Facebook push notifications not working on iPhone 4S 6.1.3 and Macbook Pro OS X 10.8.3

Hi there! There are troubles with Facebook push notifications on my two iPhones 4 (iOS 6.1.2) and 4S (iOS6.1.3) and on my Macbook Pro 15 (OS X 10.8.3). There are no any push notifications about new messages or "likes" by integrated Facebook App and by Facebook app prom iTunes too. I have notifications in notification center about statuss updates and comments, but sounds there are no at all. Everything in settings are switched on:-Settings/Facebook-Settings/notifications/Facebook-Facebook/Account Settings/notifications/Mobile push I have done anything i can. Signed Out from all apps, deleted Facebook App, swithed off and then swithed on notifications, Signed In again and again. What can i do to solve this problem? I realy need notifications about messages on iOS and OS X.

Which uses most battery on standby 2G wifi or just wifi iPhone 5

Hello, Which mode uses most battery when the phone is on standby and on a wifi network and has 2G (EDGE) coverage.. 2G+wifi or just wifi? I believe it is 2G+wifi because when you put your phone to sleep, it turns off wifi leaving push connected through 2G which consumes very low power. If I have only wifi enabled, the phone can't turn off wifi otherwise it'd lose the push connection. Thanks.

Fixed my phone but display still doesn't work iPhone 4S

4S got run over by a car. I changed the broken display, functionality (sound, vibration, cameras, wireless, mobile data, emails and other notifications come in, I can here SIRI, etc.) is working (tested via cylay).  Battery always low and phone turns off pretty fast after unplugging from the charger. Plugged in it turns off itself after about five minutes and restarts immediately again + display doesn't work (sometimes gets bright but there appears no clear picture only some grey tones). It worked about three times though that the display was clear and I could use the phone for about five minutes before it lost its picture again.  What could be broken?

iPhone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple Logo and Screen Lock

I have an iPhone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iPhone randomly "crashes".  Could be when I am using an app.  Could be when I am making a phone call.  Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iPhone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances.  When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iPhone 15 times.  I have cleared all apps from the cache.  I have disabled all notifications and location services.  I have done a Reset All Settings on iPhone and restored from iCloud.  I have done a Restore from iTunes.  The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes.  As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iPhone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iPhone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues.  Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

My iPhone 5 stopped recognizing my USB cable

In the past few nights, my phone would charge if I had the cord in exactly the right place, but as soon as I touched it in the slightest, it would stopped charging. It did one of those charge, no charge things where it recognizes it for a second, vibrates to tell you it's charging and then stop and then start over again (lots of vibrates). Every once in a while I would get a "Charging is not supported by this accessory" notifications even though I'm using my factory-produced cord and adaptor. Then last night it stopped recognizing USB cords altogether. I tried two different cords, two different adaptors, three different outlets, and plugging it into my laptop. Nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions or have encountered similar problems? I would really like to be able to charge my phone before it dies. Thanks. Jason

I like to have all the sounds that my apps (Twitter, Snapchat, etc.) turned off. They had always been quiet up until recently? I think in all the settings and notifications tabs I have everything set for no sound. Why is this happening?Marie

Battery life-iphone 4

Well I tried turning off the Bluetooth, turning off WIFI, turning off location services, and all push activity.  After all of this my battery lasts about 8 hours.  I guess I could keep the phone powered off but I think that kind of defeats the purpose of owning the phone. Any studies on the lifespan of an iPhone 4 battery?  My applecare warranty runs out in a few months.

Hi, I just upgraded to IOS 6.1.4 this morning no issues Upgrade went well. Now My Email push Notfication is not working.  1. Bussiness Gmail Account - Configured as Exchange2. Hotmail Account - Configured as Exchange Both Account - push is ON if some one send email i am not getting it. I have to manually open the Native Email client then i can see.  Restarted the IPhone Twice.  Any one facing similar issue?

