message, the persons phone number plus country code shows up, and not the contact name. Unable to switch carrier-O2 cant unlock me iPhone 3G

So, Ive been trying for 3 weeks now to get my phone unlocked / unlatched by O2 in the UK. Ive received 2 text messages telling me it is - it isnt. Ive connected to Itunes with my new Vodafone Sim in lots of times and get the following message sometimes in English and sometimes Spanish -The SIM card inserted in this IPhone does not appear to be supported. Ive completely restored it twice. Ive spoken to O2 who tell me its an apple problem and apple who tell me its an O2 problem. Apparently theyve escalated it in Apple, O2 told me three days ago and now I hear nothing. Any suggestions? The phone works fine when I use my wifes O2 sim. Iphone 3g iPhone OS 3.1.3

texting confusion please help iPhone 3G

Im having a problem with my iPhone 3G. When i text the little send bar at the top stops about 90% of the way across and stays like that. This stops me from recieving new texts until i reset my iPhone. Its really annoying. However even when this happens the messege DOES actually send to the recipient so im confused about whats happening. When I am typing an text message on my iPhone, a suggested word comes up while I am typing. That is great most of the time, but there are times I do not want to use that word and I can not figure out how to avoid the suggested word from replacing what I am typing. Ive had my iPhone 3G for 2 years and love it. But it decided that it would stop working last night. The power/sleep button hasnt worked for over a year, and now my screen has stopped working (it doesnt recognize me touching it). I know its not frozen because the home button still works Ive been receiving text messages. Any suggestions? Ive tried plugging it in and trying to sync with iTunes and that doesnt work. Im waiting on it to die so it will reset, but in the case that it is still not working after that, Im going to need some help.

Hello. Just the other day I finally updated my iphone 3G so I could send MMS/ Picture messages but it doesnt seem to be working. Whenever I try to send an mms it starts to send (the sending bar comes up) but it can never fully send the message and the red exclamtion mark pops up. I read the troubleshoot article and followed and checked everything that it mentioned like restarting my iphone, making sure that I have the MMS service turned on in my phone settings, making sure that it is compatible with the service I have making sure that when I send it its on 3G and making sure I have all the current updates. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks 3G