Home and Power Buttons Not Waking iPhone 5

Hello  I have an iPhone 5 that I purchased upon release in New Zealand around December.  Recentlly, more and more often, I will go to check messages or notifications on my phone by pressing the home or power button to wake it and display the lock screen (a simple enough task, one would imagine). However the screen will not show. They phone simply stays black. Sometimes I can press either button again and it wil wake, other times I will need to wait anywhere up to 10 minutes.  I have tried factory restoring my phone to no avail. It is on the latest release of iOS and has had no water damage or major shock damage.  Thanks for any help you can provide,Caleb

iPhone 5 battery drain

I got an iPhone 5 on Friday and the battery *****. I've read every single forum, done everything, reset all settings, drained battery to 0 and then back up, even restarted to factory settings, turned off push, limited notifications, every thing every forum has told me to do. I even went to apple and they were no help at all, telling me my battery was normal. I don't think sleeping with 100% and waking up with 75% is normal, or getting 2 hours if limited use from my phone throughout the day. I have no idea what to do and I'm getting so tired of this. I did not pay 1000$ and wait 5 months for this. I really expected so much more. Someone help me, and give me a right answer, to help me fix this. Seriously getting so ******. Battery Life Horrible iPhone 5

I have an Iphone 5 with the 6.1.3 software. This week about 5 of my apps had an update. Since the update i noticed that my iphone's battery life has been horrible. It takes twice as long to charge and it drains twice as fast. I have my setting for brightness turned all the way down, push notifications turned off, and pretty much i have to manually update everything on my iphone. I had these setting for a while now and all of a sudden my battery life stinks. Any ideas?

My Facebook application will only show I have a notification if I click into the app.  I should be able to see that there is a notification with a red bubble that has a number in the top right hand side of the app on the home page.  If not, it defeats the purpose of not having to click into the application to check for updates.

Hi Sorry if im repeating something here, but i have googled my life away trying to find an answer to this. Since i have updated my iPhone 4S to the new software update (6.1) I dont recieve an twitter notifications through. Everything else seems to be fine apart from this. I dont receieve anything, nothing comes up in the notification centre, I have to find out if I get a tweet manually through the feed.  I think i have checked the notification centre and settings correctly. If anyone could help me that would be brilliant, as i'm completely lost at the moment.  I have reinstalled twitter, I have done a complete restore but still doesnt work. Thanks

Cannot figure out how to set a sound alert for Find Friends notifications. I only get an alert banner but not sound which seems more useful when waiting for notifications.I have the latest version and cannot find anything close to setting this up, maybe there isn't????

Question on unlock process for iPhone 4

Hello, I have completed my 2-year contract agreement with AT&T and received the instructions for unlocking my iPhone 4. My question: My iPhone is synced. Now I should do a full backup and restore of the iPhone via iTunes, but will this (1) keep all my current apps and (2) affect my current settings, specifically will I need to re-adjust all my individual notifications (alert style, badge app icon, sounds, view in lock screen)? This would be a tremendous chore for me as I currently have 176 applications on my mobile. I appreciate your help with the answer to this. Thank you  Regards, Chuck

I'm on my iPhone 4S and I can't connect to ANY app that uses wifi, including the iTunes store. I keep getting notifications that I need to check my Internet connection (I have it on my phone) and that my phone wasn't sure if itunes.apple.com was really iTunes' web address (oh come on!) It's storming here where I am in Tennessee now, and I figured that might be part of the problem. But is it?  I've reset the network settings, and it still says it. What could the problem be? I've even tried turning off the wifi and using 4G and nothing happened.

When I get a notification in the nc and I click on it, it opens the app but when I'm done, the notification still stays in the nc until I manually clear it out. Is there any way to fix this?

What s wrong with my iphone

Ok so, since yesterday afternoon, while i was on my facebook, it suddenly popped out that there's a problem with the connection blah blah blah, but it was still connected to the wifi, so I just ignored it for a while, until i want to use it but i can't, coz every app that needs wifi was just loading & loading and it took forever but i wasn't updating to the latest post like that.. I opened my tumblr, twitter, instagram, imessage and facebook, but it's stuck on the same last post from yesterday. It really bothers me, I reset the network setting for a couple of times, and nothing happens.  If you're gonna ask what carrier i have, It's MTS but i don't have a sim. Yet i can still use it like an ipod.  the push notfication shows on my iphone, like when it's locked and someone message me on fb or retweet something on twitter. Then when i do open that notification, and the app will load then it'll stop.  I also updated it to the latest iOS (6.1.3) a month ago.  What do i need to do??? Need Help. 

iPhone battery loses 15 overnight iPhone 5

I have the iPhone 5 that I got the day it came out last September. The battery has always been pretty bad, but lately overnight it loses about 10-15%. I have to charge my phone every night, and I go to bed with it at 100% when I wake up a few hours later (about 5 hours) it's down to about 85%. I always make sure that no apps are open, I turn off the wifi, data, location and I don't get push notifications for mail. I also have do not disturb on and don't get any texts. It's not only over night, when using my phone I lose about 5% within 5 minutes. Is there any way to fix this, I'm always having to charge my phone. I have done the calibration before, charging it to 100 then let it get to 0 then charge it to 100. Can I fix this at all?

battery draining 10 every hour after ios 6.1.3 iPhone 4S

I got home at 2 AM last night with 69% battery, woke up at 9 AM with 40% battey. I was sleeping the whole time which means my phone was in standby the whole night with the exception of  a couple notifications which popped up on my homescreen.

iPhone 4 audio behaving like has headphones always plugged in

Hello. I have an iPhone 4. Software version is 4.3.5. I currently have the sound button on. No headphones plugged. When push the sound button up or down, I have on scree the usual volume screen, however, it says ringer (headphones) instead of just ringer. I have no sounds coming from apps (notifications...) and no sound coming from locking (it is set on on the settings). I cannot listen to the iPod music without headphones (no sound comes out of speakers). I only have these sounds when I plug headphones and the sounds come via headphones. Also, if I have the iPod on, with headphones, the iPod does not turn off when I remove headphones. I already switched it off and tried forced reset. Any ideas to solve this, please? Thank you

Iphone 5 battery life great after ios 6.1.3 update

Hello Folks, Created this thread so that people know that not every iPhone 5 has a bad battery issue. I got the iPhone 5 32 GB Unlocked version last week and i was going through all the forums checking the battery issues people had since updating their iOS version. I saw that a lot of people have issues with their battery which put me on backfoot for upgrading the OS. Then too i took the leap of faith with the thought that it is "Apple!!" a premium brand.. And i am glad i did. Now i know a lot of people had issues with the ios 6.1.3 Upgrade. But for me it was smooth. When i got the phone i was by default on 6.0.2 and battery life was ok. It was les than ATT Galaxy S3 i had before as in they battery used to die in 14-16 hours which was not bad i would say.  Since i upgraded, it was on 100% in the night at 12:30 AM. I woke up, and it was still 100%. So stand by battery is super awesome after the upgrade. As for the usage now, it is 4:30 PM here in NY and the battery is about 55%. The stats that i see is 17 hours stand by time and 6 hours usage. So i beleive my battery life is improved. Also my LTE is off as we dont have it in Long Island. In the night I was on Wifi, I am in office now and wifi is disabled, listened to an hour of music on spotify, notifications are off for all the useless apps, mail frequency is 1 hour, use whatsapp a lot. Thats it. So atleast for me, the upgrade was a beneifit. And the battery life has difinitely improved.  PS: I have not created the thread to poke people with battery issues, just an FYI to people that not everyone is having battery issues. Peace....

Verizon Iphone 4s 32GB alerts not working correctly

Hi, I have a Iphone 4s (32GB) that i got at a verizon store this past summer (May-Aug 2012). I'm currently only using 7.3GB of it (so i don't really have a ton of stuff on it), and i always close my apps after i use them.  I am having an issue with the alerts. In my settings i have the notifications for imessages/text messages, and mail to be 'on' with Alert as the Alert style, badge app icon on, show preview, view in lock screen, etc on. BUT whenever i will get emails it will viberate once, but the email wont pop up as an alert, i will manually have to go to my mail to see what it is. Also, with text messages i can get a text message and my phone wont even viberate or send me an alert for it, i will just randomly have a 1 on the messages icon. Is there a recall or something that would explain why my phone is doing this? I am puzzeled, because i take really good care of my phone and am confused why this would be happeneing- because i do all the right things to keep it working for as long as possible. Thank you!

Connect to iTunes to Use push notifications iPhone 3G

I keep getting a pop-up every time I try to use Snapchat. It says "Connect to iTunes to Use push notifications." I just got the phone yesterday, so I have nothing to restore it to. I've tried doing a full system restart and this does nothing. I've deleted and redownloaded the app multiple times. I've tried to use a friends AppleID thinking that it may have something to do with my login, but that does not work either. I don't have an Apple Store anywhere near me, but if I have to, I can take it back to AT&T. Help?

I've got the Facebook app on my iPhone 4. The Problem is Facebook doesnt appear in settings--> notifications. So it isn't possible to set the notifications for facebbok. I've already uninstalled and installed facebook.

I opened up my Messages on my phone today, as I had one new one, and I found that the text bubbles had been layered up. Also, when I read the message, it still said that I had new messages. I'm now up to 118 message notifications, read them all, and still can't get rid of them. Help, please?

During the last 6 day my iPhone 4s ios 6.1.2 has turned off 3 times. This is the third time it has done it I really don't know what is going on with my phone. The first time it shut off was last Wesnday evening I was using it all throughout the day and was wrking fine the I put the phone in my pocket and went to go check if I got notifications and it was completely off. I was unable to to boot it back up. I connected it to iTunes and it said it was in recovery mode and I had to restore it but whe I tried to restore it, it would not restore at all the bar was not loading. So I kept it on the charger overnight and the next morning I turned it on. The following day on Friday it did it again, same thing. but this time when I plugged it to iTunes It was able to recover so I was relieved.  And then today I was using it this morning and it was fine after school was over for me I get my iPhone out my pocket and it was off so I tried to hard reboot it and turn it on but it would not boot. So now I am here and I tried to plug it to the computer to restore it but iTunes is not detecting my iPhone being connected to iTunes.  Can someone help me I am getting mad and frustrated. 

iPhone 5 Battery Data usage issues

Here's my journey. I had the iPhone 5 from the day it was realeased. Was with Vodafone Australia. Phone was awesome. Coverage was an issue, so decided to swap to Telstra recently. Got new iPhone 5 with the change over. From the beginning, the new Iphone on Telstra, the battery was draining completely in less than 3 hours. Looked at the support communities and spoke to Apple. I made the mistake of setting the phone up from a "BackUp". They suggested setting it up as a "new phone" in iTunes. Did that - phone had been awesome until 4 days ago when I decided to "Update All" of the pending App updates. After all was downloaded the phone returned to its draining self, also becomign VERY VERY HOT when charging. Warmer than normal. Also got a SMS from Telstra to say I have used 82% of my download entitlement. With 22 days remaining!!!! Something wasnt right, not only was it using the battery life, cellular data usage was being drained also. Spoke to Apple, they told me I would need to do a process of elimination to find the "corrupt" app that was draining the Battery & Data.  I deleted every single App I had on the phone, yet it made no difference. I started to monitor the cellular data recieved on the phone. With no apps and nothing running, how is there data and battery being drained. Decided yesterday to"RESTORE" iPhone once again. Set up as a new phone. I had loaded my email settings, but nothing else. I hadnt even provided my Apple ID infomation so the App Store wasnt logged in. Phone was still not right. Played with some settings, decided to turn my "Exchange" email from "push" to "Manually Fetch".  After this, the phone was back to normal. No cellular data being downloaded and battery OK. Turned Exchanged back to push, then the battery decides to trickle away again. After all this ********, I have narrowed it down to the way my exhcnage server checks for new messages. I have ALWAYS had my Exchange server push emails to me. Why with this phone, on 6.1 should I have to have it to Manually check for emails. I get the feeling from conversations with other people, there seems to be alot of unknown data usage which Apple need to make a priority in preventing. This is costing consumers time and money. Curious if anyone else has had same issue?
